GO HERE NOW. And LATER! Yes, that's what happened to us. We went once, so damn good, we made it twice. The place is a local gem, that takes tapas and puts an imaginative and tasty spin on all the dishes. The chicken croquettes were some of the best tasting I've ever had. They were like the most chicken pot pie in a bite. Loved! The paella was slamming. The grilled squid was tenderAF. So many fantastic dishes! You need to go, let the locals guide you through the menu as you sip back a fabulous bottle of rioja. A perfect night is in store!

Whoa, not the typical tapas you have anywhere else, I guess it's a little on the innovative side. Was a but skeptical about it but what we had was truly delicious. We were lucky to get seated without reservation, 30 min later the restaurant was full at 11pm. Pig Trotter & Eel - the Trotter was crispy and soft in a not "too fatty" texture. Eel just tasted so fresh. Squid Ink Paella, perfect size, not like tourist area asking you to order two (stupid) simple but flavorful. We had Cava and red by the glass recommended by the waitress and loved both! So lucky my random found found this hidden treasure away from the centre.

Truly incredible. We were lucky enough to snag a seat at the bar for lunch as the place was fully reserved for the day. Service was so friendly and happy to assist us with picking the perfect items. It's easy to taste that the chefs really care about the flavors of their food. Each and every dish was fantastic. If I had to pick a few to recommend they would be the fish carpaccio with fresh guac, the oxtail cannelloni, and the scallops. The carpaccio was bursting with freshness, the cannelloni was a bold flavor experience, and the scallops were cooked to perfection. Really, every item we ordered was a foodie's dream. We are so happy to have stumbled upon this place and highly recommend for an amazing tapas experience in Barcelona.

A special place for my 200th review!!! This cute and excellent restaurant was walking distance from our AirBnb in Gracia, and was found via recommendation from our Gracia tour guide from our eating tour earlier. We went here for dinner at the beginning of our week in Barcelona, and it was so good, and service so excellent, and prices so reasonable, we returned for our last dinner in the city before leaving. Each and every course, and every wine pairing, was excellent. There is also a bottle shop with reasonable bottles of a wine that you may have had with dinner and may want to take home. Every item was expertly prepared and perfectly seasoned. The standout for the first meal was a perfectly charred octopus tentacle. I usually shy away from tentacles because they tend to be rubbery, but this was so tender and beautifully charred that I wished there was more! We also had a dish that was gnocchi, morels (never had before), and a perfectly poached egg. Heavenly!! The braised lamb that followed was also done to perfection, along with carefully executed accompaniments. For dessert, we had little bites of melted chocolate rolled in toast and topped with very funky and interesting olive oil beads! They popped in your mouth and were quite a taste and texture sensation along with the chocolate. Innovative! For our second meal there, we ordered off the menu instead of getting the tasting menu. We ordered with abandon, knowing everything would be spectacular and also affordable. We began with the shrimp special, incredibly fresh but something I'm not good at disassembling. We moved on to a deliciously done vegetable side, mixed veggies that somehow were each perfectly cooked and prepared and seasoned. Oddly, a pretty magnificent feat for most restaurants! We then had grouper with calcots and romesco sauce, like a gourmet version of the seasonal calcots so traditional to Catalonia. Lastly, we had a bunch of the desserts listed for the day, along with perfectly done espresso to finish a lovely meal and then waddle back to our place. It was truly a memorable feast!

Fried sea anemones, I didn't know you could eat anemones but apparently you can and they are yummy.

Delicious last dinner in Barcelona. Would definitely go back next time I'm in Spain. Every dish not only looked beautiful, but was amazingly tasty as well. And though it seemed the portions might lean towards the small side, the food was so rich and tasty my family left satisfied and full (also we ordered maybe one too many dishes, but there was such a great selection we wanted to try as much as we could). The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food came out one by one, well paced--enough to enjoy the present plate without wondering when the next dish would come out. There is a prefix menu, but we opted to choose our own dishes. I highly recommend eating here, especially if you are in visiting Park Guell the same day. I came right when the restaurant opened and got a table right away without a reservation, but if you come later in the evening I suggest making a reservation. Very inviting interior, definitely a place to leisurely enjoy a meal. Would have gotten dessert as well, but sadly we were a bit pressed for time.

Let me start off by saying Thank You Yelp and Yelpers!!! I came to this place because of Yelpers and it did not disappoint! We didnt have reservations, we came in the afternoon, I imagine at night it's even busier and they were pretty busy, full at one point!. I tried to make reservations online but they dont have that feature you have to call...I couldn't. Okay the food, there was nothing nothing bad on the menu! I kept on waiting for something to taste not good but that wasnt the case. Some may view it as pricey others might think it's ok. So we had tomato bread, it is delicious, this is a must try. We had the tartare de tomate with small toast, it had tomatoes, avocado, cucumber and other great things, yes great as well. We had the mussels with fries in a delicious sauce. We had the garbanzo- Gaxpasto soup which was good, cold soup. Cannoli, there was some pasta with oxtail, so tender and delicious! We had croquettes, they had chicken filling inside and they come 2 per serving. I had a beer with like lemon juice, it was good. Then came the brownie with ice cream and white chocolate! Do yourself a favor when in Barcelona, go try it, you wont regret it! It was like 64 euros for all and a soda. We walked so I'm not sure about parking situation. Enjoy the pics!

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

Taverna El Glop wraps you up in its warm, lively atmosphere the second you walk in. We were a group of four, and from start to finish, we had an awesome time. The open kitchen is a great touch -- you can watch the chef in action, which adds to the energy and makes the whole experience feel more connected and authentic. We shared a bunch of dishes, and everything was on point. The paella was rich and delicious -- exactly what we came for. The patatas bravas were crispy, creamy, and gone in seconds, and the shishito peppers were the perfect salty, snacky starter. Of course, we had to get a pitcher of sangria (okay, maybe two), which was fruity, refreshing, and just strong enough to keep things festive. The space itself has this great, rustic charm -- complete with checkered tablecloths and even an old cigarette machine near the bar (haven't seen one of those since I was a kid -- aren't those banned in the U.S. now?). I don't smoke -- smoking sucks -- but it added a bit of unexpected nostalgia and character. Service was excellent. I always make a point to be friendly, ask people their names, and introduce myself -- and that's usually met with warmth. It definitely was here. The staff were quick, kind, and seemed to enjoy the place as much as we did. Personally, I loved it. It's the kind of place you remember -- not because it's fancy or trendy, but because it's fun, flavorful, and full of heart. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Somewhere in the middle is a 1-2 year period where parts of Spain's community was shut down because of COVID or restricted in one way or the other. We were in Spain during May-June of this year and witnessed various businesses that were no more or maybe still hanging on my a thread. Our recent experience at La Yaya Amelia seemed to suggest the latter. La Yaya Amelia was recommended by our Hotel (1882) and was an easy couple block walk. We made a reservation, but as it turned out we were the only customers during our time there. This seems more like a locals place and it's corner neighborhood location would be hard to attract tourists, unless it were some hot foodie destination. On a side note, the owner's cute little dog charmed my wife, the shelter volunteer. At the beginning, the dog was wandering around and Gayle wasn't sure if he/she had a person. I looked up and told her that we can't the dog back with us to the USA. Her answer (and this wasn't her first dog siting in Spain) was that she'd already done the research and she agreed that it would be almost impossible to do so. But she still stayed on the case until she confirmed that it was indeed the owner's dog. La Yaya Amelia may not be the Catalan version of the French Laundry, but it was a damn fine place to eat. We both ordered off the "specials" list, me choosing steak and Gayle opting for fish. Add wine, bread, homemade dessert, and expresso, we left full and happy. Our service was great, yet the guy running the place seemed a little worn out and sad, as we were the business so far in the evening. So, if anyone is reading this review right now and you're thinking of Lunch or Dinner in the Sagrada Familia area, what are you waiting for?
