Located inside Richmond Public Market. Only tried their garlic crab. Was $16. Tasted good bc it f all the garlic but the crab seemed old. Meat was very dry/sinewy inside and stuck into the shell.

Probably one of the best deals in the Richmond Public Market food court. Parking is available in the parkade next to the food court. The box is a nice large square, and they don't skimp out. Each portion of protein is a nice big scoop. Looks like they also include soup with a combo purchase. They do have other menu items, but everyone comes here for the takeout.

Cash only, and they have an ATM machine right nearby. Their food is so good and their portion is HUGE! And they give you extra stuff and really pack your box! There were few of us so we got a variety of food and it was all so delicious! I'm from California and I have to say the Chinese food in Richmond is so so much better, fresher, tastier, cheaper, and just did not hurt me afterward like the greasy Chinese food back home in LA. So good!

Hubs wanted just the fried chicken legs but was upsild and ended up getting rice and vegetables as well. Hubs noted the fried chicken legs were crispy, flavorful, and not too oily. Must say the vegetables were also quite tasty, and they filled the container with a lot of rice.

Three-Item Combo ($11): crunchy and tasty!

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE Looking for a good pre-made food option at Richmond Public Market? Captain Wa is da boss when it comes to large portions, good food, at a cheaper price! === 2. FOOD Three-Entree Combo ($11): a great price - considering it's regular price available all-day! With a choice of white rice, fried rice, or noodles, the food is pretty good. The vegetables (zucchini, broccoli, Shanghai bok choy) are have the "freshness" crunch, the fried chicken crispy, the steamed fish has a little heat, the beef and chicken slices are tender, the napa cabbage and glass noodles were a little soft but flavourful. The honey spare ribs were meaty. Overall, everything was pretty good without being too salty. === 3. SERVICE It's fast and worked in English, though I overheard Cantonese and Mandarin speakers be served well enough. === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's a food stall in a food court, so it's all optimized for takeout and it's a good as the aging Richmond Public Market gets. As such, wheelchairs and baby strollers fit just fine and parking is...as competitive as it usually is in the parkade outside!

I stopped by here recently and tried their three items with rice. The three items should be Szechuan Style Sweet and Sour Spareribs, Fried Squid Tentacles, and Stir Fry Beef with Mushroom and Celery. The squid tentacles were good. The spareribs were decent with nice pieces and good flavour. The stir fry was okay. Overall, it was amazing value for the amount of food. Note that they may give a bit more closer to closing time and that they only accept cash.

This is usually my go-to spot to get food during occasions. Today was very disappointing. Although they give out samples. I ordered two party trays. Woman said it'll take 20 mins, usually true to their word. I ended up waiting an hour and every time I asked how much longer she kept saying "It's coming." Or "It's hot." Customer service was there not. I also notice they are pretty pushy

One of the half dozen or so ready made fast food places here at the Richmond Public Market. Two entrees plus rice, fried rice, or chow neon and soup or Chinese tea will set you back $7. Add another $0.50 and you can get a third entree. Like the others two direct competitors (Asian Foods and Wonder Wok) they don't skimp on filling your plate up. Unless you have a large appetite it's enough for two meals. (Tip: order take-out so they will put the food in a takeout container so you can take your leftovers home.). They also do made to order items. They probably have the largest selection of prepared food in the food fair. Food quality is decent. Nothing to write home about but still satisfying to the pallet. Wonder Wok probably edges the other two out in terms of taste but still Captain Wa is worth checking out for a filling cheap eat.

disappointing "beef with green onion". it is onion garnished with beef

They really don't make em like this in the States…read more Absolutely delicious burgers here! My favorite thing to get is the spicy Tex Supreme chicken sandwich. It comes out piping hot, with fresh lettuce and tomato. The chicken is crunchy and has a very spicy kick! Which is my favorite part. It's juicy and seasoned to perfection. I also love getting the chicken here. I love the seasoning for the chicken and the crispiness of the skin. The chicken meat itself is super juicy and always delicious! Service through the drive thru is always quick and efficient with a smile. A must eat every time I come to Vancouver.

FOOD In exploring the fried chicken scene in Richmond: - Popeyes has a light coating of batter, is relatively light on pepper/spice, and has marinated meat where you can taste the saline/salt. - Church's is like that of Popeyes - lighter batter, lighter on spice, but the meat itself is less marinated that what Popeyes offers. Good choice for me when Popeyes isn't readily available! It's also $0.25 cheaper per piece than that of the nearby LA Chicken. - LA would be like a mix between Popeyes and KFC - it has more pepper/spices than Popeyes with thicker batter, but smaller thighs and drumsticks. - KFC would be best for those who like a fuller set of pepper/spices, thick batter, and usually flavorful meat. === 3. SERVICE There is the handy 24/7 drive-thru service. I went inside to get a better feel for the service and it was good and fast for takeout. === 4. ENVIRONMENT This location used to be a Dairy Queen at one point and in many ways, it still is stuck as such from the late 90's or early 2000's. There is a fair amount of seating for groups of all sizes; wheelchairs and baby strollers will have no trouble fitting in except for perhaps getting to the lower seating areas. The location is optimized for drive-thru service, so parking is in the shopping lot complex across the laneway / drive-thru lane.
