I wish all of my projects went this smooth. The owner is very easy going and knows his business. His pricing is also very reasonable. The work was expertly executed very quickly. I wish all my projects were this painless! I just recommended this contractor to a close friend.

I've been around the block a few times when it comes to big home building / construction projects so I am not super easily impressed. That said, I wholeheartedly recommend Ken, Angelo, and the rest of the crew at Capstone Masonry. I had a big and expensive soil grading / retaining wall project that needed to be done, and Ken and his crew did it in 2.5 weeks. All throughout the process, Ken was efficient, communicative, and honest. He kept the job site and clean as could be, and he was super honest and clear about pricing ---- he didn't try to nickel and dime me at all, and where there were overages due to unforseen issues, he explained them to me super clearly. 100% recommended.

This company was great to work with from beginning to end . The crew was professional and considerate of the neighbor's and always left the construction site spotless. Mr. Campbell was at my home daily to ensure all was up to par and always communicated any changes . The landscape was worth every penny spent couldn't be any happier.

Ken Campbell's crew did an awesome job using Belgard Melville plank pavers on our house. He did the entire house. He intention is all about making us happy - not what is easy and quick for him. He used high quality product. His crew is trustworthy helpful kind and polite. They are skilled and knowledgeable in what they do. Have been with him for years. They do excellent work. Showed up on time everyday. Ken pointing out anything the home owner may not think of - like sprinkler landing on pavers due to the design , step height I'm very impressed with his integrity we had a lot of rain while he was building our back and front area and few time He said it was too wet and needed to dry out a day or two before moving forward- rather than to push through so he could get to the next job His prices are extremely fair. He doesn't nickel and dime you for changes. The job site was always clean and organized. Ken's crew speaks English. Ken is on the job a-lot of the time over seeing things You'll be very happy with Ken's work.

This is the pavers Ken installed in my front yard. (Please ignore all the paint samples on my house.)

Yelp's automated review software removed my first review of Capstone Masonry for some odd reason, so I'm back to write another because that's how strongly I feel about how truly superior this company is among most contractors I've worked with over the years. If you will, please see my original review that I wrote right after Ken finished installing pavers, stacked stone and pilasters in my front yard remodel in February 2020. All that I said I will not repeat here (since you may read it by clicking on the "reviews that are not currently recommended" link) but I still believe this company is top notch in its field. And the personal integrity of the owner, Ken, is unsurpassed in my experience. I discovered something about a month after he had finished my work, and I thought his crew had done it. I called him and he responded by coming out to fix it. BUT, as it turns out, it was another contractor that had actually perpetrated the issue. He knew that but didn't sweat it. He just wanted me to by happy with the work, which was related to his contribution to my remodel. Thanks Ken! I will call on you again and tell all my friends and neighbors about what a great guy and capable mason you are!! NOTE: I'm adding some photos to this review even though I'm not done with my front yard yet. Please just look at the beautiful work Ken did for me, not the unfinished parts.

Ken and his crew did a fantastic job. The work turned out amazing. Very professional, timely , and fair. He gave some great suggestions. Unlike others we contacted( salesman gives you a bid), Ken himself is the one in charge of the project with years of installation experience hands on. We were very pleased we selected Capstone. Took the 70's out of the house. Thanks Ken and crew!

Fantastic results on our patio and driveway replacement. They carefully covered the pool and moved our outdoor furniture. Arrived promptly and completed on schedule. We would use them again in a heartbeat!

These guys are amazing! We lost our home in the Canyon 2 Fire in October of 2017 and these guys were able to turn our landscape design plans into reality. They did an amazing job tying in the stone in our backyard that survived the fire and made everything match perfectly. They showed up every day. They made suggestions for improvements to the design when they saw an opportunity and they worked hard to stay on budget and finish on time. They are so amazing at least 3 of my neighbors are using them!

Ken was a pleasure to work with. He has a great attitude and vision and he works well with you in finalizing your design, keeping your budget in mind. His crew was timely, efficient and very kind. They took good care of my property and granted all requests. We are very pleased with outcome. We highly recommend Capstone for your project

Ken and his team do fantastic work. They replaced my retaining walls, added the stone to my house and did my driveway.

My wife and I have a new-build that required additional landscaping of our backyard. We eventually decided to go with California Outdoor Living after reading all their positive reviews on yelp. In addition their quote was very competitive if not the best when looking at other contractors. We already had a design in mind for JC which made the process very quick. Although there was some misunderstanding with the design and drains throughout the process, JC was always responsive with his texts and quick to make adjustments. The moment we got our design approved by our HOA, the construction happened VERY FAST. We emailed California Outdoor living on a Wednesday evening of our approval. The very next day (Thursday), JC arrived to go over the outline. I do appreciate how fast things were done, but it was almost to a fault at times. They were ready to go by the next day but my wife and I didn't feel like we had discussed the plan and execution thoroughly enough. On Friday the construction workers were already digging out our backyard. They spoke only Spanish so communication was very difficult to ensure if our plan was executed appropriately. By Saturday all of the pavers were laid out. Construction was incredibly fast but because of that some details were lost in translation. We discussed with JC that we wanted an 11x14 ft paver island. However the final dimensions was 12.5 x 12.5 feet. We also wanted all the walls of our backyard to be lined with turf. However the paver border ran too close to one of the walls, that putting turf did not make sense. They only left 1 inch between the wall and the paver (see attached image). We appreciate how fast the work was done. The overall work was great BUT not exactly what we wanted. We felt rushed with the whole construction process. However everything was done in less than a week which was incredible! In addition, once the turf was laid out JC noted that window reflections from both our neighbors and our own windows would cause damage to the turf. He informed us this can happen sometimes. Going back to rushing things and not being thorough, we wished JC took the time to look at our backyard and factor in this possibility. If we had known the reflections could damage this area we would have changed our turf design. At the end of the day they are just executing our design, but it's these minor things that left us feeling like our backyard could have been better. However we are still very thrilled with the overall speed and communication done throughout the process! Would still recommend this company. But these small critiques are definitely something to keep in mind for future clients.

The drainage tube was installed with the slope going the wrong direction, and the walls were not properly covered before the concrete was poured, leaving concrete splatter all over the side walls. The concrete also cracked less than three days after it was poured. It was poured on Monday morning, and on Wednesday the artificial turf guy was using a large plate compactor right next to the two-day-old concrete. I believe the vibration from that equipment contributed to the cracking. When I spoke with JC about the issue, he told me that concrete will crack sooner or later and that is why they do not warranty cracks. Concrete was poured directly on top of the soil, no gravel was brought first. While I understand that concrete can crack over time, I did not expect it to crack before I had even made my final payment. Despite my disappointment, I paid the remaining balance. After that, I never received any follow-up confirmation that the payment was received , or even a simple thank you.

My yard was overgrown and a mess. The sod from 2000 was done and full of weeds. The planting areas were in terrible shape. Fern and I talked and together we put together an idea of a combination of sod and DG. I mentioned to him that I always ask for more than discussed and to make sure he added the additional expense. They showed up on time every day at 6:30am and worked nonstop until dusk. They removed two big truck loads of dirt, old sod, weeds, roots and old plants by loading the truck using wheelbarrows. They put in new drip irrigation, new sprinkler lines and valves and repaired my outdoor electrical outlets. They built three paver borders and used cement to make a paver border fence I built by stacking blocks permanent. He cleaned out a raised planter not in the quote, fixed the drip lines and mulched and used my old fountain to build a bird feeder space in the planter. The quote was very fair and the addition price for the added work was very fair also. I will definitely be using him again for my next project. He also installed new ceramic tiles with my address on the front of the house and cleaned out part of my gutters and fixed the leaks to keep them from dripping on the DG. Use Fern for your landscaping needs and I'm sure you will be very satisfied!

Some other people that I reached out to gave me ridiculous quotes or would give me other options that were way out of my budget. Once I proceeded with Fern, his team came out as scheduled and worked diligently. The entrance to my backyard is very narrow, making the use of any wheelbarrows or dollies not an option. Fern and his team carried heavy retaining wall blocks one by one into the backyard as well as gravel by the bucket without any complaints. I feel they even worked longer hours each day to try and get the job done in a timely manner. They did an amazing job and did exactly what I was requesting for. I would highly recommend working with Fern for any landscaping projects.

However, when I first met Mr. Lee and started discussing the project, I just knew that he was the one to hire due to his confidence and expertise in his field. I felt a strong sense that he wasn't out to get me, but rather to honestly help me and rebuild the wall with budget in mind. I chose Lee's over two other previous bids, and I am very glad I did. On day one of the demolition phase, foreman Augustine and his awesome crew just blew my mind at how efficient, precise and hard working they were. Needless to say, I was extremely impressed and felt at ease, knowing that I was definitely in good hands. Within a week, I had a beautiful brand new retaining wall built better than ever. Equally impressive was Joyce at the office making sure I was never left hanging with questions or concerns. All my queries were handled in a timely manner. For anyone looking for concrete/brick contractor, I highly recommend Lee's Concrete.

This was my very first time hiring anybody to do any sort of landscaping work. I was ignorant going…read moreinto it so I had to lean heavily into the landscapers expertise on what would be best for what I wanted to achieve. After getting a few quotes, I chose Lee's Concrete because he impressed me the most with the ideas he presented, not being pushy or sales-y, while also staying competitive price wise. He is also officially licensed for concrete. The project started around May 2025, and completed towards the end of July 2025. It consisted of concrete pouring, artificial turf installation, irrigation routing and laying out gravel/river rocks in planting areas. Also, a 2D layout diagram was provided for me to submit to HOA for approval. Below is a list of critiques ranked starting with my biggest letdowns: #1) WEEDS. Not via the concrete, but the artificial turf that was laid out. Lee offered artificial turf installs during my contractor search. My main reason for getting artificial turf was to have little-to-no maintenance. But, mines constantly has weeds growing out of the edges due the gap in the ends not being sealed. My next door neighbor had artificial turf installed by another landscaper and never has any weeds growing out of the edges ever. They had theirs installed after mine. Maybe it was my fault for not communicating that need initially. But at the same time, I thought having artificial turf laid out and it preventing weed growth on the edges would be a given. #2) Blotchy concrete coloring on front yard. My backyard's concrete coloring was pretty consistent and I was very happy with how it turned out. But my front yard was very blotchy and inconsistent. I was told that this is normal and will take about a year to cure and to give it time. Another reason was for differing "pH levels" for the area where the concrete was laid. Well... a year has passed and it has kind of improved here and there, but not so much in other parts. So, I'm a little hesitant to believe it that is actually the reason. It doesn't make sense to me that all the concrete laid out in my entire neighborhood doesn't look as bad as how it looks on my driveway. Structurally, it's fine. But it is a bit of an eye-sore looking at it every time I'm in my front yard. #3) I felt like I spent more time than I needed to checking for imperfections. A main one was my vinyl fence and cinder block wall getting dirty from the concrete pours. Another big one was the cinder block retaining wall in my backyard not being symmetrical on the edges. I had to call it out a few times to even get it fixed. Once it was finally fixed, my vinyl fence had residue from the cinderblock wall fix. By that time, I had gotten fatigue from having to constantly call out imperfections and let that one go. #4) You don't really know when the landscapers will come out to do the work. If I remember correctly, they would come out most weekdays. But, you wouldn't know if they would show up the next day or not. Not too big of a deal honestly. I'm more picky about this because I like to keep the side gate to my backyard locked and not knowing when to unlock it in the morning was just a tiny annoyance. I ended up just unlocking it first thing in the morning and locking it in the evening every weekday. Overall, I'd rate the project a 3 or 3.5 out of 5 - which I think is a very fair assessment. I'm relatively happy how it looks at the end. But there were a few bumps along the way which is why I cannot give a 5 out of 5. It pains me to write the above critiques and not be able to give the highest rating because Lee and the rest of his team were all very nice people. But there definitely could've have been improvements for the entire project.
