I took my car down to have some hints done at their service center and was so pleased with the wonderful customer service I received so wanted to make sure to do a review. Jason Frazier from the service department got my vehicle in and had all the problems with my vehicle resolved within a day. This employee is really an asset to the company. read more

2 weeks ago, after calling and leaving several messages during the work week and business hours, and not getting a call back, my husband went down in person to discuss his vehicle concerns. He spoke to Dennis and voiced his concerns about the issues he is having with his car. Dennis advised him to bring his car back on Monday morning and they would work on diagnosing it. Instead of coming Monday morning Dennis suggested that my husband use the night drop Sunday night so that they could get to his car first thing Monday morning. Yesterday my husband called twice during the day and again left messages to make sure that they had received his keys and that they were indeed in the process of diagnosing his concerns. He again never got a call back. He called again after business hours and spoke to someone in the business department who advised him that she didn't even show his car was in for service. She assured him that she would contact all the parties responsible and get back to us first thing this morning. At 10am today, after still not hearing from anyone, my husband called the service department and spoke to a woman who stated "your car isn't scheduled to be serviced until Wednesday" Whaaaat?? He explained to her everything that had gone on and told her he would just come by to pick up the car. Once he returned to pick up his car, his keys weren't even hanging with the other car keys. They were still in the night drop box in the original envelope my husband had sealed on Sunday. This is by far the worst customer service experience we have ever had with Carmax in the last 10 years that we have been purchasing and servicing with them. read more

Purchased a Fiat at Sahara location a month ago. Brought it in because of a noise that turned out to be a recall. It was one of those recalls that are just for convenience if that makes sense... but we were at the 30 days and we had taken it to Fiat first since we have had multiple fiats we just prefer the dealer. They actually suggested to take it back to Carmax since they would need to charge the deductible on the warranty so we did. Carmax Service made appt and was ready for us. No waiting no nothing. We left it there since we wernt sure if the noise was the recall or not. They called later in the day to let us know parts wouldnt be there until the next day and the car was back together if we needed it, we could pick it up. We left it the next day about noon they called it was ready, no charge, everything done... no more noise! I can say that so far CARMAX has been very good to us and has done a great job! Im pretty picky but they are making it so hard to find anything wrong! Very happy customer!!!! read more

Rip-off, overprice cars and if you are stupid they love you. I spend over two hours and every car I look into it were overprice. I founded the car they were trying to sell me at such great discount for $7,568 when factoring the price for the car, extended warranty and dealer fees. Yes for less and 14988 less miles less and I got extras. These guys will prey on the females because they are easy sales. I got a used car loan for 4.95% Car Max told me they best rate was 19.99%. May be I'm one those people that don't believe in your bs Car Max, you told me I'll be back to you guys, guess what you were wrong. I won't disclose my current dealer because I not given away free advertisement. My message is don't believe their BS, do you research, there is better options. Car Max is expanded every year due to ignorant buyers. My experience buying a Car at Car Max was horrible maybe I was too smart for their tactics. Thank god for allowing me to prove wrong those idiot salesmen at Car Max. read more

I walked into this location, looking to browse their lot since we will be buying a car soon, and happened to be open carrying my firearm. We were approached by a female salesperson named Corky who was very rude and laughed in our face when we told her we were just browsing at the moment. As she went to get her card, I was asked to leave by a manager because of the firearm, even though I was doing nothing wrong. We would never go back, even if they allowed open carry, based on the rude salesperson alone. Way to lose a customer and quite a few others as the local open carry community has been notified of their infringement of our rights. read more

Terrible Service! I went here last night to try and get my car appraised. I had never been to carmax so I didn't know what to expect. I walked in and was passed up by several employees who never greeted me or asked if I need help. I found a counter that said info so I walked up there and talked to the girl. I was added to a list on the computer and told to wait two minutes. 30 minutes later I receive a phone call from an out of state number on my cell phone. (I wasn't told that I would get a phone call by the way.) The person left a message saying he's from carmax and he was ready to do my appraisal. Why couldn't they just come get me in the waiting area? I called the number right back and got no answer. I left a message asking that the person call me back and nothing. I went back to the counter where I originally signed in and I was ignored at first because three employees were busy talking to each other about the deals they just did. I finally got my turn and told the guy at the counter that I missed a phone call from them and that I had been there the whole time. The employee checked the computer never making eye contact with me and said that I was not on the list. I explained that I watched the other employee enter me into the computer to which he and the original girl I dealt with answered "did you get a phone call" I said yes and they answered "well you should have answered your phone". I told them you guys are ridiculous you're just wasting my time. These people act like they are doing you a favor when they make plenty of money from the transactions they do here. I have never been to a dealership where they treat their customers with such disrespect! This was my first and last time ever trying to deal with Carmax! I know this one little persons opinion doesn't matter to a big corporation like Carmax but maybe it will help someone else save some aggravation. Don't go here unless you like being mistreated. read more

I decided after about a week of shopping that I wanted a BMW they had at a different location. Having been a car salesman before I decided to have it shipped to this location and stay with my original Saleswoman Natasha. Mind you the transfer was in the same city just a different store. When I asked how long it would take because I was ready to buy and was being courteous by just transferring instead of going to that store directly i was told to "be patient, you waited this long to get back to me what's a day or two more". Firstly: why is it taking a day or two to transfer literally 20min away. I understand protocols and whatnot but that's ridiculous. Secondly: regardless of if I was impatient or not don't tell a guest to "be patient" Im buying from you. I did you a favor by not going to another sale person at that location and giving you the sale. So no, i won't be patient. Especially after telling you at 9am I wanted the transfer, and I have to text you at 12:45pm just to have you say "I just put it in". She didn't know that i had stopped by the other location that morning and seen that she had put it in already and the gentleman told me it would be delivered most like that same day the latest tomorrow. It is now three days later and she says it's finally available. When I tell her I will be in later because Im looking at other vehicles her response is, "well I can't hold it very much longer and I'd like you to see it." My response "well I've waited this long, please be patient". She did not tell the truth about when she put the vehicle through transfer, for whatever reason busy or otherwise. Be upfront and say that. The other location informed me that she very well could've pushed it through after its arrival and had it ready two days ago. Therefore because of her lack of communication and inability to put the guest first instead of mismanaging her clients i chose to purchase elsewhere today. Carmax does a very good job at taking the hassle out of car buying, but they also take the hustle out of the salesman to get things done for the guest because we're just another base commission sale that they don't have to work hard for. I've never heard a salesman tell a guest to "be patient". Especially when all Im expecting is to be told the truth and informed often. I give 2 stars not 1 strictly because the pricing of the vehicles is worth 1 star itself. read more

I bought a 2007 Passat Wagon from CarMax in Henderson 2 years ago. The car had issues from DAY 1. I tried to take it back the first day after my mechanic looked at it. CarMax said they would fix any issues and if I wasn't satisfied they would allow me the 5 day refund and return. THIS IS A LIE. The car had an oil leak, vacuum and turbo issues and countless other issues. RECALLS from VW that were not small. When I tried to return it they said they would not allow a refund (ON THE 5th day when they had it in their service dept for 4 days) and they said I had to pick out a car on the lot in Henderson and they would not refund or get a car from another location (they do this for new customers, but not for me when I put 5K down on the LEMON. Ask for Jim Guthrie if you want to have a great experience buying a vehicle! My bf was searching the internet for a new vehicle and liked how carmax let you search multiple states' inventory of vehicles to ship to Henderson. Once he picked a car he called carmax and Jim answered, Jim was so helpful and on point during the whole process. Every time we texted him he responded very quickly and when we decided to come in to test drive and ended up buying, everything was so easy and there was no grimy haggling or upselling of any sort. We did opt for an extended warranty but it was very reasonably priced. Jim hustled once we said we would like to buy and was great with multi tasking to keep the process as quick as possible while still making us feel like we were important. He also let us know that the deductible discount we receive at carmax is honored at certain other places if we are traveling and let us know how to find that info if we need it in the future. I told my bf that I would definitely send my mama to Jim to buy a car, you know what I mean? I recommend anyone weary of car dealerships and that doesn't like to be jerked around to search car max and then call up Jim Guthrie to buy a car! read more

We bought our car from this location in 2012. We brought it in for an oil service because we were going to another location not offiliated with CarMax and for Synthetic Oil they charged us an arm and a leg. CarMax saved us $60!!! It is preferred you schedule appointment for any services. We did and we were promptly given to the person who would be helping us. They told us approximately how long it would take and told us to walk the car lot or have a seat. They had coffee for us and a tv or vending machines for snacks if you want. We used the restroom while there and they were really clean so that was a plus for me!! When the guy came out to us to let us know we were ready he told us the cost and what they did. He answered questions we had and even showed us some info on the paper work. They walked us to our car. They did attempted to wash our car In which I think could have been better but, Whatever. The work was done and when we got home my husband rechecked the work and it was clean oil and filter. We will be back again!! I believe they are open every day but, Sunday. read more

I had a very negative experience at CarMax. The car I wanted to buy was on Easter Sunday so CarMax was Closed for the Holiday. Totally Cool with that. The car said that it took "No Reservations" online. So I showed up right when CarMax opened up at 10:00 am the next day and magically the vehicle had been reserved for 10:30 am. Not cool! They had me wait an hour and a half to see if the person showed up who reserved it. No show. But because the salesman who had it reserved for a customer was closing another deal i couldn't purchase the vehicle without his blessing to move forward. Complete Bulls***. Hour later the guy showed up for his appointment. read more

My family has bought a total of 4 cars from Carmax over the years. On my last purchase, I bought the extended warranty. After I had the car for a year, the tire pressure light got stuck on, so I made an 8 a.m. appointment to take it in. When I got there, I was told that my repair would take 4-5 hours, and they would call me when it was done. Ok. After 5 1/2 hours, I called them, and they told me that the repair hadn't been started yet, but that someone would be starting on it soon, and they'd call me when it was done. Later that night, I got a voicemail saying that they had to order the part, and that it would be done 1st thing the next morning. The next morning, I called repeatedly, but no one answered the phone in the service department. Finally around 11 a.m. my husband drove me to Carmax to find out what was going on. The repair still had not been started, but they said that someone was going to do it as soon as they got back from lunch. Eventually, my car was delivered to my house around 3:30 p.m. With a broken passenger's side visor. About 28 hours later than they said it would be done. During this whole process I got 1 phone call to let me know that service was delayed. So, I made an appointment to get the visor checked out. At first I was told that I would have to pay for the visor if something was wrong with it, but after I called corporate, they decided that the warranty would cover it. I took my car in on August 2, and they told me that the visor needed to be replaced, and that I could take the car, and that they would call me when the part was in. Having not heard from them by the 12th, I decided to call them. Surprisingly, no one had ordered the part. They said they would order it, and that it would take AT MOST 3 days to get the part in. It's the end of the day on August 15th, and I haven't heard from them. I tried calling the service department, but they don't answer the phone, and they don't call you back when you leave a message. I am calling corporate right now... As of 8/20... Today they fixed the visors and washed my car in less then an hour. Maybe things will be better in the future... read more

If I could rate this any lower I would. WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY 30 YEARS OF PURCHASING CARS. Purchased car from Henderson CarMax on Sunday. Car needed work on the roof, floor mats, brake light, arm of console in back of car didn't latch. Salesman said, in front of me, husband, cashier, "no problem, it will all be taken care of". Salesman didn't submit "due bill" and he then said I couldn't leave the car at the dealership for the work to be done on Monday but had to come back. They couldn't take me to work and didn't offer a loaner. After I threw a screaming fit in the Las Vegas dealership they promised to fix the car under the CarMax warranty. LIARS - I just paid $351 for an oil change, tire rotation and the deductible on the extended warranty that I purchased. Brake lights seem to be fixed but amazingly they couldn't find the leak in the roof despite it pouring rain on me while I sat in the car. It took 8 days and the console is still on back order. Went to the look at some cars I found online. As soon as I entered I was greeted. We were given the area of where the cars we were looking for. Not a large selection but a decent selection. We test drive the car and was advised there were no negotiation on the car. But according to online pricing there was about $1500 that was the difference. Instead of settling with the small selection we decided to use the online car purchasing. And they deliver it to your home. Much more convenient and saved me money to use towards registration. read more

Worse service I have had. Been there four times for something as simple as an alignment and doesn't get fixed. The Service Manager, Brent has done nothing but make bs up and lie about fixing my car. I purchased a Jetta from this Car Max location and was shocked to find that there was no oil in the car. After 2 months, the airbags and horn stopped working. A little while later, my headlight went out so I tried to replace it. Come to find that the old light had been welded into the slot and it was impossible for me to replace it. I am thoroughly disgusted by the condition of the car sold to me especially given that they tout how thoroughly they inspect their used cars. Never again will I purchase a car from them and I warn others so as not to go through what I did. read more

CarMax is the perfect alternative to the chaotic and exhausting car shopping experience from a dealership. The cars are the price that they are...so you know what you are getting yourself into. I bought a Jeep Patriot 2011 this past April 2016. When I got the Jeep and did the test drive I heard a squeaky noise coming from the breaks and asked the seller if the breaks were new or used. The gentleman told me that the breaks were new and that is why there is a noise and to give them a few days to set with the Jeep. I bought the Jeep 45 minutes later and took it home, for the next few month the noise was coming and going. When the oil change time came in October, I just drove the truck up to that time for about 4000 miles. When I took the truck to have the oil change, I asked the guy if they could check my breaks because these are new and the noise was not going away. So I had a seat at the place and waited for the oil change, and OH SURPRISE.... The breaks were 60% gone. The mechanic told me that the breaks were not changed and the parts were old (Breaks and the system that activates the pressure on them) over $500 dollars in parts and labor to have them replaced. I went back to the store in Henderson, Nevada and spoke with a supervisor the same day (The last Sunday of October) and explained to him the situation, asked him to have one of his mechanics check the breaks on the back (I did not change them at that moment I want him to see the breaks and what they sold me, lying, because that is what they did) and OH SURPRISE, the supervisor refuse to help me nor check the breaks. He told me to call the 'Carmax Corporations' and I did on November 4th, I spoke with 'Ciera' and explained all again, the next day I had a call from Henderson, Nevada Carmax Dealer spoke with 'Robert', AGAIN, explained to him all the situation; he told me about the 30 days warranty and that they do not change the breaks on a car unless it is needed, that the mechanics makes the decision on whether they are still good or not. So, Robert told me that I was going to have a solution on this case in no longer than 24 hrs.... Yes, you are correct, he never call me back. 14 days went by and I call the Henderson store, nobody knew who was the person helping me and want me to explained all over again, so I hung up the phone and call CORPORATION AGAIN, spoke with 'JIM' gave the 'FUCKING' information AGAIN... He told me that I should get a call in no more than 24 hrs. and yes, nobody called me and today 5 days later I'm calling 'CORPORATION AGAIN'. They also lied to me in regards the 'Extended Warranty' that I purchase for $2000 dollars. Saying that this was good for 125k miles or 4 years.... No, it is good until the odometer reaches 125k (I bought the Jeep with 75k) or 4 years, and yes, they just don't give a fuck about my complained. If I could turn back time I will not step a foot into CARMAX, terrible customer service, lies, unwilling to help, poor service, they just wanted my money and they got it. Now 7 month later and more than $700 dollars in parts because something else already happened with the axel, I'm still waiting for them to call me back. First call November 4th today dates November 22nd. I could have gotten the Jeep at the Dealer with new breaks for the same price. Very disappointed, not just because CARMAX, because of the people working there and the customer service. All three are very low class, and don't give a shit about customers, they still don't understand that I could have an accident with my family, because they put me at risk with a Jeep and used breaks. Ashely and Devon!! Highly recommend! Bought an SL 550 Mercedes for our 20 year anniversary present to ourselves. Literally drove it off the lot and the top wouldn't go down! Drove it right back to Carmax, and thus began a two month ordeal of trying to get all the car's bugs worked out. I'm not saying that was a great experience, but what was amazing was how Carmax stood by the car and diligently made it right. Ashley in service dept. garage worked relentlessly for two months to get the car absolutely perfect. Thank you Ashley!! And also Devon and even Amanda on the sales manager side made sure everything was great as well and kept pushing back the "7 days to bring the car back" offer until we could get the car all debugged, home, and were satisfied or our money back. Really appreciated! Had it not been an anniversary present, I probably would have just gave the car back, but I had been looking for this perfect car for this occasion at this price for quite some time. Thanks to Ashley and Devon, they made it all work and we've enjoyed the car for over a year now with zero problems. I bought the warranty which I've heard other car industry people say Carmax is the best warranty in the business. Anyway, Carmax made a big impression on us, and we'll be back. Wow reading the reviews on here I am either one of the few lucky ones or management has made some changes as my salesman hinted at during the sales process. I also used the service department so I will break the review down into two parts. Sales: As many of the negative reviews have even said this was pretty easy and much less hassle than other dealerships. Found a 2008 mustang I was interested in at west sahara location which I live closer to but didn't appreciate their salesman pressure and sending me a letter in the mail to come back and see him which I never authorized my mailing address to be solicited but anyways I contacted this location and spoke with Lorenzo (my salesman would definetly recommend) who within a couple days got it over to henderson location. The process from here was very quick and simple test drove it loved it put my credit app on got approved and was ready to go within a couple hours. I liked dealing with my one salesman the entire process he was polite professional and showed me on his screen every single step of the process. It was nice not dealing with the hassle and hours of work dealerships can be. Had no pressure and they made me feel comfortable car is great had it about a month now and put close to 3000 miles on it. Service: Reading other reviews I was very worried about what I would have to deal with when I needed to make an appointment to have a couple things (minor) checked out within my 30 day warranty. While it wasn't perfect it was much better than I had anticipated. A couple door trims loose inside car 2 of them were able to be reattached. Front brakes were making some noise. I was ready to get the "they are within carmax standard" response which I did get but they said they were still going to replace the front brake pads and resurface rotors. It took a whole day and I needed to go to work they told me I wasn't getting a loaner at first had to fight for a bit on that one but they caved in and gave me one. Jason and brent(manager) treated me well and kept me informed during the two occaison I had it in fit service. Overall great experience buying minus one star for having to fight them a bit getting a loaner car and also when a trim part came in it took them awhile to call and notify me. Would recommend overall read more

Wow! My husband and I had an amazing experience trading in our car today. We were greeted by Toni. She was friendly and very knowledgeable. She answered every question we could think of and we never felt rushed or pressured. We felt welcomed, informed, and valued. We also got an AMAZING deal on our trade-in. It was much better than the experience at Findlay Toyota (we tried to do the same thing there a few days prior without luck). A while back we bought a car from the Henderson CarMax. We were told that the vehicle was clean and had no accidents. Just went to trade the car in, at another dealer in town, and found out that the vehicle was in an accident 5 months before we bought it and CarMax had purchased it at auction. We spoke with CarMax to discuss the issue. They said the car history would have been discussed with us and it was - we were told the car was free of accidents. We would never have bought a vehicle that was shown to have been in an accident. Asked to see the car history reports in our file....not in the file. The long and the short of it is, they sold us a car that had been in an accident and we were not made aware of it. And when researching this further, my understanding is, this is not the first time this has happened. Because of the accident on the car history, we are now looking at losing several thousands of dollars. I spoke with CarMax to see if they would help us out a little and bump the buyback amount to help us from losing so much. Not interested. My suggestion would be to very seriously consider buying a used car from the Henderson CarMax. Buy new and know exactly what you are getting. read more

I love CarMax! We have bought seven cars here at really good deal and they have never had any problems. They stand behind their cars and include a 30-day warranty with all of their vehicles sold. This location in particular has multiple helpful associates and when greeted at the front desk, the managers there are incredibly helpful and courteous. Each time I go in, we're greeted with a smile and a helpful demeanor. Our needs are always met and the vehicles we've purchased are in better condition than I've seen at other dealers. My husband just purchased our seventh car from them and it's always a great experience. The no haggle policy makes car buying easy and fast and the Maxcare extended warranty plan pays for itself with future repairs and has provided piece of mind with all seven purchases... No seriously, if you don't get the Maxcare extended warranty, you're going to wish you had! Plus I've been able to take my vehicle to SunAuto and get work done on Saturday for the same price I would if I had taken it to CarMax service. Service is great too, you have to schedule any work out almost a week, but it's understandable when you think of how many vehicles CarMax sells. All in all, my family won't buy another car unless it's from CarMax; it really is, "How car buying should be." 1. Chevy Cavalier 2. Acura Integra 3. Toyota Prius 4. Toyota Highlander 5. We ordered a car transfer from Burbank. That went smoothly, car arrived in about three days and we are thrilled with it. Our salesman, Rees was great too. The process was relatively fast. We sold our car and they offered a little more than we were expecting. The only problem has been the service department. The employees don't care about anything. They don't communicate with each other. I had to go three times for the same problem. They acted like it was unreasonable to expect a loaner car while mine was being fixed.
