The tarragon chicken salad is delicious, and I LOVE the small block of cheese. The fresh pickles are a good compliment to the chicken salad, and that's normally my go to lunch meal. Meals come with a side of bread and everything on the menu being in the $7-10 range is incredibly reasonable for downtown Richmond. There's always a line, but service is fast and friendly. I'm so in love with it for some reason, although my first experience was the best. The pita isn't great and falls apart but you can use a fork. It comes with several tasty falafel pieces, lettuce, tomatoes, onions (very fresh). The tzatziki sauce is on the side and so is some red pepper hummus. I like to dip the broken off pieces of pita into the hummus and I've seen people buy extra pieces of pita. I have also tried the chicken gyro which I wasn't as crazy about but still good. Average price for the carts, $5-6 dollars. All the entrees seem pretty popular and the special side salad is also usually popular.

I'm not going to slam Cafe' Tarra (much) because this is the only time I've tried them, but I hope the rest of their food isn't as bland as the falafel gyro plate. Cold pita; falafel that's lack of flavor was only outdone by its overcooked-ness (is that a word?); completely bland hummus and tzatziki( if that's what those were "supposed" to be). I was wondering why at noon on a work day that there were lines at almost all the other food carts except Cafe' Tarra.....I think I now know . This kind of food is what makes people not like or want to try vegetarian food. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day.

The brick and mortar also houses RVA Street Foodies around the back, but once you step inside, there are two frozen dessert carts holding the different flavors. We tried the Mango Pina Colada with a strawberry drizzle, and Tie Dye (which is a swirl of lemon, lemon-lime, and blue raspberry). Both were of super generous amount that comes in a cup. I really liked the strawberry drizzle, as it seemed to be made with real strawberry puree; the Mango Pina Colada tasted much better than the Tie Dye, as the Tie Dye seemed to be more lemon-centric. I also thought it would have been more icy, but it was super smooth and sort of overly 'soft,' if that makes any sense! Staff were friendly, and there are about two small 2-seater benches to wait for your dessert and some tables in the back; otherwise, the place seems to be more of a to-go/carry-out place. I'm glad I was able to check this place out. +get the strawberry drizzle +friendly staff +limited seating
