Reached out for interest on a 2015 Nissan Rogue, priced $8,891 via online search, with indication of a $599 documentation fee included as shown in attached images. After 7 hours of delays, repeated follow-ups & time-wasting runaround/alternative recommended offerings of zero interest to me as a consumer, purchase order was sent at literal end-of-day (after hours for my credit union to process today, where I had preapproval for loan before even contacting them) with separate charge added for documentation fee + $1,430 "Reconditioning" fee, neither of which were ever disclosed during conversation. This is in stark contrast of AZ A.R.S. 28-4115, specific to "online pricing must match what is paid for item in offer." When dealership was informed of this, a voicemail was left indicating "well, don't say it has been sold," followed by text messages saying it has been sold (attached with relevant party phone extensions), despite a call to dealership indicating the car is available placed by a friend after the incident. Do not do business with these individuals. Everything else on their lot has minor-to-moderate wreck damage (repaired, in some cases)/high mileage, and sales people seem only interested in using this car as bait to draw interest, then pivot to lesser offerings on the lot/attempt to take advantage of unknowing consumers by including fees in this manner for individuals who did not perform online research before walking in. read more

When you call they won't give you "more information" until you drive down there and look at the car, only then do they hit you with a "reconditioning fee". 12/10/25 I thought Bait & Switch was illegal. Old Rav online for $6500. Called to confirm. Drove 40 minutes. Test drive. Then the price sheet by the horrible sales guy. "Let's walk to my office (cubicle) then sheet down on the desk, "Let's look at the CarFax." Apparently, he thought it was 1974 and the internet wasn't real. I've done my homework; I've looked at the CarFax. I told him I already looked at it online and just wanted to see the price sheet and buy the car. $600 "Dealer" fee and $1600 "Refinishing" fee, which of course they couldn't substantiate. These crooks think adding $2200 or 35% increase in price is good business. What a waste. I asked the clown pretending to be a sales guy if he had the authority to remove the BS fees. He said he didn't, at which point I grabbed the paper and walked to the 12-year-old pretending to be a sales manager. I said, "You know why people hate car dealerships? This is why. This bait & switch BS." After he said he couldn't remove the BS fees, I threw the keys on his desk and walked out. Think about it. Cash buyer. Ready to go. Quick and easy sale. Nope. Games. They sold me a super mega lemon! I think my salesman, Sunday, knew the Ford Escape he sold me was a bucket of trouble. As I was driving home from the dealership, I stopped to get gas. When I tried to start the car again, it wouldn't start. I called the dealership and Sunday laughed audibly then gave me a step-by-step jumbo jumbo to start the car that seemed to work. Every time I fueled up the car, I had to do this special ritual to get it to start again. Okay, whatever... But then, the transmission went out a few months later. It was covered by the warranty that Ideal required me to get, so... whatever... But then, the engine went out about six months later. The warranty was only good for the assessed value of the car and I had already used it up getting the transmission fixed! It wasn't whatever anymore, it was thousands of dollars out of my pocket. So far, the repairs on the car had cost me as much as the car itself. You would think I had enough pain, but no... Another four or five months passed and a tire blew out in the Glamis area late at night. I got lucky to get a tow truck out there at all. Now, I finally had enough and sold the SUV, but it wasn't done with me... United Kia took the car in as trade, but I had to carry the balance from my lemon loan. Whatever, just get me out from under this car... I guess the dealer had trouble with the transfer of liability, so that fell back on me. It was some magic Ideal Cars voodoo that caused this, I am sure. I filed that darn form three times, then finally got on a chat with the DMV. More magic voodoo caused the transfer of liability form to be misfiled. Okay... resolved now?...F-NO!!! I picked up my mail today and had a citation from City of Calexico and a notice of pending sale from a towing company in Calexico. I've only been to Calexico once and I wasn't driving that car!! More voodoo!!! I am sending copies of my transfer of liability at my own expense yet again. A $6000 mistake has cost me twice that so far and I am still paying since the balance was rolled into my new car loan nearly two years ago. And the pain and suffering of having to fight with the DMV is priceless. I'll never buy a car at Ideal again and I advise others to steer clear. Lack of transparency and undisclosed part swaps -- buyer beware!!! This dealer doesn't even deserve 1 star. I purchased a used car from Ideal Cars and later discovered the dealership swapped the tires for significantly older ones (2019 & 2020) on a 2021 model year vehicle.  All 4 tires were different, and for 2 of them, "inside" was showing outside with the tire balancing was not done. They also removed the spare tire and jack kit, along with other original accessories. What's more, the battery died only a couple of months after purchase, despite appearing fine during the test drive. These failures occurred well after purchase, leaving me to suspect additional cost-cutting swaps may have been made. Because this was my first experience with this dealer, I had no way of knowing what had been changed until problems appeared later. A used-car dealership should be transparent about removed or downgraded parts -- especially when they impact safety and long-term ownership cost. I don't know what else was swapped, but the pattern I experienced has made it clear I cannot trust their inspection or preparation standards. For future buyers: Check tire DOT years on tires Confirm spare tire + jack are included Inspect accessories and condition reports Don't assume parts are original or recently serviced I will not be returning to this dealer.  In fact I will tell everyone I know to avoid this dealer and post this message on all social media. read more

I talked to Colby as well and talked to him after the mechanic check in the evening of 3/3/2026. He said he would get the paperwork started because I was interested in purchasing the car the next morning. I said ok. Bought a 2017 Chevy traverse March 9, broke down May 15. 2 months after I bought it (of course the warranty was already past the time frame), the their service center has had it going on 3 weeks and they can't figure out what's wrong with it after they run a diagnostic test on it (which I have to pay $100 for) Then I come to find out from a service tech that the codes the car had were OLD codes, that tells me they knew the car was problematic and cleared the codes or something. Then they call and tell me they were driving the car to find the issue, and that a tire blew out, so they made me pay for a tire they blew while test driving the car (another $135 I have to pay). Disinterested, rude, and would constantly interrupt and talk over me. But David Torres at the Mesa location of Ideal Cars was so easy to work with and listened to my reasons for bringing the purchase price down. I actually went by the lot with my daughter about a year ago just to look around and he was there- Didn't push anything on us and understood we were just seeing what was in her price point. This is why we went back last week. David and the rest of the staff were friendly and honest. Allowed me to take the car out on my own and get it checked. Solid and affordable. I did a lot of research on the fairest price for the care we bought and it was right there. Best experience I have EVER had at a dealer.
