    Greek Salad

The city can always use an upscale Greek spot and Avra delivers! The layout and decor is very chic and cool which attracts people to stay for a while. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful with picking out the best items on the menu. We ordered the Greek Salad, Classic Spreads, Branzino, Grilled Vegetables and Roasted Lemon Potatoes. I appreciated de-boning the Branzino for us as well - they guarantee 95% of the bones will be removed. Everything was 10/10 - so fresh and delicious! They also provided complimentary hummus to start and sorbet for dessert. It is on the pricier side but the quality of food matches the entire experience. Will be back again!

Coconut cream cake taken at an angle so you can see it's a very nice generous slice !

2nd time back. Grilled shrimp and Greek salad made perfectly; feta fresh and good seasoning on salad. Coconut cream cake and coconut sorbet were out of this world. Very pretty decor and excellent service.

Such a beautiful dining room! I was a little put off with all the marble stairs to second floor where the restaurant is located, I walked up in high heels...since I didn't see where the elevator was, my bad...and yes it is a place for the well heeled! Put those Christian Louboutins on and be bougie! So easy to do here...along with over eating! From the octopus, the lovely bread service, to the perfectly cooked lamb and lemon potatoes! We paired it with a pretty sparkling rose, all the wines are Greek on the list. We finished with the chocolate cake that was rich, decadent and big enough for a table of 4...as opposed to 2 girlies...but we managed to do some damage, capped our night with ouzo shots and attempted those crazy stairs down! Def recommend! Service was attentive, thoughtful and not intrusive but always seemed available.

Boston, we've officially entered our "beach club seafood era" with the arrival of Avra. If you have ever had those iconic Avra chips (paper thin, perfectly crisp, dangerously addictive) you already know why this opening matters. And now we don't have to hop on a flight to get them. What makes Avra so fun is the whole experience: you walk in and are immediately drawn to the stunning bar then sashay your way down to the iced seafood display, where you literally pick your fish like you're at a luxe coastal beach club. Branzino? Lavraki? Tiger Prawn? Yes, yes, and yes. Everything feels fresh, intentional, and just a little indulgent. The menu leans beautifully into pristine sashimi and bright, citrusy ceviches that let the quality of the seafood shine. It's clean, vibrant, and exactly what Boston's dining scene was missing. Between the lush green and posh aesthetic, the energy of the room, and that interactive "choose your catch" moment, Avra isn't just dinner, it's a whole vibe. Safe to say... we'll be back for those chips alone with a creative cocktail.

As soon as you walk into the main restaurant, it's very clear they put a lot of thought into the design. It's beautiful, clean and airy. Service was top tier, including the table side fish deboning. We ordered the avra chips, crab cake, grilled octopus, lamb chops, whole grilled Branzino, grilled king prawns and finished with the avra special dessert. The only sliiight complaint I have is that I wish the avra chips (fried zucchini and eggplant) were a touch more crispy and a little less salted but the cool creamy tzatziki balanced the salt. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in boston!

We chose to sit outside; it was a chilly fall evening when we went last year, but we got some lap blankets which was a nice touch, so brownie points for service. My friend and I split the pastitsio (meat pasta dish), kotopoulo (a chicken dish), louza charcuterie, and tiropita (halloumi rolls). The rolls were stuffed with halloumi and were dense in the best way possible. Coupled with the louza charcuterie, the appetizers were a hit. The two entrees were small but mighty - they were packed with rich meats but also featured microgreens, herbs, and other tangy, bold flavors that really balanced the dishes. We got some glasses of Greek orange wine that I can't remember the name of but it paired excellently with the food per our waitress's recommendation. Overall, a solid Greek option if you're in Back Bay! But definitely make a reservation if you can.

We got the Tiropita rolls 5/5: the best of the lot. Crispy on the outside and doughy and cheesy on the inside. The Greek honey butter and olives were perfect! The dish was also too dry. The wine was great! The server had us try a couple and helped us pick. My partner's wine was delayed so they took off the wine charges on our final bill.

We ordered two flavors: Olive Oil & Sea Salt and Caramel & Pistachio, both priced at $7. I'll admit, it's a fun concept and a nice addition to the menu. The Olive Oil & Sea Salt was refreshing and had a subtle savory touch that made it different from your typical frozen yogurt. The Caramel & Pistachio was my favorite of the two, with the crunchy pistachios adding a nice texture and the caramel giving it just enough sweetness. That said, I had a hard time justifying the price. While the frozen yogurt tasted good, the serving size was fairly small, and I never really felt like I was getting $7 worth of dessert. It felt more like an Instagram-worthy upsell than something I'd go out of my way to order again. I'm glad I tried it because I was curious after seeing so many posts online, and now I can officially check it off my list. If you're already at Saloniki and want to try something a little different, I'd say it's worth ordering once just for the experience. Overall, I'd give it 3/5 stars. It's refreshing, unique, and a fun twist on frozen yogurt, but I don't think the value matches the price. I probably wouldn't come back specifically for the frozen yogurt again.

It is located in a busy area, which made for a livelier experience. When we arrived, we eyed some outdoor seats, so we rushed inside to order food hoping they'd still be available. I was going to order one of their pre made bowls but I couldn't resist the freedom of building my own. I went with a super green and brown rice base, harissa chicken as my protein, roasted eggplant, harissa, and crazy feta for the sides, with all the toppings, and a garlic sauce. I got a side of harissa pita chips with a green dipping sauce. It is by far one of the best lunches I have had in my life! There's just so many flavors in one bowl, and everything was very fresh. The harissa chicken is very tender and flavorful. I heard that harissa chips are going away....I am willing to sign any campaign to have them stay on the menu permanently. We did end up getting the seats outside but they really do need more chairs. I'm not sure if they get relocated to other places over time, but I think there were 8 tables (2-4 people) and 4 chairs. The prices are good for the quality of food you're getting. Their drinks are unique and good as well. We mixed a couple lemonades together, which enhanced the flavors.

We were seated promptly and the vibes were really great since it was commencement weekend in Boston with several large parties celebrating the occasion. The passion martini was a great way to start the early evening dinner, followed by a dozen of their freshly-shucked oysters. I am disappointed, from the very start to the end my experience was quite bad. The kitchen did not allow a bread substitution for the sandwich we ordered, they did not do waffles at this location either, and when we got our food the portion sizes were very small. The salmon was very overpriced for how much they offered; $27 for a piece of salmon only a few inches across was insulting, but apparently that is just how it is served there (picture below, you can see the pieces of broccoli are almost as big as the fish!) The other dish we got was the chicken sandwich, which is cut into two halves. The first half was normal but there was basically no chicken on the second half of the sandwich, it was essentially all bread. We brought it up to a manager and they got us a new piece of chicken, which fit entirely alongside the old piece of chicken on the bun because it was so small. On top of that we had to wait around nearly half an hour after finishing and had to flag down a waiter to get our check and go. The service overall was very slow. I will never come back to this restaurant.
