The dining room is fairly small with some bar seating available as well. It was clean and bright. It took about 7 mins for the server to come over and she lead with "are you ready to order?" I guess simple pleasantries are useless anyway. We knew our drinks and appetizers order but not what we wanted for pizza yet so we ordered those and told her we'd order pizzas when the apps and drinks came. She came back about 3 minutes later and asked if we were ready to order yet. Feeling pressured, we ordered thinking that perhaps they close soon (not the case). The bartender delivered our drinks a few minutes later and about 5 mins after that both the appetizers and pizza arrived at the same time. Besides the fact that our table wasn't large enough to accommodate all that food and drink, it was never our intention to eat our appetizers with our meal. The good news is that the food was hot, fresh and tasty. The potato bombs were excellent. Crispy home fry like potatoes and the peppers had a nice heat. I would love to try the popper version next time. The pizzas were good too, but be prepared for floppy and slightly under done base crust but a perfectly charred edge crust. I find many wood fired pizza to come this way but I did see other reviews mention this as a negative. The bill comes in a small ball jar with a delicious rice crispy treat. While the jar worked it must have made it hard to see that I dropped my credit card in it, so after the waitress walked by a few times I removed the card and made it visible on the table. When the tab came to sign I was not given a pen. I should have walked out and just let them charge me for just the tab but I cannot stiff waitstaff, even when it's poor service. My only hope is that it was the waitress's first day and she somehow figures out the typical cadence and procedure involved in waiting tables. Food was a solid 4 but service was a 2 so I landed on a 3. I would definitely go back hoping for a better server.

We found KChickin nearby on Peterborough Street and they're open until 9:30pm. We walked quickly over as hunger is a good motivator to walk fast. The restaurant has takeout but offered enough space to hold three famished Fenway newbies. Service was quickly and friendly and the food was served fairly quickly. Seems like most restaurants begin at the suggested 18% tip to start. Some calculate their tipping suggestions at your subtotal before adding the taxes to your bill. This restaurant included the taxes as part of its tip calculation so be aware that you're actually tipping more than 18%. FYI: as a customer, you decide how much to tip for quality service. Bringing your orders to your table is basic. How many times they filled your water cups and check up on you are important and expected. Tipping is not automatic in my humble opinion. Servers who work diligently for their tips so tip accordingly to those who provided a great dining experience.

KChickin is one of those places that earns its high rating without much argument. We walked into a…read morespace that buzzes even on weeknight evenings, with a menu spanning Korean fried chicken, sushi, hand rolls, and Japanese comfort food. That combination sounds like it could go sideways, but the kitchen handles the range with enough confidence that the whole thing works. The fried chicken is the anchor of the menu and the reason most people come back. We ordered the soy garlic wings, the most talked about item, and they justified the reputation. They came out freshly fried with a glaze that coated evenly and a crunch that held. The chili basil version is worth ordering alongside if you want some heat, and the classic crispy is the right call for anyone who wants to taste the chicken itself without much interference. The calamari is a strong starter, well fried and light enough that it did not weigh down the rest of the meal before it got going. On the Japanese side of the menu, the kaisen don stood out. The presentation was careful and the fish was fresh in a way that made it feel like a dish the kitchen takes seriously rather than an afterthought. The hand rolls are solid and satisfying, though they lean more reliable than revelatory, making them a good addition to a larger spread rather than the sole reason to visit. For a spot covering this much ground, the consistency impressed us most. People drive over an hour to eat here, and that says something. It earns the trip. We would come back for the soy garlic wings and a bowl of kimchi tofu soup, and we would bring friends who want both Korean fried chicken and fresh sushi under one roof.

We walked into a unique space with dim lighting, stylish décor, and an energetic vibe that makes it feel like a great place for dinner with friends or a date night. The interior has a polished, slightly moody energy that fits the style of the food, and the layout accommodates both small tables and larger groups comfortably. It can get busy, so making a reservation is a good idea if you are planning to visit during peak hours. The biscuits are easily the standout item and are a must-order. They come out warm, buttery, and incredibly soft, making them one of the most memorable dishes on the menu. The restaurant is designed around sharing, so ordering a variety of small plates is the best way to experience it. We tried several dishes and found the flavors well balanced, with the shrimp and grits delivering a rich, savory depth and the fried chicken offering a crispy exterior with a juicy interior. The mac and cheese was creamy without being too heavy, and the variety of flavors across the menu made it easy to sample several different dishes in one meal. The cocktails are also worth exploring, with creative combinations that complement the food without overpowering it. Service was attentive throughout our visit, and the food arrived at a steady pace despite the restaurant being busy. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and offered thoughtful recommendations, guiding us through the small plates format without pressure. The atmosphere stays lively without feeling overwhelming, though it is definitely on the louder side during dinner service. The energy of the room adds to the experience, and the pacing of the meal allowed us to enjoy each course without feeling rushed. Prices are a little higher than average, but that is expected for the Back Bay location and the quality of the food. Buttermilk & Bourbon is a great option if you are looking for creative Southern-inspired food in Boston. The combination of excellent biscuits, flavorful shareable plates, and a fun atmosphere makes it a destination for a meal that feels both polished and approachable. It is especially suited for dining with a group, where the format encourages exploration and sharing, and the lively setting adds to the sense of occasion.

We also had the chicken sliders and pulled pork Benedict, which were good but nothing to write home about tbh (the chicken slider was a little fishy weirdly). Drinks here are also fun!
