Absolutely wonderful dinner. I've been here twice now, and my favorite dish so far is the avocado plate. They were out of crab that night, which was a bummer, but I had the option to substitute scallops instead, and was NOT disappointed. They also do a pretty darn good Chile Relleno, which says A LOT coming from someone who was born & raised in Arizona. Order the Cilantro Margarita. Don't question it, just order it. Trust me. Friends with whom we dined actually ended up purchasing some of the available artwork on display. The light fixtures, gallery art, and overall design is quite artistic and beautifully displayed. We really really wanted to love this place... it's incredibly cute inside, artfully decorated, and our large margaritas came in gorgeous glassware. Drinks were good (pineapple margs) and our server was terrific -- she was handling the whole restaurant by herself. But after seating and serving a large family group when they opened, the kitchen was totally underwater. All the other tables waited an embarrassingly long time, even for lackluster apps. I know it's a beach town, so prices are high, but here they are ludicrous for what you get. $17 for the saddest batch of guac I've ever been served. The wait would have been excusable us the entrees were good -- but they were on the meh side of average. The mole was especially disappointing-- no depth of flavor and woefully under-seasoned. I was embarrassed for them when we left. And no acknowledgment from staff that things were slightly off the rails... I hope they can get their act together and live up to the bold, interesting decor. read more

Let's start with the positives. The service was great - very attentive and accommodating and tons of hustle. The ambiance was nice but here's where it goes south... $18 for chips and gauc. Guacamole chips were deep fried flour - greasy. $18 for a marg? Drink was fine but $18?? Shame on me. But never again. Now for the food.. $38 for the mole. To say it lacked flavor just wouldn't do it justice. I'm a mole connoisseur and this mole was, well, kinda gross. My wife had shrimp tacos, which amounted to some chopped shrimp and seasonal greens on a tortilla. Food that looked like it was trying to present itself as artisan but minus the art part. By the time we were done, with tip, it came to over $160. Now, we live in cannon beach so we know there's the CB tax when it comes to eating out and but had a hunch about this place from two years ago but decided to give it one more try. So disappointing to leave disappointed. This seems like a place where the owners don't expect people to come back - vacationers just comin' through so we can charge ridiculous prices for below average food - we'll never see you again. The reviews are correct: There is a minimum purchase required per customer. There is a $5 upcharge to make something vegan, INCLUDING simply asking to remove ingredients as opposed to REPLACING them with vegan alternatives. My husband and I ate at Mi Corazon while visiting Cannon Beach. We'd been to the restaurant before and it has always been delicious. Yes, it is expensive, but well worth it for the quality of food and service. The ambience is beautiful. On 1/9/26, we started with guacamole and chips, my husband had the asada plate. He said the steak was tender and delicious. I ate the panuchos de cochinita, the pork was tender and had a fantastic flavor, the handmade masa little breads were soft and full of fresh masa flavor. It was served with a nice salad. We shared the churros for dessert and were not disappointed. We left with full, happy bellies. read more

Me and my husband were at cannon beach looking for lunch options- we decided to go to here due to close proximity of where we were at currently. When we arrived we were greeted and seated. After checking the menu I went with the wet burrito which came w salad. We are from Texas so we know mexican food well (Tex Mex all the way!). This is also not a place where they give you chips and salsa at the beginning. On there menu I remember reading something on the line of - this is a higher end Mexican restarant so don't expect the usual. The burrito was seasoned poorly- there was very interesting vegetables in the burrito too (vegetables I would never think to add to a burrito). The food is certainly high quality and I can appreciate the passion for using the best ingredients, but $49 for one carne asada plate (before tip) is a little extreme. No complaints about the service, both the server and owner were friendly. If price isn't an object for you, you'll probably love this place. In terms of quality it's easily on the higher end for Cannon Beach, but not exactly a spot for a casual (cheap) lunch. read more

Outrageously expensive for mediocre food. Do not recommend. We came to get takeout because we had our dogs with us. After looking at the menu we decided to order. The host informs me that they charge an extra $5 to make the burritos vegan. This wasn't on the actual menu, they just had a vegan option symbol next to it. I asked why, and he said they have to put special vegan cheese, sour cream, and tofu in it. I shrugged, and decided that we'd splurge and go ahead an order the $50 vegan burritos. We also ordered chips and guacamole making takeout lunch bill $80, after they take out an additional 20% for a tip. This is also outrageous. I always leave a tip when getting takeout, but a mandatory amount is unacceptable. The expensive burritos were hardly worth it. I didn't see much of any of the "special" items that were included in the up-charge. The chips and guacamole were delicious, but they only gave us a handful of chips to enjoy the guacamole with. Fabulous! Fine dining in Cannon Beach? Yes! And Mexican fine dining, which is not commonplace anywhere. What a treat! Everything about this restaurant experience was fantastic. The waitress, who was also the bartender, made a killer Jalapeño Margarita. The best I have ever had and I have had a lot! Just the right amount of heat to balance the sweet and tartness of the lime. Sooo good and served in a large, gorgeous glass. Of course I had to get the homemade chips and salsa, and while the $7 price tag may seem expensive, they are so worth it. Freshly made tortillas cut, fried, salted and served warm, it's hard to go back to store bought. The basket was plentiful and I even took half home for a snack the next day. The chicken enchilada dish was superb! It's not your typical enchiladas. On this plate, there were three small chicken enchiladas with a deeply flavored red sauce which are basically the "side" to a chicken breast grilled to flavorful perfection. Served with a salad of fresh greens, some beautiful purple potatoes and pickled onion to balance the richness, this colorful and healthy dish had layers of flavor and hit all complimentary notes.. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The restaurant Itself is filled with natural light and local artwork; the gorgeous chandeliers designed from pieces of colored glass in the shapes of leaves and/or hearts; the stunning paintings adorning the walls, the entire wall of the bar; it's bright and cheerfully eclectic. All Covid safety protocols were followed, my table was far from others, and everyone was wearing a mask. It was a lovely evening, a flavorful meal to end a wonderful day of beach walking and browsing the shops and galleries in Cannon Beach. Prices may be high for what most people expect for a Mexican meal but totally on par with a finer restaurant, which is exactly what Mi Corazon Mexican Cuisine is. Lovely flavorful meal. COVID details: servers wear masks. Customer masks enforced. Space between tables. Food details: fresh quality ingredients. The prices reflects this. If you are in town and see "Mexican restaurant " and think free chips and salsa, combo platters with refried beans, red rice and enchiladas swimming in sauce--move on. This is meant to be an elevated food experience. Flavors are thoughtfully combined and lovingly presented. I enjoyed the house sangria-well balanced. The chips were hot and fresh, made on the spot (not heated under a lamp.) the reduction in the steak was delicious! I would not say this is a family friendly establishment only because it leans toward "fine dining" and there is no kids menu. That said, we saw families there, and your child could find something to eat if they lean toward a flexible palate. As the establishment has limited seating I would suggest a reservation through it is not required. read more

They have vegan & vegetarian options for almost every dish on the menu. And be aware their lunch menu is different from their dinner menu! You must try the horchata it is so flavorful and rich! The tres leches pastel(cake) is *chefs kiss*. I was stopping by cannon beach and wanted to snag some good vegetarian food. I wasn't honestly very hungry and wasn't planning on eating too much. But then the food came and I literally gorged myself until I was stuffed! So I got the "la pendeja plate", horchata, and tres leches cake. The horchata is so flavorful it was the perfect start to my meal. It's a must. The pendeja plate is a chilli stuffed with a tamal that came with pinto beans, veggies, and a salad. What an amazingly balanced plate and portion sizes! The chili and tamale were so tender my knife fell through it and that's the exactly moment I knew this was going to be an amazing meal. It was hearty, cheesy, and had so much flavor. I loved this. I would literally just eat a bowl of these beans and veggies they were seasoned so perfectly. The tres leches cake was gorgeous; and the little heart churro in top was adorable and so good in the condensed milk. So tender, moist, and not overly sweet. Worse than zero! This place is laughably pretentious and rude hovering on downright cruel, I literally left in tears on my birthday. We traveled 4 hours round trip just to eat here. Called ahead to make sure they were open that we could get a table. We arrived on time for our reservation and the place was pretty empty as they were still transitioning over from lunch. It was so close to lunch time in fact that we were given both lunch & dinner time menus (super classy salsa- stained paper menus btw). We chose this place because of their advertised "vegan friendliness" even though there's an added $5 penalty should you want to actually order anything vegan. This isn't to make something that's not vegan, vegan either, it's just added on top of the ridiculously over-priced regular prices. They had postings everywhere exclaiming that there are $35 minimum! THIS PLACE IS VERY WORRIED ABOUT MONEY! Whatever, we aren't hurting for money and had planned on laying down big time for the occasion anyway. We started by ordering appetizers (chips & guacamole) and drinks while my partner still looked over the menu. I already knew for sure what I wanted, Their (v) nachos impressed me so much the time before that and actually wrote a 5 star review with pictures of them. Drinks and apps arrived on cue and now it was time to order, I excitedly said "Vegan nachos please ;)" confirming by proudly showing him the picture of them I'd taken from the glowing past review. He then said: "Ohhhh, yeah, I'm sorry we don't have it anymore." Confused, I said: "You don't have it?" "It was the menu that was on our table a minute ago and it's still listed on your website..." He said, "Yeah, but it's only offered for lunch." Visibly deflated, I held back tears and said, calmly and nicely: "Ok, well, since your lunch was just a few minutes ago and we did drive 2 hours here only for it, could you please make an exception, I don't mind paying the dinner price for it?" Tearful now and unable to even speak, I passed to my partner who said he'd have the enchiladas When it came back around to me, I felt trapped because I didn't want anything else, I came for those. I knew my partner wasn't going to be ok with me not ordering anything on my birthday and so he tried his luck reasoning too and asked "So, we can't just let her order the nachos?" "No, it's only for lunch." Stunned with genuine tears, I plead: "If you still have everything back there to make them and were just making them for other guests less than an hour ago, you even accidentally gave us the menu that they are listed on, you know we are fans who gave you a 5 star review in the past, we will be traveling 4 hours round trip today for it, it's my birthday, I'm visibly in tears, and it's something very easily correctable and you're still going to not make an exception for the sake of customer service?" He said, "No, sorry, it's just for lunch, no exceptions." I looked at my equally flabbergasted partner and with a collective nod we decided this was clearly not the place for us, said so, and started to get up to leave. He said "Ok, you can leave, I'm going to just go ahead and charge you for this then."
