    Carribean sample platter!!

Truly one of the best jamaican food options in Richmond and the surrounding areas! Their jamaican jerk chicken pitas are to die for!!! They also have an amazing sample platter with jerk chicken, curry chicken, stewed beef, rice, cabbage, and plantains! YUM!!!

Moses has been runnin' this town since 1983. Truck's been around for 11 years as of 9.28.2012.

Delish, but I'm slightly worried about health code standards. Only slightly. Meh--it's worth it. The guy was nice enough to let me have some ghost peppers. For some reason, they weren't that spicy.

The food is pretty good and super cheap! It is conveniently located at VCU's MCV Campus. The workers are very friendly and kind. The food is ready very quickly.

Large Sampler: curry, stew, jerk, and coconut chicken, rice & peas, cabbage, and platains

This food is very good and this mango-pineapple lemonade is to die for! That young lady is running this business solo. The long line ia there for a good reason. The food is very fresh and prices cannot be beat! I got the large sampler which includes: jerk, curry, coconut, and brown stew chicken, rice & peas, platains, cabbage, and a drink $9.00 This young lady is located at S. 10th & E. Cary St. Richmond, VA. The food truck is purple

Small combo is delicious as always!

Ask the Community - Caribbean Grill

I sometimes find them on Carry and 10th but it seems that they haven't been going there for some time now, anyone have any idea?

The owner no longer has anyone to run the second location at Cary & 10th. He's only available at 11th & Marshall.

Is this place still in business? I can never find them!

Yes. They are out there during lunch hours only it seems. From about 11-1pm maybe

It's a very popular restaurant, so today, when we entered, while we were greeted right away, there was a 30 minute wait. The time actually went by relatively fast, and by the time we were seated, large cups of ice water were already there at our table, as well as a carafe to refill them. There's no physical menus, instead you scan a QR code which brings you to their menu. They have lots of drink options, including several specialty cocktails, beers, and ciders. Our waiter was super sweet and attentive, and the food came out relatively quickly. For my drink, I ordered a local cider from a Virginia ciderie, as well as the It's A Wrap, which has cheddar, ranch, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and your choice of protein (I got tofu). I also got a side of the Mac and cheese, which I could tell was made in house. Super creamy and flavorful with a hint of spice. My wrap was also insanely good! I'm impressed by the amount of vegetarian options here. Any burger can be made both gluten free or vegan, and the choices of protein make it more accessible for everyone who comes in. I'm really happy we were recommended this place!

The food won't necessarily blow your socks off-- however it is consistently good, a lot of vegan/gluten free/etc options, lots of cocktail and beer options, and even the pickiest of eaters could find something they enjoy there. Our waiter this last time was outstanding. I noticed on their menu they also have specials including Thursdays where they do a hot chicken sandwich and beer for a cheaper price. They also have a solid happy hour.

The bar was getting full, but there were still a few tables left to choose from. This is a dive, similar to Poe's Pub, so if that's not your scene, don't come here. That said, we really like the character of this place, even if it smells a little funky upstairs. It adds to the character and charm, or at least, that's what we tell ourselves. The same bartender as usual (still don't know his name) helped us. They do have a sour beer. It's not as fruity as I like, though, still passable. (Seriously, Patrick Henry's, y'all need to order some from Texas and Oklahoma sours for the real deal; Martin House Brewing Co. in Ft Worth does them so right). Anyway, we ordered the goat cheese bread appetizer (warm apple butter, goat cheese, and sunflower seeds = immense pleasure). For entrees, I grabbed the Hot Chicken Pizza (hot sauce and pickles!), and my partner went for the chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. There was so much food that we had leftovers, as usual. They heated up well in the air fryer and were nearly as good. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE. I will admit, it does look slightly seedy, but the food here is magnificent. The pizza was thin, crispy, and full of delicious flavor. I swear, the chefs here know what they are doing with their menu. It's simple, yet elegant. The appetizers are simple, yet they easily compete with The Brooklyn and Pinky's apps, for example, which are more affordable and in a more relaxed environment. Do yourself a favor and get the goat cheese. It sings. The customers here are chill and interesting, and the bartender is calm and cool; he never seems out of sorts, even when the bar is full with a line out the door. I wholeheartedly recommend Patrick Henry's. We have been here twice now, and the service and food have been excellent both times (Sept 2025, May 2026).

To get in, you must know the password or tell the host a joke that makes him laugh. We were escorted in and quickly noticed that this was more than a speakeasy-it was a full restaurant. We stopped in for drinks, but it was nice to have tapas. I got the popcorn with the Tequilla lime butter, which was the perfect balance of salt. I had a mezcal drink which was perfect! I'm such a fan of mezcal and am excited when I see it on the menu. Our waitress was a delight-super attentive and also a bartender so she was able to answer all of our drink questions. It was very spacious with outdoor seating. Definitely a 10/10 experience. I would definitely go again!

He asked for the password and we, unprepared, had to tell him a joke or an interesting fact. Luckily, my partner had one on hand. The atmosphere was lovely, very reminiscent of a 1920s speakeasy, or at least what you'd imagine it to be like. Our server came by within a few minutes of us being seated. She lacked enthusiasm, unlike the host, unfortunately. Her service turned out to be lackluster as well. We ordered the chicken pot pie and the filet mignon with asparagus. For drinks, the Grape Gatsby and Maine root beer. The food, like our server, lacked appeal. The saving grace was the host and the atmosphere. The view was lovely and the intimacy of the setting was a welcome experience. For dessert we ordered the bread pudding, and it was tasty, though nothing special. The burned odor that we smelled prior to its arrival turned out to be the bread. I can recommend Grandstaff and Stein as an experience, but you should not expect much in the way of culinary delights or exemplary service. We probably won't be back, but if you've never been, it's worth trying at least once.

The potatoes are a no everyone agreed the potatoes are too seasoned had this unnecessary spice to them and lacks flavor at the same time - we were not fan, another table recommended we not get the potatoes or ask for them to be a more crispy to disguise the spice. Even took it home and crisped it more, long story short the potatoes are not going to be that lightly salted flavor you'd expect, just over seasoned. The sausage gravy tasted great. The biscuit is absolute perfection! (10 out of 10 for Biscuit and Chicken) (3 out of 10 for potatoes) (9 out of 10 for eggs) Unfortunately as far as the Red Velvet waffles they are most likely waffles with red food coloring - tasted nothing like red velvet. (4 out of 10 for the waffles) The French Toast was okay- the strawberry puree was delicious. (3 out of 10 for French toast) The music in here is a vibe loved the selection - kept my group grooving. Not sure if they are always packed but there was a festival going on outside. They squeezed 7 of us at a 6 top booth. It was tight but worked. Also this location is not very spacious keep that in mind. Our server started off pretty good until the end. She was very loud- louder than the music. No discretion- announced the details of a remaining balance of someone in our group , loudly. Left a sour taste in our mouth as this was not the most professional route to inform a guest of something of that nature. Then proceed to give an attitude upon being compensated .. The situation was however de-escalated. Maybe work on delivery of uncomfortable information.

We started with incredible oysters- I'm not a huge oyster person, but these really stood out, especially the seasonal mignonette. We ended up ordering another two because we liked them so much! Our favorite dish of the night was the Nashville hot shrimp- great heat level and flavor, they were perfectly crispy and paired so well with the house pickles and white BBQ sauce they were served with. We could've easily taken down another plate of these. They had a tomato hand pie special that we also really enjoyed, as well as the crab hush puppies. Noise level can be challenging so we try to go in the early side when possible. Went for our anniversary in during Richmond restaurant week in October (they gave us a complimentary glass of bubbly to celebrate) and again with the kids in December. They always have amazing cocktails. Their mixologist is on their game with so many choices! For our anniversary, we got Cloud Boat and Apartment in the City, and we loved them both. Both were completely as described, light and ez in the palate which is a skill for whiskey. For apps we got the PEI mussels and the smoked fish dip. Again both were delicious. I particularly love my fish dip - the groom focaccia was done beautifully in the dill was a nice compliment to the flavor. For entrées, we had the catfish sandwich and the Arctic char. The catfish sandwich was good, but nowhere near the quality of the Arctic char, which was savory and delicious and elevated by the brown butter and golden raisins. Since it was restaurant week the dessert was included in the price so we got the apple cranberry fry pie And the chocolate ganache bar. Both were a nice way to end the meal. Tasty but not mind blowing. With the kids we ordered Gnac attack, Proper Dose, American Love Call, and Bebot. Again they were all so good but for me the Proper Dose and Gnac attack were the best. For apps we got the fish dip and one of the specials and loved them both. Entrees were the Spanish mackerel, the arctic char and a special that was a gumbo and rice. We ate everything and had no room for dessert. Can't wait to go back.
