Such a cute coffee shop! There are several Cartels around the valley but this one is definitely one of the cutest. Cute artwork and very aesthetic. Wholesome and bright. Parking is a little tough if it's busy. I always get the CCL, soooo good. Has Nami's vegan caramel in it, I love. The ice doesn't melt as fast and even an hour and a half after I got my drink there was still ice but the drink itself wasn't watery.

Amazing cortado! Very smooth. Also has the breakfast burrito which was decent- salsa not spicy at all

We found this on our way to the Phoenix airport the other day, and with a few hours to kill before our flight, I was very pleased to have found this location. My husband both had a drip coffee and split a cinnamon braid. I will say that the cost of the drip, which was about $4.25 or a bit more? and no refills, was about the most I've ever spent anywhere for drip coffee. I sort of expected this price for drip out here in the Southwest, but found it cheaper at another location in Phoenix. All I had purchased was two drips and a braided cinnamon, all for $15 and change. A bit much. However, the coffee was good and I did purchase a bag of beans to take back home with us. There are other Cartel Roasting locations in Phoenix, and I had intended to check others out, but time didn't allow for that. This location was perfect in more ways than one. It was close to the airport, and the customer service, ambiance and overall cute house turned into a coffee shop was well worth the visit. I have been to other coffee shops inside a house or bungalow turned into a coffee shop, and this is perhaps the best use of space that I've come across. It was well thought out and planned. The décor was very nice and all with a West Coast vibe.

Almond croissant taken home - ok

I came by here on a Sunday in the late morning as I was cruising home from South Mountain, for something to eat and a coffee. I chose an almond croissant which the staff said was baked at their Tempe bakery. My standard for a good croissant is French. It wasn't there (but a step above grocery store) - I probably wouldn't bother again. Now the coffee: I was a bit floored by the price of $4.75 for a drip coffee. The first sip tasted funny to me, but it grew on me and in the end I decided it was on par with other popular local brews. Seemed to have a pretty high caffeine level. Again though, I wouldn't bother coming back for it - for this one the reason being the price is just not competitive. Other local places (and Starbucks) are in the $2.75-$3 range. The little house setting was cute. It was pretty packed full inside and I was perhaps a bit stinky from a morning on the mountain so I took my stuff to go. Quick peek around suggested a very hipster Apple laptop vibe.

This was my first time visiting Cartel Roasting and was looking forward to their coffee, given all the good reviews. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the coffee, plus it's overpriced

    Cappuccino is simply perfection!!

The cappuccino is simply perfection!! Vibes are easy like Sunday morning. Great place to meet friends for coffee or grab a breakfast burrito.

We had the dirty chai and the Vanilla latte.

The theme is (as one might suspect) songbirds and the entire Cafe is decorated with small songbird items. As a detail oriented person, I was in heaven noticing all the cute decorations. I ordered the matcha latte and it did not disappoint. My friend ordered an iced americano. Both are classic items and they delivered well. There is plenty of seating inside and outside (weather permitting) and it seems like it would be a peaceful place to study or work. The baristas were sweet and patient and helpful with the menu.

Apparently the shop sources coffees and teas from local businesses. For example, coffees = Infusion Coffee Roasters in Tempe, loose leaf teas and chai = Maya Tea Company in Tucson, kombucha = Milly Moon Kombucha in Phoenix, and breakfast burritos = Lua Lua Catering. [Parking]: Mostly metered parking and I ended up parking few blocks away from the shop (plenty of metered parking spots near the intersection of E McKinley St & N 5th St). [Atmosphere]: Inside of this historic house, the wall features the work of local artists. The shop also has a cute outdoor patio area with tables. [Menu]: Apparently Matcha Latte is one of the more popular drinks here. The shop offers 12 black tea options, 9 green tea options, 8 herbal tea options, 4 white tea options, and 3 oolong tea options. *** Matcha Latte (16 oz, iced - $6.25): I was surprised that my drink was sugar free by default and I probably say yes when the staff had asked about adding sweetener. The drink was not as creamy as I thought and it was honestly a fairly mediocre drink. The drink also came with a paper straw. *** A great spot for a casual 1st date due to great vibe, but matcha latte just didn't hit the spot.

Futuro currently takes the cake for my favorite coffee shop in Phoenix currently…read more I've tried their matcha two ways: 1. as an iced latte, unsweetened. The first time I ordered it unsweetened was accidental, but trying it without sweetener or flavor was what made me realize that their matcha may be the best I've ever had. I've also had their Mas matcha latte and it is also absolutely delicious and simple and still allows me to taste the matcha through the vanilla and sweetness. I've been to other places that serve Kettl matcha, but none have tasted nearly as rich as Futuro's. The atmosphere itself is true to its name. It is futuristic, simple, and beautiful. It is full of unique art pieces of all types, and they sell their coffees and teas as well. I feel at peace inside and they always have vibey music playing at a perfect volume and incense lit. The service itself is one of a kind and makes me feel like I'm at a 5-star restaurant. They bring your items out on a beautiful tray and will always serve your drink with a cup of water on the side if you order it for here. They will even package your food up for you, which I would never expect from a coffee shop. It can be busy at times with a bit of a wait because the drinks are all made one at a time, but it's always worth the wait. The place isn't very big but has plenty of seating given the space. For working from home, they do have wifi but limited outlets. Their pastries served from a local bakery are also delicious.

I'm currently hooked on the Cafe de Olla, a gorgeous blend of sugar and spice that's topped with a star anise pod that enhances the aroma with every sip. But virtually every menu item -- honorable mention to the Cajeta -- is balanced and well crafted. The baristas are all very knowledgeable about their teas, as well. I've recently been SO hooked by their semi-new weekend pastry artist, Ghita, who crafts such unique desserts. Most recently, I tried their absolutely FIRE black sesame craquelin with a mildly sweet tahini cream. The rhubarb cream pastry was also gorgeous and creative. Futuro as a space is intentionally designed as well, with plenty of seating on both sides, boutique goods for sale, and great reads. It's the perfect place to read a book and chill on weekends. And the staff, even when busy, seem to always perfectly serve each order and efficiently clear out plates. Officially my favorite coffee shop 1000% now.

The ambiance, drinks, and service were all great! There is an entrance to Lola Coffee from Roosevelt and another from the back near parking spaces. There is a restroom near the back entrance, and the start to the line to place an order is right near the front entrance. I saw in one of the comfy chairs while I waited for my former student to arrive. At that point, we moved to a regular table and then went and ordered drinks. She ordered a coffee, and I ordered a lemonade. We both enjoyed our drinks which were ready very quickly. There were smaller and larger tables, and there were also countertops along with business cards and marketing items at the back of the room on a thin table. Lola Coffee began with humble beginnings going back to 1992 with a cart, then Lux Coffee, and eventually Lola Coffee downtown. Now, there is even a second Lola Coffee location in Arcadia near 40th Street and Indian School. Today, they serve coffee, pastries, and breakfast. The Downtown Phoenix location hours are weekdays from 6:30 AM to 7 PM and weekends from 7 AM to 7 PM. You can see their menu, history, photos, and more on their website (https://lolacoffeebarphx.com). While I had trouble choosing between a lemonade for a cold beverage or hot chocolate for a warm beverage, it's great they have so many options. Again, try them for drinks, breakfast, or pastries. Their staff is so helpful and the actual restaurant is quite welcoming to everyone.
