    Steak N' Lobster (Thursdays)

My hubby and I enjoyed our dinner, but would not recommend if you are looking for a quiet , romantic dinner. It was very noisy and busy. We saw our server once. My steak was definitely well done. I asked for my filet mignon well only because it is such a thick cut. It was served spilt and over a bit cooked. But still tasty. The bread is amazing. Cocktails were ok.

In this small CA city of 7500 people, this is the steakhouse that you must try. We were seated immediately at 8p before the stopped seating at 8:30p on a Wednesday night. The server we had was Desiree and she was WONDERFUL. Her customer service was on point and we appreciated her. We ordered: 1 Filet Meal cooked Medium Well, 1 Wedge Salad, Appetizer Scallops, and 1 Buckhorn Steak Sandwich with 8oz of thin sliced steak on a brioche bun. Our food was at the table within 15 minutes. The Filet Mignon came with Mashed potatoes and broccoli. My wedge salad was perfect it was a super large portion. My Husband's appetizer scallops were prepared well and he says they were good. I ordered a peartini, which was delicious! We were both super full and wanted dessert but could not bear to have anymore.

We ve been here annually for a long time as a group. It's our treat dinner for a excellent Beef dinner. So Filet for each of us. The grilled vegetables were just ok, peppers better than broccoli. But the shared loaf of bread and the shared caesar's were delicious. it actually opens at four as opposed the the information painted on the glass entry doors. We really enjoy to sit in the booths on the Bar Side. We had a nice Server named Guy, who was very attentive. Nice Dinner.

Came here for dinner while I was in town. I got there around 5pm and got seated immediately. The staff were friendly and attentive. The ambiance is low light and noise level was great. The food was also really good! The food breakdown Stater (5/5): - mushroom soup ($6) (forgot to take a picture) - creamy and great flavor, would recommend. Entree 5/5: - Baseball Sirloin($38) w/ loaded baked potato(+$2) - the black peppercorn with the sauce for the steak was chefs kiss and if you like baked potato, the loaded baked potato was a great addition to pair with.

Excellent service and great atmosphere. Salad was very refreshing. Steak was top notch. And prime rib was pretty good too.

The original buckhorn located in Winters in their nice little city area that has both a bar area, a separate bar area, and a dining area. It gets busy here after work and you can make reservations. We had a reservation for 5 (4 adults and a toddler) at 6, but we came early for drinks at the bar at 5. There are def bucks on the walls, nice cocktails and strong drinks, plenty of service. We moved over to the dining side for dinner and we started with appetizers-- brussel sprouts, Cajun steak bites, and garlic truffle fries. For our entrees I got their roadhouse chopped salad that comes with Tri tip, they didn't ask me how I wanted it but I like it medium rare and it felt right. The salad was amazing and huge! One of my friends got the Tri tip bites as an entree and added fried shrimp. Someone also ordered the grilled salmon and then another got the char Tri tip well done to share with their kid and added garlic mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and string beans. Since we were celebrating a birthday they gave us a candle with their mocha almond cookie ice cream which was super good! There's street parking up front and multiple parking lots surrounding the area.

Had a wonderful anniversary dinner here tonight with my wife. I've been coming to Buckhorn for many years, often for special occasions. Tonight was another great meal with delicious food. Service was wonderful, kind and helpful. Ambiance was busy and elegant (my kind of elegant - taxidermy). Recommend coming to try this place, delicious food.

Great attentive service even though it was very busy. Huge portions. I had rib eye and husband had prime rib. We both thought rib eye was better although both delicious. Next time I'd like the waiter's feedback on portion size and what would have been a good plate size to order.

First time at Buckhorn! Great service! The food was great. The rib eye was delicious. One thing to know is the portions are a big size. I recommend sharing. We did that. The restaurant is clean and has animals on the wall which was cool! I recommend this restaurant!

Buckhorn is a staple for my family! We've been coming here for as long as I can remember. It's also a staple for my husband and his family. Together, we continue the tradition of coming here for special events. We visited the steakhouse over the weekend for my mom's 70th birthday and as always, it was a hit. We made a reservation well in advance and were seated immediately. Service was great and the food was phenomenal. We started with the grilled artichoke appetizer and that was delicious. I opted for the boneless ribeye (served with my choice of mashed potatoes and a seasonal green) and ordered a side of peppercorn cognac sauce (additional charge). Wouldn't reorder the sauce (too sweet imo) but my mom had a side of their "A2" steak sauce and I loved that. Their steaks are aged and always great. I also recommend their prime rib. 10/10 I love Buckhorn!

Best value steakhouse I've ever had. High end food at reasonable prices. Steaks are as good as the Chicago steaks I've had. Sides and beverages are just as good.

Food- wow! Delicious rib eye steak medium rare was on point! The baked potato was baked just right. Broccoli was ok. The peppers were yummy! My margarita was delicious and perfect. The appetizers were delicious- scallops were delicious, artichokes were excellent seasoned and the calamari were ok. Service was great from our server. Ambience- interesting building in a vintage building. I highly recommend if you are traveling from SF to Sacramento off the highway 80. It worth the stop.

    Cocktails!

One of the best meals we've had out in a while!! The grilled artichoke was perfection. My husband's tri-tip has kept him talking about it for a while now. My prime rib was tender and delicious! Nothing was over cooked or over salted which is a huge win!! The cocktails were so good! I had the paper plane and my hubs had the old-fashioned. Robbie, our waiter, was just attentive enough! Outlook water glasses always full, and dirty dishes cleared. Honestly, not sure what could have been better! We will be back!

It was early, around 4:00 p.m., and there were only two people dining inside. They agreed and eventually placed two tables together indoors. My thought was, why was this not offered from the beginning, especially given the heat and how empty the restaurant was? The ambiance was great, but unfortunately, the food was not. I ordered a salad with chicken. The salad was very skimpy, with only two thin slices of apple, two small orange slices, very little feta, and mostly lettuce. The chicken portion was extremely small and was served separately on a plate rather than sliced and placed on the salad as ordered. The other dishes were also small and underwhelming. The burger and fries were nothing special, and the spaghetti was plain and lacked flavor. If you are looking for great ambiance, this may be a nice place to visit. But if you are looking for great food, you may want to consider other options. For a great burger, I would recommend Buckhorn instead. It costs less and is much better.

Always a good time at C2!…read more I don't always make the trek here, but when I do, I make sure to visit C2. The service is superb. The staff is courteous and friendly, and they check on you during almost every course to get feedback. The dim lighting, personal lamp on every table, and white tablecloths give it the classic steakhouse feel. They used to have these cool light-up menus that illuminated as you opened them. I'm a little sad they don't have those anymore due to vendor issues--it was a small, thoughtful detail that really made a mark on me. The food is great. The steak is always perfectly seasoned--not overly salty or overdone, just right to the point where I don't need to add anything else. Even the roasted bulb of garlic that comes with the steak is perfect for adding extra flavor if I want to. The sides are what you'd expect from a classic steakhouse. One thing that sets them apart, though, is the bread. They always have a great variety, plus a huge helping of butter on the side. If this place were closer to home, I'd probably be here every other month. So it's probably a good thing that it's far away.

Very Disappointing and Unfair Surprise Charge…read more We have eaten at C2 Steakhouse several times before, and this was by far our most disappointing experience. We were a party of five and ordered two steaks, along with several sides and other dishes. When we received the bill, we were shocked to see three "Shared Plate" charges at $8 each -- an additional $24. The server never mentioned this charge when we ordered. What makes this even more frustrating is that we ate here just two months ago and were never charged a shared plate fee. If this is a new policy, customers should be clearly informed before ordering, not find out about it only when the bill arrives. I spoke with the manager, and she kindly removed the $24 charge for us this time. I appreciate her handling the situation, but I still feel this policy is unfair when it is not clearly communicated to customers. An $8 charge simply for sharing an entrée feels excessive and honestly comes across as nickel-and-diming customers. We spent a significant amount on our dinner and expected better transparency and customer service from a steakhouse of this level. If you have a new fee, please tell your customers before they order. Don't surprise them with it at the end of the meal. Very disappointing, especially because we have been here before and had a much better experience.

We had about a 10-15 minute wait, which honestly wasn't bad considering how busy they were. The menu had a lot of great-looking options. Two friends ordered the chicken fried steak, another ordered a veggie/Mediterranean-style omelet, and I had the carnitas huevos rancheros since I'm gluten-free. Portions were generous and the food was good, though not necessarily something I'd rave about. The biggest issue during our visit was the service. Drinks and ordering started off fine, but when the food came out only two of the four meals arrived. My friend and I ended up waiting quite a while longer and had to flag someone down to check on our meals. We were told the ticket must have gotten mixed up and our food would be out shortly. By the time our dishes arrived, our other friends were basically done eating. One side order was also forgotten. To their credit, they did remove that item and gave us 50% off the delayed dishes, which we appreciated. I completely understand that busy restaurants can get hectic, but better communication and table follow-up would have made a huge difference. Overall, cute spot with decent food and good portions -- just hoping the service experience improves.

This is a 4 star restaurant with 5 stars for nostalgia and loyalty…read more I remember as a kid growing up in Fairfield and then Richmond, there was this special restaurant that had the biggest steaks ever and buffalo heads on the walls. Whenever we would go there,it was always a great happy dining experience and being in Dixon,it felt like a different world than the places in the Bay Area. As I grew up and moved to Sacramento area, the restaurant took on a much bigger meaning,it was my father's favorite spot to eat and it has always been the halfway point for my relatives who live in the bay and myself in Sacramento whenever we wanted to meet up for dinner. So yes I will always love Cattlemen's in Dixon for the memories alone. Let's talk about this particular recent visit. I made a reservation for a party of 9 at 6p. The parking at this location is plentiful as they have their own lot and even during its busiest times, there are always spaces available. When we arrived it was crazy busy and they told us it was going to be a bit for our table as they were running behind,so we headed to the bar to hang out and wait for our table. The wait ended up being over an hour after our reservation before we finally got our table. I was not thrilled at this but I was trying to make the best of a not perfect start to our dinner. The management and wait staff was very apologetic for the unexpected wait, which I appreciated. By the time we sat down we were ready to order immediately after having so much time to look at the menu while in the bar. In our family the most popular thing to order is the Original Steak Dinner for Two. We usually pair up with someone at the table and coordinate our order in that way. What that order gives you is a choice of 1 appetizer -Tumbleweed Onions -Artichoke Cheese Dip -Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail. On a night like tonight where we have multiple people ordering this, all the appetizers eventually get ordered and we kind of just share them all. Personally my favorite is the Artichoke Cheese Dip. Then for the Entree each of you get to choose one of the following -9 ounce Prime Rib -6 ounce Filet Mignon -Half Rack or Pork Ribs -14 ounce NY Strip Steak -Grilled Salmon -Steak and Shrimp Scampi My personal favorite here is always the 14 ounce NY Strip. And finally we get to pick one of 3 desserts. -Deep Fried Apple Pie -Cowpie Brownie Sundae -Pete's Pan Cookie My personal favorite is the Brownie Sundae but I'm usually so stuffed,I generally have to take my dessert home,so I almost always select the Deep Fried Apple Pie as it reheats the best at home. This order for two runs $84.99. I find it to be a pretty good value for all that you get. I failed to mention with this order we also get their yummy bread service, unlimited salad and also baked beans. Once the food arrived,it was all very enjoyable,I've always been a fan of their steaks and this visit was no different-very juicy and tasty and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The manager stepped up and comped all the appetizers on our bill to make up for the one-hour delay-their team is always so good at taking care of their customers. Overall, even with the rocky start,we had a very enjoyable dinner experience and look forward to the next time we are able to get out to Dixon to have some Cattlemen's again.
