Not a lot of options are this casino. Given the captive audience and nothing else within walking distance: this could be a winning formula. After having a mess of a pizza one night, figured I would give this place a shot. Ordered the fried potstickers and a chicken entree. Chicken comes out in less than 10 min. Potstickers, the app: nowhere to be seen. I asked the bartender/server. She said the first one was "still frozen" after cooking, so they are remaking it. Well at this point I am done with my meal, so kill the postickers app. Since it's an open kitchen, the cook seemed a bit pissed that I canceled. YouYu, you are a very confused Asian fusion restaurant. With a menu offering Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Indian, and Japanese specialties, it's no wonder YouYu misses it's mark by a long shot. First, let's talk about the bar seating - it's laughable. My crew and I are all above average in height, with myself at 5'7 being the shortest. Everyone else is 5'10 and taller. Yet, sitting at the bar in regular table chairs and the counter was just below my chin! I asked for a pillow to sit on but they had none and would not offer us a table. We laughed as other people sat down, many of them seniors, who all struggled with the counter-height. As a former restaurant manager, I'm shocked that they would even attempt to sit people here. Overall, food is subpar and disappointing. - Sushi. Just do not order it this far from the ocean. Not a good idea. - Wings. Sooo small for the price and lacking in flavor. - Hot & Sour soup. Tasted nothing like the real thing. - Pho. Bland broth. Smells great, tastes like nothing. Little to no meat! No fixings either. - Stone Bibimbap. Saving grace, this dish was tasty! My girlfriends and I were excited to try the new restaurant at hard rock with Asian street food. The redesign looks nice. Everybody was very friendly. Service was very prompt. My hot sake was very good and the girls martinis were delicious. We enjoyed all the food we ordered however a few of us found the bibimbap bowl incredibly bland. I would recommend the fry appetizer as a fun late night snack! The general tso chicken was good, and not swimming and sauce and not too heavily breaded--it might've had no breading. read more

The food and the service were atrocious. Our waiter forgot to put our order in. I got the short rib which was very chewy and had terrible flavor. My husband got the pork chop which was inedible due to the seasoning that was used. It's been a really long time since I've had something that bad. This week was the grand opening of YouYu - as expected with many of these things, there can be some bumps along the way - especially with staff training. The experience could've been better, both in terms of the food as well as service. At first, my friends and I were very excited about the prospect of having whole roasted duck at a place that would open until 2AM - we lovingly referred to our upcoming adventure as "midnight duck." However, we learned at 5pm that they didn't even have evening duck available (not whole, nor half, nor even a scrap of it for their duck egg noodle soup). That being said, we were there so we decided to dive in anyway. We had a decent sized group so each of us ordered a variety of dishes spanning their options for sushi, small plates, and entrees. Most of the food was of decent quality, though it was pretty clear that it wasn't really designed for an Asian audience - think of it as Americanized takes on popular dishes you'd get at Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese restaurants. While there were some sauce options on the table (i.e, chili oil and soy sauce), most of the dishes didn't come with their standard dressing - for example, the bibimbap didn't come with any gochujang paste, which was especially strange since they had gochujang fries on the menu - and the beef pho didn't come with any hoison nor sriracha sauce. Normally, that would be fine if the dishes themselves had seasoning but they were all pretty bland in flavor and we all ended up creating our own concoction of sauces in order to make those dishes taste like anything. As for the service, it was clear that they still needed to work some things out. When we asked our server for recommendations, they said "To be honest, I don't eat Asian food." Pretty odd for someone working at an Asian restaurant, not to mentioned the broad brush being painted over hundreds of vastly different cuisines from nearly 50 countries...many of whom who have influenced the majority of eating around the world. That should have been the first red flag. Additionally, we got served multiple wrong dishes, often with them forgetting about entire meals for certain members of our party entirely. It was clear that the server didn't know anything about what we ordered - several things seemed to be a best guess. When we asked for some water, they snapped at us and yelled "You're gonna have to wait a minute!" Wait we did, as they didn't come by again for the rest of the night. After about a 40 minute wait, I spoke to someone about getting our check - they told me they were short staffed but they would get it to us. However, they quickly forgot about us. Another 35 minutes later, a different server got our check...which turned out to be a complete mess since it had many different menu items than what we ordered. We spent over 3 hours at the restaurant, with only about 20 minutes or so eating. We watched as other tables came and went, while no one helped us. We later learned that our server left (which is why they never returned) and the rest of the staff forgot about us. We probably could have just left the restaurant and no one would have noticed, had we not insisted on paying. Needless to say, the whole thing left a bad taste in our mouth - which was most unfortunate, since I was looking at this place as a possible venue for events and wanted to be able to have a decent late night Asian food spot. In the end, we spent hundreds of dollars for fairly bland food and poor service. To be fair, there were probably people who lost much more on the slot machines and card tables right outside the restaurant. read more

This was my first time in to Youyu Noodle Bar and let me just say this place is pretty awesome! The service was fantastic. Maria was just everything you could ask for in a server. I am a foodie and the La Short Ribs were delicious. They have a decent variety of items to choose from. They serve their food "Asian street food style" so it's a great spot to share things! The portion sizes are large good for sharing definitely. Everyone working there were so friendly and smiling, it looked like they were enjoying their jobs and it made us feel happy to be there. I'm so confused with the service/ menu/ quality of the items. So to get the good stuff out of the way since it's not much the waitress was great, seat were comfortable , atmosphere was nice even when the casino was crowded. Now the real deal While waiting to get seated in what I can see was an empty seating area. There was no one to talk too for about 10-15 mins about getting seated. Once I finally caught a workers eye she asked me how many I proceed to tell her 3. She then proceeds to get into a full blown argument with another employee about whose gonna seat us and where... this goes for about 5 mins. Before the assistant manager who appears like Batman shows up asks us how many and seats us immediately; not noticing the argument that was going on with his employees. So yea that was awesome to see and deal with. The food meh ... got subpar tasting sushi that fell apart, giant dumplings for some reason... when do people make dumpling not bite size?? To top it off we ordered beef and broccoli to go which took a solid 30-45 mins after I paid the check to get done. We ordered the beef and broccoli almost 5 mins after we ordered our initial order of dumplings and sushi. The reason we got was there was only one wok working.... Okay stuff happened but why wouldn't you let us know this before we ordered ? We would've chosen something different if we knew there would be a super long wait for the food. Over priced food that's meh, two employees arguing about doing a job they're paid to do and apparently an Asian place that doesn't have more than one wok. So overall terrible experience maybe it's a bad day I caught them on so if I ever go back I'll give an update but if you want Asian food don't go to this place there is so much better in Cincinnati and way better taste for way better price in a timely manner. Extremely disappointing and a place to miss right now. I went here the other evening with my father as he had recently heard about it and wanted to show me around the remolded casino. First off the service was extremely sub par and seemed liked everyone was still trying to figure out what they were doing. There were multiple occasions of someone coming to our table and asking us if we ordered certain food that they were trying to find where it belonged. When we finally did get our food it did not come out together. I got my noodle dish first before my father got his duck ramen dish five minutes later and it was another five minutes before we got the single sushi roll that we ordered. The food was bland and lukewarm with the only saving grace being the spices available on the table for add ins. We kept getting asked about food we did not order and the staff just seemed extremely disorganized which would show in our finally twenty minute of the visit. Once we had finished, I ordered a Thai Tea bubble tea. 10 minutes go by and there was still no drink. We pay still waiting on my drink. After about another ten minutes and constant reassurances that the drink was coming I was informed that the drink was made but someone took it and that was the last of the Thai Tea. This was already after we paid and it couldn't be taken off the bill. They gave me a different tea but that still took another five minutes to arrive, luckily though it was the most enjoyable part of the meal. I do not recommend Youyu. The staff needs time to learn and figure out how to work in a restaurant. The food is bland and the menu is rather limited compared to what they advertise. If you are looking for some decent priced Asian cuisine in the downtown Cincinnati area look somewhere else. It's not worth the somewhat affordable price tag. read more

This place was out of over half the items on their menu. I finally settled for some spring rolls (they were out of egg rolls) and chicken fried rice. Food came out together, but at least it was quick the chicken fried rice was disgusting and seemed burnt. I've been waiting and wanting to try YouYu at the HardRock Casino. It had a lot of press when opening a few months back. I missed it a few times as it was not open when I was at the Casino. Today I arrived at Casino at 3 but YouYu didn't open til 5.? So I waited. The lettuce wraps were really bad - so laden down with what looked like barbecue sauce that one could not lift the lettuce to eat it. lettuce wraps are finger food but there is no way one could eat with fingers. For me, the worst I've ever eaten. YouYu needs to shop their competitors- try lettuce wraps at Oriental Wok (they are delicious) The fried rice was okay - nothing to write home about. At least the rice was not mushy and it was not bad tasting. Rice, bland chicken and a few carrot shreddings. The restaurant was very clean. However, they did not have any hand sanitizer (kinda important in a casino - at least to me). Giving it 3 stars is generous read more

Well three of us ate here tonight and agreed they get 2 stars. The spring rolls were ok, the sauce they serve with them is very watery and I couldn't cut the roll with the fork so I had to double dip so I did not share them. He lettuce wraps were 50% sauce, they weren't terrible but just not great, nowhere near PF Chang for sure. One person had chicken fried rice and it definitely had a burned flavor, we all tried it and agreed. The brisket and beef ball pho was ok, not as good as any other pho we've had. The beef ball was weird flat circular mystery meat. I would not recommend any of it. They try to serve you canned cokes, but I asked for a fountain coke and she had to check with someone????? They must have said yes, so she walked the 15 feet to the bar and obliged my request. read more
