We sat at the bar and were asked to move down to the end of the bar where there was a sink and grate of some sort in front of us. Didn't seem like enough room for plates. We felt uncomfortable and left. The Ambiance in the bar area was off. The bar tender unprofessional. We were shoved in a corner. We saw some plates. Food didn't look that great. Love the cave-like warmth of this casual and contemporary lair; low ceilings, outdoor space, small bar, waitstaff who wear Vans but know their wine, skateboard sommeliers? Listen. This place was amazing! Take your time to enjoy all the delicious and perfectly sized meals! It's a great place for a group of people if everyone orders something different. Very shareable sizes, in my opinion. I originally sat at the bar and they have a delicious drink menu too. I keep saying delicious but it's true lol we moved over to the table and our server was pretty cool. She was quick, and our food was served quickly. I was able to peep over to the people sitting next to us and they had more food I'd like to try for next time. Plenty of parking outside. It's downtown so you will have to pay for parking. I love the dark lighting, music wasn't blaring, we could have a conversation without yelling or asking someone to repeat themselves. Can't wait to go back! read more

We've been coming to Carson kitchen since they opened and visit several times a year. The food is always good. We usually bring between 6-10 people. Tonight we had a group of four and sat before 545pm. We ordered drinks and were told they were saving the lime juice for someone else and we would have to order something else. Come to find out it was a bridal party arriving nearly an hour after us. They had plenty of lime juice, just not for us. When asked why, the waitress said I don't make the rules... First, could you not purchase additional lime juice in the next couple of hours? Run down to the store or talk to a neighbor business and buy some off them. Second, why do you treat paying customers an hour or more early this way? If you can't procure lime juice, you tell the last customers of the night that you ran out; not the people who sit down before 6pm. Needless to say we didn't order our typical multiple drinks per person, in protest and this soured our experience after nearly 9 years and over 33 visits! Food was good as always. Wow! What a fantastic find Carson Kitchen is!! My friend took me and she loves the food here. She was right on because I was very impressed and I love really good food. The Devil's eggs were the best ever and I can't wait to go back and have them again. The beet salad was unbelievably fresh and delicious and I brought some home for my husband to try and he loved it. One friend had the popular Iron Chef Burger that she loved and it came with the best spicy tater tots (not at all like the frozen type). We also tried the bacon jam with Havarti, the burnt hot dog ends, the tempura green beans with pepper jelly cream cheese, and the pork belly--the flavors are amazing. This place is foody heaven! I live in Henderson and the drive to downtown Vegas is worth it. Do yourself a favor and give Carson Kitchen a try! read more

She also mentioned that each burger is served with tater tots. *** Crispy Chicken Skin (Smoked Honey - $10): Bartender said this appetizer is similar to chicharrón. The dish was literally ready in 3 minutes which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately, all I could taste were mostly exterior fried dough and not too much chicken skin. Black Rice & Oxtail Risotto (parmesan cream - $16): A very cheesy dish, but it tasted slightly too salty for me. *** It's a bit of a shame that I didn't get to experience the rooftop view and didn't get to try more small (tapas) plates/sharable items that this gastropub is known for. I used to frequent Carson's a lot, but after moving to Henderson it's farther than I like to go. It was a friends birthday so we did family style and ordered wayyyyy too much but every bite always came with an OMG. Make reservations because they are always booked. Do not sleep on the foie gras jelly sammich either!! Fried chicken skins are a staple as well. First time trying Carson this weekend and it was amazing! I haven't felt so satisfied in so long. I had the black rice and oxtail and that is a MUST GET! Also the short rib steak was fantastic! Get the risotto! Even if you do not order anything else. Have a glass of wine and get the risotto! The place is really trendy inside and well the menu is too. I've had a few different things. They ask you before ordering if you have been there before and explain that their menu is designed to be shared. Which I don't think is actually true because the portions and plating styles say anything but share me. The watermelon salad is delicious as well. I have to remember to tell them no mint because my bestie is allergic to mint. But that beautiful oxtail black rice risotto, mmmm I love it even if it comes in the most absurd bowl that basically looks like an upside down small child's hat with an annoyingly large brim. They also used to make you sit at tables with strangers. I seriously hated that. First time dining at this restaurant and I had a fabulous time! The ambiance is very intimate and it seems like there's not a whole lot of seating inside, so if it's the weekend during dinner time there may be a longer wait. Luckily, I went with 3 of my girl friends on a Monday night so we were sat right away. Our waiter informed us that the menu was designed to order family style for the table, and I couldn't agree more. Although the portions were not big, it's nice to have a variety of delicious foods to try from their kitchen. The baked mac & cheese is a must try, it's so creamy and was a bigger portion than the others so perfect for sharing! I was surprised how much I enjoyed the watermelon & feta, which was also very tasty. The killer shrimp was also good, basically a shrimp tempura mixed with some type of spicy mayo sauce. We ordered about 5-6 dishes, 3 alcoholic drinks and 1 soft drink. With tip we each paid about $50 each for our party of 4, not too bad for a fun girls night out! read more

There's a fire pit so in the winter this would be a great spot to hangout. Service was great and the workers were very nice. What a pleasant surprise! We had a hard time finding a place open on Monday's & thankfully my husband found this place. We sat up at the bar looking into the kitchen & I don't think I could sit anywhere else next time. It was fun to see all the different dishes coming out & seeing the detail & care put into each dish. We got to talking with who we think was the manager Rachel who really helped us with our decisions. We got the Devil's eggs, grilled oysters, killer shrimp, & meatballs. All were fantastic, the only one we wouldn't get again is the meatballs, there was a strong taste of rye seed & both of us just aren't a fan. Horrible service for 8 people. Our food came out all at different times. By the time some people finished their meals, you probably still won't get your dish and wait longer. I don't know who's genious idea this was? How can people conversate when half are eating and half aren't. This place has great casual and fun atmosphere. The servers were helpful, explaining the diverse menu and making recommendations. The food was absolutely wonderful. They are evidently known for their fried.chicken skins served with hot honey, and the deviled eggs. Both were amazing. The tempura green beans were perfectly cooked and tender. We also had a Flatbread which had blue cheese, pancetta, pickled red onion and Arugula. It was also excellent. We ordered the sharing plates and each got some of everything. When we cane to dessert the server recommended the donut hole with maple pecan iced cream on the side. It was stellar. Served hot and fresh with a lovely sweet sauce and blended flavor perfectly with the ice cream. In short we.loved our meal at.Carson kitchen and will return. We split the chicken skins, burnt end hot dogs, and a burger. Of the three, the burger was really the standout. The chicken skins didn't really do it for me and I can't quite put my finger on why. The hot dogs were pretty good and remind me of the videos I've seen of people doing that with baloney. read more
