Michelada
Aaron W.

Well you can order a Michelada here, but you won't pay more! 15$ later (before tip) and it's not that its bad, just hard to justify paying more than anything else on the ENTIRE DRINK MENU for a beer and some tomato juice. Your up to date in my Michelada quest, I must keep looking as this isn't the spot.

Chicken Fajitas de Pollo delivery- mostly onions and peppers
Valerie W.

Gave this place one more try with a delivery order and was still disappointed. Chips and salsa...the salsa tasted like someone dumped a cup of water in it. So much so, it lacked any flavor. Chicken fajitas...the chicken was dry and charred to the point it was nearly inedible. Also tasted kind of like BBQ sauce which was weird? There wasn't much chicken in the order itself. It was mostly onions and peppers. Pollo a la crema didn't seem to have much crema it was so thick. While I didn't try it, the bf said it was extremely salty. For the price, it's extremely underwhelming.

Pretty big servings! It was super flavorful and had me way beyond full by the end of the night. My only wish was to have more of the rice. Waiters were incredibly nice and always checked up on our table. The real star was the Mariachi though! It really added to the vibe of the place, they are such talented musicians and artists. It was really nice to see my first mariachi performance live here. Come here for a good time, but if you're looking to have deep convos with you friends, you're gonna have a hard time talking over the music. Loved that the restaurant erupted into a dance floor at the end. Was such a beautiful night.

Enchiladas poblanos

Huge portions, excellent ambiance and actually good mexican food. Ditch the food truck down the street this place has FAR better food, salsa and service. Awesome spot!! Try the pozole... it's so flavorful! The enchiladas poblanos was really good too.

Ground Beef Nachos

Outstanding food, very good, I had chips and salsa, then ordered the Ground Beef Nachos. Very tasty, sample plate size. Wife got the steak fajitas, she talked with the chef, she thought the steak was bad, I tasted it, we asked the chef to taste it. He said it was fine but she just didn't care for it, they happily and insisted she could order anything else. She got the enchiladas, 1 chicken, beef and cheese. All were AWESOME! Would recommend this and would most certainly return. Great food!!!! Service was fair, bless her heart, it wasn't what job was, normally the cleaner... she stepped up and became our server, kind, friendly but being a server definitely was not her job. But very attentive when she could. Just not used to serving so things were a bit slow. But they were professional, kind and polite. The setting was clean, nice music, in the background, chairs and booth seating were comfortable and clean, bathroom was well kept and clean as well, nice full bar with seating... Nice place to stop in.

I was visiting the area for work and decided to stop in for a meal with my co-workers. We were seated immediately and placed our orders. Two of us ordered steak Fajitas and my other co-worker ordered a Cuban Sandwich. My co-worker liked his sandwich. My Fajitas were edible. The guacamole looked like it had been sitting out for a while. The steak was tender, but it tasted like it was slathered with some type of tomato sauce which gave it a weird flavor. Overall, I thought my food was okay. Not sure if another menu item would have been a better selection for me. 3 Stars

Quesadilla

My gf and I went to Casa Patrón on a Monday evening where it was surprisingly moderately busy. I ordered the Asada Burrito, and my gf got the Asada Quesadilla. We ordered a side of guacamole with the free chips that neither of us regretted. Honestly, the food was great. It was about what I expected; no frills but reliable, Mexican food. The tomatillo sauce was tasty and complimented the asada well. The vibe of the restaurant itself is nice cause depending on who you go with, it can be a family like restaurant, or a bar-like hangout with a group of friends. My only issue is how understaffed it is. There were maybe 8 other tables consisting of 2-6 people each, and they only had 1 server and a bartender who was part time serving. As a result, it took 10 minutes for the server to approach us. My girlfriend and I had to ask our server three times for 2 glasses of water because he was getting pulled in every direction by other tables. We finally got our water once I was about 50% done with my burrito. It's clear the restaurant could use more staff but otherwise a pretty solid Mexican restaurant experience in the Roosevelt/Green lake area. I will likely be coming back!

Chile Colorado, Guacamole, and Taquitos
C B.

Solid. Not Special. Not bad. It was fine. Service was prompt, kind, and attentive. Chips are store bought and salsa is a little bland, but its free and lands right away when you sit down. Guac was well executed and fresh. Chile Colorado was tender, but sauce had a canned flavor. No heat at all. Taquito was delicious, crispy. Price was reasonable. I think this is a good happy hour choice when you are hungry and want a filling Americanized Mexican experience. If you are hoping for something special and memorable keep looking.

The chips and salsa. OMG!!! I love these! Beware the salsa has some heat :)
Gustavo M.

I swear the door handle is a portkey, because the instant you go through that door, you're instantaneously transported to another place, one where everything feels more relaxed, several tens of bottles of various tequila distills appear on display on the wall, latin fills the air, and even the light changes! The staff is friendly and funny, especially the guys. When the establishment isn't jam-packed, they may even stop by your table and regale you with their wit, and their inexhaustible collection of jokes, that they occasionally may tell you together! The cocktails are great, and if you really want to go on an agave adventure, they will give you a tour of their tequila wall, from the inexpensive silver shooters to the sipping añejos. The chips and salsa are fantastic and soooooo hard to resist! The food is a-OK, but the whole experience is so pleasant that I never mind. This place has quickly become a favorite for me and my friends, and just writing about it, and thinking about how much fun I have here, I wanna go back again!

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and I am so glad I finally did! We ordered a few things to share and every single dish was delicious! Shrimp toast: this was a great appetizer to share! Very crispy and the sauces on the side gave it a more complex flavor! It came with a sweet mayo and chili sauce. The chili sauce is definitely spicy if you can't handle spice so beware on how much you're using if that's the case. I also really enjoyed the slaw that came with it, it was very refreshing and it had a bit of sweet mayo flavor to it, I think it's the same as the dipping sauce but I could be wrong! Fried oysters: these were delicious! I think fried oysters can be a hit or miss for me, sometimes the interior can feel too dry and feel kinda of mushy-like, like I'm eating bread rather than seafood. But this had great texture on the inside while being crispy on the outside! The sauce on the side tasted like a pepper aioli which gave the oyster a nice tang *the fried dishes were great but after having a few, it definitely felt heavy, so this would be something I share with someone else vs eating it on my own Smoked salmon belly dip: I really enjoyed this! It was creamy and had chunks of salmon in it. It wasn't too dense or thick so it was perfect for scooping onto the kettle chips. The kettle chips were lightly salted so it was the perfect combo with the dip. Clam chowder: wow I absolutely loved this! This is different than any other chowder I've had. While I love a white creamy chowder from your typical seafood places, the base being a fish stock definitely brought out the seafood flavor vs a white chowder feeling like a cream base. This chowder still felt creamy and rich without the seafood flavor being overpowered. Rockfish bowl: the crab rolls were sold out by the time we made it to the register so we opted for this instead and I am so glad that we did. I didn't really expect this to blow me away but this was such a refreshing dish that balanced out the fried dishes we got. It used viet flavors that you may typically find in a banh mi which made it refreshing and had great texture from all the different fresh ingredients and fried garlic. I also loved how the fish came in patty form mixed with pork, it was flavorful and moist. I love any type of fish tofu/patty, I think it really makes fish flavorful when it sometimes can have a really mild flavor. I'll definitely be back to try the crab rolls!

So when I woke up still craving shellfish, RockCreek was the call. It was the right one. A dozen oysters to start: Kumamoto and Shigoku. Clean -- no grit, no sand. Whatever they're doing back there, it's working. The brine was full and present in every shell, and the mignonette hit that rare sweet spot of light but actually seasoned. The Winter Old Fashioned? Get it. It was so delicious. Then came the crab Benedict. The side salad alone was worth writing home about -- big, buttery, peppery leaves draped in one of those feather-light vinaigrettes that sounds simple until you try to replicate it at home and realize you can't. But the real star of the entire plate was the potatoes. Crispy outside, genuinely fluffy inside, seasoned with conviction. A masterpiece is not too strong a word. Closed with a glass of pink wine. Was eyeing the bottle with the piglet on the label, but it was bottle-only -- a distinction I find increasingly arbitrary as a former server and bartender. One day that policy will be a relic. Not yet, apparently. Best brunch I've had in Seattle in two years. Highly recommend.

We ordered some of our go-tos -- hamachi crudo, tuna tartare, and calamari -- and everything was spot on. The vinegar dill fries are exceptional: thin, super crispy, and loaded with seasoning (honestly hard to stop eating). We also tried the loaded fish sandwich and the cornmeal-battered lingcod -- both solid choices. Spicy margarita lived up to its name with a nice kick. It was pretty dead when we arrived around 5pm, with only one other larger table seated, which made for a relaxed, easygoing happy hour. Always a dependable spot when you're craving seafood done right.

Service throughout the meal was slow, which made what happened next all the more frustrating: despite the delays on their end, we were asked to leave at the two-hour mark. This would be understandable under normal circumstances, but we still had full drinks in front of us and several guests at the table were still actively finishing their meals. Because we were so close to our dining neighbors, I was actually able to ask them what they were eating since it looked so good. And that's how we ended up with some mind blowing fritters. A perfect appetizer to start the night. They have a great selection of wines that are actually reasonably priced to buy by the bottle. I'm pretty sure I saw someone taking one home that they drank a few bottles out of also, which is a first. I was impressed by the creativity of the dishes as well. I'm not one to be impressed by cabbage, or ever order it, but the charred cabbage looked enticing. The cheese on the bottom, seasoning, and dates transformed this ordinary vegetable into a star. And of course you gotta see what they're doing with the seasonal veggies. I can't seem to ever cook squash the right way, but they crafted it into the ideal consistency where it was almost meaty. That New York Strip was out of this world though... the garlic sauce that accompanied it was just enough of a flavor enhancer that it didn't take away from a steak that was cooked to the ideal temp. The space is intimate and even though there weren't many people there when we first got there, it still gave a warm and cozy vibe (quickly filled up though). The week of my friend's birthday they were only doing Seattle Restaurant Week, which I hadn't realized at first but the menu was amazing regardless. The staff was very attentive to us, constantly checking in on us and making any adjustments as needed. They thoughtfully walked us through our choices and when the food arrived. First we started with appetizers which I thought it was nice that you get to try all them and didn't have to choose one. The salad and asparagus is what you would expect, but they were perfectly done and not overly complex. The stand out was the Seared Tombo, the flavors of this dish were balanced and the fish was clearly very fresh! For our main we both got the halibut option, which came with a side of sunchokes. We had never had sunchokes before but were immediately in love (the fish was cooked to perfection too) but I loved the introduction of not so common ingredient. I thought it was a fun play on traditional "potatoes" almost. I'm glad we were able to try both of the desserts. My favorite was the tiramisu (I always love tiramisu). Similarly, we paid $23 for a seared tombo and were given four thin slices of meat. I feel slightly robbed paying about $80 and leaving quite hungry.
