    Delicious steak!
    Natasha H.

This place was in the Barceloneta area and was also recommended by Spain revealed James and Yoly. Although the prices were pretty high compared with all the other places we went- the food backed it up and the service and the vibe of the place. We got croquetas again- delish! We ordered the Paella Marina (it was supposed to be for 2) but it was big enough for us 4 to dig in and it was amazing. The flavor was so unique and the rice cooked a bit aldente. The steak was to die for. They served it on the rare side but the black stone plate was extremely hot and continued to cook the steak. I got it with a cheese sauce and WOW!! The combination was perfect. I only wished I had more and more vegetables lol. The staff were excellent, so friendly and helpful. Really recommend this place!

Wanted something less touristy and found this gem of a place in a great walkable neighborhood. So cool looking with a definite local feel. Seating outside, bar area and in the back. Doesn't papear to be as big as it is. Best spritz since I've been here, mussels were plentiful with an outrageous red sauce. Why no bread to dip, I don't know. So just spooned it to the last drop. The grilled anchoivies were delicious too. Loved it.

So good my 14 year old son wanted to go back for our final meal of our vacation. My wife came accross based on a recommendation for great fideua. We lucked out when we walked up and were immediately seated because shortly after the place was packed. There is alot of outdoor seating as well as indoors. We were able to enjoy both (due to two different visits) and I can say both were amazing. Inside offers a more traditional old country feel while outdoors offers the fresh air with a cool spot in a courtyard with people walking by. We started with Vermut and pan con tamate and Can Romanet bomb (one of the best bomba's we had while in Barcelona) and then it was off to the fideua. MMMMMMM, it was amazing. They will only allow you to purchase the dish for two people. There are no single orders. This was frustrating at first but had it not been this way we would have never shared this dish and would have missed out. Finally it was dessert time. We ended the night with a cookie/ biscotti type of dish with a cognac (I think). You might not notice it if sitting outdoors but they have their own wines in barrels behind the bar inside. I tried a few and liked them but I do not remember seeing them on the menu.

    Paella Marinera

Had a reservation here, and will admit it was hard to get acknowledged here. Had to flag a few people to try to get seated. This place was busy with everyone running around. We eventually got seated and put our order in for Patatas bravas, and a Paella Marinera. I also ordered an Estrella Damn beer. I've had Estrella Damn before, but never in Barcelona. So when in Rome(Barcelona), I knew I had to get one. The Patatas bravas were, but out of the three that I had in Barcelona, these had the worst presentation. Zero creativity. I know they're just potatoes, but you gotta at least make them look appetizing. They were tasty though. Since this restaurant is located in the Barceloneta neighborhood of Barcelona, I knew I had to try their Paella Marinera. The Paella was delicious and full of labor. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the seafood tasted very fresh. I would definitely consider myself returning here next time I'm in Barcelona.

Near Barceloneta beach, our server Jaime was extremely helpful choosing the tapas. All the foods were YUMMMY !!Very nice and friendly staff. The restaurant looked very traditional and intimate.

    Very rude waiter. Avoid him

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. We ordered 2 paellas and food was very salty and inedible. There wasn't a lot of seafood and the clams were tough, dry, and overcooked. We had to leave most of it behind. The waiter was extremely rude to us. His microaggression started the moment we said we didn't want a drink. At the end, my husband asked him a question about the bill and he snatched the receipt from my husband's hand and walked away. We felt very unwelcome the whole time we were there. Before we left we even said "gracias" to him and he completely ignored us. I've included a picture of the waiter below. Would not recommend to any fellow travelers. This place fits every definition of a tourist trap, overpriced mediocre food with hostile service. Save your money and go somewhere else where they actually appreciate your business. Don't let this place ruin your vacation. Date of visit: November 2024

    Porron wine pitcher

Can Ramonet is a place where you can drink wine from a spout. La Barceloneta is a neighborhood with a sandy beach and plenty of restaurants and nightlife along the boardwalk. In the 1600s, this neighborhood was still underwater until the levee was built. Paella Marinera: The paella pan is large, and you have to commit to a couple things. First, it will take about 45 minutes. Second, you have to commit to a pan for two people. Let me tell you. It is absolutely worth it. This has the best paella around. The rice is thoroughly infused with tasty seafood flavor. The clams, mussels, shrimp, and langoustines are all so fresh, sweet, and tender. Chipirones: The fried small squids are crispy and delicious. This dish is done well here. Pa amb tomàquet: The toast rubbed with tomatoes wasn't great. The toast was burned too much and the bread was too hard. I'm no wine expert, but the wine in the porron wine pitcher wasn't that great here. Also, it takes too long to pour the wine into your glass through the tiny spout and I was too chicken to drink directly from the line from the spout. Come here for the paella definitely. Get a good wine for the porron and perhaps try the bomba, which is the local tapas for this neighborhood.

Their razor clams and potato octopus was delicious. We tried their noodle seafood fideua. It looked very large at first but with a party of 3 and the only guy in the group we were surprisingly able to finish it. I thought the fideua was pretty good but not a dish I would need to try again. I would come back to try their seafood paella

On a few days in Barcelona before a cruise my friend and I stopped in Barcelona for three days to explore before embarking. I carefully planned meals and experiences based on our time and this place got the bill of classic, cozy and classic espana. Made a reservation and explored the menu extensively. We are earlier in the day we stuck with Paella and Sangria. The staff was amazing and our waiter was adorable and fun! He was funny helpful and super chill! He served us helpings of our paella and didn't feel the need to check on us every 2 minutes. When i come back I will be back

    Razor clams. Delicious.

Nice neighborhood. Food is ok. We ordered seafood paella. The rice was not fully cooked. Seafood was minimum. We also got razor clams. I really like the razor clams. Very simple n delicious. We also got tripe with chickpeas. I am Chinese. But my mom cooks it better than their dish. Tripe was barely there, mostly fat and chickpeas. Sangria is water-down, but generous big glass. Service is cold. Pricy dishes. I thought it was not customary to pay for tips. The waiter had no shame and straight up asked for 10% tip. It is very weird to ask for the tip. No shame. I didnt bother to take a pic of tripe because i would not call it "tripe with chickpeas." Better to name it "fat with chickpeas."

Thanks to Marino, we ordered amazing paella. The noodle paella was my favorite. There was a fried potatoes with garlic aioli that was so good! Service was excellent! We had a party of 7 and Marino sat us right right away but we were eating earlier (5:30 p.m.) than the locals.

We tried three of their Paellas! We were a big group and the dishes filled our tummies. We ordered the Noodles paella Fiduea, the Can Ramonet paella and the Seafood paella. All were delicious but the Fiduea was my favorite! Since we dined a bit early for dinner, service was very attentive. Our waiter was friendly and made some delicious suggestions. We enjoyed our evening here. It was great to share the dishes with our big group!

This place was lovely! Food did take some time but was worth the wait. To start, we ordered Pulpo a la gallega con patatas (grilled octopus with potatoes) and Croquetas de jamón Ibérico (croquettes) and it was soo good. We then ordered the Paella Can Ramonet, which was a super flavorful mix of meat and seafood and was verrry filling. Our server was so sweet and funny, singing every time he was bringing a dish to us! Loved his enthusiasm and willingness to help us when we had any questions. Desserts are absolutely divine by the way.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

Taverna El Glop wraps you up in its warm, lively atmosphere the second you walk in. We were a group of four, and from start to finish, we had an awesome time. The open kitchen is a great touch -- you can watch the chef in action, which adds to the energy and makes the whole experience feel more connected and authentic. We shared a bunch of dishes, and everything was on point. The paella was rich and delicious -- exactly what we came for. The patatas bravas were crispy, creamy, and gone in seconds, and the shishito peppers were the perfect salty, snacky starter. Of course, we had to get a pitcher of sangria (okay, maybe two), which was fruity, refreshing, and just strong enough to keep things festive. The space itself has this great, rustic charm -- complete with checkered tablecloths and even an old cigarette machine near the bar (haven't seen one of those since I was a kid -- aren't those banned in the U.S. now?). I don't smoke -- smoking sucks -- but it added a bit of unexpected nostalgia and character. Service was excellent. I always make a point to be friendly, ask people their names, and introduce myself -- and that's usually met with warmth. It definitely was here. The staff were quick, kind, and seemed to enjoy the place as much as we did. Personally, I loved it. It's the kind of place you remember -- not because it's fancy or trendy, but because it's fun, flavorful, and full of heart. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
