Recently opened inside the new vasen in forest hill. I've been dying to check it out ever since the food truck stopped operation. The atmosphere was cute and very lively on a Wednesday night! The service is a little tricky, you have to order at the bar. Would prefer if they had their own window for ordering! Nonetheless the food was great-- we tried one of everything. The bao buns were by far our favorite and next time I'll probably just stick with those. Everything is $16 dollars... for the chicken basket it's worth it because it's a TON of chicken, but prices felt a little high for some of the other options. Overall very happy to see them back open and will for sure return in the future. read more

I came here on a Friday evening and ordered the Munch Box ($25) it came with 2 korean birria taco, 4 dumplings, fries, and banana pudding. Food took about 40 minutes to come out, but once it did it was soooooo amazing!! The Korean birria taco with the consommé were made for each other! The savory meat, cheese, and sweet and salty broth mixed so well together. The fries were good and dipped well with the consommé. The munch box is a good amount of food to split between two people, and is needed if you get a buzz from Buskey cider. My only critique was the very long wait time (40 minutes) for the food to come out which was due in part that only two or three people were in the truck. Overall some amazing food here!! Ok. Where has this been my whole life?! I saw an Instagram foodie post about this and had to get in on the story. Holy Shitz...you need to try! The location may be tricky for those who aren't familiar with the city. It's in the city behind Busky Cider. (Awesome ciders to check out and drink while you wait for your food - and drink with your food obviously.) As a big foodie, I scoped out ahead of time and saw that you can order online - but it does not open until 5 pm. I may have ordered on my way there, fortunately, there was common traffic so I was able to do it. I already decided on their signature platter (with a beef and pork bao bun) and their munch box. NO REGRETS AT ALL. I wanted to get a taste of everything and for my husband to enjoy and have options. The presentation is there! The pictures say it all. It's GORGEOUS and smells/tastes exactly what you are seeing (I honestly think better)! The Signature Platter obtains Korean Birria tacos (3) / Bao buns (2) - Bulgogi Beef / Gochujang Pork/Tofu) / Sticky Chicken Bites (Korean BBQ) / Nashville fries. The Muchbox has Korean Quesa-Birria Tacos (2) / K-BBQ Dumplings (4) / Nashville Fries / Choice of drink / Banana Pudding by AllDisPuddin) - we opted out of the dessert because my hubby had already made me dessert. First of all...their Korean Birria tacos...A FREAKING MUST GET!! Their sauce that comes with it - THAT is freaking flavor. Out of the bao buns, my husband and I enjoyed their Gochujang Pork - the flavor was just kicking and delivered. This food is fantastic! I brought out a few friends from around the city for a hang and got to enjoy some of the best fusion food around. Would give this a 4.5 stars if I could! The highlights were the bulgogi bao and the loaded nashville fries. The bao had just enough meat and sauce so that everything wasn't spilling out when you were eating it but was still filled and proportionate to how much bao there was. The fries were amazing! The bulgogi with pickled onions and banana chilis were so well balanced, with the onions and chilis balanced out the fries and meat. The 3rd best item was the birria tacos. Although they were good, they weren't anything special. Decent enough to give it an 8/10. Lots of meat which was very tender! Next we had the sticky KBBQ dumplings, which weren't too bad. They were sweet from the kbbq sauce and were crispy. 7.7/10 In last place for us was the KFC. It was a little dry, but the flavor was good - 7/10. Also their spicy mayo was delicious Service was quick and friendly, and although the seating area was cute, we got A LOT of massive bug bites. KOBOP is serving up delicious Korean BBQ fusion that just makes sense and that hits! That's their slogan! KOBOP located behind Buskey Cider's patio in Scott's Addition. You order at the truck or online to pick up. They are also on DoorDash if you prefer delivery, depending on where you're located of course. Everything on the menu looked good so I got the Signature Platter so I could try a little bit of everything! The platter consisted of 3 Korean Birria tacos, 2 Bao buns - 1 Bulgogi Beef 1 Gochujang Pork and you can get tofu as well, Sticky Chicken Bites and Nashville fries. The Birria tacos go so hard y'all! It all looked good and I couldn't decide so I just decided to go with the platter. For $35 it was more than enough food. The bao buns were my favorite. The fries gave me Taco Bell fries but a lot more flavor. The birria tacos were sweet and delicious and the sticky chicken was iiiiight. I'm definitely hitting it again. The smell of the food coming from the food truck took me back to Kunsan, AB, South Korea. The flavors of the beef have a very in-depth flavor profile. The first bite gives all sorts of Umai vibes, along with the consommé, which is a perfect pairing of sweet and savory with a little bit of salt. The fries are seasoned to perfection; there is not part of the fries that is not kissed in seasoning. The fries have a double-fry taste and are not oily or greasy at all. The pork dumplings have a sweet soy/seasmon seed sauce covering them perfectly. I will be coming back to the location to try the other items I did not have. 10/10 read more

My husband and I came through for a museum exhibit and decided to stop and have a bite since this was so highly rated. You need to order online and pickup because there is no POS at the location, however, this wasn't an issue since their website functions really well. We ordered through the QR code and it took less than 10 minutes. This was some of the best food I have had in Richmond, but absolutely the best food truck I've ever visited. I highly recommend the signature platter- fantastic. read more

I wanted to try the signature platter after seeing several instagram reviews. The food looks very good and seemed reasonably priced for the amount of food you receive. I will provide the disclaimer that I only eat chicken and seafood so I did not try the birria tacos, pork dumplings, or beef bao bun. I split this with someone who does who LOVED all those items. The highlight for me was the tofu bao bun. Tons of flavor and texture it was awesome, should've gotten two. I preferred the sauce on the bang bang chicken over the Korean bbq chicken bites. I'm extremely disappointed to share I did not get to try the Nashville fries. I placed an order at 6 pm to pick up within about 10-15 min. As I arrived they were closing and announced they'd sold out. The Nashville fries were gone before my order was done and were replaced by pork dumplings which I don't personally eat. I would go earlier and get a smaller meal rather than the platter to reduce the likelihood of this happening again. read more

I usually don't eat from food trucks because I can never find one I like, but Kobop was a very good find. I have been wanting Korean Bbq for a while, so after our walk through Carytown ( I will review later ) we went on the search to find this food truck. The food was amazing. The service was spot on even though I forgot the water I paid for. Can't really say much about ambiance because it was picnic tables outside and it was a little cool to,sit outside and eat. I really do recommend this food truck if you're looking for a very delightful meal. We got the Signature Platter $35. With that you get 3 Korean birria tacos, 2 bao buns ( your choice of bulgogi beef, gochujang pork, or tofu ), sticky chicken bites ( Korean bbq), and Nashville fried. We got bulgogi loaded fries. After a long drive, we made it too late for food. They were all sold out. They did have enough to make some loaded fries (thank you for doing that for us). These fries were awesome!!! Best Korean food in RVA! I've been wanting some good Korean food forever and was so excited when this place opened. We got the original platter to try a bit of everything, and the bao buns were my favorite. They were absolutely delicious, light and fluffy. Everything in the platter was delicious, and the perfect spice level. I often find it a challenge to find Korean food that isn't too spicy, but still has the flavor and they definitely nailed it. This place is amazing! I had a beef and a pork taco. The beef taco was great and the pork taco was out of this world. Do yourself a favor and eat at this place immediately. As my bonus son said when we took him on his return from the Army. This is the best food he has eaten in this area. So scrumptious, anything you try is absolutely melt in your mouth delish. The service is friendly and fairly fast. Do not sleep on Kobop, this is a party for your senses. read more

The best food truck I've ever been to. I made the drive (about 35 minutes) which I don't usually do just for a meal. I am so happy I did, and I will be returning soon. I got the signature platter, which was SO much food for the price. The atmosphere is laid back (located behind a cidery) and fun for a night out. The owner is so nice, and his staff seemed extremely hardworking. I would give this 10 stars if I could!!! read more

The chorizo and steak were well-cooked, seasoned, and chopped finely, but not ground. I was in heaven with that chimichanga. We had to take home leftovers. The next night, heated in the oven at 325 for 30 minutes, they were similarly excellent. The night ended without dessert, sadly (too full). Our visit didn't disappoint as we received good service from our waitress and the food was excellent. There was a variety of patrons dining in and a few came in to pickup takeout orders. They had bar seating, high tables and low tables which is probably most fitting for a couple's date. First came the chips and salsa which were fresh and tasty. The first bite into the taco was full of flavor. The steak was tender and juicy and the corn tortilla was fresh and had a slight crunch. The brisket quesadilla was my favorite. It hit my exact craving. We boxed 1 slice of the quesadilla and the remaining chips and salsa to later and finished them that later that night. I'd definitely return to this place.

The pineapple was grilled, pork seasoned to perfection and the sauces just sent it over the top. This was my first time in since they started serving margaritas, which were really good and on happy hour. Doesn't get better than that! Service is always quick and friendly.

If you go on Wednesday (any time), tacos are $1.99. They are opened from 10am-9pm. They had 8 options to choose from. We picked the chorizo, carne asada, carnitas, and chicharrón en salsa verde. These little, double-layered tacos packed a lot of flavor. Everything was delicious, but we agreed that our favorite was the carnitas (fried pork). It had a crunch to it that was perfect. All of the tacos were topped with cilantro and diced raw onions, but you can opt to not have it. They also had a sauce bar with different sauce options from the wimpy tomatillo sauce to the hottest. The server was friendly and nice. They also offered a good variety of menu items including desserts. I asked the waitress about their tacos on other days and she said they are $3.49 each and slightly bigger. Finding a cheap meal is hard these days. We will definitely be back.

She was so kind and was like don't worry I got it. I was cleaning some of the sauce on the floor and she just was like no I got it. Also, I had a toddler that was having a total meltdown. The lady was trying to help me with that! There was a language barrier, but she was just trying to know his age and tried to smile at him. It was also the evening time so, it was busy, but she was just so calm and helpful. I didn't get a name, but you are amazing and hope you are doing well! Tacos were the best I had since my trip to the Bay in '19. Al pastor was perfect. My husband said the chicken quesadilla is the best he's ever had in his life. All the food was what we wanted and it hit that taco craving. Like everyone has said, it's as good as west coast tacos.
