Shrimp with mayo was average, small dish. We order this all the time and 8 shrimps is skimpy. It wasn't crispy or hot enough, also loaded with mayo. Beef pan fried noodles was good except no crispy noodles around the edges. Young chow fried rice was good. Prices a bit steep and it seemed they also inflated the prices on the bill from the menu. The shrimp on the menu shows $28.99 but they charged us $32. I didn't want to bother mentioning so just paid as is. Service was fine except at the end when we paid, the waitress stood there doing math on the tip. My husband asked did you tip enough, why is she still here? We came to celebrate my MIL's 95th birthday here. The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived but filled up later. There is a parking lot but we ended up parking on the street and not far away. The food was delicious. We ordered a fried whole fish, I think, flounder. I couldn't get enough of the pea shoots with garlic, though not a fancy dish. Also the steak dish with gravy and peppers was tender; the beef stew with bean curd was savory. We also had fish pieces deep fried. Nice and crispy, not soggy with grease. The only dish which was so-so was the chives with squid. Not much squid at all. Like most Chinese family style restaurants, there isn't much ambience. You go mainly for the food, not for atmosphere. We wanted dim sum and were on our way to Great Neck, but happened to pass by and made the spontaneous decision to dine here instead. We heard that BCD closed down and that a Cantonese restaurant took over. Having a parking lot and nearby residential parking is a big one for me - since parking is not as easy to find in this area of New York. We walked in and were seated right away, with the restaurant appearing to look pretty full. For Sunday brunch, there were only three ladies with carts that went around- so it took some time for each one to come by our table. Overall service was slow, but the food was good! I was hesitant to write this review as I normally don't like to give places 1 star. But I had dim sum with my family in the last week of June and we ordered one of the bean curd dishes that was wrapped around meat. I took a bite of it and immediately bit into something hard. Thinking my teeth had fallen off, I spit everything out and it was a bolt. I suspect it was the bolt from a wok or pan. I did not have the chance to take a picture but we immediately told a passing wait staff and he simply crossed off the ticker on our receipt and the dish away. But no mention of an apology or reporting it to his manager. Honestly I was disgusted after that and didn't eat anything. I wasn't sure the wait staff realized the severity of the situation had I swallowed that bolt as it would've warranted a 911 call to the ER and possibly surgery to remove it from my stomach but it is heavily concerning that there was no apology or reporting of the incident to the manager on call or the kitchen staff. Needless to say I am not coming back here with my family. I honestly was looking forward to this place since BCD closed down and this dim sum restaurant opened in its place. This place used to be BCD Tofu. It has a parking lot, but there's plenty of street parking nearby. It was packed on weekend for dinner. You have to call in to reserve a table. The waiters and waitresses were very nice. However, the food was just so so. The portion is relatively small compared to other Chinese restaurants. The price is quite high. They should probably add a little more flavor to the dishes. The tofu in one of our dishes turned bad as it tasted sour. Yet, the restaurant did not do anything about it but continued to serve it to other customers who ordered. My stomach didn't feel well after having a meal here. read more

The contempt we received two seconds after sitting down when the waitress came to take our order was palpable and unnerving. We had not said anything but hello. She did not say hello back. Only looked at us, expressionless waiting for us to order. My husband speaks conversational Mandarin and heard her say something about the Americans as she walked away. 4 3 3 Came here for New Years eve dinner. Shared the twin lobster special in Ginger scallion sauce with my date, Canton house is Flushing main st style food but in a bayside, cleaner less congested atmosphere. The service is good, in fact very good if you get the right waiter, and one of the bus boys I guess came and cleaned the plate with the empty lobster shells regularly. It was a nice meal. Canton Manor seems to get a nice crowd. In a parking lot of say 20 cars, there were 6 Tesla and a sprinkling of BMW's etc. The prices seem fair and the food is good. read more

We had dinner tonight at Canton Manor. A few dollars more than other Chinese restaurants. Food is average. We didn't order their special seafood dishes. The founder fish fillet with Chinese vegetables (yo choy) was delicious. The beef chow fun (broad rice noodle) was skimpy on the beef. The orange beef was not as crispy and the pieces of meat were chunky where if it was stripped could have been better. The walnut shrimp was as expected. Nice neighborhood restaurant with good Cantonese food. Large plates of peking pork chop, fried chicken, Chinese broccoli with beef and salted fish fried rice. Was excited to eat at this restaurant, but there were quite a few letdowns. Made a reservation for a Friday night for a party of 8. Upon arrival, it didn't take too long, and we were led downstairs to our table. The menu had a nice layout. There were many options, but being a Chinese restaurant, they also had some off the menu items. Just ask the waiter and they will give you lots of suggestions. With ordering out of the way, we get our tea. Small and cute pot, but way too small for 8. Perhaps they should note to give 2 pots for parties bigger than 6. We ask for water as well, and that took a very long time as well. After about 5 minutes, the waiter told us there was no more chicken, so we had to change our dish. Lol. it was 7:30 on a Friday night! How do you run outta chicken? Ok. no problem. About 20 minutes into the dinner, the dishes start making the way to our table. Each dish was well prepared and average in size. Suddenly, a chicken dish appeared and EXACTLY the dish we originally ordered. How did this happen? Did they go out and buy chicken to make our dish? We politely declined since we ordered plenty of other food, and it disappeared to the unknown. 20 minutes later, we regretted this as one of our dishes still didn't make it to our table. They told us it was still coming, so we waited another 10 minutes. It wasn't worth the wait. We might give this place another shot in the future. The live, fresh seafood selection is quite impressive. Geoduck Clam Sashimi was outstanding. Steamed oysters with black bean sauce were very meaty and tasty. For a classic Cantonese dish, we loved the Salt Pepper Pork Chops. The Alaskan King Crab and Australian Lobster in the fresh water tanks looked fabulous but alas were too big for our small party so we'll have to try next time. read more

This review is based on a weekend Dim Sum experience. Check my other review for my weekend dinner patronage at this place. This place is very busy from 11;00am to 2:00pm and if you must have a tranquil place to eat then this isn't the place for you. It's probably due the low reflective ceilings, but this place is quite loud that you might have to yell for the others to hear you. The assortment of Dim sum is ok, but most of the dishes are mediocre at best. There seems to be lack of flavor to what I'm used to. I'm not sure if the chef planned it that way. The shrimps in the cheong fun and har goes were mushy, not fresh. It tasted like a reheated dish or overcooked one. I really dislike how they try make it look like the dishes had a larger portion by cutting them in half. First time ever seen chicken feet served cut in half. Prices for Dim Sum here were one of the highest I've seen and for the quality/portion issue I wouldn't recommend this place. If want the convenience of more ample free parking and staying away from the main street congestion this might be the place for you, but not getting your money's worth in terms of food. read more

Would give it 0 stars if that was an option. Honestly the worst dim sum spot in queens. The greeter in the front doesn't even call your number to be seated, you had to check in with him. Service was not good, one of the waiters kept bringing the wrong thing to our table. The dim sum all felt over steamed, the har gow was falling apart - which it should not be; and was not properly seasoned. Also ordered the stir fry beef rice noodles (炒牛河) - overcooked noodles, very under seasoned, beef nowhere in sight. Why did the chrysanthemum tea not have chrysanthemum flavor either? It was basically hot water. The cart ladies also clearly could not handle the volume of customers, they marked my card twice for one item. Went on Sunday to try their dimsum and some of their noodle dishes. For the price of their noodle dish (almost $20) it should be better quality. The noodles was very lightly seasoned and beef was a rare sighting in the dish was also kind of soggy. I feel like I could probably get better one at any HK cafe in queens. I'm not sure if they make their dim sum in house but it felt like frozen food quality. Service was not the best either, it was hard to flag down a waiter. Won't be coming back :( read more

I've been ordering takes outs from many many Chinese restaurants, this is the only one that I encountered that does not come with rice with take outs.
