First time back since relocating to Denver. Surina provided excellent service and food was wonderful, once I asked for the correct meat. I like my Saag with dark meat chicken, and miscommunicated to Surina. She was able to correct my miscommunication and I enjoyed a delightful meal. I will return, mostly because of Surina and Sujit (the cook) completed the cooking of my revised meal. With service like this, you can surmise the ambiance was wonderful, so caring!

Great food - better than expected. But I will tell this - this being a Nepalese place, I really expected spicy and hot flavour but they have toned it down for American pallette. I tried ordering Thupka with 5/5 spicy level but the waiter advised against that. So I did 4/5. And oh boy so disappointed - it was not hot. Nothing like Thupka I have tasted back in India. But the taste was really really good. It was a bit turmericy but not bad.. really flavourful. On the other hand the chilly momo was just Wow. Not at all spicy but the sauce they had - so amazing and flavourful. Very nice. As per ambience, the restaurant looked nice and clean but not really a lot of crowd dining it..

This place is truly a hidden gem where you can get delicious Nepalese and Indian food. The Everest Kitchen is our favorite take out place for a busy weeknight and the quality of food is always the same! This time I was able to dine in after many years and WOW it was so good! First time trying the momos, they are so fresh and full of flavor. The tandoori chicken was sizzling hot and is finger licking good. The mango curry with lamb is sweet and it's great with the garlic nann. One thing they can improve is having better ventilation in the restaurant as my clothes smelled after eating there.

When you walk in this small cozy strip mall restaurant you are greeted by friendly smiles and delicious exotic smells of cooking. The food lives up to this. Wonderful fresh baked naan, yummy dumplings, and delicious mixed grilled platter of meats. Service is friendly and efficient, and wine by the bottle is well curated and reasonably priced. A lovely experience.

I don't know why my previous review disappeared, but it did. We tried several dishes here, as well as the chai tea (Nepal style). This is food of Nepal, many dishes of which resemble their Indian counterparts. I especially liked the spicy goat curry (watch out for the bones). Service can be slow and inattentive. But the food is delicious. We'll be back.

Man, I really want to give 4 stars here, but I just can't quite give it the 4th, unfortunately…read more I had just finished a grueling four days* of working in Puget Sound, which involved a lot of being out and about without knowing where I'd be or what I'd be doing the next hour, so you can imagine how exhausted I was when I came in to order a nice takeout meal for dinner. For whatever reason, I was craving Mediterranean food, and when I was searching for Mediterranean food in the Bothell area, where I was going to be spending the next couple of days afterwards, this restaurant showed up third on the list! As I was looking through the menu, I noticed their main cuisine is Indian cuisine, yet they also served Mediterranean food, which I thought was intriguing, yet a little dubious as I believe that a restaurant serving a multitude of cuisines could subject themselves to being spread too thin in their kitchen. I had looked at their menu beforehand and had decided to get the Gyro Platter, Butter Masala with Chicken, and the Goat Biryani, hoping the Goat would also mean "Greatest of All Time." I also got some butter and garlic naan to go with the meal. When I came in, Azmat was there to serve me. He had such a pleasant and calming demeanor that I wish the quality of the food would have matched that of his level of service. After reciting my order to him, he mentioned it would take 15 to 20 minutes for my order to be ready. I was sitting in a seat by the front door while several other customers came in to pick up their online orders. I thought about ordering online, but realized it would have cost a few dollars extra to do so, hence why I decided to go there in person to order. After 10 minutes, a server noticed me sitting there and offered to assist. I knew it was early, so there wasn't much she could do at this point. 15 minutes later, an employee came from the back to hand me my takeout order while apologizing for the long wait. Well, not too bad of an extended wait though. But what was too bad was the two Indian dishes that I ordered. Neither the Goat Biryani nor the Butter Masala really left any impression whatsoever. They definitely didn't taste bad, but I felt the flavors in both were quite muted. I did like the Gyro Platter better, though, but I wouldn't say it was as good as other Mediterranean spots I've been to in SoCal. The Naan breads didn't leave any impression either; I would have guessed it was just plain Naan bread. For a fraction of the cost, I'm sure you could go to one of Safeway, Fred Meyer, or even QFC for a pack of plain Naan bread that would taste almost as good. Bay Leaf Bar & Grill is located at the base of the Junction Apartments next to McMenamins Anderson School. There's plenty of parking closer to the school, but parking adjacent to Bay Leaf is quite scarce. There's a wide bike path that almost looks like a sidewalk, but is wide enough for cars to drive through. There are a few on-street parking spots directly in front, but right before these spots, there's an alleyway that has a few parking spots albeit 15 minutes only. Some of the spots are reserved for McMenamins, but I do remember the first one not having any mention of McMenamins. I wouldn't mind coming back if I wanted a taste of both Mediterranean and Indian in the same meal, especially since the interior looked so fancy and well-maintained! However, if I wanted just one or the other, I'd look elsewhere next time I'm visiting the area. Overall, 7 stars out of 10, but rounded down. * My visit was back in November of 2025; I had gone on a hiatus from posting reviews, hence the rather last post.
