I got my fave from Tea n Bowl this week and couldn't believe I hadn't reviewed them before. Time to rectify that right now! Like many Cincinnati places, Tea n bowl offers a variety of cuisines, however the Malaysian food really stands out from the rest! I almost always get the Ipoh Char Kuey Teow. Affectionately known as CKT, the slightly spicy noodles, plump shrimp, and fish cakes in this dish are an addictive and satisfying combination. I also never miss the Hokkaido milk tea. This is probably my favorite milk tea in the city. No need for boba- the flavor is top notch. In person, I've always received great service and via food delivery, my food was hot and delicious. You just can't go wrong.

Might be some of if not THE best Takoyaki in all of Cincinnati. The menu is so packed and fulfilling it can be a little overwhelming, but I can promise you that EVERY menu item is delicious and fulfilling. The servers (and owner?) are both so kind. We had a wonderful time talking with them. And the environment is an experience in and of itself. I like the different CDramas they sometimes play. It's entertaining!

I started going to Tea 'n' Bowl when I was a college student at UC and I was so glad to see it's still thriving so many years later. We walked in and I noticed that they have a lot of fun items to browse in the shop, trinkets, keychains, stickers, jewelry and more. There are a limited amount of dine in seats as well as a kiosk up front to make to-go orders. We opted to place a to go order for a couple milk teas and I ordered a coconut almond milk tea and my husband ordered a Thai tea. I browsed all the little gift items while we waited for our drinks. It was a bit claustrophobic in there, but you could easily wait outside if you prefer. My tea was delicious, just like I remember from my college days and my husband enjoyed his Thai tea as well. I wish we had time to stay for food, the menu has changed but I see people on Yelp have amazing things to say about their menu items. Next visit we'll have to stop in again.

In the middle of nowhere ohio, I was excited to hear there was a restaurant that specifically served Malaysian food. My family is from Malaysia and I missed the food having not been back in ages. I actually tried the laksa when they did a stall at the Asian Festival. I decided to try the wat dan hor.. something I missed, the noods were good! The roti was ok.. I was really expecting a fresh variety like the picture on the menu. This round pancake one that arrived was ok. The curry puffs were a little too fried, but had good flavor. Husband said the chicken was really good but the rice was a little too moist. The veggies looked well cooked (vibrant colors and not near death.) I would definitely visit again and try some other dishes

Small restaurant with delicious food, a cute asian trinket store, and quality boba! | Price per person 20$ | Rating 10/10 I always knew this place for their boba but the food continues to impress. Its a small place with only 4 tables but we got seated and served quickly. We enjoy family style so everyone shared a plate ranging from $13-18. The place looks great since they remodeled with cute trinkets to purchase and a leas crowded feeling. Food was amazing and the menu is immense. Everything had good flavor and some dishes like the roast duck were a different style from normal (they used a sauce instead of dry roast) but still tasted great! I highly recommended especially if you also want boba on campus.

Best boba tea I've ever had! I had the strawberry boba, and it tastes like strawberry pocky! There crab Rangoon is amazing, a little pricy, but if you have the money, it's worth it! The service is amazing! Very nice people. It's a very cute place. They have a lot of little trinkets and charms, I'm sure you'll find something you like!

We love this hole-in-the-wall, it's small, cozy, & charming! Filled with fun knick-knacks and trinkets for sale. They have a large, diverse menu for a variety of tastes. The staff is wonderful & willing to answer any questions you have.

This restaurant is a little gem along a crazy and hectic street. Parking was very difficult. I was fearing for my life crossing the street but the food was definitely worth the risk :) We ordered couple of the standard dishes from the east. The best dish by far is the beef stew. In fact, it could be the best beef stew I have ever had. The Singapore Fried Noodle was also very good. But I won't recommend adding shrimp as the protein. The shrimps were definitely frozen cooked with no flavor and the texture showed they were not fresh. I also would not recommend Drunken Noodle. This dish was more like a version of wet chinese beef chow fun and it was not very good. It lacked Thai spices in a typical Drunken Noodle such as basils. Their milk bubble tea was good. The guy working the cashier know the dishes well.

I was hoping to give a little more love to this place but the 3 dishes we ordered were hit & miss. If you like Chinese stewed beef (and I've eaten variations of this dish for dozens of years in dozens of restaurants throughout the world), Tea N' Bowl made this dish the best I've ever had. Full of flavor and a bit of spice. Pretty lean with just a bit of fat, and oh so tender. I chose the spicy version which had a little heat but did not overwhelm. The Singapore fried rice noodle was dry-ish and not oily. I flavor was good but could've used more seasoning. We chose shrimp and this tasted either old or precooked. Quantity was good. The Drunken noodle, normally a fully flavorful spicy yet savory and sweet wide fried rice noodle dish with good doses of basil, was a very sober dish. All the ingredients were there but none of the flavor. Thai dishes should be robust.....this one was very weak. Traffic and parking on this university area street is a nightmare, but the food almost makes it worth the struggle. But just read reviews and order accordingly since I found it to be hit or miss.

I'm always on the hunt for a good boba spot. I usually try to avoid this street because of the congestion, but luckily I was able to grab a parking spot right out front of this shop. The inside is full of live plants and fun decor. Plenty of boba and bubble options to choose from. They also serve food so I'll have to come back to try lunch when I have more time. The mango boba has a strong mango flavor and very soft boba. I'd ask for half sweet next time. Also the chocolate chip cookies are the best!! Would return

I really enjoy the food at this place. When I was sick I ordered the Laksa noodle soup and boy was it delicious! It definitely hit the spot. Recently, I dined-in at the restaurant with a buddy. We were craving savory Asian food and I was reminded of how great this place was. We ordered the chicken satay as an appetizer and it tasted great with the sauce provided. My buddy ordered the Masaman curry with chicken. He enjoyed it. I had a taste of it and it wasn't so bad, my only problem was the amount of potatoes they gave compared to the chicken. Protein was lacking. I ordered the pan fried Cantonese noodles. I was expecting the crispy noodles but received something else instead. It was delicious nonetheless. It was a bit oily, but that's kind of expected with pan fried noodles. The portions were very generous -- definitely worth it for the price. The server was very attentive and welcoming. We were attended to instantly. Although the food was delicious here, their menu was a bit too intimidating with the amount of items available. The pictures definitely helps for those unfamiliar with certain dishes. Will definitely come back!

The Thai Tea is delicious!  Rich, creamy and sweet. My husband and I stopped in for lunch today and enjoyed our meal. It's a small place with only a few tables but, luckily for us, there weren't many diners and we were able to get seated. My husband ordered the Szechuan Beef and I ordered the Cumin Beef. While the spice and seasonings were much milder than most other authentic dishes we order at other places - we still thought the food was good. I also picked up a Seremban Siu Bao to try later. The food came out quickly and the service was friendly.

Delicious, with flavors that really hit home. The balance of seasoning and freshness was spot on. I'll definitely be back for more!

After a search on Yelp we landed on Thai Pavillion and I'm so glad we did. Here's why... 1) I ordered on their website and it was a very seamless process. I liked that we were even able to select how spicy we wanted our food on a number scale. 2) The pick up time was not long after we ordered, even with it being in the middle of the busy lunch hour. 3) There's parking directly out front so I was able to simply pull up, throw my flashers on, and run in. It was there waiting for me when I arrived. 4) We both ordered the same thing, the pad Thai (spice level 1) with shrimp. We also shared an order of vegetable spring rolls. It came out to about $50 and that included a $5 tip. We both really liked what we got, but I'll stick with my specific opinion. The spring rolls were crispy and definitely hit the spot as an appetizer. As for the pad Thai, it was a great portion size, the spice level was exactly what I wanted, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. It didn't have an overwhelming amount of bean sprouts, which was appreciated. The sauce was rich in flavor and the noodles were just right. We both agreed that we would order from here again. It was the best pad Thai I've had in a while. Definitely give them a try!

The restaurant is quaint, yet open, and totally family friendly. Servers are warm and courteous, even when they are slammed during peak dinner time (6:30-8). You get to choose from a Japanese and Thai menu, which contain a wide selection of equally delicious dishes, including fresh Sushi. You get 3 good restaurants in 1! Some dishes we've tried multiple times and recommended based on balanced flavors and consistency are: THAI: Spicy basil pork- has sweet scent of holy basil and abundant sauce. Our favorite to pour over rice. Papaya salad- full of flavor, but be conservative on your spice level selection ranging from 1-10. If you want "medium" spice, go with 2/3. Panang curry- you can choose your meat, but it's traditionally served with beef, which I think it's the best pairing as well. You can never go wrong with Thai curry, unless you order above your spice level ;) Pad see ew- stir fried wide rice noodles, also known as soy sauce noodles, comes with your choice of meat and veggies. Kids love it because noodles are soft and sauce is sweet. Crowd pleaser. JAPANESE: Katsu don- crispy chicken or pork cutlet drenched in sweet & salty sauce mixed with scrambled eggs and caramel used onions served over rice in a bowl. Total comfort Salmon teriyaki- great, nutritionally balanced meal with perfectly grilled salmon basted with teriyaki sauce over rice, and a side of shredded and steamed carrots and zucchini. Never regret ordering this. APPS: shrimp shumai and miso soup SUSHI: Cincy roll, spicy yellowtail, salmon nigiri As you can see, there are a lot of good options here. Go with a bigger group and dine family style to get the most out of your visit.
