3.75 stars if I could. I'm going to be completely honest here. I am really surprised that this restaurant has the rating that it does. My family and I had dinner here and it left a lot to be desired. We ordered some common dishes that you would see at other Mediterranean restaurants such as butter chicken and fish masala. Both were tasty and cooked nicely, but didn't have the bold flavors that I'm used to. And I hate to be that person but the portions were skimpy for the price! My sister counted 7 small pieces of chicken in one dish. That's not much at all considering that these were bite sized pieces. Same goes for the fish masala. Also these plates are filled halfway with sauce. To me, that's not worth the $14 price tag. For appetizers, we ordered the dolmades and the garlic naan which was huge and fragrant. The dipping sauce paired along with the naan was delicious I just wish they gave us more since we had a lot of left over naan. The hummus was a big let down though. Presentation was beautiful but that's where it ends. It was so bland. I don't even think adding more salt could have saved it. My favorite dish of the night was the samosas. Yes that's right, an appetizer was my favorite part of the dinner. There were a bunch of different textures going on that I enjoyed and the sauce had a really nice zing to it. I found myself wiping the plate clean with the pita bread. Mmm! Having dinner at Caravan Kebab felt like I was eating in someone's dining room. The setting is very intimate. I thought this would just be a run of the mill kabob joint. Ohhhhh no! This is the most authentic, varied and extensive menu I've come across. From Persian, to Afghani to Georgian, they cover it all. This restaurant is wonderful, more than a meal, and a hidden gem in an otherwise very accessible area in Edmonds! I can't believe I've never noticed it before, but that's because I don't drive on that particular street often to get in and out of Edmonds. I love that they offer cuisines from different regions, yet focus on the Mediterranean - they offer a couple of European items in addition to the larger menu of Mediterranean and Indian dishes. The restaurant is decorated in a charming and cute way with various colorful cultural nicknacks, drapes, rugs, and more. It really works! This restaurant is amazing. The food is great, it's small and quiet. They now have a lunch menu for those who have lighter appetites (or wish to try more than one thing without breaking the budget - many entrees under $11). I had the chicken mango curry, dolmades, and baba ghanoush. All excellent. There were many other dishes I wanted to try. Service was attentive but subtle. Parking is easy/plentiful. I have nothing negative to say about my experience except I'm surprised the restaurant wasn't busier. I would love to see more people supporting small businesses like this one. read more

Just come to lunch here with this in mind. 2) Owner server Shahzad was a real pleasure o interact with. Extremely courteous and customer focused. He will put your needs first and take great care of you. 3) Exterior of restaurant may surprise some. It is a little run down, but is not a representation of the rest of the dining experience. I wish we would have eaten here sooner! It's only just down the road from my house but our first visit was for takeout just a couple weeks ago. We've already returned for another round and can't wait until we can eat in. A few months ago I was craving Chicken Tikka Masala and decided on this place based on ratings. I need to remember that when it comes to food I had some of the best of the best in New York (even in "dive" locations). The CTM was not good; I didn't care for (the base was waaay too red) and this dude hit on me which REALLY creeped me out. I didn't like his energy and couldn't fly out of the restaurant quick enough. Today I returned with colleagues from work and dined-in. Everyone was pleased with their meals. Orders included CTM (which looked better than when I ordered it months ago), A Persian salad (beautiful looking salad), Kebab Special (huge portion) and I had the Veggie Biryani (chef: please add more veggies and a tad less oil). I would dine-in again (only if I have company) and recommend this place to others. read more

Next time you want some delish Mediterranian food, take a little detour off the Ferry route and go to Caravan Kebab. You can't miss it, the architecture looks just like the house in My Big Fat Greek Wedding! The interior has beautiful decor. The menu has a nice selection of Mediterranean selections and a few European items on the back . We started off with the Hummus plate. Then we ordered the Haandi Curry and the Lamb Tangine. We were a group of 3 and shared plates family style, which worked out wonderfully cause we did a good job of eating everything and my blood sugar only spiked ~10 mg/dL above my limit We got garlic naan, the handhi curry, a lamb kebab, a beef curry and the pomegranate chicken. This came out to $81 (incl a 20% tip) Staff gave us this tasty rice pudding as a gift. My pals weren't into it, so I got to take it home This is located in an unassuming spot. Would not have known this was here without the help of Google. There's outdoor seating. It was pouring, so we ate inside. What a lovely little find this restaurant was. I had the lamb tagine. With spices, veggies, pomegranate seeds, olives and pine nuts the first time we visited the Caravan. Today we had vegetable Briyani. Both meals were wonderful and delicious. Service was attentive and friendly yet we were given plenty of time and room to visit with our guests. Unfortunately, today the restaurant was nearly empty as people are fearful with the silly corona virus taking its toll on business. Please come and visit this little gem of a restaurant. Hands down the best food I've had in a restaurant in Washington state. So delicious, so fresh and in such an odd location. When you first see the restaurant you think there must be a mistake. The building itself is nothing special. But the food is incredible. We started with the eggplant appetizer. it was like nothing else I've ever eaten. It was so good. I kept thinking to myself why haven't I ever thought about making this with eggplant before. Definitely order the Persian salad. My husband and I had a hard time choosing entrees. Oh this was delicious. Usually order their cauliflower soup, but today it was Handi curry, eggplant rolls and hot chai. Really delicious and served piping hot. I love the eggplant rolls, with nuts and pomegranate molasses. Could just eat these and be full. But onward to the spice of Handi curry. Nice mix of spices and curry, with tender lamb and sauce. I took my family of six out for dinner, and we wanted to try something different, something unique. We decided to drive over to Caravan Kebab because it was close, and we liked what we saw on the menu. On a Sunday evening, it wasn't all that busy, which meant we didn't have to wait for a table (for six, that can be an issue). We were greeted by Chef Shahzad, who was very pleasant, and happy to help us with the menu and pronunciations of the dishes (although we didn't do all that bad). The decor was a mix of Asian, Persian, and Mediterranean, which was very tasteful. My wife ordered the Haandi Curry, which was one of the best dishes on the menu (wonderful flavors). My eldest daughter ordered the Chicken Fesenjan, which she really enjoyed and was happy to share in order to sample some of her mom's food. I ordered the Lamb Tagine (a Moroccan dish) which was excellent! The lamb was very tender, and the spices and vegetables were cooked perfectly (I didn't really want to share ANY of it). My eldest son ordered the Pomegranate Chicken with a cup of Pomegranate tea. He's a hearty eater, and was very pleased with his meal (there was no sharing). My youngest son had the Lamb Shish Kebab, and was very pleased with how his dish looked and tasted. My youngest daughter had the Persian salad, which she enjoyed, although she shared a good portion of it due to its size. Very wide range of cuisines that highlight how well traveled and versatile the chef is.
