Out condo got tented in Palm Springs due to termites. The company gave good advice before the job and even bagged some stuff that we didn't get. However, they didn't warn us that the shrubbery on our patio that provides us with privacy would be burned by the fumigation and sun on the tent from the hot temps here. My plants did burn. I was expected to clean up the mess, but they did tell me how. I did. They didn't assist. The condo association also offered no assistance because patios are private units owned by homeowners. Businesses need to take responsibility to clean up after themselves and rectify any damage that might be done. read more

I recently had to hire a company to rid my mother's house of termites. On a recommendation of good price, I called Cartwright. The work they did seems fine. Termites gone, wood replaced, but I was given the worst customer service I've ever experienced. My brother, who has mental problems, hid the protective bags. I called and explained. 5 days later, the day of the tenting, Cartwright had still not delivered, nor had they ever intended to deliver more protective bags. I asked them to deliver the house key to our neighbor across the street. They didn't. I called the office and was told they left the key with my mother after the tenting was removed and the wood replacement was finished, claiming my mother had chased them off the property. Their story didn't add up. At any rate, why didn't they do what I asked. Now I have to hassle my mother, who's senile, for her key and have another made. I admit Cartwright had some issues with my family but they did NOTHING to work with me and they were informed there might be problems. They had no issues taking our money. How simple it would have been to give the key to the neighbor like I asked. Was it so much trouble to deliver more bags when you're making $5,000.00 for a few days work? I wouldn't recommend this company to an enemy. read more

Being an adult sucks. Especially when you have to deal with termites. Google image search "termite damage" and you'll understand why it's imperative to get rid of these pests from destroying your valuable home. I scheduled an inspection through their website and was promptly responded with a confirmation date and time. My inspector Aaron combed through the house and showed me that there could be active subterranean termites in my garage. He detailed me the proper treatment for these species and how to look for them. Termites are a big headache in southern California, thankfully Aaron and Cartwright were able to be my Advil. The least you could do for yourself as a homeowner is protect your investment and get an inspection. read more

I was confused, so I asked if they could send someone out to take a look at it to make sure ( I was assuming they would want the business). We have had the pleasure of working with the Cartwright Termite and Pest Control business in 2002 and again in 2018. Our latest experience has been so over the top great that I didn't want it to go unnoticed. We decided to sell our family home in November and we were on a very tight timeline. I mentioned to Melissa (in the office) that we were returning customers and were in need of a termite assessment the week before Thanksgiving. Not only did they fit us in but they also were able to put us in their busy tenting schedule the Monday before Thanksgiving since we were due to close escrow the Monday after Thanksgiving. (Rainstorms had different ideas about when we would close on the property). Aaron oversaw the initial bid, the fumigation, and has been working with the roofers to get rid of the dry rot. He even has come back two extra times to make sure the roofers covered every area of concern and will be coming out (hopefully for the last time) to do a final inspection to release the property to the new family that deserves our home. The 2 BIG rainstorms caused delay after delay and Aaron and his team have been unbelievably flexible and understanding and I am so grateful. Both experiences, 16 years apart, were excellent. I contacted Cartwright to complete a 2nd opinion on a termite report that I had had completed by another company. They were very professional on the phone and got a technician out at a mutually convenient day/time. The inspection was completed free of charge and photographic evidence was provided to me which proved that the 1st termite company attempted to rip me off. I received a quote for the work needed (local treatment versus tenting that the other company recommended) and scheduled the work to be complete within a couple of days. I should have gone to Cartwright in the beginning, but am glad that I ended up getting their report and having them complete the work needed. I am lender who needed to have section II item completed. I spoke to inspector regarding section II item and he advised would re-inspect property to verify if the pillars were concrete. I received a call back and he stated work was done and would have office re-issue clearance. I was surprised to find out that the termite company had helped the homeowner to get work done and issued clearance with loan funding on time. As a mortgage underwriter I don't see this kind of teamwork very often. read more

Cartwright Termite did a tenting on the home I was going to rent last year. After returning I discovered their workmen stole all my beer from my refrigator and most of the Liquor from my kitchen. I called them and the owner wouldn't speak with me and had his secty talk with me. I was told to file a police report. Having been in the real estate business for over 35 years I have never ever had something stolen from a home never the less liquor. Beware of this company. read more

Cartwright took care of my home and was very helpful. They showed me where I could reduce costs and make improvements to keep the pests out. I was told that my problem was coming from outside of my yard, and what I was doing already was working. So they asked it I wanted service so I didn't need to take care of it myself and I decided not to use them since I've been dealing with an ant problem for years by simply spraying the house and fence. Without doing the neighbors houses I was doing the best that could be done already by keeping them out. I asked about the termite droppings that I had seen in the addict and in a wall that I had exposed and they took a really good look and told me I didn't have an active colony this was not properly cleaned up when it had been taken care of by another service company in the past. Again they offered to clean it up, but I didn't really feel the need to have someone take care of something that would only take me a few minutes to do. I never felt pressured by Cartwright, and they were open and honest about the services they had and that I might want or would require (in my case, not require). If I have a problem, I'll be calling them. Great service, free inspection, and didn't feel pressured to purchase anything I didn't need. I wrote a review in the past for this, but it was deleted along with my old yelp account. Not sure why. Might be because I didn't write many reviews. I am a 20+ year customer of Cartwright Pest Control. Contradicting what some of these NON-Customers are posting on Yelp, I have found Cartwright Pest Control to be very concerned with the how they handle every situation. Three or four years ago I had a bee hive in a pine tree and called Cartwright to remove it. They came out and removed it, they did not kill the bee's the removed it from my property. Last week I had a swarm of bee's just like at the Padre game, but they were in my fireplace and coming into my house. My wife and I were watching our 3 month or great grandson so we were concerned about his safety. Moved him out of the area into a safer area. The called a "Bee Removal" company after playing 20 questions with her, she gave me a price of $500. to remove the bee's or spray and kill the bee's. I decided I would do it myself. I started a smokey fire in the fire places and the bee's partially left. With the help of my son in laws we started the fires at 3:30PM and kept them going until 9:PM, thinking they would leave. Next day bee's are still buzzing and still entering the house. I called Cartwright and asked for their assistance. I didn't have to play 20 questions with them. Later that day one of their trained technicians arrived and advised me that the swarm had pretty much left with the queen and that a few bees lingered around. He did spray those bee's just like the Padre game. Most of the bee's are gone now except the persistent pain in the butt ones. So we kill one or two a day. But Thank You Cartwright for coming to out rescue and unfortunately we had to kill the bee's but it was them or me and my family. Again the right decision was made both here and at the Padre game. read more

Run Spot Run, from Cartwright Termite and Pest Control. Very friendly while lying to you about their upcoming "service". Sent two untrained workers and refused to fix their work. Claimed to "replace a beam" when in fact they merely removed a portion of the 2" of wood rot, puttied over it and slapped some paint on it. The putty fell out after the first rain leaving a bigger mess than I started with. I found another contractor who redid all their work for 1/3 the price. Get other estimates, but RUN from Cartwright. read more

I've used this company for two years. We just couldn't get rid of ants. They were everywhere. They ruined food in our pantry three times as they were coming from the attic. I spent a ton of money on home bug spray's. It didn't work. I called Cartright and they send out a specialist. They were professional and knowledgeable. They took the time to walk me around the outside of my residence to show me where the ants were climbing trees to get on my roof and then into my attic. Since using the service we've had no pest issues whatsoever. I wished I called them earlier. I would've saved hundreds of dollars worth of food and money wasted on home treatment sprays. Their service is fairly priced, reliable and effective. Every time I've called them they were responsive and sent out a technician immediately. Unfortunately there are no 1/2 stars on yelp. I initially called around to find a new service and was comparing to rates I had previously paid with other pest control companies (the one before them being Western). Cartwright fit the bill and claimed they did all the things I asked of them. NOT. Now maybe this is standard for them, but they are not the first service I've hired/contracted....so when a different person showed up to perform service each time, well I wasn't very happy about that. Your person gets to know your yard, areas of need, etc. over the course of your contract. How would this happen with a different person each time? My biggest issue with them however was- when I first called one of my main concerns is for them to call prior to the scheduled visit so that I could make arrangements for the family (including pets) to leave so that they could cover the INTERIOR as well as the exterior. I have a major phobia of spiders (black/brown widows especially). They only did this ONCE and that was the very first time. I was being billed, but not receiving the service that was agreed upon. I called, faxed notice, etc. of the fact- don't bother coming, you can stop billing anytime now, because you are not fulfilling your contract obligation that you agreed upon. I agreed to INTERIOR and EXTERIOR not a half ass spray around the property every couple of months. I would NOT refer this company. read more

This review should be NO stars. This is truly one of the WORST companies I have EVER dealt with! Terrible customer service, ZERO communication amongst employees and within the office. I had nothing but problems from the moment I began working with them. From the looks of the reviews on this website, I see this is not uncommon & I am not the only one. I will be going to the Better Business Bureau next. DO NOT waste your time contacting this company or attempting to work with this company - it will only frustrate you, cause you problems, and waste your time. After 3 months of service (of which every appt was a nightmare & complete pain due to their lack of professionalism, customer service & communication), I canceled the service. At that time, I was told that my payments were up-to-date & current (I paid EVERY bill as soon as I received the invoice in the mail & NEVER missed any payment that I received). I canceled my service in August. I then received a call out of the blue from the owner (Rob Cartwright) the middle of December (4 months later!) stating that he was sending me to a collections agency for lack of payment - WHAT???!!!! I had not receive ONE single call or communication & had NO record of owing them anything (although ironically when I had service with them, they didn't seem to have ANY problem sending me invoices to my address or calling me to inform me of appts (in which every time they had scheduled incorrectly)). Needless to say, I informed Rob of my dissatisfaction with my experience & his company - he said that he would check my files & return my call the next morning. He did not call (surprise, surprise). I called him again the following afternoon - he would not take my call. I then explained the entire situation to the office girl. Explained to her that I would be contacting the BBB & providing poor reviews on as many websites as possible. Please take my advise and DO NOT WORK WITH THIS BUSINESS!!!
