Ordered take out so I can't speak to the service or ambiance. But my pick up experience went very smoothly and the staff is very nice! I got the food around 10 pm on a Friday night and it was bustling in the restaurant. The food was phenomenal. We got the grilled sea bass and a lahmacun. The seabass came with a salad and bread and the lahmacun came with a small salad as well. Both were good portion sizes and absolutely delicious. Thinking of going to eat in person next!

This food is really good and authentic!! The food didn't take too long to come out and everyone was really nice. Would recommend if you're craving turkish food! The flatbread was really good :)

Parking can be a hassle...we ended up parking at a Stop & Shop garage and walking over. I'd recommend maybe taking public transport here. The space is absolutely beautiful and stunning. It's really pretty and recently renovated. We were actually seated in the neighboring bakery because our party was large. We got some mixed platters for the table and everything was phenomenal. There was chicken breast, chicken thigh, doner kebabs, kofte kebabs, grilled veggies and more. The knafeh was great as well, it's more on the syrup-ey side. The Turkish tea was probably some of the best I had...really strong and aromatic in the best way.

Make sure to get a reservation because this place is popular! But for very good reason! I loved my experience at Lazuri and I will be dreaming of the food until I come back. Everyone was so kind and helpful and the food came out piping hot and delicious! I was so impressed with everything at this restaurant even simple bread and dip is made with devine flavor. I came with two of my friends and we couldn't decide what we wanted there were too many good things so we just ordered some things to share and boy was that the right call. Everything that came out was better than the last. This place gets busy and isn't as big as it should be so get a reservation or be ready to wait! But it is well worth it

Turkish Aubergine (Soslu Patlican): Eggplant dip mixed with bell peppers, tomato, onions, marinara sauce
    Sierra H.

Ordered takeout from Turkish Lazaro Cafe because we were craving eggplant and our expectations were definitely exceeded. The Turkish Aubergine (Soslu Patlican) was refreshing and nicely seasoned. The bread that it came with was sooo fluffy inside but crispy on the outside. Probably some of the best bread we've had in the city. The sea bass (levrek) was super reasonably priced as it also came with a large side salad and pita bread. However, it was slightly overcooked and a bit dry by the time our order was delivered. Overall the flavors were great though and we'll definitely be ordering from here again!

My boyfriend brought me here because he stops in fairly often for dinner. I really enjoyed the food here. After ordering, we got our food pretty quickly and it was delicious. The chicken bowl and the spinach pie were my favorites that we had. We stayed for quite a while talking and eating and I really liked that the staff didn't rush us out with the check once we were finished.

I loved the falafel wrap I got fries that were delicious as well for only a $1 more. The staff is very nice. The place was clean and originated. Found street parking even with some spots being taken from the snow storm a week ago. My friend got the mixed kofte kebab and said it was also delicious. They also have a bakery next door and they have tea and coffee that are also great. I love their red velvet cake.

New year and tried a new restaurant in the very first week! Actually it's sort of a new year resolution of mine for this year to try at least 1 new restaurant every week or at least every other week! I realized that I have so many go to restaurants and find myself re-reviewing the same ones over and over! Need to branch out and discover new places - as an elite yelper, I think that's a good goal to have!! Anyway - we had seen or passed by this restaurant many many times in the Allston area and had always wanted to try it! And last night we decided to order from here as didn't feel like venturing outside in the cold. Food came in a timely manner. Everything was really good. Hubs ordered the mixed meat gyro in lavash bread - he liked it although it wasn't as he had expected because it definitely had a lot of meat but little veggies, and more sour and pickley- tasty but different. I ordered the chicken kebab bowl - chicken kebabs were delicious and tender. Came with 2 types of rice - white and yellow, also came with salad, grilled tomato and yogurt sauce. Really good and hearty. The zucchini fritters were more like pancakes actually- quite tasty, soft and mild came with yogurt sauce. The eggplant appetizer was really tasty - sweet and sour, well cooked. It came cold - chilled, I would really prefer it warm or even room temperature but very tasty. The 2 fresh flatbreads that came with 2 of the dishes were great- really fresh and soft tasty. Overall a yummy meal was had along with leftovers for another meal or two!

We went in for lunch and each ordered cheese and combo pides and a combo gozleme. Also got the chicken soup. My only regret was that I could not eat more. The desserts looked wonderful but we couldn't even finish what we had. Next time I will split an entree so that I can try a dessert.

My partner and I got the Turkish aubergine (soslu patlican), Lazuri lamb bowl w doner, and mixed gyro wrap - TASTE: 3/5 - enjoyed the cold appetizer w its sweet eggplant and tomato sauce. Was looking for more seasoning in the lamb and french fries though; maybe I'm more used to stronger Greek flavors? Glad the yogurt dip added taste TEXTURE: 4/5 - the eggplant went well w the side of bread. Appreciated the variety of textures in the bowl: crunchy falafel, smooth hummus, crisp salad, and tender rice PRICE: 4/5 - total came to $51 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - filled us up for lunch, and took the generous bowl for leftovers SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 12:15pm on a Saturday and there were a couple tables occupied, and almost all were taken by the time we left. Our waitress was helpful w recommendations and friendly. Our food came out 15min after ordering ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - about 25 seats in this authentic Turkish spot. Had to be escorted through the kitchen and down a set of stairs to use the bathroom PARKING: 4/5 - got a free street spot a block down on Cambridge St

It is spacious inside, but the night that we went was empty (Thursday night). Where this restaurant loses points is the service. Unfortunately, our server was very difficult to work with on getting our orders correct. Multiple times she got our order wrong or forgot what we got and had to come back to the table to get the order again. Additionally, when the food was coming out, she was giving it to the wrong people at the table (party of 7 in an empty restaurant) and 2 of the plates came out very late compared to the others (about a 15 minute difference). This made 2 people feel left out eating with the rest of the table. When the 2 remaining plates finally came out, one of them was the wrong one!! At that point, we already shared our food with the other 2 people and they weren't even hungry anymore and were frustrated. Overall, service was very slow and confusing. Our server was nice, but she either needed more training or attention to detail. Considering we were the only customers at that time, this was a very surprising experience.

Ironically, I found this place when I was looking up ice cream. They serve authentic Turkish ice cream, and it's been something I've been wanting to try. In addition to the ice cream, I ordered Manti (Turkish dumplings) and Uludag soda (which they say is a Turkish ginger ale). I loooooooooved the Manti. While the dumplings were filled with meat, the dish overall felt light since each dumpling is like the size of a quarter. The dumplings had a nice chew, and the sauces made the dish rich yet creamy. The Uludag soda was definitely much lighter than a ginger ale. Tasted like a light citrusy drink, and it's less sweet than American sodas. The ice cream had a nice pull and chew, although it didn't look as stretchy as Turkish ice creams I've seen. Nice amount of pistachio flavor throughout. I came on a weekday lunch, so there was ample seating inside. Ordering is done via a QR code on your table or on a tablet stand in the middle of the restaurant. Service was quick and friendly, making it a great experience overall.

This is the kind of place that works beautifully for group outings, thanks to the big, long tables that make it easy to settle in, share plates, and actually enjoy the social side of dining. The sampler platters and mixed grill dishes are absolutely the way to go. Portions are generous, the variety is excellent, and everything we tried tasted fresh and well balanced. The hummus and baba ganoush were both standouts, packed with flavor and a great start to the meal. One of the biggest highlights was the manti. These delicate, bite sized dumplings with yogurt sauce were pure comfort food and easily one of the most memorable dishes of the night. The haydari (similar to Tzatziki) was another favorite. Rich, creamy, and incredibly flavorful, it's the kind of dip you keep reaching for long after you're full. For something a little different, the traditional Turkish coffee made with hot sand is such a fun experience and well worth ordering. Ending the meal with coffee and rice pudding felt like the perfect, cozy finish. On a practical note, I was genuinely happy there is some parking here, which is always a welcome bonus in Cambridge. I came specifically for Turkish simit bagels. Since I didn't see any on display, I asked the person behind the counter if they had any. He replied that they were "all out" because "a lot of people ordered soup today and ordered simits with soup." Mind you, this was 11:32 in the morning, well before lunch even starts. His tone was extremely unpleasant, as if I were asking for something unreasonable for expecting a classic Turkish item to be available mid-morning. What's the point of running a place like this if the food cases are half empty and they can't offer something as basic as a simit at 11:32 a.m.? Why the condescending attitude, as though expecting them to have one available at that hour is too much to ask? How can they even stay in business when they don't have basic items available in the morning and still expect customers to support them? And on top of that, having a half-asleep, condescending person tell me they're out because "people ordered soup with simits" at 11:30 in the morning is absurd. I walked out unhappy and puzzled at how such a large new Sofra location can be out of simit bagels before lunchtime and how anyone can think that's acceptable. Unbelievable. One star.
