I loved their other location in downtown Boston but the quality was variable so I wanted to try this branch. My first impression was great! The menu is pretty much the same but slightly cheaper. I got the mixed grill plate ($24) which came with bulgur, salad, bread, charred pepper and charred tomato, adana kebab, kofte kebab, lamb shish kebab, chicken kebab, and doner. The lamb was on the dry side but all the other meats were juicy and flavorful. The portion was also huge-- I could probably split it into 3-4 meals if I wanted to. The bread has an amazing texture where the crust is very chewy while the inside is pillowy soft. Some of the oil and juices from the meat soaked into the bulgur which made it even more delicious. Hoping that their quality here is more consistent. I love their food and can't wait to have it again.

I stopped by Ali Baba on my Dunkin's run. Wow this place is truly a hidden gem. I had the Lahmajun and some Baklava. The portions were bigger than I expected. The place was clean and staff was nice. I left this place very contempt I will be coming back to try their spicy vegetable dip :)

Ali Baba is half of a Mexican/Turkish restaurant in the Charlestown/Somerville Area. The other half of the restaurant is called El Triunfo. This is the second location of the Ali Baba in Boston. We tried the Mixed Grill and were really impressed with the overall taste and freshness of the platter. All of the meats were juicy and full of flavor. The bulgur was also excellent and well flavored. This was by far the best Turkish food I've had in the Boston area. The portions were also good and the prices were fair. They've got a parking lot right outside and indoor seating. The whole menu is also halal. The service was friendly and fast. I'd definitely check them out.

Lavash Grille - Cambridge, MA Total Score: 9/10…read more Lavash Grille in Cambridge delivers a Turkish and Mediterranean dining experience that feels both vibrant and deeply comforting. This is the kind of place that works beautifully for group outings, thanks to the big, long tables that make it easy to settle in, share plates, and actually enjoy the social side of dining. The sampler platters and mixed grill dishes are absolutely the way to go. Portions are generous, the variety is excellent, and everything we tried tasted fresh and well balanced. The hummus and baba ganoush were both standouts, packed with flavor and a great start to the meal. One of the biggest highlights was the manti. These delicate, bite sized dumplings with yogurt sauce were pure comfort food and easily one of the most memorable dishes of the night. The haydari (similar to Tzatziki) was another favorite. Rich, creamy, and incredibly flavorful, it's the kind of dip you keep reaching for long after you're full. For something a little different, the traditional Turkish coffee made with hot sand is such a fun experience and well worth ordering. Ending the meal with coffee and rice pudding felt like the perfect, cozy finish. On a practical note, I was genuinely happy there is some parking here, which is always a welcome bonus in Cambridge. Overall, Lavash Grille is a place I'd gladly return to. Great food, perfect for group settings, and an all around enjoyable dining experience.

They have a small parking lot off the side of the restaurant which is free. Inside, there is plenty of space. The service and staff are very nice. We got a lentil soup to share, manti and beef liver as appetizers. Everything tasted amazing. The manti could be a little softer. We also got coffee and tea. The tea was refilled throughout the time we were there which was a nice touch. For my main I got the chicken Adana and my friend got the lamb version. Both were grilled to perfection. Such simple ingredients but the meal was well balanced. The meat came with rice and some grilled/ pickled veggies. The only thing to note is that the bathroom is shared with the building and was out of toilet paper and was in bad condition.

The hidden gem in the whole experience is the basket of fresh bread and the small plate of white bean salad that comes to the table after ordering; the bread is steaming hot from the oven, and the beans and vegetables taste really fresh. This place feels so nice when you can enjoy the food in their outdoor seating during the warmer months. The atmosphere is inviting rather than flashy, and you get a sense the place is run by a family with genuine care for how the food is made. What I liked The menu is broad, with Turkish classics like grilled kebabs, mixed grill platters, pide (Turkish flatbread pizza) and desserts like baklava and the deep-fried kunefe. The staff were friendly, helpful with questions (especially about ingredients or dietary concerns) and seemed genuinely welcoming. There's a comfortable, at-home vibe. Bonus: there are gluten-free friendly options and staff seem attentive to allergy/diet-needs. A few caveats Some reviewers noted inconsistency -- e.g., one person said the lavash bread felt stale or the portion of a particular dish was smaller than expected. While the "buffet" name suggests all-you-can-eat, there was confusion about pricing and format (some said bought by the pound rather than unlimited). If you're looking for a relaxed, family-run Turkish spot in Brookline with solid food, Anatology is a strong choice. The ambience is casual, the portions generous, and the menu rich in flavor. I'd go back to explore more of the desserts (that kunefe looked tempting) and maybe try the pide next time. If you're visiting during a slower hour you'll probably get the best experience. Would highly recommend it for brunch-to-dinner, especially if you like kebabs, grilled meat platters and a comfortable local atmosphere.

We were greeted by the owner and made to feel comfortable as soon as we walked in. This time, as usual, we started with the red lentil soup and hummus. Both delicious and the hummus as smooth as silk and not over-loaded with tahini. We tried the fried calamari for the first time, and I wouldn't order that again; I think it's a frozen product they simply reheat; the sauce that came with it was good and the calamari tasty, but not what you're looking for if you want calamari. Our choice of entree is usually get the Fainting Imam, stuffed eggplant with vegetables, pine nuts and raisins, and it is heavenly, but this time I decided to experiment and ordered the Vegetable Mousakka With Béchamel Sauce. I was a little disappointed in the dish; it was made up of a variety of vegetables, sliced thin and layered. There was a piece of fried potato I couldn't cut through; it was really crunchy-hard. I ate it; it was good, but too done. What disappointed me was the absence of Bechamel sauce; it may have been there, but if it was, I couldn't taste or see it. Maybe a foam??? That was one of my reasons for trying the dish; I expected more of a Pastitsio-like layer of Bechamel or at least something I could discern in the dish. The Shepphard salad did not come with my entree (I don't know why? It comes with the Imam?), but I had to order it; it is out of this world. Simple and delicious. Particularly appealing to me is that they do not include large pieces of green pepper in the salad; there were a few bits, but not overwhelming. Next time, I might just get that salad, the soup and some hummus!!! I may have whined a little here, but don't let anything I said keep you away from Pasha. The owner, the staff and the food are wonderful.
