Casual Chinese Plus has no right being as good as it is in Cincinnati. "Dimsum" is a traditional meal served in China as a lively tea-time brunch affair, with family and friends sharing a multitude of small, steamed and braised tapa dishes served off of rolling carts. At Casual Chinese, dimsum service starts at 10:30AM every Saturday and Sunday. 100% homemade, made from scratch dimsum, served from a rolling steam cart as God intended. Properly strong oolong tea or fragrant, non-caffeinated chrysanthemum "ju hua" tea, served by the kettle. All the expected fixings like glass shrimp dumplings, xiao long bao, charsiu buns, shumai, and the traditional dimsum dishes like chicken feet, tripe, banana leaf wrapped sticky pork rice, and pork rib cutlets. The flavors are excellent, but what really gets me is the sublime, juicy-firm texture of the various meats and dumplings - a hallmark of dimsum that has never, ever been frozen. I've tried their normal menu too - their beef ho fun is decadent, satisfying, and filled with that wok hei smoky flavor. As a Chinese American myself, I had all but given up on finding good dimsum in Cincinnati. The only places that I know of either serve dimsum to order only (rather than by cart), or their dimsum is clearly frozen and premade, or both. That changes with Casual Chinese Plus. Whatever ethnicity or background you may be, I highly encourage you to bring your family over, and enjoy brunch the Chinese way.

Since moving from Houston, I've been seriously lacking for Asian food, especially dim sum. This place has finally filled the void for me. Loved the carts and the spread of dishes they had, especially the cheung fun. I'm not a shrimp person but the shrimp dumplings and siomai were bursting with shrimp. The desserts were mouth wateringly good and I only wish I had left more room for dessert! Will def come back

This is the best Sichuan cuisine I have ever eaten. I like the spicy chicken and tofu.

He was such a good person. He reminded me of my uncle or elder. He was talking to us about the history of chicken and where it originated from along with the sago dessert. Super informational. It's a small restaurant filled with cute toys, plushies, figures, etc available for purchase. Parking is street parking around campus and can be difficult to find. There are some neighborhood side streets that you can find and walk over. We got a few dishes to try and they were all fantastic! I really liked the Curry Laksa, Nasi Lemak, and the Hong Kong chicken was crispy and seasoned very well. They offer so many different dishes and options and they're all made well. Their prices are affordable and their portions are quite big. I recommend trying dishes from each category, you can't go wrong. We also got a couple bobas and I get my usual, durian milk tea. They're one of the only places I know that has this flavor option and they make it well. Overall, the quality of food is great and tastes delicious. Staff is super nice, kind, and patient. We took a little bit longer to order but our server was so nice. Our server recommended a few dishes and we got a couple and those were fantastic! I would recommend this place for a casual date, small group, authentic dishes, and delicious boba. Overall, a very comfy, warm, and welcoming place for delicious food and I recommend it.

We planned to order off of their lunch menu, and split a bowl of noodles for her birthday. Chinese tradition is to eat noodles on birthdays, so we asked the server what she recommended. She told us they actually offer complimentary birthday noodles! We were so surprised; we'd never heard of anywhere doing that before. We ordered the Twice-Cooked Pork Lunch, Fish with Chili Bean Sauce Lunch, and the Birthday Noodles. With lunch, we were allowed to select an egg roll, egg drop soup, or hot and sour soup. We both opted for the hot and sour soup. Even without the complimentary noodles, this meal was incredibly well-priced at $10.99 per lunch special. High quality dishes with plenty of meat and fresh vegetables. The noodles were simple but larger than expected, well-cooked, and delicious. My mom raved about this place. She hasn't had quality Chinese food at that price in a long time, and is telling all of our family members that we should go back when they're in town. It wasn't very busy, but we hope it was just the weather. Hopefully lots of people are supporting them! We can't wait to go back.
