Came here one weekday evening after seeing an Instagram ad about a collab between Hen Chicken Rice and Fiya. Staff is nice and friendly and the interior is pretty clean. Store filled up soon after we entered. I parked down the street but parking generally can be tough so take the T in if you're able. We sat down and placed our order via our phones. They were kind enough to give us daikon soup on the house as we awaited our order. Can't say too much about it though as I'm not a fan of daikon. My brother ordered a corn dog and we each ordered the crispy boneless chicken. The meal itself is pretty simple with just protein, grain, and a few slices of cucumber but it's filling. I love the sweet chili sauce it comes with and I'm very happy with the crispiness of the chicken. My only complaint is with the garlic rice -- grains felt a bit more stuck together than I would've liked and I'm not sure the taste was quite there. I may stop by and try other items on the menu if I was nearby but I wouldn't go out of my way for it at this point.
Korean fried chicken will always hold a special place in my stomach (and heart). There was this little spot back in California that I religiously visited several times a month just for their Korean fried whole spring chicken... and I've been seeking a replacement since moving here. I was walking towards my current favorite restaurant in Boston when I noticed this spot and decided to give it a try. Fiya Chicken has their flavors dialed in and their wings are pretty much on point. However, their breading is a little too much for my personal taste. Their wings were also heavily sauced - far more than I'd like as the taste becomes overwhelming after a few wings in. That said, I'm 100% sure that there are others who prefer their Korean fried chicken this way. If I visit again (instead of going to my fav spot literally across the street), I'd stick to their Taiwanese Basil Fried Chicken, which is absolutely lovely and on point; a little ironic when visiting a K-fried-spot.
Fried chicken and beer is the best combo! This restaurant just added a new draft beer menu and they're open late- perfect for the college students!! The restaurant rests on Comm Ave and is very cute inside with a good amount of seating. Service is counter order. For food, we ordered the Thai chicken sandwich, the heat-fried chicken bowl, and potato Korean corn dog. The sandwich was our favorite- the spicy chicken with Thai mayo was a delectable combination and even had good citrus to balance it out. The chicken rice was okay- the chicken was a bit hard & over-fried and the "heat" was just some powder. The corn dog was not assembled well and the breading kept sliding off. We also got the Thai iced green tea. it was very floral and different from what I've had. I don't think I would get it again If you're a Boston University student, this restaurant is right on your campus so check it out for a cheap, quick meal! Everything is very affordable and you can get dishes under $15.
Good chicken place! I've heard many good things about Fiya and was excited to finally check them out. Went on a Sunday evening and was able to get a table no problem. The inside was really cool and the music was amazing. The service was great and quick. I ordered the chicken sandwich combo with spicy Korean sauce and my friend got the wing combo. The portions are big. I think my picture is deceiving because that sandwich was huge with an even bigger serving of fries. It was also really hard to eat without pieces of the sandwich coming out so kind of messy. Even though the food was super tasty, I could barely finish it. I'd go again for a smaller option.
Since Bon Chon in Allston went downhill bad, I was looking for a good fried chicken spot. Fiya fit the bill and I decided to take out some Korean fried tenders. First off, the tenders are massive. You get alot of chicken for your buck. Plus they throw in pickled radish. I tried the spicy sauce, the soy garlic and the Fiya sauce. The spicy and soy garlic were awesome. They reminded me of the good Ole days of my favorite chicken joints. The Fiya sauce was a bit sour, tasting like it was maybe soaked in kimchi? I'm not sure. Not bad but not my favorite. They have a great selection of chicken. The chicken sandwich is thigh meat. The only white meat are the tenders. They also have bone-in chicken which I'll try next time. Overall; this is my new favorite Korean chicken place in the Boston area. Definitely worth a visit. Tip. I think they check vax cards to dine in. Great covid protocols. Clean place.
Great place. Fast service. Convenient parking (at least when I went). The chicken was flavorful and crispy. The fries were just okay (that is why I took a star off). I did not eat the food right away. I drove back to the hotel (about 20 min drive), maybe that is why the fries were not as fresh, by the chicken was still yummy and it's halal! I will recommend and go back when in the mood for chicken.
TO GET: - Chicken wings are to die for... they're huge and so juicy. - Taiwanese chicken is crispy, juicy, and have the salt pepper taste - Chicken sandwich is delicious! Bread is soft, chicken is tender, sauce is yum. - Korean corn dog is exactly as advertised. You'll get what you're expecting and it hits the spot - Nori fries... the hidden gem IMO. Surprisingly really good Items that were just okay: - Chicken tenders are a bit dry - Truffle fries are a bit strong (my friends love it though... so let your tastebuds be the judge of that) Service is friendly and quick. Indoor seating available :)
The definition of indulgence. Come here to lose 10 years off your life but I promise the cholesterol is worth it. The strawberry and mango lemonades alone would've made the trip to Boston worth it but the chicken was next level. We tried the Fiya and Soy garlic chicken wings and I was blown away by the crunchiness of the batter and the juiciness of the meat within. These are the two hallmarks of a perfect piece of fried chicken. The fiya flavoring was a little bit spicier than expected but the chicken is so delicious that you can't help but keep eating despite the tears and runny nose. The corn dog was succulent and the cheese was melty and chewy and just plain delicious. Heart burn never tasted so good!
Fiya chicken packs some fire! First of all, the chicken wings were a good decent size. Even with a small portion of ten wings, we had leftovers. The taste was out of this world good! We got half and half: soy garlic and the fiya spices. The soy garlic was as expected, very tasty. The fiya spice one packed the heat and was different than any spice mix we've had before. Every bite was flavorful. One of the best parts was: we had ordered takeout. Then we ran a few errands and afterwards came home for lunch. The wings were still crunchy! What magic is this?! If you do want them for lunch, you'd need to note that they open a little late on the weekends, around 1 pm. So plan accordingly. We ordered online and had to go to the counter to collect the order, it wasn't placed on a shelf. So now you have all that you need to know. Go ahead and place your order!
Fiya Chicken is delicious! The restaurant serves Korean street food, ie; Korean fried chicken and Korean corn dogs. The restaurant is located on 1024 Commonwealth Ave. For those familiar with the area, it is located across the street from Victoria Seafood. There is metered parking on both side of Commonwealth Ave, however, parking is very scarce as it is located on the Boston University stretch with many surrounding restaurants. It is T accessible if driving and finding parking is not your talent. When you enter the restaurant, on your right there are three table seating for dine-in patrons that seats about 4 per table. There is red neon lighting on the wall that reads "Tasty Noodz" which cast a pinkish glow (for those trying to get good lighting for their food pics!). There are stool seatings along the left side of the restaurant and the left side wall has a manga action novel theme going. There are additional bar stool seating and a booth seating area at the back of the restaurant. I came here with my family on a weekday night and the restaurant was at half capacity with a good amount of people waiting for their pick-up orders. There were some dine in patrons as well. You can order at the counter and if dining in, there are QR dining menus at each table which made for easy table ordering. For Korean fried chicken, I ordered the Fiya flavor and the soy garlic flavor. The Fiya was my favorite. It had a nice spicy kick while the soy garlic is a staple. I would rate Fiya in my top three restaurants for Korean fried chicken. It was that good! The batter on the chicken was just right and crispy and coated in delicious sauce. The chicken was juicy and good quality. I would put Fiya above competing Korean fried chicken places in the area such as Bonchon any day. The wait was only about 20 minutes or less which was not bad at all. This was my first time trying Korean corn dogs so I have nothing to compare it to. For my corn dog order, I ordered a regular corn dog, the ramen, and the potato. I had one made with half mozzarella and half dog. Most would say the potato batter is the way to go, but I prefer the regular batter. The ramen corn dog was my least favorite. It was kind of gimmicky and not that great. If you had to choose, I think go with the half mozzarella and half dog and do either the regular batter or the potato batter. Korean corn dogs, in my opinion, is a cross between a dessert and a hotdog on a stick. This is because the batter is coated in sugar so it is a tad sweet. The mozzarella cheese was as expected. I wish the hotdog itself was better quality. I am glad I tried Korean corn dog but I am not sure if I would order it again. I also ordered a fried chicken sandwich combo with Nori fries. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy and delicious. I picked the honey mustard dressing but wished I went with something else. The Nori fries were tasty and crispy. I also tried the in house made Mango lemonade. That was also delicious. Overall, Fiya is a solid 4 in terms of food and service. I recommend their fried chicken, fried chicken sandwich, and house-made lemonade. You may feel that the restaurant is geared toward the university crowd but I would say it also great for families as well so bring your little ones.
This place is on FIYA! The Fiya chicken sandwich was super crispy, but yet so tender. The fried chicken is nestled in between two toasted buttery brioche buns, and topped with Kim chi and pickles. The fried chicken was well seasoned with just the right amount of heat. Together, it all tasted like an explosion of flavors in your mouth! The sandwich also comes with a side of fries of either nori fries, truffle, hot or normal fries. The fries were super crispy! The Korean corn dog comes with choice of Mozzarella cheese, hot dog or combo with batter choices of regular, potato or squid ink. The squid ink is just a bit of a chewier texture but all were delicious, light, airy and crispy. The Chicken wings are also bomb! Super crispy and nicely seasoned without being too wet or soggy. I love their honey mustard! Their spicy garlic is quite spicy so beware! Can't wait to go back! Rumor has it is, that they will soon have a bar serving liquor!
I heard a lot of hype around this place and I LOVE Korean fried chicken - I knew I had to give this place a try! Unfortunately, I don't think the meal I got lived up to the hype. I ordered 1lb of chicken tenders with soy garlic sauce. I enjoyed the crispy outer layer, but the actual chicken was quite bland and flavorless. I wish that the crispy outside was thicker and that the yummy soy garlic flavor penetrated through to the actual chicken. It's very possible that the chicken wings and sandwich are much better options, and are therefore worth the hype, but I wouldn't recommend the tenders. Also, the fact that these 4 tenders were ~$14-15 was a bit of a stretch for me. I will say that my friend ordered the corn dog with potatoes on top and absolutely loved it! If I return I'll go for a corn dog instead.
The REAL Korean Fried Chicken sandwich where it's double fried and drenched in soy garlic sauce covered by a buttered brioche bun with a side of blast of nori flavored fries (that doesn't get soggy even after an hour) since we got takeout. Also comes with disposable gloves and a tray for bones. Nori fries - 100% recommend! Extra crunchy, thick, and flavorful with the addicting umami nori flakes! Of course had to try the wings also doubled fried the right way and they're HUGE wings, bigger than my palm, covered in a "signature fiya" dry rub. Was a tad spicy for me but addictive! Couldn't stop burning my lips! But it was so good with the crunch of the wings. Go support them right on comm. ave. They were quick and got my order within 15 mins from order to pick up.

Came across this restaurant while walking from Paradise before a concert and stumbled into this gem. We knew by the wall art that we found a cool spot. We ordered several mixed drinks and were not disappointed. They were strong but expertly balanced. My friend commented that his Margherita was the best cocktail he's had in years. We also ordered two of their chicken sandwiches which came out quickly. Perfectly fried crispy chicken with a good amount of heat. I cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu. I'm a sucker for Korean Fried Chicken and this place definitely delivers! read more

Not sure what happened to this place but previously it went by Fiya Chicken and then they did a collab and it seems the two may have merged their menu items because they are now Fiya Hen. I hadn't tried it before but I wanted to try another ginger rice dish after a very wonderful experience in Cambridge at Chicken and Co. I got the original, which is boneless chicken with ginger rice and a side of sauce and radish soup. The chicken doesn't really have much flavor but you've got to mix it with the sauce and the ginger rice! So yummy my gooood. It does have some tiny jalapenos in the sauce so be careful my friends. I wish it came with more ginger rice but overall it was filling. The raspberry lemonade was also extremely refreshing and flavorful with a bunch of fruit infused in the clear can. It wasn't busy when I went on a weekday, which was nice. If you love your Korean corn dogs they also have a bunch of those on the menu. This place is a cool halal spot. There's a lot of parking space available outside. Also the inside is modern with plenty of seats. When you enter there's no need to go to the register, you can just scan the QR code and place your order. Of course there are waiters available who are more than willing to take your order if you choose to do so. I got the chicken sandwich and the Korean dog. The Korean dog was sweet almost like a donut coating on a hot dog. It was pleasantly good (5/5). The chicken sandwich was actually very disappointing, I got it with spicy Korean sauce. The chicken itself was stinky. Like the smell chicken has when it's been left out for too long. On top of that there was no spice. Very disappointing(1/5). All and all great place to try the corn dog :) read more
This may be a tough review because I have to stick to my core beliefs that first and foremost quality reigns supreme. Spending most of my life in the vicinity were chicken wings started and were a strong influence of their international recognition I feel I can fairly rate any wing. If you're strictly looking for value than you've come to the right spot because these wings are massive, you can almost use a knife and fork. The flavor was kind of middle of the road, in other words they play it safe no true umami or robust flavors here. The staff are friendly, no parking but needless to say they are well worth trying and have a deserved place amongst the rest. Cheers read more
The crispy chicken wings and tenders were very good. The only thing that I didn't like was the honey mustard sauce - it was very pungent and left an after taste. Not sure if it was because of the whole mustard seeds in there. The service was friendly and the food was ready on time for pick up. Parking could be an issue - I'm not sure if I would have been able to park on the street had I not had someone in the car. read more
Fiya Chicken is sooo bomb and the service is amazing. The food comes out fast and the staff is helpful and courteous. Can't believe it took me this long to finally visit this place. The portions are massive and the fried chicken is cooked to perfection. Juicy interior, crispy skin and their delicious soy garlic marinade just really hits the spot. The Fiya Chicken Signature Seasoning is pretty spicy, so unless you have a good spice tolerance just a fair warning. The truffle fries were thick cut, crispy, and fluffy within. The Cheesedog could've used a bit more of a cheese pull factor, but still a very yummy snack. One of the best parts of the meal was sipping on their lemonades. All the flavors are made from scratch and each bottle of lemonade is absolutely amazing, my personal favorite is the strawberry lemonade. Also, they have some really cool retro anime & video game artwork so it was nice to see their attention to detail is not only in their food but also their decor. read more
Fiya chicken is definitely the prices at first will seem overpriced, but wait till you see the food. The burger, fries and wings are all ginormous. You will get a very generous serving. The fried chicken sandwich was absolutely amazing. The truffle fries were a little disappointing, but the sandwich made up for it. The Chicken sauce/spices and the kimchi really hit it home. If you're a fan of flavour then this definitely is worth a try. An even better option is the wings! You can select two different types of wings per 10 wing combo. I got Fiya and spicy garlic. I'm not sure which one was which but the one with the Korean sauce was my favourite. I'll definitely be back to get more of that. read more

Fiya chicken? Instead they should fiya the chef who made these wings. They were too crispy which sounds like a good thing but isn't. The spicy Korean sauce wasn't really good. The fries and radishes were delicious but the coleslaw tasted like rabbit food. Service was quick and the jazz music was nice. Portions were great but at this location you're not far from Bonchon which has way better chicken, coleslaw, and offers alcohol. read more

Fiyaaaaa Chicken took over Love Art Udon, which is bittersweet - missing my udon, but can't complain because the fried chicken is tasty! I ordered off their website for takeout and got a bit of everything including wings (soy garlic & fiya sauce), Korean hot dog (half mozzarella/half hotdog), bibimbap with fried basil chicken, and truffle & nori fries. I went to pick up the food on a Saturday night around 6:30 and there were already a few other people waiting for their order as well. There is only 1 person running back and forth to get the orders that weren't ready yet. I picked up my order and left, but within 5 minutes they called me back because I was missing half my order. Thankfully I picked up and wasn't too far, but the second time I went in the line for people waiting was getting longer. They actually ended up selling out, so I'm glad I ordered early enough! The chicken wings are huge! Double fried, lots of crispy chicken skin, but also moist on the inside. The soy garlic was good, it was like bonchon, but with more fried skin. The fiya dry rub was too spicy for me. The dry rub just coats your entire mouth and then that's when the spice kicks in and ahhhhhh. The Korean hotdog was HUGE. I would say it was like 75% fried dough breading, which was good, but honestly didn't need that much. The first few bites were all just breading and was wondering where the filling was! Since I got half mozzarella/half hotdog there was a gap in between the two, which allowed for even more breading. The bibimbap was spicy, but overbearing and had great vegetables and basil chicken was juicy. The shoestrings fries were definitely a win as well, crunchy with truffle salt or sprinkled nori, and were a great addition to the meal. Overall, a good place to get fried chicken, so worth giving it a try! read more

I was there years ago when guy first opening before COVID. Owner was nice guy and chicken good. I was in area and in mood for chicken wings after a bad Chinese meal elsewhere by BU. Order 5 pc Soy garlic... only 10 bucks and big meaty chicken wings... not pigeon size wings elsewhere.... Excellent crunch, beefy whit meat and soy garlic very good. The guys taking my order were nice guys and I think I remembered one as the owner. I was glad to see his business is booming after CoVID small restaurants shut down. After my initial review, Fiya reached out to me through IG and offered to make up the corn dog to me without the intention/pressure/mentioning of me updating this review. This time around the corn dog cooked to perfection, bulked up, had plenty of ramen bits for that extra crunch, AND there was a pretty unreal cheese pull (which I failed to capture having been by myself this time - regardless, I felt like was worth mentioning). While the inconsistency was worth mentioning from last time, their service and staff are super nice and the corn dog was worth the trip I took into the city for it. That all being said, I still think that I would go for their fried chicken sandwich/rice dishes and fries over the corn dogs, but it's nice to know I can stop by here for a good corn dog if I was feeling it. read more

I wasn't too impressed with the chicken unfortunately after looking forward to how great they looked. Everything up until I started eating the chicken wings had been great. It was very easy to order online and when I arrived I had to just wait a few minutes for my order to finish up but definitely was a very short wait. The chicken looked great and I definitely like the cardboard box they had to reduce the plastic waste. However once I tried out the wings it seems they must have glazed extra sauce on or the sauce is just too salty overall. And it was random too, a few wings here and there tasted great but others just tasted like a bucket of salt crispy skins. The sauce aside the wings were fried very well and the meat is actually quite juicy and not dry like bad fried chickens. But for the price of these wings the sauce is just inexcusable in my opinion, sure they look great on the outside but if only they tasted as good as they looked then its definitely deserve a much higher rating. I'm hoping that this is just a one-off mistake but I'd would have some reservations to try out Fiya Chicken again given how disappointing this experience was. read more

I love the way they chose to have customers order using a QR code on the table and that the process is fully done online. I think this is great for pandemic times and just makes service that much quicker. After ordering our food came very quickly and it was all very fresh. The Truffle Fries were absolutely delicious! They were super crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I was worried when getting the combo it wouldn't be enough fries but it was enough for two people to share. There was so much truffle flavor I was shocked and I literally scarfed them all down. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich comes in a bunch of flavors. After reading reviews I went with the FIYA sauce because that is there name so I though it must be pretty good! When the order came out the chicken wasn't crispy anymore, it was actually pretty soggy and the bottom bun was also soggy. After around 5 mins the bottom bun started falling apart so I was glad they gave us gloves to wear while eating. The actual flavor of the sauce was very spicy. It tasted mostly like (gochujang) and was a little bit overwhelming to me. If you like very spicy food maybe you will enjoy it more but I didn't get any other flavors from the sauce than the spice so it was a little lackluster. The crust ranged from hard to bite it's so crisp on the edge to soggy crust everywhere else but the actual chicken meat was very juicy and cooked perfectly. The Wings I got in the Spicy Garlic which tasted really nice and wasn't overly spicy while still being enough to taste. They were also soggy upon reaching the table but the chicken meat was also perfectly cooked and super juicy. The ramen corndog barely had any ramen on it and it's plain ramen so it really adds nothing to the flavor while also adding nothing to the crunch. I wouldn't recommend the ramen corndog at all. It was really soft inside so I feel it was undercooked slightly and also didn't have that much cheese so I couldn't get a cheese pull. The half hot dog half cheese regular corndog was nicely cooked and was slightly sweet from the sugar put on top. This one had a great cheese pull and the dough was nicely cooked. The fresh Lemonades were really good. It was pretty sour because it's actually made with real lemons and lots of real fruit so I loved it! Overall it was an okay experience but I expect the chicken to be the best if I am going out to eat chicken and honestly Id rather get Underdog if I'm looking for crispy hot fried chicken. read more
