Greek Salad
Denae P.

The city can always use an upscale Greek spot and Avra delivers! The layout and decor is very chic and cool which attracts people to stay for a while. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful with picking out the best items on the menu. We ordered the Greek Salad, Classic Spreads, Branzino, Grilled Vegetables and Roasted Lemon Potatoes. I appreciated de-boning the Branzino for us as well - they guarantee 95% of the bones will be removed. Everything was 10/10 - so fresh and delicious! They also provided complimentary hummus to start and sorbet for dessert. It is on the pricier side but the quality of food matches the entire experience. Will be back again!

Boston, we've officially entered our "beach club seafood era" with the arrival of Avra. If you have ever had those iconic Avra chips (paper thin, perfectly crisp, dangerously addictive) you already know why this opening matters. And now we don't have to hop on a flight to get them. What makes Avra so fun is the whole experience: you walk in and are immediately drawn to the stunning bar then sashay your way down to the iced seafood display, where you literally pick your fish like you're at a luxe coastal beach club. Branzino? Lavraki? Tiger Prawn? Yes, yes, and yes. Everything feels fresh, intentional, and just a little indulgent. The menu leans beautifully into pristine sashimi and bright, citrusy ceviches that let the quality of the seafood shine. It's clean, vibrant, and exactly what Boston's dining scene was missing. Between the lush green and posh aesthetic, the energy of the room, and that interactive "choose your catch" moment, Avra isn't just dinner, it's a whole vibe. Safe to say... we'll be back for those chips alone with a creative cocktail.

As soon as you walk into the main restaurant, it's very clear they put a lot of thought into the design. It's beautiful, clean and airy. Service was top tier, including the table side fish deboning. We ordered the avra chips, crab cake, grilled octopus, lamb chops, whole grilled Branzino, grilled king prawns and finished with the avra special dessert. The only sliiight complaint I have is that I wish the avra chips (fried zucchini and eggplant) were a touch more crispy and a little less salted but the cool creamy tzatziki balanced the salt. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in boston!

Brilliant service! The waiters and waitresses are very nice and make you feel comfortable. They will give you a tour of all of their fish on display and are open for educational questions! The food is delicious and service is quick. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone with elegant and fancy intentions!

This is a very cozy spot and you can sit by the windows to look outside to Newbury or sit at their cozy booths. If you are a student you can get free fries as long as you show valid ID. For food we had the crispy chicken pita, pork shoulder pita, and fries & feta. Crispy chicken pita: if you want a nice juicy crunch in your pita I suggest picking this on the menu. The chicken was very juicy and flavorful. 9/10 Pork shoulder pita: had mixed feelings about this one. It is very juicy/watery from the pork fat that you need to be careful because the juice will start dripping from the bottom of your wrapper. It is overwhelming with flavor with a slightly sweet spicy kick. 7/10 Fries & feta: always hits the spot when you're craving fries with feta. The fries are very crispy and there is plenty of feta. 9/10

Overall tasty BUT our pork shoulder plate was missing a side pita slices. That was too bad because my hubby was looking forward to pita with this meal. Disappointed as we didn't get the full value of our meal. Pork shoulder was tasty. The fries were good and so was the limeade.

The format is build-your-own bowl or pita, similar to other assembly-style restaurants, but with bold Mediterranean flavors and plenty of fresh toppings to work with. The ordering line moves efficiently, even during busy lunch hours. The space is clean and modern, with a casual atmosphere that makes it easy to grab food to-go or sit down for a quick bite. Staff are usually friendly and generous with portions, especially when it comes to the dips and toppings. The menu offers a solid variety of bases like rice, greens, or lentils, along with proteins such as grilled chicken, lamb meatballs, and falafel. The real highlight is the spreads and toppings, hummus, harissa, tzatziki, roasted vegetables, pickled onions, and more which add layers of flavor and texture. It's easy to customize depending on whether you want something lighter or more filling. Portions are satisfying, though the cost can add up depending on your choices. Overall, CAVA is a reliable option when you're craving something flavorful but not too heavy. It's especially convenient for a quick lunch or casual dinner, and the customizable format makes it easy to switch things up each visit.
