After a major accident that totaled my car, I found myself back on the market for my next vehicle purchase. I was very leary of purchasing pre-owned as I have heard so many horror car buying stories of shady salesman, selling faulty vehicles and lacking clarity about the true vehicle condition, so I started my research. It took me close to a month of research, before I found a preowned dealership that still honored integrity. I knew the cars I was interested in and found my way to Goldie's. I was working with another dealership, as I had been pre-approved, but let me tell you what made the difference.. the service at Goldie's ! Through text and email, John, my sales-friend, (I call him) was so relatable and communicative. Walking in I have to admit is pretty cool, in the show room they had a old school IMMACULATE Corvette, a skew ball machine, and arcade games it felt unlike any other dealership I had walked in. The owners son greeted me and asked if I needed anything and to let him know if I did! He was the sweetest teenager. When they say Goldie's is a family business they really mean it ! I was working with John and let me tell you he was so transparent and honest it was like a breath of fresh air. I had considered other vehicles they had but he talked me through the maintenance cost, resale value and common mechanical issues each of the cars I had considered. Once I settled on a vehicle he was able to check for me the maintenance records as well as reviewed the carfax report with me. When I took the car for a test drive he told me to take my time get to know the car and make sure it was right for me. I never felt pressured to purchase. I was having a horrible time in dealing with the insurance payout of my previous vehicle and John was very empathetic in understanding my situation. He had set expectations before I came that with the insurance payout being delayed I may not be able to take the vehicle the vehicle home. I was thrilled with the no pressure atmosphere, and just came to take a look at the vehicle in person, with zero expectation to buy. John and his manager worked magic. I did in fact decide to purchase my vehicle and was able to take it home, there is a small cosmetic issue that I requested to have repaired and he called immediately and got the approval to get it taken care of. I'll be returning later this week to have that completed. I'll keep you guys posted after the service appointment. I had a great experience and I feel I got a good deal on my vehicle and, I felt like my business was valued, my concerns were heard and they've made a lifelong customer out of me ! Luis (sale person) stated the vehicle would be available for pick up the next day. I was deceived by this business regarding the features present on the used car I recently purchased. Living in CA, I trusted Adam Goldberg to confirm two features i wanted to ensure were identified in their ad. The most important feature was full leather interior placed in their ad. Upon arrival it was obvious the car had synthetic interior, clearly not leather. I contacted Adam expressing my frustration and rather then accepting responsibility for the false advertising and fraud, he blamed me because I believed what he said and did not compare the window sticker line by line to find their false advertisement. Be wary of this dealer. I was interested in a vehicle that looked nice, had a good Carfax report, and reasonable mileage. They advertised it as "NO HIDDEN SURPRISES!!" However, upon Googling the VIN, I was surprised to find photos from a vehicle auction site showing the same car with panel damage to multiple panels and front bumper detached on one side. Clearly in an accident at some point. The Carfax report shows clean. The vehicle was purchased from an auction at 67,925 mi in a damaged state, detailed/repaired, and then listed by this dealership at the same mileage, 67,925 mi. I would like to know how they were unaware of it. Upon asking about the previous damage (which would have been nearly impossible to overlook since the vehicle was bought at 67,925 mi with damage, and they are now selling it with the SAME mileage), they responded with a passive-aggressive comment: "We don't have access to every scratch that was ever fixed on 13-year-old vehicles." THE VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT WITH KNOWN DAMAGE AS-IS ON 04/03/2024 (WITHIN THIS YEAR), IT WAS UNDER GOLDIE'S NAME BY 04/10/2024, DETAILED ON 05/01/2024, AND THEN DIRECTLY RELISTED ON 05/13/2024!!! I would have been fine with the previous damage had they disclosed it initially, but it was extremely easy to find the photos of the damage, and it's not like it went through 3 different owners after the accident. The way they responded after I simply asked about the damage on a car they are trying to sell me also left a bad taste in my mouth. Who knows what else they fail to disclose. If you can afford to lay out $26,000 for a car and then within 3 months have to pay thousands more to repair it and then a few months later pay thousands more, and that appeals to you, then Goldie's is for you. This is what I have been able to piece together about my car's likely history. It was originally purchased in 2020 and was in an accident which was never reported to CarFax. It then sat in a lot being pieced out (by now I feel like there are more aftermarket parts in this car than OEM). Then Goldie's purchased it, put in an aftermarket catalytic converter (the original had been pieced out), covered up the damage, and sold it to me as a car in almost new condition which was, I was told, still under warranty. They lied. These people are as crooked as a 25-hour day. I could keep reviewing them for as long as I'm stuck with this car because more things keep popping up. The "Emissions System Problem" alert that keeps popping up on my dashboard is due to the aforementioned aftermarket catalytic converter Goldie's installed. (Cost to fix will be over $2500.) When I bought the car, they said the original had been stolen off the car, but the mechanic said that's a bs story (has to do with unbolting it from the manifold...). Just one more Goldie's lie among too many to count. Goldie's blamed their contractors when I originally complained about extensive work that had to be done on the car. They said they're opening their own shop so they don't have to use unreliable contractors. But they also claimed to me that their contractors are reputable and honest. They also told me they had paid someone to fix several items which Tempe Honda specifically stated were evidence of the car having been in an accident. Yet Goldie's did NOT inform me of all of this damage or all of the work they claimed to have done. They also apparently asked the contractors not to report work done to CarFax - I would never have purchased the car had I seen a list of work on the CarFax. In the end, the problem has nothing to do with their contractors - the problem is that Goldie's is run by dishonest and unethical people. I filed a claim with the BBB, which I believe can be viewed publicly. They acted like they were working with me but all they were interested in doing was defending themselves and pretending they had done nothing wrong. When you are reading the reviews on Yelp, see how many of the 1 stars are from 2023/2024. On Yelp they have only slightly over 1 star in 2023. And on Google... you decide which sound like authentic reviews - the ones that provide details and information, or the "everything was so great" reviews that feel bought. I wonder if their business model involves posting fake positive reviews. Don't rely on these reviews to be sure you'll get a good car. The folks at Goldie's are the kind of people who give used car dealerships a bad name. I feel like a fool for believing the positive reviews. This was the best car buying experience I have ever had. I didn't spend hours negotiating and wasting my time. I got approved by filling out their credit app then looked at some trucks. They had some beautiful trucks on the floor but not exactly what I wanted so I waited a week and they let me know about a Toyota Tacoma that came in and it was perfect! They let me know when it was ready, went in, signed everything, and my husband drove away in his beautiful truck. They could not get it to duplicate what was happening before the Mechanic had to leave to go home to catch his dog that had gotten loose. I began calling Doug on Tuesday for a service appointment (called 3 times) with NO return call. So I then called again first thing Wednesday morning, again he's not available and the receptionist assured me once he hangs up from his call, he will call me back. Waited an hour and a half and still no return call!! Ugh!! I then called him again, he picks up and says "oh I was just about to call you". Anyhow told him I need to bring the Porsche back in for the A/C repair and I provided him with videos showing the problem. Since our AZ temps are 110% and higher, I need to bring it right away. He then informed me know appointments available until Monday of the following week!! DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALER! We purchased a used Corvette from them a couple months ago. There was an existing mechanical issue with the car that they agreed to fix as a condition of sale. It was sent to their "corvette specialist " mechanic not once but twice and both times it was not repaired properly. Their mechanic did not torque the bolt and ended up backing itself out causing further damage. Now they are claiming it was sold without a warranty. Their response was to let their guy look at it yet again. If he had the ability to fix it properly, he would have done it one of the other times he had it. This is totally unacceptable. We have been involved with four vehicles from Goldies, with the first two experiences being good and the last two being bad. To be clear, the problem issues have been with Goldie's, not the vehicles, and they are related to poor/no communication with the customer. These are the facts on the latest vehicle. 1. We purchased this vehicle on a Wednesday and paid for it in full. Two items needed addressing before it was ready for us; a bumper hitch being installed, that was in stock at their installation vendor, and the vehicle being cleaned and detailed. We were told it should be ready Thursday or early Friday, at the latest. Thursday, no call. Friday, no call. We called Saturday afternoon and was told it was ready. When asked when it was ready, we were told it was ready Friday. When we picked it up late Saturday, we gave Micah the above feedback that we had had to initiate all communication. 2. After getting the vehicle and having a chance to do a more thorough look, I found several items that needed attention; we were given only one key fob, the vehicle manuals were wrong for the vehicle, the rear window defroster was inoperative, the tailgate would not lock, the key would not work in any lock and the interior still had some cleaning issues to be addressed. I called Dave on Sunday and made an appointment to have these addressed the upcoming Thursday. I explained to him, on that call, that whatever was done, or not done by Thursday evening was OK. I needed to pick the vehicle up Thursday evening and would give it back later. I specifically asked Dave how I would be notified, on Thursday, when I could pick it up. He said "I will personally call you". I had not heard anything as of 5:20pm Thursday and I knew they closed at 6pm. I called and asked for Dave, with my call going to his voice mail box, which was full, so I could not leave a message. By the time I got to Goldie's at 6pm they were closed. Dave called Friday morning and apologized, but we ended up having to change our travel plans to pick it up Friday morning. Again, communication issues, where I was forced to initiate. 3. By the following Tuesday, all repairs were completed, except for the correction of the lack of cleaning and detailing. I called Dave and agreed to bring it back that Friday so they could have it all day. When I went to pick it up, Adam came out to greet me and we chatted for a bit. When I went to leave, I took a look at several of the problem areas in the interior to see it they had addressed them, and they had not. A couple of specific examples were the carpeting had not been vacuumed under the floormats leaving coins, dirt and trash, there were still hairs and debris on carpet behind the front seats and the center console compartments were filthy and littered with trash. I had intended to just drive away. After seeing me inspecting the vehicle, Adam came out and I showed him the specific defects. He offered to personally (?) take care of them, but at that point, I was beyond being done and left. These three employees are the service manager, operations manager and co-owner. I got my 2013 Kia Rio from Goldies back in October 2021 and I couldn't be happier! As a first time car buyer, I was scared of being "scammed" out of my money when on the hunt. And before coming to Goldie's I had a nightmare of an experience with a different used car dealership. They tried selling me cars over 100k mileage with ridiculous interest rates that would only sink you. My friend then referred me here, and oh man, I fell in love with the experience at Goldie's from the get-go. Their website has a wide range of vehicles for every customer. I was specifically looking for a sedan under 100k miles for under $10k and they had all the nice little filters in their online inventory to allow me to search just that. So neat! And their website explains their down payment system, so you're well prepared once it comes down to it. Upon arrival, stepping in the dealership has such a nice aesthetic, very pleasing to the eye and gets you excited to look at some cars! And the fact that it's all indoors, huge plus, everything's nicely air conditioned. The cars I was interested in from their website listings were on the lot (unlike my previous experience with a diff dealership, even after calling to confirm). They let me test drive around the neighborhood. The car was fantastic. They got a bank to finance me with a low APR and awesome low monthly pmts, and best of all I got to drive out in my $10k car with only 43k miles! Best used car prices in town! Buying my truck started off good but ended with a/c going out. Changed upper and lower valves which anyone could have seen they were leaking. Changed them out and Goldie's did pay for those, fixing that leak, showed a bigger leak this time J/B weld on the condenser so someone knew, before I bought the truck they knew it had a/c problems because they refilled it and said they did. Now that I'm driving around in 120 degree heat with no a/c no one wants to get in touch after three weeks. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. If they have certified mechanics they would have caught the first leak and then found the second leak. I will have someone trust worthy to fix it. Because Goldie's is not. read more

At signature time we were informed that in addition to the expected documentation...blah blah fees, they add $1,000 as their profit. Yup-it's in the small print of the internet ad. So the listed sale price is NOT the actual purchase price. Pretty well into the sneaky side of the spectrum. Shop no further than Goldie's! Right when you walk in you see all the amazing iconic cars from the past in the front showroom. Plus a HUGE, clean indoor facility that holds the rest of their quality vehicles. We'd been looking for sometime throughout the Metro Phoenix Area. Happened upon this place, thanks to the MANY positive YELP reviews. Looked to their website and found a few cars of interest. First time in, ZERO pressure and a nice greeting from Jeff. Which found out later to be one of the owners! As we were leaving Jeff said " was there anything you're possibly interested in" said we were looking for our son and told Jeff we'd been to a few other places & what cars our son was leaning towards. That brief encounter was extremely friendly and Jeff gave us some good tips / advise on the vehicles we were looking into. He also informed us of what was coming in, in our price range & to keep them in mind. At that first initial visit, we took his name and number and the assistant ( aka MOM) pulled up the vehicles to show us-that were coming in that may "peak our interest". In the next week we visited a few other lots, but found ourselves drawn back to Goldie's. We called & spoke with Micah over the phone. We found a few more cars that were posted to the website that came in and a few others that were still currently on the lot & inquired about those. We then visited again - just this last Sunday July 8th & we met with Adam. So come to find out, Jeff & Adam are brothers, Micah is their cousin. Family Affair, LOL This interaction again friendly, comfortable. My son was set up to test drive 3 vehicles. A copy of his drivers license was made and we were off to drive the 1st car. As we came back, the 2nd car was ready to go, test drove that & by the time we arrived back the 3rd car was ready to go! Great customer service! That was impressive!! Our decision to choose between two cars was harder than the sales approach for sure! It was between the Kia Optima & Ford Fusion. Adam took us into his office & was so personable. He actually expressed to us the positives & negatives with each vehicle. As parents: our biggest concern was a "first time buyer", age, economical, & our treasured child! We really wanted something that fit him in every way & keep him safe. Adam made this such an easy process & a positive choice for us all. The five-star rating that Goldie's has on Yelp has definitely been earned. They are honest and direct. They have good inventory and just don't leave you feeling sleezy like you would at other dealerships. They don't work off commission (hopefully this is common knowledge), which leads to no pressure, no pushy-ness etc. John in particular was great to work with! Would highly recommend! read more
