I first came to Jon to help my dad buy a car, and the whole process was seamless -- the vehicle was perfect. Later, I found out Jon also services vehicles, and after getting a ridiculous quote from a dealership, it was a no-brainer to go to him. Not only did his team handle mechanical work, but they also did paint and dent repair -- and it looks fantastic. The work came out to about 25% of what other places quoted me. Canyon State Classics always has a great selection of cars and Jon is awesome - he knows a lot about these special cars. I had been watching a particular car for a while online and finally reached out to him via email. We were able to come up with a rough agreement and I swung by to check it out in person. The staff had the car all prepped, ready to go! VMI report and original MSRP sticker had already been printed and put in the car for me to review. I traded in a 1991 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC that I had carefully restored and was given a very fair trade-in value. My family got a chance to meet Jon and see the business too and they had a great time (see pic with my son He loved all the cars). Don't have the energy nor desire to give the full account of my interaction with this place, but the guy who runs it is a real piece of work lol. Strung me along, had me waiting around for a return phone call (for God only knows how long) & ultimately wasted my time. I saw something I liked on the website one day & decided to call in (even tho I had never heard of these people before & usually avoid no-name/sketchy places like this when making a major purchase). I got voicemail & hung up, after which point the (apparent) desperate owner (aka- "Jon") called me back minutes later. I inquired about the vehicle in question, at which point he started bragging about how nice it was (which should have been a HUGE red flag, but I decided to stay on the call). As some point following our initial conversation & my submission of an application for financing (at his request), he immediately started judging me based on my credit, completely disregarding the fact that I now work 3 jobs & have the ability to pay off nearly any vehicle in his (unimpressive) inventory in less than 6 months (or IMMEDIATELY, as would be the case with this vehicle). In the end, he suddenly claimed (a day or so later) that the vehicle in question was back in the shop for some unknown "repair" & would be out of the shop soon. He eventually "bait & switched" me to his low-life "finance guy" (aka- "Jack Estrada") who talked down to me like I was some random 14-year-old kid that never owned a vehicle before & he then tried to bully me into purchasing a completely different vehicle from a completely different inventory (all of which is apparently how they treat people [by DEFAULT] who have anything less than perfect credit lol). After seeing how much of a headache financing would be with this low-life & this no-name/numb-skull "finance guy" he uses for "credit-challenged" financing, I pulled a couple strings & decided that I'd just pay for the vehicle in full (cash deal) as I had the means to do so on my $62K/yr income but simply wanted to use financing as a means of increasing my credit score (which took a hit during the pandemic [as was the case for MANY people]). Well I call this weirdo back to schedule a test drive, he answers the phone claiming that the vehicle was still in the shop, & then he asks me if I talked to his finance guy yet because "he doesn't think he can get me done" (at which point I immediately advised him of my decision to pay in cash following the negative experience I had with his incompetent & condescending "finance guy" [whom I no longer wished to use]). Jons demeanor & attitude immediately changed once I advised him that it would be a cash deal (aka- no financing), at which point he said "cool deal, let me see whats going on with the truck", & that was the last time I heard from him. In summary, Jon judged me & basically gave up on me the second he became aware of my "less than perfect" credit, ultimately proving that he was far too stupid to read between the lines & recognize the difference between A. a broke person & B. a prospective customer who is MORE than capable of paying for a vehicle in full due to their current income (from THREE income sources lol). Some kinda weird/low IQ stuff going on with this guy, & while I'm not 100% sure about what his actual problem is, all that glitters is not gold & I have a feeling I dodged a HUGE bullet by not doing business with Jon &/or his "finance guy" that he spoke so highly of (especially after checking out some of the reviews on Google & learning all about how he tends to treat people both before the sale & after [including but not limited to selling SEVERAL lemons & speaking to people in a condescending tone just like "Jack" does]). I thankfully found another vehicle elsewhere (at a lower price, with FAR less miles, ZERO shadiness/condescending tone & ZERO hassles/excuses whatsoever) & didn't have to deal with ANY of the BS I dealt with when simply attempting to schedule a test drive with Canyon State Classics. I will make sure to steer clear of this place when I purchase my next "backup" vehicle a few weeks from now, & I will ABSOLUTELY warn any of my contacts against dealing with this place as well. If any new car salesmen wish to learn how to chase off prospective future (LOYAL) customers & talk down to them in a condescending manner without FULLY understanding their CURRENT financial situation, make sure to hit up this loser for some tips as he seems to be quite the expert at all the above lol. read more

Recently purchased a 2003 E500 Mercedes Benz from Canyon State Classics. The car is extremely clean and low miles! Jon has a knack for picking out classic gems and he puts love into them to make them look brand new! It's like stepping into a time machine! He even helped to get the ball rolling on my small car loan to cover the rest after my cash down payment! We (my wife and I) gave a deposit to hold a car pending our ability to secure financing being that this dealership does not offer financing. Finding only terrible rate options for a car of this age (9 years old) we decided not to purchase. Jon tells us after the fact that this deposit is/was non-refundable. We did not discuss this fact in advance that this deposit was not refundable or we would not have given the deposit as there was no way to know what the financing offers would look like. Feel like this was deliberate deception and frankly a cheap move to hold on to the money after the fact. He has refused phone calls about this and only communicates via text. When the virus hit, I had a 2005 classic Thunderbird convertible stored in Phoenix, which I drove when on assignment and on vacation in the US. With international travel suddenly shutting down indefinitely, I was not sure whether I'd ever be back in the US - meanwhile the car was, sadly, costing me hundreds a month in storage, insurance and depreciation with no end in sight. I found Jon's site at random on Google, and called him the next day. He helped me out in stellar fashion; he retrieved the car, closed the storage garage, did needed maintenance before the sale, suggested a very fair price, and did all the 'work' involved in selling on consignment, for a very fair commission. Probably the best experience I've ever had buying a pre-owned car. Jon was extremely honest and it's clear he cares far more about integrity and maintaining a reputable business than making a quick buck. My husband recently bought a Porsche from these guys. I met Jon (the owner I think) when we picked it up. He was a such an honest salesman. It's a 20 year old car so there were a few small flaws that Jon pointed out earlier before my husband decided to buy. These were things that he easily could have kept quiet about since we never would have noticed. How many used car dealers operate like that? If his ad say's "runs great" or "the car has been gone through from front to back by our mechanic with over 40 yrs. experience" RUN! I purchased a late model classic car from these guys in April 2019. The car needed some maintenance to fix some oil leaks and two of the door pulls. We agreed on a price that included having these items fixed on delivery. A few days after delivery I noticed some oil on my garage floor. I called CSC and they immediately put me in touch with a specialist mechanic. I dropped off the car to him the next day. A few days later it was finished. My only gripe is that one of the headlamps was burnt out at when I took delivery... not that big a deal... it was fixed for $9 and about 15 minutes. All in all, they said what they were going to do... and they did what they said they would. What more can you ask? I would certainly do business with them again. read more

Just purchased a 35th Anniversay Corvette from them. For the most part they were easy to deal with. The reason only two stars is that I purchased the vehicle long distance and even had the vehicle checked out mechanically which was a good idea. Found out the amps were bad to the speakers even though the ad said the stereo worked great. After agreeing to fix the issue, when I recieved the car the amps and speakeres still pop and the stereo does not work as it should. Canyon State Classics left out important cosmetic items that needed attention even though I asked what was needed. Was never informed the Targa top needed the headliner repaired/ replaced. Forgot to mention that the car originally came with two tops and it only had one. Was disappointed in the "detail" . Paid asking price for the vehicle expecting it to be in better condition. Buyer beware ask for more pics when purchasing a vehicle froim them. There pics are misleading as they dont show the flaws. read more

2012 Jaguar XKR, 58K miles, $29k what beauty on Car Gurus. But no picture of the convertible top? After asking dealer for pictures with the top up I noticed that it was damaged. It will cost $5K to get it fixed. I replied asking what is your best price given that this car is actually damaged and the top would have to be replaced, but if it checks out mechanically I would be willing to make a deal - cash. Lol, no surprise and true to the reputation of used car salesmen (descendants of carpet baggers?), here was the response..."Honestly you sound too picky to do business with. I appreciate your interest but I will pass. Price is great for this car and the fact you referred to this car as damaged goods is all I need to hear. Best of luck." If I spend more than $100 bucks I usually try and scrutinize my purchases, same goes for a $30,000 (plus tax and registration). Question is, why did they not reveal the "damaged" rooftop in the first place? Hmmm? read more
