We were surprised by the size of the restaurant when we walked in. It seems smaller from the outside; not that it was huge, just deceiving. It reminded me of a homey Jason's Deli (IYKYK). The woman at the counter was helpful and kind. We had a few questions about some items on the menu, and she asked the kitchen staff anything that she didn't know offhand. We decided on the fried cauliflower for an appetizer; it was monstrously huge, and much more flavorful than I expected. The spices and textures on the plate added a lot to the dish's overall essence. I ordered the Rachel for an entree, and my partner ordered the Sharona. I subbed the chips for a side salad. The salad was tangy or tart, almost bitter. I didn't mind; I thought it was quite good. It is a lot of acidity if you are not expecting it. The Rachel was fantastic, except that the coleslaw had some onion bits mixed in. We are not onion fans in this household. Ha The Sharona would have been a better choice, as I much prefer pickles to oniony coleslaw. My partner said she really liked hers. We had half a sandwich each for leftovers the next day, and shared the leftover chips, since I finished off my salad the night before. The sandwiches heated up exquisitely in the oven at 325°F for 15 minutes. I felt that Susie's is a definite hidden gem, and I can recommend it to anyone who likes a well-made sandwich. I will be back to sample more of the menu and report back my findings at a future date.

No signage, not detailed on the menu, just an ambush once you've placed your order. It's a bs fee to begin with, but concealing it until the last minute is unethical. I'm guessing it will catch up with y'all as these sorts of sketchy business practices often do.

It was a weekday after work. I went to my homegirl's house because I missed her birthday I offered to take her out someplace nice. She said no way man and immediately said we were going to this sandwich shop. This was the only thing she wanted. So we were gonna veg out on her couch. Have a couple cocktails and whatever else and watch something on TV. And her new couch is the bees knees. For me, the sandwich was perfect. The bread was beautiful and crusty. I was afraid it was going to be toasted and too crusty, and I'd be fighting to bite it and my sandwich guts spilling out while cutting up my gums and the roof of my mouth like it's Captain crunch or something.. BUT NO! It was PERFECT to bite through. They load you up with the meat they're not stingy. And the sauces... BABY! The aïoli was fantastic. My only beef is that horseradish aioli needed a little bit more of a kick, but that's a personal problem. My friend got the chicken Caesar and I see why it's popular. It is so garlicky and delicious. I already have plans on what I'm gonna get next time I go and I don't live close so it's gonna take a special trip and I intend to make it.

It's a small little place so eating in isn't really the vibe especially not with a group. I have a few gripes, not related to the taste of the food. 1. You aren't able to remove things when you order online (I hate arugula). 2. They don't have fries 3. They have utz chips

I am soooo sad I missed years of delicious gluten free food! Gluten free sandwiches are prepared with GF bread using a separate toaster and appropriate safety procedures if you tell them it's an allergy or restriction. They also bring in GF pie and cake daily from a local bakery. Their food portions are generous while also being reasonably priced. They also offer the option of taking your meal in a borrowed picnic basket so you can have a picnic in the park across the street on nice days.

Grabbing a sandwich here for a relaxing picnic at the park in-front is one of my favorite things to do :) --------------------------------- Food: various warm and cold sandwiches, the haberdasher is my go-to - it's a smoked salmon sandwich with benedictine spread/tomatoes, the bread to smoked salmon ratio is so good, and it comes with a side (I like the coleslaw or salad); we've also tried the big daddy which is quite a big sandwich (can be 2 meals) Recommendations: they have a $35 date night special Affordability: less than $20/meal which is great in this economy Ambiance: charming corner cafe that transports you back in time Service: good, they do get very busy and often run out of picnic baskets Good for: casual lunch, local eats

First...bread soft but "sturdy" enough to handle the other half being wrapped up and eaten the next day! It's a lot of food! What made it "different" is that it was easy to eat since all chopped up (all like size pieces) in a cheesy goodness. Wedge salad and Side salad option-MUCH better than expected for a "hole in the wall" kinda place but big serving with fresh ingredients (radishes, sliced and chunks, with pea pods and a lemony vinaigrette was super tasty. Will come back here again!

The servers were also tending the bar which was getting decent traffic even at lunchtime. My dining partner says there is a pool table in a back room, and that could be fun to fold into a longer visit. The piped in music was light jazz. The menu is oriented around philly cheesesteaks and variations. I ordered the chicken philly, which was large enough to make two lunches (I brought half home.) The flavor was decent, with seasoned or marinated chicken chunks and veggies & cheese on a sturdy roll. It came with a decent serving of chips. We were served a juice glass of room temp water on arrival and no drink order was taken. Negatives were related to pacing. It took a lot of time for the food to come out. We were pushed to eat even half of our sandwiches within the hour my dining partner had for lunch. The server did not check back after dropping the plates, which could have been an issue if we needed more water. And getting the check was a challenge that took way too long considering how small the place is. This is a decent place to grab a sandwich or a drink if you have the time or live in the neighborhood.

I got the soprano on seeded roll with banana peppers and omg I was screaming sitting my car eating it bc it was SO GOOD. They have a pretty extensive menu, and I will definitely be going back to explore more of it. Additionally, they had lots of other items like packed to go meals and sauces, pastas, beverages, and other cute gifty items for pet lovers. It appears to be multiple small businesses located in this space. The staff was super welcoming and helpful. There is a small dining area inside with 4(?) seats. Looks to be a popular take out spot. You can order ahead of time, but I ordered in person. They told me it'd be 15 mins so ran to the store, came back and it was ready. The sandwich was phenomenal. Everything was fresh and flavorful. And they give you a lot, enough for 2 meals for me. Can't wait to go back!

They're tucked inside the Market on Meadow store, which I thought was new, but they've actually been there for about three years. The owner recently bought the building and plans to rebrand since they're now the only vendor there. Even better, they're opening a second location at Harrison and Grace St. soon! I ordered the Soprano sub, and it was absolutely incredible. It comes loaded with hot soppressata, capicola, ham, sharp provolone, arugula, olive salad, red onion, vinaigrette, and mayo on fresh bread. I added sweet peppers and banana peppers for a little extra punch, and it was a great choice. The flavors were perfectly balanced--the salty meats paired beautifully with the tangy olive salad and sharp provolone, while the vinaigrette and mayo brought everything together. The bread was amazing--crusty on the outside, soft on the inside--and it turns out they get it from New York City! The owner is such a nice guy, and we ended up chatting for a while about his bread sourcing and plans for the business. You can tell he's passionate about what he does, and it really comes through in the food. Polpetti is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it gets. Whether you're a sandwich aficionado or just looking for a great meal, this spot is worth the visit. I can't wait to come back and try more--and to check out their new location when it opens!
