Went during their soft opening and they advertised they are getting customers to review the meal items however no one asked us what we even thought of our food! (We were the only ones in there yesterday between lunch and dinner time). Fish tacos were really yummy. We also he the halibut main dish - the fish was really fresh and nicely cooked. However the sides with it of rice and a couple veggies (tasted like minute rice along with a few pieces of red peppers) left a lot to be desired. The amount of rice served with the dish was very little - either add some other sides like potatoes and maybe asparagus or up the amount you're currently serving. Service was okay - not horrible but also not too interested in how our first experience was going. I would go back to try more items as the fish was lovely- but I recommend they up their sides game for the price! read more

The service was great, the food was terrible. How can this place be a seafood restaurant when there are only a couple entree dishes? We had a family of 8 dine there on Saturday night and one person enjoyed their meal. Meaning 7 of us didn't. I'm not sure how we didn't get sick from the broken mussels. We ordered baked mushrooms that came out cold and gelatinous, and the seafood salad was sub par. I feel like we wasted 400 dollars with drinks included. Thank god you can't screw up bottles of wine. Although they were out of our first two choices so we had to settle on a third. read more

Nice service good food attractively presented. They offer a gluten free menu with reasonable number of selections.

This is the new version of the Charthouse restaurant that used to be here. Great location if you're in Steveston, but it still needs a bit of work. The food is better than what the Charthouse offered and quite fresh. Nothing spectacular and the menu is a little small. I had a garden salad, halibut and some dessert that I can't remember. The halibut was quite good, but everything else was forgettable. Service needs to be more polished... the server didn't even bother to put the cutlery straight when coming by and just put it in the general vicinity. No bread service. This place also needs blinds! It was quite uncomfortable when dining as the sun was setting - totally agree with Cassandra B. on this. Hopefully some of the kinks will get fixed with time, but right now there are better options in the area. read more

Visiting from the US and picked this place because of the reviews and location. We had an amazing waiter, food was great, as was the drinks and dessert. We were not disappointed in least. The menu is fairly small but it didn't make a difference for us. Would definitely come back! read more

Excellent service. Halibut cooled to perfection. Warm seafood salad has excellent flavours, potatoes cooked perfectly. Amazing views of the marina and boardwalk. read more

Good food and attractive views of the Steveston pier and waterways. We had lunch there today and enjoyed the fresh Cod. They need to find another hostess though. Very cold and impersonal to us coming and going. read more

Absolutely gorgeous views from patio. Very friendly service, tasters of beer we wanted to try and the chicken with leek and bacon sauce was excellent, as was the fish burger. Would definitely recommend. read more

Very modern looking. It is a sports bar so it can get noisy. Most of the menu is seafood focused but there is some non seafood offerings like a simple burger. The service was neutral, nothing to write home about. Prices were a bit on the high end given the location. I wouldn't come back but tagged along as part of a meet up. read more

Beautiful location and view. Negative on the food. Person who made the fish tacos has definitely never been to Mexico. Bland, boring and bagged tacos chips with salsa from a jar. Teriyaki chicken was similarly bland. Mussels were nice but serving on the small size. Dessert was delicious. Beautiful view. read more

The best restaurant in Steveston with amazing views all year around. It truly is run first class with management always around to make sure all guests are happy. In the summertime they have one of the best patios in the lower mainland with breath taking views . Food is fantastic and you will not be disappointed. Reservations recommended read more

Okay - just went there with my family for lunch. No one greeted us and there wasn't any staff at the bar either so we sat ourselves. There were only 6 other people in the place. We waited and waited and waited. Ten plus minutes go by someone finally comes out of the back! She went straight to another table and proceeded to ring up there bill. Fair enough. Another waitress came out with another tables food. She didn't acknowledge us. Then She started to clear other tables. We are still waiting. The other girl is still tallying up the other tables bill. So we walked out. No one said anything- very disappointed in Catch. So here we are at Dave's Fish and Chips and are eating a lovely fish and chips lunch! Got served immediately and the waiter is fantastic!! read more

I was at Catch recently with an out of town visitor, we looked it up and had 4 stars so we went in. Maybe it was the time of day? about 2.30 on a Saturday afternoon but the service was terrible( not busy) and the food was very bland. I had a prawn and scallop linguini, the linguini was dry, the seafood had no flavour. I tasted like it had been thawed out and added to the pasta after. The sauce was supposed to be a wine and butter sauce, practically non existent. Very disappointing! read more

1. No blinds for the windows. The sun was setting around 6:30 and the sun was bright in our eyes. 2. No options for platters. We requested to a salad instead of fries but were told that they could not do that. 3. Small menu, only one page. 4. No blinds. 5. Pushy waitresses, don't let you sit and relax, try and rush you to place an order. 6. Not a very nice assortment of desserts. 7. No plates just cutting boards holding all the food. 8. Super salty fries. 9. Flies in the restaurant. 10. No blinds. read more

Without a doubt the best view on the waterfront. Great beer selection, clam chowder was delicious, and the salmon entree was amazing. Service was excellent, and I would come here again without hesitation! read more

SERVERS WAKE UP!! We have been to Catch ( the bar side) many times since they opened. We love Happy Hour, and the food is always good. The bartenders seem to be very capable but, the support staff is slow and unorganized. Quite often, staff don't seem to be very observant when people arrive. You can sit there, and it takes to long for them to approach for your drink order. It's too bad, they just need to step it up in that department. I think maybe it should be more clear to the staff, who is looking after certain details. Sometimes it seems they are a bit oblivious. read more

Ouch.. for the price of their wings I'd hope for more meat. Napkins is next to customer service... non existant... till I needed to pay the bill. You know service is bad when your dinner partner asks you not to make a scene. Been here before and seems that tonight is just my night. I'm disappointed with this Steveston standard. read more

Really surprised about the low review here. We stopped by here during happy hour and loved the Mojito's and the appetizers. Love to come back. read more

Broken shells in the linguini, extremely slow service, really rude servers. Overall a really poor experience. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Richmond area. Steer clear! read more

Very disappointed with the food. The only good was service. Food is way overpriced and tasted awful. We order calamari, snow crab soup ( only one small piece of crab meat and the soup tasted very bad), lamb shrank ( the mashed potatoes is very salty), lemon halibut with rice ( fish is ok) and fish and chips ( the batter is so thick and fish is tasteless, the French fries tasted bitter- maybe the oil is not fresh!) read more

First time there today. Group of 8 and everyone enjoyed a different menu item, chicken burger, sliders, Cod fish & chips, linguine with mussels, lemon butter halibut. Everyone enjoyed their meals very much. The dessert selection is small but the Toffee pudding cake with vanilla ice cream was so, so good... Our waitress Precilia was wonderful, pleasant offered suggestions when asked and was checking to see that we all enjoyed our meals. This restaurant is a wonderful addition to Steveston dining and the outdoor patio was to die for with the view of Mount Baker and all the boats below. I will definitely be back read more

Love the happy hour especially in the summer on the patio. The breaded chicken sandwich with havarti is great. I am also a fan of the dry ribs and Asiago Chicken and mashers. Drinks are always on par as well. I see a lot of people blast this place on here, not really sure why, it's a great Steveston spot! read more

One of the very few places in the area where they cater to the needs of both the people who love seafood, and the people accompanying them who can't stand it. The people in my party had the fish and chips and I had the house salad and beef dip. I'm told the fish and chips were very good and for my part, the salad was great and it was the best beef dip I've ever had. We had excellent service and our server was very friendly and very much on top of everything. The place has great views, and the prices are also very reasonable. My only gripe was that they had run out of wings on our visit, but that didn't really diminish the visit. We'd all definitely come back and eat here again. read more

Catch kitchen and bar is a welcome addition to the Steveston waterfront. Wicked views from both dinning room and the sports lounge. One of the best spots on the west coast by far. Food always excellent. Great cocktail bartenders. Cocktails Off the menu...no big deal they know their stuff! read more

The double lobster tail dinner is amazing, I have it every time I go here! I can't wait for isolation to end so I can come back here!

We had a company dinner there. It took 1.5 hours to get an appetizer and 2 hours to get dinner. Food was not bad, a little bit saltier than normal. I had seafood fettucine. They do have upscale prices, but definitely not upscale food and attitude. As a diabetic, I had to ask 2times for a couple slices of baguette and was always rejected that food was coming. When I got my appetizer (green salad) it was so sour that I almost fainted before I received 2 slices of baguette from a manager. This was very serious. Waitresses were not friendly and did not care about my request, even when I stressed out that I was as a diabetic! This unfortunately affected my evening and I was not very pleasant companion. read more

Went there for the dine out menu. I got a scallops and bacon to start with. The bacon are so crispy but not over cooked. It is a perfect match with the small scallops. The main course lamb shrank was huge!!!! The skin was crispy and the meat was juicy. Felt like i was eating beef brisket! The dessert was a triple chocolate jar. It was too sweet for me but it was tasty. read more

Great potential. Nice, clean looking location with a great view and potentially great food. The essence of the food is good but the cooking leaves a bit to be desired. We had the halibut (cooked about two minutes too long so it was becoming rubbery and tasteless) and daily chowder (needed a bit more flavour - salt and herbs (dill???); also the crab cakes (good but a bit on the high side with the filler but very tasty with the aioli) and pepper steak(great steak but medium rare turned out to be medium well) and a veal chop which WAS perfect (nicely cooked, flavourful and nicely dressed. So, a bit of undercooking as this kitchen could become one of the best in the area. The wine list is small but the prices are excellent and the staff are friendly and professional. I will go back and will look for improvement. read more

They have an elevator to the second floor where you can enjoy the best views from the deck. Food was excellent and staff was great. They make a good ceaser read more

I had a really enjoyable dinner here. The food was great. Calamari was light and crispy, and not over cooked. The pacific salmon was moist and flaky, served with a nice selection of vegetables. The server we had was prompt, atmosphere was good, and the location offers a spectacular view. read more

Nothing special. Not worth the price. Food was good, not super good, just good. Service was average.

Could be so much better. I've have been to the bar side of restaurant quite a few times and the service is mediocre at best. Staff is friendly enough but they don't seem to get it. Very inattentive. Just look around once in a while. No one likes waving staff down. No sign of any real management. Food is reasonable but recent order of sliders was sub par. I think the problems of this establishment start at the top. Are the owners actual publicans and/or restauranteurs.? If you don't know how to train your people, pay someone that does. A good model would be Britannia Brewing. Not perfect but usually a very good experience. read more

Nice little addition to Steveston! Tuscan chicken flat bread was amazing as well as the artichoke dip. I had the chicken burger and it was fantastic. My boyfriend had the beef dip and he was a little disappointed on the amount of beef in the sandwich - it was a pretty thin layer. He said that overall the taste was pretty good. Our waitress was great but it did take a while for our entrees to come out. I thought I was worth the wait, I'll definitely be coming back :) read more

The view was spectacular but the food was so so. My blackened salmon was overcooked. The Pinot Noir was very good. I will give them another shot. read more

Great location and views, ambience lacking - a bit sterile. Needs fireplaces and large accessories for example. Ate in the main dining room. Food was generally O.K. but not outstanding. Pear salad was small and you had to search to find 2 small pieces of pear - for $14 ? No specials or draws, such as meal of the day, happy hour, or 2 for 1's. This may be planned later. Limited menu for now. At the upper end pricewise of what our group felt the market will bear. Not a sense of great value for money at this point. read more

Very good restaurant with a good combination of earth and sea food; the crabs are excellent. Expensive restaurant but delicious.

I love the view and the environment of the bar, it's not so loud which gives me some pleasure to enjoy my dinner time with my friends there. The food quality is pretty good, and the price is quite reasonable! So I'll definitely go again! read more

Had a great experience. We sat outside overlooking the harbour on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon . It took a few extra minutes to get service but that was the only negative. Once the waitress greeted us, it was great thereafter. Ordered the seafood jambalaya and I'd say it was the best I've ever had. Would definitely recommend this place to enjoy everything that Steveston has to offer! read more

We had a great night at Catch... the one exception was our table was stuck out in the middle of nowhere... it was the weirdest thing the place was packed on a Sat. night and we had a table in the middle with about 10 feet around us in every direction. A little weird and uncomfortable.. We bumped into some friends at Catch and until they recognized us they were making fun of the fact that we were an island unto ourselves. Besides the very unusual seating arrangement... the wine, food (ribs & pasta carbonara) and service was excellent! read more
