Finally some great food In this area! I found out about the restaurant through Facebook. Since it's near my house I wanted to give it a shot! This Peruvian chicken is the best. Only a few minutes away from the airport, if you're coming into town, this is a must visit. Place your order ahead of time and pick it up to go! That's what I did, and it was ready in less than 15 minutes. I got the cilantro chicken which comes with two sides; I chose the roasted vegetables and green rice. I also got a tres leches and chicha morada. The entree came with two traditional white and green sauces. When I got home, I chowed down and couldn't believe how delicious everything was. The white sauce added some creaminess to the chicken, and the green sauce was perfectly spiced. The vegetables were cooked well, and the rice was tasty too. Adding in the chicha morada and a decent tres leches, this made for a fantastic dinner! I even had some rice and veggies leftover for a snack the next day, and it tasted wonderfully with the green sauce. When I visited, it was a Sunday evening. It was packed, so clearly people know how good this spot is. I am already thinking about when I can visit next. Bottom line: If you want Peruvian chicken, come here! read more

Visiting from out of town and decided to try this place. Was not disappointed! The portion size was good for the price. I got the Camarones Al Grill with plantains and green beans. DELICIOUS!! Got a quarter chicken with dark meat, green cilantro rice, and fried plantains to quickly order something without looking at the rest of the menu. That meat was juicy and tender with crisp skin and they were very generous with the amount of sides. Also came with a creamy green sauce (complimented the meal perfectly) and a creamy mayonnaise-sauce. The inside isn't a trendy place to hang out for a Friday night meal with friends, but you will not regret eating here. So good, highly recommend! read more

Charcoal grilled to perfection. I had the 1/4 dark platter with fried rice and red potatoes. The chicken was amazing with a great smoky flavor you only get from a real fire over hot coals. The fried rice was excellent, better than expected and not at all oily. I tried the Chicha Morada, a drink made from purple corn and pineapple- it was different and worth trying. My dining companion had the marinated beef hearts on a skewer. The meat is tougher than muscle meat, but it was tasty-for those brave enough to try it. This is an order at the counter kind of place but they have plenty of seating and soccer on the TVs. read more

This place should be called Canasty! My boyfriends food I'm 100% sure was Alpo. My chicken was so hard it tasted like I was eating rocks, completely void of any flavor whatsoever. These people really need to be shut down. And I don't even want to know know filthy their kitchen probably is! Food: Whether is chicken, chaufa, lomo saltado, seco de res, or cebiche... you won't be disappointed. The dessert selection is small but good by the time you enjoy the food you may not have space for dessert. Service: If you chose to order at the counter or at the table setting. This is a restaurant where you can get fresh ingredients and food. The style of chicken is Peruvian. It tastes like regular baked chicken but is awesome. The sides are wonderful, I like the fried rice and potatoes. The potatoes are flavorful and tender. The prices are not bad, for a 1/4 chicken meal with 2 sides is $8.50, and that's for white meat. Located off Laburnum not too far from DMV, there is not a ton of parking but fair. Inside is clean, tables can be a little small as we sat in booths. They offer several different sides but I would like to see more green vegetables besides green beans, there are a lot of starchy sides. Nice little place to visit if your in the area. Now the food was great I order a Papa rellena and the Jalea, my wife had the fettuccine pasta a la huancaina with lomo saltado. Nice east end Henrico spot. Peruvian style chicken and sides. I had 1/4 chicken with plantains, red skinned potatoes and pinto beans. Everything was seasoned perfectly. They are similar to Chicken Fiesta but many may see this place more home style. Nice selection to choose from. I think Chicken Fiesta still has them by a slight edge but because the sides are WAY better it brings the two restaurants even in my book. Best plantains I ever had. They cook them like candies yams. Don't get side tracked by the location in a strip mall. The food is excellent. We were visiting the area and I like to try local food instead of chains. The reviews were pretty good so we finally ventured off. It is not fancy but neat and clean. My friend and I sat at a table and placed our order. I visited this place on a whim. I'd never heard of them until I went to pick a pizza from Chanellos. My initial thought was this place reminds me of Chicken Fiesta. But boy oh boy this place was sooooo much better. Their rice isn't dry like Chicken fiesta they have cilantro rice. I'm getting a little too excited. Let me start from the beginning. There were so many choices. I didn't know where to begin. So I settled with a half chicken with cilantro rice with roasted red potatoes. Also with two chicken empanadas. They let sample the rice and their fried plantains. The chicken is bursting with flavor! Definitely better than chicken fiesta. (sorry not sorry lol ). Their cilantro rice is very moist and flavorful. Their chicken empanadas are cooked to order so they were fresh as well. Their customer service was awesome. Their roasted chicken tastes great! A little pricey but worth it. I have been eating there since I discovered it here in VA. The side I've had were the string beans, which are decent and the fried rice, very good. The green sauce taste great on the chicken...make sure to ask for more sauce. read more
