I had a terrific experience buying a used Toyota RAV4 at Grace Auto Sales this week. When I chose the less expensive model of the two cars I was considering, Soto never tried to convince me to buy the pricier model. He agreed that the one I chose seemed to be the right fit. Soto and all of his colleagues were pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere was laid back yet efficient. It's very important to me to support local businesses and a bonus when the business is family-owned. It's refreshing to be in the presence of folks who seem to enjoy their jobs and one another. I will update this review if anything goes wrong with the car. Otherwise, assume I'm a happy customer. NOTE: I suggested to the owner that he consider doing away with the scented candle that was burning in the front office. I made the point that while the candle smelled nice enough, many folks (myself included) are very sensitive to fragrances (as evidenced by the booming market of fragrance-free products). The owner received my feedback good-naturedly enough, but left the candle burning as he walked away. Meanwhile, I had to excuse myself, go out to the car and take an antihistamine, before I could return inside to complete the transaction because multiple chemical sensitivity is a real thing and those of us who have it spend extra time and money to avoid being overwhelmed by the off-gassing of scented products and services. I wonder how many folks complain about not having a scented candle burning when they shop for cars. ;-)

When we were sold the car, they stated that this car has been " thoroughly inspected" but somehow after only 5 and half months we have had to put out collectively $10k .. that's way more than the vehicle is even worth. If you plan on buying a car from here, do your research, look over the car thoroughly, if possible take it to a trusted mechanic before you agree to purchase. After checking Toyota's actual maintenance schedule and speaking with two independent mechanics, it turns out neither service was urgent or required. A PCV valve on a nearly new Toyota doesn't need replacement at this mileage unless there are symptoms (there weren't), and the A/C cleaning is an optional deodorizing treatment. The part that bothered me wasn't the upsell itself, but the way it was framed: warm tone, urgent language, and the assumption that I wouldn't question it. Anyone coming here should double‑check recommendations against Toyota's maintenance schedule or an independent mechanic, because some of the urgent items I was given turned out to be optional. I'll still come here for basic maintenance, but I'll be double‑checking every recommendation going forward.

There were many available in different trims with various options. I drove up last Tuesday and drove the one I was interested in and negotiated and got a good price. The pricing currently on all brands of trucks are a bit outrageous but, I bought one in the limited trim (mid-level) that had all the options I was looking for. The "out the door price" was a bit under than what I expected and I qualified for 1.9% financing. In today's economy that's a score. I was able to purchase the bed cover, step rails and tailgate inserts and all were installed by the dealership for free. The bed cover alone is a thousand dollar install. So that translated to more savings. The salesperson I dealt with as well as the business manager were professional and courteous. I inquired here because the Toyota dealerships near me in North Carolina had much smaller inventory and would not negotiate on pricing. What was on the window sticker was the price I was told. It was worth the two hour drive up and back on two separate days to purchase a vehicle I was looking for.

I took my car back to the dealership a few days ago for an oil change, a state inspection, and one of my tires what almost flat. Had to leave overnight and the lady at the desk very rudely told me to fill out the drop box paper. I asked where the drop box was and she simply gestured and said "that way" with no clear instruction. I repeated "where?" And again just "that way". Okay so now I drive around the building and fill out the little form explaining what I need done the next day and drop it off. The next day comes and the guy, Chad, doesn't even act like he read the sheet. He was like "I didn't see anything about tires" and I had written out what was going on. I even wondered if they were mixing up my car with someone else's. I went in when it was done and the lady at the cash register was really rude and acted like she hated her job. On top of that they tried to sell me work that I had just gotten done so it was obvious they hadn't even checked those things and we're just trying to get over $400 out of me on a $23 part that I had just gotten replaced.
