Argued with me about the condition it was given back in. And I was told to wait OUTSIDE because four eyes wants to be a smarta$$. Buddy , I'm ten years your senior and twice your size, and also A CUSTOMER.. Your father should have taken a belt to that @$$ because you have a VERY smart mouth and if you'd talk to customers like this I'm terrified to find out what you're like off the clock. I got into a rear end accident about a month ago and through the at fault insurance, I found this shop. At first things were fine, Vanessa was perfectly kind and professional. She assisted us with the inspection and walked us through the process , took photos and got us into a rental that day. As they (Carstar) insisted . Took about 4 weeks but the insurance deemed my car a total loss so we were going through our options deciding what to do. I got a call from Vanessa saying they needed me to make a decision on what to do with my car because they needed it moved to make room for other vehicles. I told her I'm still making my final decision (dealing with insurance settlement process). I was told by my insurance adjuster I could store the car at my house or storage while I made my decision so I opted into driving it home. THIS IS WHERE THINGS GET STICKY. I called Carstar to ask if it was okay for me to come get my car since I was only 15 minutes away and they were rushing me to get my car anyways. The guy on the phone said he didn't know and I would have to wait for Vanessa to call me back , fairly ill mannered and dismissive when we talked and didn't even say goodbye, just hung up on us.. whatever, we blew it off. I was a little confused and drove there in person. First thing to note, there weren't many cars in the lot like they were saying , 10 cars max in a giant dirt lot. When I saw my vehicle my car wasn't taking up or enclosed into any space. When I approached my car I noticed all of my windows were down about 20% open .. each and every one of them and there was tons of bugs, flowers, leaves,dirt and dust EVERYWHERE in our car.. completely ridiculous and absolutely no point in our windows being left open. For GOD knows how long.. IT WAS IN SHAMBLES and extremely filthy. My trunk looked like they just ripped everything out and just tossed it back in there as if it was a trash compartment... The bungies holding my trunk closed were gone which means my trunk has been open for a whole MONTH and my bumper was dangling by a thread. When I dropped off my vehicle the bumper was still attached, damaged but still attached and stable. We had to remove the bumper just to make sure it didnt fly off on the way home! Not to mention my car battery was totally dead and took 20 minutes to charge just to get it home it died again once we got home. When we went inside to ask why our car was left in such a state and why our property (bungie cables) were missing the guy sitting behind Vanessa to the left with glasses immediately denied our claim stating that the car is how it was when we dropped it off-- WHICH WAS A ABSOLUTE COMPLETELY FALSE CLAIM.. He offered to show my husband photos and when my husband started to walk around to go back by the computer the guy showed him a picture of the rear end... my husband replied " the TRUNK not the rear end" we CLEARLY knew what the accident damage looked like and questioned him why he was showing us photos of the exterior vs the interior he snapped and told my husband to wait OUTSIDE or he was calling the cops and REFUSED to show us the photos. At first my husband completely composed and shocked walked out to the lobby where the guy directed him in anger and when my husband said ok he immediately responded in anger "better yet you can get the F(;¥k out and stand outside. Mind you it was the middle of the day and super hot outside and he had did nothing wrong but ACCEPT the guys offer to look at the photos he SUPPOSEDLY wanted to show which had nothing to do with what we were talking about. I even called after to ask Vanessa to send us the photos she took when we dropped off the vehicle and she said she would but never did... I reached out to the insurance adjuster for the photos THANKFULLY. Complete 360 of how they treated us when we first visited this place. Almost OBVIOUS that once they know they're not making any money off of you they'll treat you and your property like trash. DO NOT fall for the polite and performative first impression (WHICH MY HUSBAND EVEN MENTIONED the day we dropped off the car that they gave off a very fake energy), and go somewhere else. There are thousands of other shops that are heaps and bounds more reliable, professional and KIND than Carstar East Valley Collision. Never seen anything like this in my life.... STEER CLEAR! *sidenote* there was a woman in the lobby asking my husband about their service and what was wrong ,my husband told her that our car wasn't taken care of properly and she mentioned that the shop didn't give a good vibe to begin with. Recently, my car was keyed. Through my insurance company, I found CARSTAR. From my first meeting with them, I could tell that they cared about my car and me as a customer. They were able to get my car scheduled quickly and were really open to switching the day navies of my schedule. After drop off, they were great at updating me through text and I was able to see the quote that was prepared. Originally I was told that my car would take 2-2.5 weeks. Once the repair was started, it was dropped to a week and a half. Today I was notified that the repair was done two days early. Not expected at all but very much appreciated. Now the work- amazing! My experience was stellar with Carstar East Valley Collision. The customer service from the receptionist/office manager was wonderful. She carefully explained the process from beginning to end. She also helped me with my car rental and advised me that they will pick me up at the Carstar office and take me to the rental facility. They also allowed for a rental car pickup at the Carstar location. James was easy to work with and walked the damages with me to make sure we had a list of all damages and parts to be ordered. I was given a 10 day repair time from James, but he also stated he would do his best to get the car back to me before the 10 day period. I received my car back in 8 days and it was spotless and perfect. Almost like new. I would not hesitate to take my New Kia Sportage back to Carstar East Valley. Great work everyone! 5*s read more

This Carstar location has horrible customer service, and the owner is abusive and dishonest! I recently bought a 2017 Camaro ZL1 from Carvana and the front bumper was damaged during transportation, so they agreed to have it replaced through their insurance company, SilverRock. My mistake was not taking heed of the negative reviews, take a look for yourself and you'll see a trend of poor customer service and rude/abusive behavior from the staff. Despite my instinct telling me something was off, I had limited choices in SilverRock's network so I went ahead and scheduled an appointment to drop my car off. From the moment I received the estimate until the day I picked my car up, Carstar never provided me with an expected duration for the repairs. They also never called me to keep me updated, I had to call every few days to find out the status of my car. They will send you an automated text after you drop your car off with a weblink to a portal that is supposed to automatically update you on the status of your car. Problem being the job page never gets updated and from start to finish my status page always showed "Car Dropped Off" and was never updated. Another problem is when you call to get an update, half the time they don't answer the phone and always seem to forget to call you back. One particular time when I called, I was told they were in a staff meeting and would get a call back in 5-10 minutes. Well 3 hours later no return call so I had to call them back, and once again try to find out anything I could on the status of my repairs. This was a simple job in that the front bumper cover just needed to be replaced and the new one painted. Should have taken 4 days max, and that's being generous. Clearly Carstar is taking on too much work at this location and customers like myself might as well not even have an appointment if our car is just going to sit for days on end. To this point, my car was done after only a few days, but then I was told by John that it was "in detail" and I had to wait 3+ days for the front bumper to be buffed and paperwork to be completed! Since the timeline didn't make sense, I started asking questions and on the second day with no status update I was also told over the phone that "even if it was done you cannot legally pick up the vehicle because SilverRock paperwork has not been completed". Problem is I knew this was not true and that SilverRock had already approved everything that had been done on the car to date. It is also not legal for a shop to hold your vehicle if no balance is due, but when I questioned John about his employee's statement, he screamed at me and slammed the phone down! At this point, I was wondering if I would need to call the police and report the car stolen to get it back, which has never happened to me in all my years of trusting vehicles to dealerships and repair shops. After John slammed the phone down and hung up on me, I immediately drove down there to get the car back. Wouldn't you know, only 1 hour after being told it was illegal for me to take possession of my car for at least a few more days, once I was physically onsite demanding my property be returned, I was miraculously told I could have my car! I was then given an invoice and while I was outside the shop inspecting my car, John was out there with a customer and was very nice to me. I looked over at him and said "thanks John", and in front of the other customer he said "you bet, I'll call you in a little bit and we can discuss the ppf coating". At the time, I knew he was never going to call and was just trying to save face in front of his customers, and sure enough he never called me. The new bumper also does not match the other body panels well, paint blending is subpar at best. At the end of the day, I urge anyone reading this review to take heed of the other negative reviews for Carstar East Valley and steer clear of them. I was always very polite in my dealings with them, and the fact that John runs his business in such an abusive, dishonest, and unorganized manner is shameful. read more

Thanks to the manager that took action, and helping me addressed the problems with the insurance company. I don't like writing bad reviews, and a trip to the body shop is rarely a pleasant event. However, if a business owner takes the time to contact the customer about a problem, and listen, apologize, resolve and thank the client. A customer will come back, will recommend them, and will sometimes write a good review. Excellent customer service has always been one of the cornerstones of a successful business, and I appreciate it when I receive that. Now as far as their bodywork, they did a good job with repairing my bumper, fender, and door. My car is good as new, and they also offer a written warranty. East Valley was very friendly and helpful when my Pilot got rear-ended. As much that such an event can cause stress and anxiety having someone work on your vehicle to patch up damage, the folks at East Valley put me at ease. Angelica and all the mechanics performed fantastically and got my Pilot all fixed up and looking great. They even did a full clean of my Pilot before returning it to me repaired. Though I hope to never again have to take a vehicle to get repairs, I know if such an event happens again, I will definitely be looking to East Valley again to take care of it. Their shop is clean and has friendly staff. Highly recommend at least getting a quote if you find yourself needing any body work on your vehicle. Sorry, I have to change my review. It turns out while Scott was very helpful in storing our car until we could figure out which direction to go, different parts of our car were 'taken' and not replaced when the car was eventually moved from their yard. We paid $100 for them to access the damage only to find out the missing parts are easily another $250 to replace!! I called Scott several times and was told he would check with the 'guys' and never heard back! No longer would I recommend this shop I am sorry to say. read more

The great reviews got me to come in for an estimate for front end damage. It was higher then others I got but liked that it could be repaired in one day. I called back with concerns about my estimate and John asked me to come back to take a second look. He hoisted my car up to look underneath and even tied my bumper lining together. He determined there were certain replacement parts not needed and lowered his original estimate so it was within range of others I received. I went with another shop because I was paying out of pocket but EVC would definitely be my choice for any insurance job. read more
