Husband and I were eager to try this place after it took over in Smoky Mug's old spot. Well...it did not disappoint!! Holy crap the food was GOOD. This was our first time trying Filipino food and all we want is more. The cashier was super helpful as I explained my preferences (not a fan of dark chicken or pork belly if it's super fatty). She helped me decide on the Pork Belly Sisig because the pork is chopped up finely and fried. I got it with the garlic rice and chefs kiss, it was DELICIOUS. So much better than I expected it to be. I got it medium spicy and next time know to go higher in spice level (she said medium is one fill thai chili pepper). My husband got the pancit bihon with chicken (noodle dish) and even though I don't typically like dark meat, I liked it just fine in this dish. The lumpia's were also great, I preferred them without the dipping sauce so you can really taste what it's stuffed with (we got the beef lumpia). We will definitely be back and can't wait to try more dishes. Oh and we arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday and the wait was probably 15ish min.

I enjoyed the food. Serving was big enough for two meals. It's carry out only. Place was somewhat busy with a $200 order just before me.

Ate the pancit with chicken today for swipes since my roommate has swipes. It was great! Exactly as I expected, not TOO salty and the perfect amount of savory. The pancit noodles and chicken absorbed the broth well! I'll definitely be coming back!

We love Auntie Ning's! Went this past weekend with my husband to the celebrate Filipino food month at Main Line brewery and Auntie Ning's was there the lumpia is some of my favorite in the city and the pork belly adobo is delicious and bursting with flavor. 10/10 every single time. Go check them out if you haven't!!!

Hey Cousin! How you creep into town without giving me a heads up. You know us cousins stick together, lol, so are you hooking me up with secret of the secret of the discretely secret recipe for lechón and lumpia? You better or I'm telling Tio, lol. Haha, just kidding (or am I?). Let me tell you, I am still licking my fingers from the finger-licking goodness that I devoured three days ago. You weren't lying when you suggested the sampler. That pork - made me squeal like a mama pig! That sampler had me weak, and the food was so delicious, filling, and plentiful that I could eat from that bowl for weeks (I eat like a bird, lol). We ordered two of those marvelous bowls, with one being a sampler, and the lumpia - oh my goodness, that footer lumpia had me wishing that there were more to go around. The food was just so delightful that I can't find suitable words to describe it. My only gripe would be the fact that we had a tough time finding the location, (it was a B@#$h) and I really wished I could have tried one of my favorite desserts. It was a bit disappointing. Could you please put up a sign that indicates that you're there, even if it is just for us cousins? If you do that, then consider yourself added back to the Christmas list haha! I really wish we had more time to sit down, eat, and catch up properly (cousinspeak) but we were in such a rush to devour our food that we almost didn't make it to the car. Whenever I hang out with the @we_hungryaf crew, I notice that I get extremely hungry and greedy! They describe and photograph food so deliciously, often even better than how it actually tastes to me (and trust me, I have a seasoned palate - they know it, that's why they're my foodie gang!). Anyway Go Check the cousins out at Auntie Nings you won't be disappointed! Like I always say, "Don't take it from me, Go for yourselves"!

The beef lumpia and the garlic rice are amazing! Everything else was also delicious but I couldn't get over how fantastic the garlic rice was, soft and crunchy fried with plenty of garlic flavor. Suuuper crunchy beef lumpia....yum.

I always wanted to try Filipino food and was excited to discover Auntie Ning's. I like to get the adobo. The chicken is so tender and juicy. It also comes with 2 lumpia and you can choose between beef or veggie. If you have the option, make sure to get the garlic fried rice! They keep their social media channels up to date with expected locations and you are able to preorder.

I've been missing Filipino food since my friend moved away a few years ago. So I was SO exciter when I found Auntie Nings! This food was delicious and very homey! This is not a gourmet meal -- but a 'did grandma make this?' meal. I pre-ordered online to pickup from the truck. This was great and quick. I got a text when my order was ready, which was about 15 minutes later. The lumpia was great. The rice yummy. And oh my the lechon was delish. Well seasoned, a little crispy. And OH the ube! It was sooo goodddd. I'll definitely be back!

Auntie Ning's was in the neighborhood so I finally had the opportunity to give it a try. We ordered the chicken adobo, lechon kawali and their ube brownies. The entrees came with your choice of white rice or garlic rice (we chose the garlic rice) and 2 of your choice of beef or veggie lumpias (your choice of beef or veggie). The veggie lumpias were amazing - probably one of the best I've ever had. The garlic rice needs work as it was a bit mushy and did not have any garlic flavor, or any flavor for that matter (Jollybee's garlic rice tastes so much better!) The lechon was burnt which threw the texture and flavor off a little. The chicken adobo was good but there wasn't anything extraordinary about it. The ube brownies was a bit too sweet but it was delicious and I wanted more after I was done with it! Overall, I would definitely be back for their lumpias and ube brownies, and will try other items as well.

I love going to Auntie Ning's when they are at the Sunday South of the James market. Their breakfast bowls, meat & veggie lumpia, and pancit are all fresh and tasty. Pro Tip: Order your food at Auntie Ning's and browse the market while you wait for it.

Very disappointing food. Chicken adobo looked like the chicken was simply boiled and hardly anything like it was supposed to

Papa Ningo - Chicken chipotle quesadilla

Papa Ningo

This is a great, cheap, fast food truck located on the MCV Campus of VCU. I ordered a chipotle…read morechicken quesadilla and it came with two sides for $6! I had the rice and plantains, and they were delicious. The workers are super kind and even though the line was long, the food was prepared very quickly. The only negative comment I have is that I like my quesadillas to have a nice crunch on the outside, which this one did not (partly probably because of how quickly they have to move through the line). However, service is great and the food is great! There are many other food trucks right around this one, but this is definitely one of the best!

I'm not sure why Papa Mingo is listed under "Indian" because it's Mexican cart. Nevertheless, it is…read morethe BEST Mexican cart on the MCV campus. My go to is always the chipotle chicken quesadilla with rice and plantains. Unlike the other Mexican cart on campus, not sure the name but it's painted orange, Papa Mingo is very very generous with their protein. My quesadilla was oozing out cheese and chicken...just how I like it! I also tried the steak burrito previously and without fail, every bite had an equal proportion of steak, rice, salsa and hot sauce. Perfection. If you order an entree, you get all of the sides available. With a quesadilla you get 2 sides and no sides with the burrito. My favorite side is the plantains. It's not overly sweet and love the texture. I tend to get too excited with the hot sauce. I pour it on everything. The owners, who are hilarious by the way, warn me every time but of course I never learn. The heat is not unbearable for those who like spice but beware, it's a building heat. Next food truck friday, go try it out!
