Great service, prices, and food. My only problems were my steak and the lack of birthday acknowledgment. I ordered steak and scampi. The steak was tough like shoe leather. A manager cam by to check on how we were doing, and I shared my complaint about the steak. She immediately sent it back to the kitchen. Within 5 minutes a new steak was delivered. A million times better! That was great! Secondly, I told our server it was my partners birthday. All the restaurants I've been to have brought out some type of something with a candle in it. This was one of my favorite places to come for happy hour but the service has really gone downhill. I'm not sure if it's due to understaffing the saloon or servers themselves need additional training. Today we waited 15 minutes at our table still wasn't offered a water. i came with a party of 15ish to celebrate a birthday. our server was amazing! i think her name was angelina, she was super helpful & sweet. i ordered the tumbleweed onions as an appetizer & it seemed like there was more batter than onion. i don't eat meat & it is obviously a steakhouse so my boyfriend & i ordered the salmon dish & mushroom ravioli dish to share with one another. each dish costed $30 and the portions were incredibly small for the price. although, the mushroom was really good! i had a side of steam vegetables & they were pretty basic & tasteless. the ranch was super watery. boyfriend & i shared a brownie sundae, that was probably the best part of the meal. overall underwhelming experience. read more

I'll be honest customer service was top notch. Ambience was very country west. Wife and I got the dinner for 2. The salad was delicious with very fresh vegetables and what tasted like homemade ranch (amazing). We got the artichoke dip with seasoned chips delicious as well. Fresh bread was warm and fluffy. Now why I gave them 3 stars...I got the "9oz" prime rib, ya right. It was the smallest prime rib I ever saw I finished it in 5 bites more like 6oz raw, 4 1/2 oz cooked. That was a joke portion made for kids. Secondly the wife ordered the 14oz sirloin Medium. It came out well done. I think if your a steak house you need to have this down to a science. Now people make mistakes however, it took so long for our food to come out and the times that by 2 because we had to wait for our re-order. Last night we went to Cattleman's as part of our monthly tradition. We had a party of 5. Our server was Zach. Zach was an amazing server and took very good care of us. Even though it was super busy, he still kept checking in to make sure we were OK or if there was anything else we needed. He has an upbeat personality and was always smiling. Sometimes when things get busy servers seem overwhelmed, but Zach held it all together and we are very grateful for everything he did for us. All of our meals were probably the best we've had in a very, very long time. Kudos to the cook as well on the prime rib, filet mignon, and lamb. I have visited Cattlemens for 30 years all locations. Had a birthday dinner for 2 friends and it was a little disappointing. You can only order happy hour drinks and food in the bar which I have mobility issues and it was frustrating. My prime rib wasn't as flavored as usual and my two friend's rib eye was pretty dry. It's frustrating because I raved about this place and the experience wasn't great. Pretty disappointed. read more

I live about 45 minutes away and the service and food makes it all worth it. My partner and I always like to arrive at the tale end of the evening so we always feel bad for being that late group (we arrive at least an hour before closing) but here, we were welcomed by Tara O. Food is pretty good, but our server this past time was amazing! Went for my wife's birthday, because of the spiked blackberry lemonade. Never had a bad time at this place, but this time, we had Caitlyn as our server, and she was awesome! My wife and I are both pretty dorky, and do t hide it, and Caitlyn just joined right in with the fun. She was also very quick with everything, and really made the night a lot better. We really appreciated her hard work, and fun personality. On a separate note, we also noticed how clean all the decor was. We never really looked before, but most places don't keep their taxidermy all that clean, and this place was spotless! We love to go to Cattleman's. My husband and I have dined there several times and it has always been a great experience. The staff are always happy to see us the minute we walk in. We are shown our table in just a few minutes. The food is always delicious and just the way we ordered. The waiters are so attentive and make our experience wonderful. The whole time we are there, it is a fun and great time. We always have food left over to take home too. We went here for my father's birthday (they sang and he got a hat) and it was great food and even better service. At first they told us there were no booths and told us it would be a 40 min wait (we did have a reservation) even though the restaurant was not packed. Another waitress said it was ok to sit us in the open booth. She was very kind. When we sat down Caden was our waiter and he was AMAZING! He went above and beyond. He made sure everyone had everything we asked. Drinks were never low. He cleared things without being asked. He even brought out a salad with all the toppings on the side because my mother doesn't eat tomatoes but we all do. That place today was Cattlemens in Dixon, CA (along I-80, closing in on Sacramento - 20 minutes away). THE SETUP One of my metrics for gauging how well a drink is prepared is using a *favorite* item - for Mexican food, for instance, is a cheese enchilada. For a simple cocktail, that was an Old Fashioned on this occasion. DELICIOUSNESS! On this occasion bartender Sophie served me up my drink and asked if I wanted a splash of freshly squeezed lime in it. That took me aback for a second because I know I had never been asked that before. Being a lover of all kinds of citrus, I said, "Hit me up, Sophie!", and she squeezed it for me. Sadly, I have no food photos to share as all thoughts were lost except for devouring the beef ribs and lamb lollipops ordered from their happy hour menu. My only regret is that I do not live near a Cattleman's restaurant. The servers were all pros and extremely patient with me and my table mates many queries. The bar and tables in the bar area were sturdy and the room lit at just the right happy hour dusk lighting. I highly recommend the lamb lollipops. The server informed me that I could order by the rib as I just wanted one or two beef ribs and not the full meal-that was a game changer for me. I made a reservation and was able to be seated right away and was pleasantly surprised. There were big parties that were waiting, but in my small group it was zero wait. I really enjoyed my server, Jake he has a great positive attitude and pulls a smile out of you, which Is appreciated. I ordered the Ribeye and had both a twice baked potato and a sweet potato with pecan butter. I had the recommended blackberry lavender lemonade which was good too.
