Love love love this hole in the wall. Our favorite was the mushroom appetizer, garlic naan and tika masala. The eggplant rolls and caravan sampler was also good. Make sure to dig in that yogurt/dill sauce as theres this sweet concoction hidden under it. The garlic naan was probably one of the best ones we had, it was big, fresh and had an amazing crisp to it. The owner was so kind and took our order. He also gave good recommendations as well. The outside parking is basic but the indoors was amazing. The place was cozy and inviting w well thought off decor. The only thing id recommend was an upgrade in the bathrooms or to hide the random boxes in there. My friend and I came here for dinner before seeing a show and were so impressed with the food here. The place was completely packed and the owner was certain to get around to everyone in a timely manner to take orders. Getting checks at the end of the meal seems to be the only area they need improvement in. While we were ordering the table behind us was desperately trying to pay their tab by putting their check in the air, hoping the owner would see it. When it was time for us to go I had to go up to the front of the restaurant to request the check. When the owner brought it to us we noticed it was the wrong check, albeit showing a total that was cheaper than our actual meal. By the time the owner got us the right check I had to walk our cards up to him so we weren't late to our show. Aside from the slow checkout this restaurant was great. The food here definitely speaks for itself. A unique intersection of Mediterranean, Persian, Pakistani, and Indian food - everything we had was absolutely delicious. The eggplant dish was especially unique - similar to stuffed grape leaves with the exception of eggplant where restaurants usually use grape leaves. The cauliflower soup was perfect for a cold winter night - savory but not too heavy, and the saganaki was authentic and delicious. The salad was fresh and a perfect pairing with the cauliflower soup. My friend and I agreed we need to return to try out more menu items. We both really enjoyed the house red wine to pair with the meal as well. Small family owned business in Edmonds. We went there once a few years ago (pre pandemic), and again today for takeout. We got the hummus plate (with a side of naan), a fried veggie appetizer that I don't remember the exact name of, fish masala (medium spice), Turkish kofta kebab, and baklava. Large enough portions to have leftovers! They also added a free side of what appears to be rice pudding. Now I'm an American with Eastern European roots, but I've never had authentic food so I'm no expert, but this food has been delicious both times! Both my husband and I are very happy with the taste. I saw some reviews saying the food is bland, maybe they ordered mild? They offer 3 levels of spice. Medium leaves a pleasant heat on the tongue, not too spicy, and not bland! Overall this is really tasty food, and I've enjoyed coming here recently. First re-visit I had Turkish Kofta Kebab, and it was the MOST flavorful I've had! Decent quantity, and it was stellar. However, I was tempted that time by their Chicken Tikka Masala, so the second visit I had it. And it was good, spice levels were on point, but overall it was underwhelming. Especially for $20, the portion size was not great. Sort of left me wanting for more. I'd rather get a heartier portion at an Indian restaurant instead. That said, I will definitely come back to sample more items from the Kebab menu. It's a touch spendy but I think it's worth the excellent product. read more

Tikka masala is basically marinated chicken pieces going in tandoor and then added to the curry which in my opinion is game changer because that way the chicken feels nice and cooked. Their veggie pakoras are amazing as a starter and the chutney they serve with it is full of flavour burst. I had never experienced such seen an arrogant and disrespectful service than this place. no taste and flavor in food. Now about the service. We reached the restaurant around 4:45 on a rainy day. We were told that wait outside till 5 and then come back in when the restaurant opens. IT was freezing out we asked if he can turn on the heater lamp so we can wait outside. the answer was again the same after 5 PM. At 5 PM we entered the restaurant and got seated. Looking at the menu my friend asked what is good. Answer: look at the menu you can read there. Food We ordered Pakora as an appetizer, Nihari, Chicken Tikka Masala, Caravan kabob special. Pakora I think my 15 old daughter can make veggie pakora better than their chef. It was full of oil and soggy. In Pakistani/Indian food pakora is the simplest thing to make and they don't know how to make it. Nihari was a combination of onion and meat. Originally Nihari have no onion. Nihari should be light and flowy. not like onion meat. Chicken Tikka Masala I took a dive to find the chicken in the sauce. I thought they make chicken tikka masala with ground chicken then realized oh there is no chicken and yes, of course, no taste. The kebob platter was really bland. We found Caravan Kebab by way of great Yelp ratings. Unfortunately, showing up there for lunch was quite contrary to our expectations of a restaurant with over four stars. The table was set with a dirty fork, greasy glass table-top, and food-stained white tablecloth. The Moroccan Lamb Tagine came out with a slightly sour smell and a hint of potentially spoiled lamb. A couple bites was enough to dissuade a third attempt; it was poor tasting from potentially spoiled ingredients and an off spice-blend. The Chicken Fesenjan did not have a hint of spoiled ingredients, but it did have the same off-blend of spices and poor taste. The dough was not salty at all, and there was just a trace of mint. We asked for the check and were charged full price for the meals we barely touched. Unfortunately, our experience sums to 1 star. read more

Plenty of people have pointed out already that this place is far more than just a kebab shop. You can make a case that there's much more than meets the eye here, and that goes beyond just the name. The name makes it sound like you're getting just a few skewered things from the grill, and probably taking them to go. To be sure, you can get skewered things from the grill, and you can take them to go. There's a ton of neighborhood housing stretching out for miles around this place, and the to-go business must be a good one. From the outside, you might think that takeout is the way to go; this whole strip mall is the business district that time forgot. The buildings have always been occupied, and there's always a fresh coat of point, but it's a weird slopey parking lot and the architecture is a bit dated. The main building is trying to look like it's in colonial Williamsburg, but it's full of little shops and restaurants and nail salons and such. So you can be forgiven for not really knowing what to expect when you walk in. Three of us came in on a Wednesday after the lunch rush, and had the place to ourselves for most of the visit. Everything is clean and thoroughly decorated--tons of handcrafts and little pieces of art are on every wall and counter. It gives the place a colorful vibe with tons of character. They bring you an enormous thick menu; it feels like an encyclopedia. 8 pages of dishes from all over the world. I think they present themselves as a "Mediterranean, Indian, and European" restaurant, and they're making a serious run at covering all that ground in just 30-35 dishes. Hungarian, Indian, Greek, Polish, Persian--so many different culinary traditions between the apps, salads, soups, and entrees. We checked out a Hungarian appetizer: julienned mushrooms. Really deep flavors, great variety of textures with cheese and cashews added. The dolmades and rolled eggplant apps were equally flavorful, though slightly more familiar from other places. The "Munk's Favorite" soup was essentially a dhal; bright-yellow soup topped with sprigs of fresh herb. Tons of savory seasoning and great texture from the legumes. We checked out a vegetable dish and pierogis for entrees. I seriously don't know how they learn all these traditions in one kitchen, let alone make them make sense on the same menu. But they most certainly do. We had a "hot cuppa chai" (listed exactly as such on the menu) and black tea as well. The black tea was the only thing in the place that was remotely ordinary; it was just a little mug with a bag of Lipton in it. Went perfectly with everything for sure though. 7 plates of food and 2 drinks came to $77 before tip. This place is amazing and I will be back to work my way through the entire menu. This is one place where I would try anything they want to serve me, even if they just made it up that morning and didn't even have a name for it yet. What's crazy is how quiet it feels, when it's less than a mile or two from 4 of the busiest highways in south Snohomish County. You seriously just come up over a small hill from the busiest roads around, and you find plenty of parking and you get a dining room all to yourself, where they bring you amazing food at amazing prices. I was checking out a vendor fair in the parking lot next to this place and it looked interesting so we tried it out for lunch. Caravan Kebab is FANTASTIC!! The lamb Shish Kebabs are amazing with superb flavor and tenderness. The chicken Kebabs are also cooked to perfection, tender, juicy and full of flavor. The garlic Naan was huge, fresh and a perfect appetizer. The side pita bread was equally fresh and perfect to wipe your plate clean with. The veggies on the side were also absolutely perfect and well seasoned and I could have eaten a whole plate of jut the veggies! We also had the lentil soup and the flavor was a Devine inspiration with a spiciness to give just the right amount of kick. We finished off with baklava that did not disappoint either, not too sweet and absolutely delicious! I can't say enough good things about this place! I really like the food here. Have eaten here several times. This is a slightly out of the way location, in a strip mall. Nicely decorated inside, makes you feel if you are being transported to a location far from the Edmonds location you are in. You are greeted enthusiastically by the owner. As you sit down, you are viewing a menu with unusually diverse cuisines. I will list my favorites. The cauliflower soup with truffle oil on top is very tasty. I love soup and this soup is hard not to order. The Borscht is incredible, great beet flavor with sour cream. My next have to order is the Eggplant Rolls. They are stuffed with walnuts and onions and served in a pomegranate sauce. Such a great mix of flavors and so healthy. Another favorite is Homemade Spanakopita. Incredible taste of spinach and cheese in flaky pastry. I am usually a meat eater and these dishes are so tasty. One last vegetable favorite, Mushroom Julienne. Sheep feta, sour cream and a wonderful mix of herbs. Yes, I have ordered all of these and now am too full to get the mains. But I have eaten beef stroganoff. Delicious use of beef, mushrooms and sour cream. The Beef Nihari is so good, a delicious curry of beef shanks and curry spices. The Chicken Fesenjan is an excellent Persian dish, with pomegranate. One day I ordered Caravan Kebab Special, Lamb Shish, Chicken Boti, & Turkish Kofta Kebabs. All excellent, especially with the fresh baked naan. The wine list is great here, and the hot chai is some of the best I have ever had. For dessert, the baklava is not too sweet and a nice taste of honey. What I like better, is Saffron Fresh Mint Ice Cream. "Homemade ice cream with fresh mint leaf, saffron, cardamom, and hints of rosewater and lemon. Topped with dark chocolate sauce." You keep eating this, even when you are too full from all the other delicious food. I want to come back and try the Moroccan tagline, the fish Marsala and the Afghan Bolani. Great service from the minute you walk in. Then comes the beautiful waft of garlic and spices. We ordered the eggplant roles, baba ghanouj, butter chicken, and veggie biryani. They have kashmiri chai but there's no free refills. My friend had the butter chicken and it was standard like what I would get at other places.
