I hate writing and updating reviews. I hated it even more when it's a negative one…read more This place used to be all about comfort: cozy vibe, warm service and food that felt made with care. But somewhere in the last few months, the kitchen's lost its touch. Two weeks ago my pasta came out looking rich and promising, but the cheese had clearly been melted ages before- cold, congealed and sad by the time it hit the table. I had to send it back just to get it warmed. Then came their famous chocolate ganache balls we love with strawberry coulis. Except now, the scoops are deformed with zero coulis and replaced with caramel instead. Why change something that worked so well? Hubs and I thought maybe it was just an off night. Came back Halloween weekend with my daughter, hoping for some sort of redemption. Nope. Same story. Plus the Vegetarian hand pies my kid and I ordered were cold. The only thing still holding this place up is the nice menu selections that only reads well on paper and for sure, their cocktails: strong and creative.-

This was the BEST bolognese I have ever had. The noodles were homemade and cooked perfectly. The meat was delicious and savory. I will definitely be back for this dish. The food was served promptly and the service was polite and friendly. It is pub style, so you order from the bar and then they bring the food to you. The ambiance was charming and dimly lit. They had indoor and outdoor seating. They also had a very nice pool table.

The moment I stepped foot in the diner, I was instantly enveloped in a nostalgic and cozy atmosphere. It was full of charm with all the decorations. Definitely what you would picture in those classic movies/shows. Food was 10/10!! I ordered the buttermilk pancakes which is what they are most famous for and for good reason too! Fluffy and light and amazing portions (5 big pancakes with mixed berries)! The pancakes were so good that we bought a bag of pancake mix to take home. My sister ordered the eggs any way and she loved everything that came with it: eggs, choice of bacon or sausage, potatoes, and toast. Everything on the menu looked absolutely delicious and it was hard to decide what to order. They have weekly specials as well. Our waitress Susie was an absolute sweetheart and made our entire experience memorable. That being that we had asked her for some more water and by the time she came back around, someone else had already stopped by and filled up our glasses. She apologized for the delay by giving us a free chocolate chip cookie and it was the best damn cookie I've had in a long time. She went above and beyond for something that wasn't a big deal, but we appreciated the thought. I'd definitely come back here if I'm near the area.

It's a Catskill relic, so it was only right that we went! What a cute little diner!!!…read more We got there right when it opened because its first come, first serve. That was a power move on our part. It started to get packed quickly! The food was good! I got the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were nice and buttery. So soft. The gravy was great, too. It was lacking a TAD bit of flavor. I wish the sausage pieces were a little larger, too. The pancakes, which they are known for, were good! They were soft and pillowy. Delish. The service was good. Our waiter was spread thin for a little while her coworkers came in about an hour after we were seated. They had merch to buy and of course I had to partake! Such cute little souvenirs! Overall, a great place to visit!!! Especially if you're a Severance fan!

We sat at the bar and had a wonderful time chatting with the staff who expertly guided us through the menu. Best charcuterie I've ever had, and the resiling paired perfectly! We cannot say enough good things about Peekamoose!…read more Our party all agreed that we had a perfect night out. Peekamoose felt upscale and intimate, with incredible food and a talented staff. The entire staff was wonderful, but especially our server Anna. She seemed to connect with every table she served that evening, and her expertise on the menu made for an unforgettable experience. The menu is concise, but with enough variety to keep things interesting and accommodate everyone at your table. The menu changes seasonally based on local, fresh ingredients that are in season at any time. There were plenty of vegetarian options, and some that seemed vegan friendly as well. The seasonal cocktails were also very fun and refreshing, table favorites were the rhubarb-forward Triple Lindy and the Tattooed Genius. Such a fun start to our evening! For a night out, our party tried a wonderful variety of the menu. We were impressed with everything, and can't wait to come back and try the rest. All of the appetizers were very shareable, we adored the cheese curds and the chopped salad. The risotto and the beet tartare were both fresh and lovely. The lamb was delightful, but the chicken (Anna's favorite) was absolutely perfect. Our visit to Peekamoose and Anna's service was the highlight of our weekend in the Catskills, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

While a few OG, meat-and-potatoes restaurants still linger along backroads near us, hubs and I- now permanent residents in the Catskills since '24, have noticed how much the surrounding towns have evolved. And the spots that have been popping up are those that have a chic/boho/chichi/slash this/slash that style. Foxfire, was a nice surprise: a stylish, modern-farmhouse getup serving a simple menu that works no matter what eating lifestyle you follow. Foxfire felt incredibly cozy and inviting when we came here on a Saturday night to celebrate a new beginning soon. I mean...this is the kind of place you want to linger a little longer. Our server was pleasant and took his time answering my questions about whether certain dishes had mustard, mustard seed, mustard powder or Dijon. The Japanese Caesar salad sounded great on paper, but something told me to ask. Since mustard is usually part of a Caesar dressing and theirs didn't list it on the menu, I figured it was worth double-checking. Sure enough when I asked, it called for it. Next. We started with olives and creamy- but offbeat crab cakes. The cocktails looked great on paper but missed on strength. When both the starter and the drinks strike out, you get ready for a 3rd. Thankfully, the main plates kind of saved the night. Hubs liked his deconstructed "Farmhouse Chicken," sliced in 3 pieces ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and my Branzino was delicious. Service was solid though, but let's talk pricing: $18 cocktails with zero punch and a $40+ Branzino portion that was kind of small....hmmm. Don't expect the drinks or portions to keep up with the price tag.
