Best lobster bisque ever!!

This gem of a restaurant is a must every time we come to Cannon Beach! The staff and chef are amazing! The changing menu never disappoints and the good options always make it hard to choose what to order! Everything is excellent! Call ahead for reservations because it fills up fast...you won't be disappointed.

Lobster bisque

They should make it easier to get a reservation. We liked the vibe of the place. The service attentive. We ordered the lobster bisque 5/5, bone in pork chop 5/5, creole etouffee 2.5/5 (too much roux flavor). Although I appreciated the quantity of the seafood in the dish, a lower price and normal to étouffée. We had a dessert 4/5.

Our waitress was very sweet. We ordered the coconut shrimp which was a little dry but good flavor. Étouffée was flavorful but a little too saucy for us. The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked though. Great wine list and cocktail options.

Yummy yummy! Traveled in without reservations. Must be our day, we called they had a cancellation and we were in. Best meal to date in our OR travels - Bend, Nye Beach/Newport. We had Lobster Bisque, Etoufee, and Salmon. Everything was prepared perfectly, nicely balanced seasoning, and so flavorful. The atmosphere and service were smart, classy and comfy. Doubt we'll top this place.

My partner and I came here on a busy Saturday night and was informed there was over an hour wait. We placed our name down and walked next door for a quick drink. When it was our time, we walked back and was quickly seated. The space was very cute! We ordered and just chatted for a bit and the crab cakes came out first. It was so fast! But the best part, the crab cakes were amazing! The cakes were filled with Dungeness crabs! It was in every single bite. Our main entree came out soon after. I ordered the Seafood etoufee and my partner ordered the steak. The etoufee was amazing! Every spoon was full of seafood and the level of spice was no joke. I ordered level 4 and it was amazing. The spice took the dish to another level. However, my partner said his steak was a bit underwhelming for the price point; but the mashed potatoes and vegetables were good. We also ordered a warmed triple chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream to share. That dish alone was delicious. We will definitely come back the next time we are in town.

Been sleeping on this spot! Get a reservation now if you're in town. Their menu features creole and cajun dishes which are SO FLAVORFUL. Prices might seem high but you definitely get your money's worth. Quality seafood at a great quantity. We shared the Scallops and Polenta that came on a bed of this uniquely buttery and popcorn-y sauce. Both the scallops and polenta were cooked to crispy perfection. A rich dish but I would have loved to have one more. For mains, we tried the Jerk Back Ribs and Etuofee. The Back Ribs were big and juicy. Fall of the bone tender and covered in fruity sauce, paired with the sauteed vegetables and mango salsa this was delightful and filling. For the Etuofee, you can select the spiciness from 1-4. We're craving some heat and went with four and it did not disappoint. In hindsight, three would have suffice even for us who love spicy food but it's still so flavorful and addicting. Again, tons of big prawns, scallops, and crab legs covered in tasty sauce served with basmati rice. This was an amazing meal with such unique flavors, we didn't expect from a spot at the beach. Staffs were also so friendly. We'll definitely be back!

I thought the scallops were amazing and then the shrimp came out Collin is an amazing waiter. The chef Josh will find exactly what you need.

ISLAND STYLE CHICKEN SALAD CUPS

(The pictures are collected throughout the years) Overall- It's been 4+ years of coming here at least once each visit to Canon Beach. Sometimes back to back nights since there are multiple entrees (beef stroganoff and étouffée) that we enjoy. They also change the menu quite often. This restaurant is a bit more pricey but by far our favorite in the area and worth every penny. The chef has an amazing way of using spices to bring the dishes to the next level. The service is super friendly and they make you feel like you are going over to a friend's place to have an amazing meal. Food - - Appetizers: 1) Crab cakes are a must. It's a nice portion and comes with an amazing flavorful sauce (got a kick to it). 2) island style chicken salad cups. 3) lobster bisque is silky and flavorful . - Entrees: 1) étouffée is a spicy (flavorful and has a kick if you choose to have a higher spice level) hearty dish filled with large chunks of different seafood on a bed of perfectly cooked rice. 2) beef stroganoff (only closer to fall) is a hug on a cold night. The beef is so soft it melts in your mouth. 3) their steak dish (different cuts depending on the night) with the red wine demi sauce. The red wine is light and helps bring out the steak flavor without being overpowering. Dessert - only tried the brownie since most of the time we are stuffed after the appetizers and entrees.

Getting ready to have dinner here. Great outdoor vibes.

This place has incredible Cajun food. We started with the chicken salad bowls. They were a great light bite, packed with a nice citrus flavor. We followed it with the steak and shrimp entrees. Each cooked to perfection. Check out the margaritas. They were incredible! They were very fresh and clean. Perfect compliment to our meal. The service was great. Loved the chill attire from the servers. We felt like we were at home. Loved the house ambiance. We had a great evening! This place is a must!

Spring Chinook Salmon
Mehdi A.

A little restaurant on the north side of Cannon Beach. The menu is created daily based on the fresh ingredients they receive. We ordered a drink and tried the Caribbean Dungeness Crab Cakes, the Carlton Farms Bone-in Pork Chop and the Spring Chinook Salmon. The crab cakes were served with tangy/slightly spicy Bahamian sauce and some fresh mango pieces and slaw.... Very yummy. The braised pork chop was so tender, no knife was needed to cut it into pieces. The savory maple-bourbon gravy and mashed potatoes made this the best tasting pork chop we've had in a long while. The salmon was grilled to perfection served with just a hint of balsamic sauce drizzled on top... so good! We topped off the dinner with one of the dessert items on the menu, Marionberry pie with ice cream on top... yummm! The service is great with just enough attention without getting the feeling of being rushed. The ambiance is very good, perfect for a quiet dinner or a small party. Prices are a bit high, but the fresh, quality ingredients and the preparation of food is great and justifies the price. This is a highly recommended place for those special occasions when nothing but the best would do!

Ask the Community - Castaways

Do you guys take reservations or can you call ahead for a party of 6?

In my experience making reservations far in advance is your safest and best bet. With the popularity of Castaways I certainly don't like to risk not having one.

We were warmly greeted when we arrived. The menu is a little confusing for vegetarians, but we figured it out. Basically you can pick whatever is on the menu and choose what protein you want on it. We really wanted falafel however it's no longer available. They use a pea protein instead. Minus a star here as I think the pea protein while tasty, really changes the dishes we had. I had a shawarma wrap, SCW a gyro and we also got an order of hummus which came with pita. The food itself was good. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The tomatoes stood out for me as better than usual. The pea protein was tasty but added a different flavor profile than I was really looking for. When you want falafel it just doesn't taste the same. The hummus was good as was the pita bread. The service was great. I enjoyed the meal but I would not seek it out again simply because of the pea protein option. Of course it's great they offer a meat substitute but it wasn't something I would seek out for Mediterranean food.

But the most beautiful divine intervention led us to Becca at HB Catering PDX; It's All Greek to Me. She literally called me within 5-10 minutes of me posting a request on Bark, then was so unbelievably responsive, organized, affordable and professional over the next few months that my bride-to-be and I at first thought it was too good to be true and somehow a scam was in the works. Once we finally chatted on the phone about menu details, any suspicion or uneasiness was quickly dashed forever. Becca had us on the phone for over an hour, articulating her vision for not only the food but also nice little touches involving a color scheme for the flatware, table arrangements, bunting and flowers. After meeting her at the wedding venue, she had tremendous suggestions on how to best use the small space to accommodate our 50 guests and went over all the logistics. So we expanded her role to include wedding planning responsibilities. She was true to her word by the time we got married, over-delivering on both the inventive menu we decided on that included the most delicious Greek cuisine, as well as the look and feel of the venue. With a major assist from her lovely and talented daughter Hailey, we were blown away by all of their touches and over the moon with joy and satisfaction. My wife and I cannot possibly convey in words how wonderful an experience this was, and we highly recommend her for ANY event that you may be putting together!

For sure the best Lebanese food in Hillsboro, maybe the best in all of Oregon!…read more I've had Falafel in many restaurants surrounding Portland and this is the best by far. Very moist, tender and loads of flavor, unlike most places that serve it drier than a week old biscuit. Their Hummus is creamy and delicious. Atmosphere is warm, cozy Mediteranian; service was fast and attentive; food was abundant and delicious; prices are fair and very reasonable. It's rare to find a place that nails the "hidden gem" feel while providing such a polished, upscale atmosphere. Here is why Oasis is my absolute favorite: The Ambiance: The interior is beautiful and incredibly unique. They have these cozy, fabric-tented booths that make your meal feel private and intimate--perfect for a date night or a long catch-up with friends. It truly feels like an "oasis" once you step inside. The Mezza Plate Sampler: If it's your first time, you must order this. It's the best way to try a bit of everything--the hummus is velvety, the baba ghanouj has that perfect smoky char, and the falafel is served hot and crispy. The Lamb Shank: This is the ultimate comfort food. The meat literally falls off the bone and is seasoned with a blend of Middle Eastern spices that are aromatic but not overwhelming. Pair it with their basmati rice, and you're in heaven. Specialty Drinks: Their Rose Water Lemonade is life-changing--so refreshing and not too sweet. If you're a coffee lover, the Turkish Coffee is the perfect way to end the meal. The Experience: On Friday and Saturday nights, they often have belly dancing performances, which adds such a vibrant, cultural energy to the room. It makes the whole night feel like an event rather than just a dinner. Exceptional Service: The staff here is so welcoming and fast. Even when the restaurant is full, they are incredibly attentive and happy to explain the menu or accommodate dietary needs (lots of great gluten-free and vegan options!). Pro Tip: If you like a little heat, ask for their spicy garlic sauce. It's addictive and goes well with just about everything on the menu. Whether you're a local or just passing through Beaverton, Oasis is a must-visit. You'll come for the food, but you'll stay for the incredible vibes!
