I decided to stop over at the Kroger market downtown and head upstairs for lunch. I don't know if I just missed it or if Dope was a newer food vendor inside. Either way, I had eaten there before but it was a few years back. I quickly eyed the menu and found something that caught my eye. I got my order in about 5-7 minutes. It did not disappoint. My daughter says this place is Dōpe! I'm trusting her that she didn't just get me in trouble! We landed in Covington and were headed to Blue Ash. Since we arrived a day early, we went exploring over the Rhine and Court street. Our escort kept talking about this quirky little stop and convinced us to try Dōpe! We caught free parking, walked in and immediately seated. The place was clean, cozy and starred some impressive graffiti on the walls. It's a very popular place but we managed to miss the rush. The staff were incredible. We were definitely spoiled. We like this. Even with seven guests, it was no issue. The excessive amount of food ordered didn't even phase these people. I have quite literally never been disappointed. I always DoorDash this when I get it and let me tell you, 98 percent of the time DoorDash restaurants disappoint. But Dope! Always hits. It's fresh, their to go bowls are high quality (yes this matters) they give you everything you need including chop sticks or sauce if you request it. Looking for a quick lunch option and craving dumplings, I tried Dope for the first time. The most notable thing about the whole experience was the employee. We did not feel welcome upon entering, it was almost like she was bothered to have us dining there. As this was a new restaurant for me, I tried asking a few questions about the menu options, and was again met with a condescending attitude. The dumplings came out, and I will say those were great, really the only enjoyable part of this visit. Definitely recommend the cilantro maggi aioli for dipping. Tried this place for the first time yesterday with my husband after an event downtown & we were both glad we did. It's located on the second level of the Kroger building. The service was great - the guy who took our order & made our food was friendly & the security team who was walking around also seemed very friendly. We split everything that we ordered, so I got to try a variety of things. We ordered two of the Boo Yah! Bao Buns - one Pork Belly (braised pork belly with slivered green onion, cucumber with spicy hoisin sauce) and one Lemongrass Chicken (chicken with arugula, sprouts, crispy onions with cilantro Maggi mayo). These are a bargain at $4 a piece bc let me tell you about the flavor they pack! Wow. The buns are so, so soft & everything inside is loaded with sauce & spice & deliciousness. I will admit the pork belly was my favorite by far, but the chicken was something fresh & different. Next as the Slammin' Banh Mi, we ordered the Pork Belly (pork belly with pickled daikon, pickled carrot, cucumber, cilantro and jalapeno with sriracha aioli). This sandwich was $7 & worth every penny. I loved the cilantro & cucumber & pickled elements - it all worked so well together. Finally, we had the Dope! Dumplings with Pork (ground pork, napa, and green onions). They had a variety of dipping sauces, we chose Sriracha Garlic Aoili. We got five dumplings for $7 & would order them again & again. I was so excited to have this place reopen because it was a fave a couple of years ago. I like that it's in the new Kroger eatery because it gives you the option of ramen plus all of the other great things that go with it (like a cocktail or dessert). We got delivery from here earlier this evening. They did an excellent job of packing everything up well. Nothing spilled during transit, which is a miracle since we ordered ramen. We had the beef bao bun, the Korean BBQ wings, the pork and shrimp wonton shoyu and the char siu miso. The beef bao bun was soft and fluffy, tender sesame beef inside with tangy pickled red cabbage. It was exactly what I had been craving!! The KBBQ wings were cooked perfectly, crispy but still juicy and the flavor was everything I love about KBBQ. The pork and shrimp wonton shoyu will be a hard thing to pass up next time we order from there. There were like 6 wontons in the bowl, the veggies were perfect tender crisp, the ramen was firm, the soft boiled egg added a creaminess to it all and THAT BROTH. Lawd that broth!!! With chili oil drizzled over it, allllll of my spicy umami cravings were satisfied! My husband enjoyed the char siu as well but probably would have enjoyed it more if there hadn't been so much fat on the shredded pork. It was almost all fat and he really had to work to get some edible pork out of it. He said it was delicious other than that though. We will definitely be back to try more stuff! read more

I came here for the pork miso ramen and ended up with the pork pan fried dumplings and char-siu bao as well! This place is a little hidden gem on the 2nd floor of the Kroger. I must say the ramen was absolutely seasoned to perfection. I ordered the spiciest broth and could feel little bits of red peppercorn tingling on my tongue afterward. It had such a strong taste with deliciousness mixed in. The bao buns were great the char-sui had notes of sweet. It was stuffed in with some carrots and other vegetables. I enjoyed the garlic sriracha sauce for the pan fried pork dumplings though I may try a different sauce like the spicy chili oil for additional heat. Overall the food is great and pretty tasty. I would say the ramen is really well seasoned and tasty though may cut back on the spice next time to savor more of the food. Additionally the pork belly was nicely salted and went well with the broth. I did notice restaurant is currently having a door dash promotion. Located in the Kroger, second floor. It's just up the stairs if you enter at the SW corner. I tried Dope! for the first time last month, including their wings and their Char Siu Pork Bao Buns. The Buns were definitely the highlight and very tasty. If I were to judge on the Buns alone, I'd say this is a 4 or 5 star place. The wings were a little dry for my liking, but I really had to bump them down a star because 2/3rds of the items that my date wanted were not available. Based on the server's response, I could not tell if they either ran out of or no longer provide the Coconut Curry Tofu Buns and the Thai Lime Tea. Both are still on the menu, so we were definitely disappointed. Not having the tofu buns really limited the number of vegetarian items on the menu. We ended up subbing in the Veggie Ramen and we were able to get the Chive Dumplings with the Sriracha Garlic Aioli. The dumplings ended up being a hit as well, but the ramen, which we didn't really want in the first place, was ultimately a disappointment. The prices here are fair and I definitely would like to try them again. I'm hoping that the unavailable items was just an aberration. read more

It's Wing Week! These wings had a unique taste that I enjoyed...from the cilantro, mint and garlic. I didn't see any lime. These wings were juicy and I like the coating, it wasn't too heavy. A great selection of Asian street food including dumplings (come as a portion of 3 or 5) and steamed buns and some ramen. They have some darn good wings too. This is in the new Kroger in OTR. This is just a walk up stand so I don't expect much in terms of service but I've been twice and the workers were very personable. The food also came pretty quickly. They apparently do a happy hour. I can't remember what time it starts but it goes until 6. I got $3 off my ramen for it. The wonton ramen was delicious. The broth is very flavorful and I had them add some spice to it. They can do level 1-3. I did level 1 and it was just a hint of spice. The noodles had a great texture.
