This was by far the worst experience I've had at Cava. Joel was incredibly rude and dismissive--when I politely asked for extra lentils and even offered to pay more, he flat-out told me no. My boyfriend also asked for extra super greens and received the same rude response. Both of our bowls were half full, overpriced, and not worth the money. The lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was shocking. Joel's attitude was unacceptable, and it's clear that better staff training and customer service standards are desperately needed. I'm sorry Chipotle, but we need to see other people. I have CAVA in my life now. This place blew the doors off my expectations. I literally just searched Yelp for Mediterranean food and picked this place just because it was close by. The atmosphere is very modern and trendy but casual, too. It's set up like a chipotle where you build your own bowl at the counter and have the choice of sitting down and eating your creation or taking it to go. There's more seating than you think because they have a whole separate extra seating room, as well as outdoor seating. I was here at 12:30 and there were still a lot of tables available inside and 4 outside on the patio. The food is out of this world. I got a bowl with saffron rice, chicken, lemon herb tahini, and a buuuunch of other yummy ingredients. I loved how many choices there were. At first I thought the price was too high until I saw the portion size (look at my pic attached to this review). It would be very difficult/impressive to finish this in one sitting. I love CAVA! I didn't get a chance to order...first time at this location. The service has "DECLINED" drastically for most locations tbh. I am disappointed that this CAVA is conveniently super close to wegmans, but I will never spend a dime here. As I was being served...plate was starting to be made, and my server was distracted by another employee. This employee shouldve waited til my plates were completed to ask for his attention. what happened to customers first!!! It was as if my plate wasn't in the man's hand...and I wasn't standing there mid sentence explaining my order. NEVER WILL I walk in the place again. Such amazing and delicious build-your-own Mediterranean bowls! You can customize what you get to your preferences. You can choose a salad, grain bowl, or mix and match! The amount of food that comes in the bowl for the price of it is amazing! Each bowl also comes with a free side of pita. I'm always looking for good mediterranean food because i LOVE hummus and tzatziki. My custom bowl order was 50/50 grains and greens (half super greens, half saffron white rice). You can 3 free spreads/dips on top, definitely pick 3! I chose tzatziki, red pepper hummus, and feta spread. For protein I chose grilled chicken. And for toppings, they have so many options, I picked pita crisps, cucumber and tomato, pickled onions, and cabbage claw. Finally, you can pick a dressing, I got the lemon herb tahini. WOW. It was so good. I ordered it and got it delivered to my apartment very fast. It was still perfect by the time it arrived at my door. Got The Greens and grains food bowl. I got the super greens mix with brown basmati rice and black lentils. For my dips I got crazy feta, hummus and tzatziki. My protein was chicken and I added the spicy lamb meatballs. Toppings included tomato and cucumber cabbage slaw kalamata olives and crumbled feta. I then topped it off with yogurt dill sauce. All of it together was perfect and filling for lunch. I was energized the whole day and not weighted down by eating greasy food. Price is also reasonable considering the size of bowls you get. I removed a star because the staff was not very friendly. It was my first time and there was no one behind me and the lady was very impatient and was rushing me. I don't know why the staff was rushing when it wasn't that busy and they didn't even clean out the trash cans they were overfilled and the tables were dirty too. It makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is. Overall I was happy with my meal and I would return again. read more

Definitely value for your money. This place offers build-your-bowl options, in bowls or wraps. You can get a bowl for $10, a wrap for $9, or mini pitas for $4. Start with grains or greens, add some dips, pick your meats, add more toppings, then finish with some sauce. You get a free choice of meat included, but was informed you had the option of half and half so you can try more options. Got the grilled chicken and the beef meatballs. They pile on the toppings in addition to the plentiful amount of greens and grains, and the amount of meat is pretty good as well. Other customers I saw were also carrying overfilled bowls. For $10 plus change, you get enough food for two or three meals, which is quite a bargain as most fast food places charge similar prices for less quantity. This would definitely be the kind of place I'd frequent if I weren't cooking. read more

I tried falafel pita, which was ok but too salty. I was surprised that some employees don't remember how to make the default wraps/bowls.

First time visiting this restaurant. (3 of us). Wonderful service and very fresh, mouthwatering food choices. From the moment we entered we knew it was a good choice. It was a Tuesday evening about 9:30 pm and everything was still appealing to the eye and the senses. Often when it is near closing it can be messy, dried out and past time of serving. Not the case here. They were still very busy handling to go orders and in person orders. They took time to make sure new customers that entered were greeted and current customers waiting were checked on. No one seemed to mind the wait as they were actively working as quick and efficiently as possible. They worked well together, were polite to each other and did not let the stress of so much work at once show. I was not familiar with the choices but I was with the process of ordering and layering my meal. I spent a few moments reading the menus above the station as well as the cards attached to the glass by the different offerings. Even so the employee who served me made sure to take a moment to explain what they had and offer his suggestions when I wasn't sure what to get. What a wonderful experience and fabulous meal. I found value in the food for the price and felt as if I had been served a meal personally as a valued guest. Thank you, we will definitely be back. read more

Cava is great, especially this location! Located right in the heart of Back Bay among a plethora of options this is a great place to grab a meal. The space is clean and well organized with easy labels so you can get whatever you want in your bowl. I recently went and got supergreens, chicken, tons of vegetables, sauce, and toppings. You can get as many toppings as you want for free which is great for someone who is indecisive like I am. Plus up to three dips! Everything tasted fresh and you could see the staff refilling everything to make sure it was fresh. The customer service here is great! Everyone is friendly and makes sure you get exactly what you want on your bowl. They are also happy to give recommendations if you're unsure on what to get. Food is pretty good but pretty Luke warm, including the drinks. The people working there look like and behave like that really hate there jobs; I feel for them but you shouldn't reflect that on people that are polite towards you. I try to order off the menu and I guess some of the staff seem clueless as to what I'm ordering half the time and just proceed to make me make my own bowl with whatever I want in it... Which works I guess for some, but not for those that aren't familiar with the items they have. The store is clean enough. I'll stick to the location near Fenway instead. CAVA is quickly becoming one of my favorite chain restaurants. The staff is friendly and quick with your order. The food is fresh and healthy and tastes AMAZING! The staff here were super rude and don't know what was up with them. My friend and I came here two weeks ago for the first time because we heard really good things on tik tok and thought we would give it a try. The food was great, the service not so much. For starters, we didn't know what to get so we asked for recommendations and the girl who serviced us had such a rude attitude and didn't seem like she wanted to be there and made it seem like we were bothering her? I'm sorry? Anyways we move. Lol After we got our food, we noticed there was hardly any utensils and the tables were super dirty so we had to clean them with few napkins they had. There was no hand sanitizers upstairs or downstairs. No soap in their bathrooms, mind you covid is still very much active and monkey pox is very active and on the rise, I don't know who is managing this location but please get your employees in check. It's a hot mess. They rather sit there and laugh then service people and seem like customers are inconveniencing them then help. Kinda surprised since its such a busy spot with a lot of foot traffic where it's located. Expected more, especially for a $23 bowl lol. Really disappointed with my experience. read more

CAVA tries to be the Chipotle of Mediterranean food, but unlike Chipotle they're super stingy with their portions. For the $11 I spent on this sad little bowl, I could've gotten a fat burrito WITH guac down the street and still have change leftover. As a fast food chain (though they market themselves as health food, lol) you either have good ingredients or good portions, and CAVA is a strong 'meh' on both. If you want Mediterranean, Halal Guys is better, cheaper, and doesn't try to gaslight you about being healthy. read more

i could talk about how much i love cava for hours! it's basically like the mediterranean version of chipotle (but better, in my opinion). -you can order for pickup through their website or app. you can also just come in person to order, which is what i did. i came only a couple of minutes after they opened, so there wasn't a line. -the service at this particular location was okay. the worker didn't necessarily give off the most welcoming vibe but it's fine. she had trouble hearing me, which led her to add some stuff into my bowl that i didn't ask for. the portions were decent and filling, but not as big as some of the other locations i've been to. -both cash and card payments are accepted. -there are a few tables set up outside on the sidewalk, but there are also some inside too. 12/4/21 -greens + grains bowl: my go to order has a base of half supergreens and half brown rice, grilled chicken, persian cucumber, tomatoes, pickled onions, corn, lettuce, tzatziki, red pepper hummus, and tahini caesar dressing. i'll never get tired of it! the ingredients seemed to be pretty fresh and i loved the chicken! it was cooked just the right amount and tasted great. i could've gotten a side pita for free, but i skipped out on it this time. i couldn't really find any significant differences taste-wise between this cava location and the ones i've been to in nyc, so i really don't have any dislikes. for $11.42, you can really get a filling meal. after all, you can customize it the way you want, without having to pay extra for most of the options. (5/5) overall, i'll seriously never get tired of cava. i wanted to round down to 4/5 stars, because of the service, but i really couldn't complain about the food. i might come back to this location in the future or try a different one, but who knows. i'd highly recommend that you come here to try building your own bowl. it'll definitely be a satisfying meal! read more

My first time at Cava and I thought it was great the staff at the back bay location were friendly with smile, and patient like I said it was my first time ordering and I can be indecisive when excited and hungry at the same time. I ordered the half super grain and saffron rice with lamb meatballs and falafel. One thing I didn't like about the falafel were the whole chickpeas otherwise seasonings were right on. I added the different veggies and I think lime sauce all together very good. Sat outside at the tables with umbrellas and enjoyed a beautiful spring day people with my bowl people watching. The service again was exceptional, with a lunch rush making the line out the door go fast and smooth. You can also order ahead if preferred. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

Today was my first time at Cava. I've always heard great things and have been meaning to go for a while now. As it turns out, it lives up to the hype. My server was friendly and patient in explaining how it works: you pick a base (grain or green), three dips/spreads, a protein, veggies (as many as you want), and finally a sauce. For my base, I got half brown basmati rice, half black lentils, for my dips I got hummus, crazy feta, and eggplant red pepper dip, for my protein I got half chicken, half falafel, and for my veggies I basically got them ALL, and then for my sauce I got lemon herb tahini. The meal came out to around $11. I would describe my meal as an explosion of flavors. For some, it might actually be a little bit too much, because there are so many different sauces and dips and textures you can add free of charge. The falafel was a bit sweeter and softer than I expected (but still good) and the banana peppers had a spicy kick. I will definitely be back, as I think the portion and the variety justify the price tag. read more
