Only gave 2 stars because waitress was nice, otherwise I'd give it one. Fried shrimp were smashed to about 1/8" thick and overcooked. Shrimp Relleno were way overcooked to the point they weren't even rubbery they were just hard. Shrimp taco's just nasty. Surprisingly the French fries were undercooked. We went here upon a recommendation from a friend. First impression was that music was playing very loudly when we enter. We were brought to our table and I asked for the music to be turned down some and the hostess acknowledged, and I believe did turn the music down a little bit. We felt it was still loud and impacted our ability to have a conversation. Additionally, the music was loud are in the bathrooms. The salsa was thin, watery, and without substance. The chips we're not warm, which is OK but we're borderline stale. Waitress was good and the tacos were good as well. However, between the loud music and the open echoey atmosphere, we do not think we would return. It wasn't crowded, and yet the few tables that were laughing or enjoying themselves coupled with the music made it uncomfortably loud. Nothing about this experience was good. Although the parking lot was full, the restaurant was pretty empty. You would think that would lead to better service but it didn't. The salsa was watery and the chips were bad. My dad got the cheese enchiladas with beans and rice and salad with a Coke. The rice was plain with no seasoning and the salad had no dressing on it. The server did put a squeeze bottle of tartar sauce and a bottle of ketchup next to my father so maybe one of them was supposed to go on the salad? It cost $18 and he said it wasn't as good as Taco Bell. The only thing he said was okay was the Coke. Nothing I had was okay. I got the shrimp tacos and ice tea. The tea was basically tan water. The shrimp tacos were impossible to pick up because they were covered in mounds of coleslaw that was mostly cabbage with almost no sauce and about three specks of chiles for the whole plate and deep fried shrimp that was also unseasoned. It came with a puck of plain rice. My dad got a fork and knife wrapped in a paper napkin but my meal just had a flimsy fork on top of my food so I had to borrow his knife and ask for napkins when the server came by, not to ask how things were, but to see if we needed anything else. I ended up eating the shrimp out of the tacos with some of the tartar sauce from the plastic squeeze bottle. Dad got out his card so we'd be ready to check out and then all of a sudden the server dropped off two more drinks and asked if she could clear our plates. It was obvious I didn't eat most of my food but she didn't ask about it or offer a box (not that I wanted to take anything with me to eat again). It took forever to get the check and she did apologize but like I said the restaurant was pretty empty so it shouldn't have been a problem. The total came to a few cents under fifty dollars. For those kinds of prices, I'd expect heavier cutlery, thicker paper napkins or even cloth and a ramekin of tartar sauce, not an industrial size plastic squeeze bottle like you might find in a fast food restaurant. This restaurant was a trifecta of disappointment and the high prices meant I had to work for two and a half hours to pay for this experience. Save yourself the headache and just go to Culver's instead. It's tastier, cheaper, and quicker. read more

I've been here a few times before a while back and it was nothing memorable however, I came back today with my sister and WOW, I was impressed. We ordered the botana camarón as a starter and it was so fresh and delicious! Our lunch entree was the Carne asada tacos and they were so well seasoned and also delicious. The flavor is so authentic. Great seafood and cocktails and attentive service. Stopped here after a road trip to some tourist attractions. Lots of shrimp and seafood choices. We had a shrimp appetizer which was very tasty and a strawberry and mango margarita. Strawberry margarita was delicious and you could tell they didn't make it with that sickening sweet mix so typical of many chains. The mango margarita looked like a piece of artwork. My shrimp entree with green chili sauce was delicious and tons of shrimp. My friends had shrimp wrapped in bacon and cream cheese. Great food. Saturday evenings they bring in live music. Boyfriend and I went here this evening for dinner and sat at the bar. After ordering two drinks, and looking over the menu we had to ask if we could order food about 20 minutes later. We finished the drinks by the time our food arrived yet the bartender never asked us if we wanted anything else to drink. Not even a glass of water. Finished dinner and had to flag bartender down to ask for a box, churros to go, and the check. 30 minutes later got the churros and waited for the check. Waited some more.....and some more. Asked for the check 3 times. Seriously about to walk out at this point. While we stood there obviously ready to leave, 10 minutes later finally got our check. Dear Southside Tucson, This is a case of food being good , wait service being decent but Management being bad. Long story short; there was an email and a phone call confirming reservation for 10 to 12 people under my name. However they wrote it down under the wrong name. They wanted to say I didn't even with proof that I did. They took us anyways but Management was very rude about it. Funny enough the name they wrote never showed up. Haha! I wonder why? Instead of apologizing for the mix up and their rudeness they avoided me and my party all together. Also tables could not be arranged to sit everyone together and they could only take payment on one check and refuse to split it. Yesterday my husband and I decided to order take out for dinner. We have been to this restaurant plenty of times and we live literally walking distance and the food has always been great. Him and I both got our own entrees and appetizer to share and my husband got the shrimp ceviche. The shrimp was not deveined! And not just one shrimp, literally every piece of shrimp in the ceviche still had the digestive tract in it. I get we won't get sick from it but it's still disgusting. We didn't eat the ceviche or the appetizer because it had shrimp also. My husband got tacos and he wasn't happy with it. He said the meat was dry and bland. My food was good so no complaints there. I contacted them yesterday and still have not received a response. Worst $60 spent plus they're trying to charge my account again so now I get to deal with that. Relatively new restaurant. Very clean and spacious. Greeted with chips and salsa made with chile guero (yellow jalapeños) very tasty. Would have been better if tostadas were warm. What you need to know Right off the bat is that this restaurant has more of a Mexican seafood menu than a traditional Mexican restaurant. For example rice is just white rice, not Spanish rice. You won't find crunchy shelled tacos, menudo or cocido on the menu. They put cheese on EVERYTHING, but its some kind of cheese that's not creamy, it solidifies as soon as it gets room temp. I peeled it off, was just too much. I tried the carne asada stuffed green chile pepper. Was just ok. Beans were good though. Toritos (shrimp stuffed jalapeños wrapped in bacon) were tough and jalapeños were not cooked through. I've had them in other places, and jalapeños were soft and juicy. not like here, felt like I was biting into a raw jalapeño. Glad I tried it once, but really wasn't my cup of tea. read more

The service was good, we ordered the shrimp cocktail, noticed something was not right, the shrimp had part of the shell on it and was not deveined. We lost our appetite real fast. They sent a young man to our table, he said this is how they serve shrimp. This is gross. The vein is a black intestinal tract of the shrimp where its poop is stored. Maybe this place needs a good inspection. They could do better for their customers well being and would attract more people by doing the extra step and clean the shrimp correctly.
