food was pretty good. Pleasantly surprised with the beet tartare. I was shocked at how good of a mix the cheese, pistachio nuts, beets, jimaca, etc were together. just note that it could be pricey, especially with the pre-purchased food packages because receipt includes 5% service charge for staff's wellness insurance coverages, sales tax, and auto 20% gratuity. service was top-tier! so, the tipping amount makes sense. the waiters and waitresses do a really good job at easing you in with the menu and walk-through of the show with the two 5-minute intermissions with 45-minute showings in between for the same storyline. they do emphasize the auto gratuity pay, but not the other charges, so just remember what I said when you ultimately pay! I did not know the staff at the check-in desk who seat you and also provide navigation around the vicinity (e.g. where the gender neutral bathrooms, bar counter, and main theater are at) were the same ones performing. makeup, outfits, and overall performance with the singing, acting, and dancing was reminiscent of Rocky Horror Picture Show, which they pay tribute to. They walk with tipping hats so that they can collect cash or so you can scan the Venmo QR code at the end of the show for each of the two catwalks at opposite sides of the main theater room. I was seated right in front of the catwalk with my general admission ticket ($68ish). I did not know that I had front row seats, and it was definitely worth it, especially because that is the lowest ticketing tier! for parking, I parked at the Pike Place Market garage that closes at 2300 or 11PM. they charge $10 if you come after 1600 or 4PM to park, which covers you the entire night if you come to the cabaret show. the event was a total of like 2 to 2.5 hours long, depending on whether you stay to talk with the performers, take pictures, etc. speaking of parking, if you come by late, the customer services (shoutout Kellen!!!) should be notified so that they can seat you accordingly. the latest to arrive was 30 minutes prior to showtime...otherwise they apparently seat you after the 1st intermission...did not happen to me, but please do not let it happen to yourself! that is like 45 minutes of the show gone, which is already at the halftime. the staff will try to accommodate you as much as possible so that you could be of attendance for the entire show...just be transparent and communicative. yes, they are responsive , even during day of show for your arrival unfortunately, we are not allowed to take pictures or videos while the show is going on, but trust me when I say that you want to fully immerse yourself, and pay attention to who and what is in front of you to truly get the most out of this experience. it was my first time to attend a cabaret show, and I will never forget ! :D

Four of us attended The Hitchcock Hotel for something different to do for a friend's bday while we were in town. We booked the Premiere seating, sip and savor tickets which include one cocktail and appetizer per ticket. Our seats were right on one of the catwalks so the action was literally 2 feet from our faces! Such amazing talent- singing, dancing, comedy, the works! This place provides a phenomenal experience from start to finish. We were impressed with what the lighting, effects, ambiance, and engaging environment. AND the drinks and food were excellent! We appreciated that a place that doesn't HAVE to have good food actually puts thought into designing a menu that has something for everyone, with high quality. And portions were generous! Fun, sexy, and slightly scandalous from start to finish. Not for your southern Baptist grandmother, although it would probably be the best thing that ever happened to her :)

Amazing Food Amazing Drinks Amazing Service Amazing Ambience and Vibe Visiting for the weekend looking for breakfast out on First Street. As you can suspect, all the viral spots had a line out the door. We sauntered on in Can Can for their brunch to a quiet half full dining room and so glad we did. Had some amazing morning bevvies and a world class breakfast burrito by some fun and friendly staff. Just a great overall experience. We also caught their Cabaret and Dinner experience later that evening of the Hitchcock Hotel and had even a better time. Their Duck Sliders, Falafel, and Artichoke Dip were excellent. Obviously the show and performers were out of this world. What a fantastic time!

I want to start by saying everyone was trying their best. I remember college and getting slammed while being understaffed (on top of a very lively social life after hours ). So I'm not mad at anyone. However I was pretty disappointed. I showed up on Saturday morning to an almost empty restaurant. We had not come for a show so we picked the time we did. I showed up at 11:40. It took a few minutes for me to get a hold of someone because they were busy. The server who came to the host stand explained that they needed a few minutes before seating me. She asked if I could come back in 20 minutes. I said that was fine but asked if I could be put on a wait list so I could resolve this. She took my number and said I would get a text when a table was ready. I did not get a text but my friend reserved a table for 12:15. So when I showed up I expected to get some good food and the five staff treatment. We were sat in the back where they have the stage. And there were only two other parties in the room. It was a dusty and tired vibe. But I was there to meet my friend and vent anyways. So no problem. So we end up getting our drinks. Then we order the food. And that was a mess. We both got the Chicken & Beignet. I had a Sugar Plum Fairy to drink and a Naughty shot. Everything was good. The chicken was well seasoned. Those sweet dough balls were cute. They tasted alright. They just were not the soft flaky pillowy beignets I'm used to. (Seattle has a bad habit of adapting things poorly so I wasn't surprised). So the food I give a 4. And up until this point the service was maybe a 3.5. Sorry. Everyone was super nice but you can tell when someone doesn't have the ability to give their full attention to you. This was a perfect example of that. Why? Because they were starting to prepare for a show soon after our food arrived. So I was very hurried the whole time. Why seat us in an area where you were going to rush us? Or at the very least give us the option. So I quickly hurried up and ate my food. And we settled up. Everyone was again super sweet. Saying thank you. All I know is it might be a while before I return. That was one of the most disappointing experiences in recent memory.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it was fantastic as expected! The show was amazing and funny. The service was great too. It's hard to find a bad seat in the theatre but I like sitting along the catwalk. Thankfully they do have comfortable AC too - not so much that you're going to freeze if you're dressed for the weather but you won't be roasting or sweating. The food was great - the only thing we didn't love was my partner was not a fan of the pepperoni flatbread that he got. They ran out of burgers apparently so he had to go with plan b and was disappointed. Other than that everything was lovely and we will definitely be back for future shows. A note: The appetizers seem to have gotten bigger since our last visit so we didn't actually even need to order entrees like last time. It was a lot of food so we took most of our entrees home.

If you're looking for a fun night out with a live performance, the Can Can is the place to be. The food was exceptional (I only got one picture of the food before the show started), and the show was even better. You won't be disappointed--you'll be entertained from start to finish. The wait staff were extremely nice, adding to the overall experience. The ambiance of the bar when you walk in is inviting and super fun. I didn't even realize the bar was there, so next time I'm at Pike Place, I'll definitely stop in for a drink. Inside the Can Can area where the show takes place, the atmosphere is lively and enjoyable. All the seats offer a great view, ensuring you don't miss a moment of the performance.

One of the brunettes stood out, her voice echoing the nostalgia of a forgotten era, so perfectly suited to the old-time glamour of Noir. But it wasn't just the talent on stage that made the night unforgettable. No, the real twist came when my husband, ever the wildcard, was pulled upstage by the amazing host. What started as a light-hearted contest soon turned into a full-on profanity-slinging battle. My husband, with his quick wit and sharper tongue, claimed victory in what can only be described as a verbal showdown. Dinner was delicious, and the drinks? Don't even get me started. The cocktail I ordered could make anyone forget their troubles, if only for a little while. If I were in the business of solving mysteries, this would be my favorite kind of night: good food, a killer drink, and a show so electric it could keep you coming back for more. This wasn't just a night out--it was an escape into something bigger, bolder, and much more thrilling than I ever expected. Can Can? It's more than just a place--it's an experience.

We had Sooo much fun. This was a first for me at CanCan. We went to celebrate a birthday and anniversary. The service is great the show is hilarious and the food was amazing. The croissant beignets were the best. We ordered one of each dessert and they were by far the better choice. All of the food was great. We will go back again very soon. It is small. I highly recommend sitting at the catwalk (VIP) section. Be prepared to be apart of the show or at least up close. It is 90 mins long with 3 short breaks. Read up the FAQ's online before going, especially the information about how they charge.

The Can Can's Noir performance is an absolute must-see! It is a sexy, fun, fabulous, and whimsical performance. We arrived 30 minutes early, which is highly recommended so you can peruse the menu and order a drink. Their cocktails are fantastic. We ordered the Beyond the Forest and the Pale Flower, and an absinthe shot. Our servers were great and the whole experience was just so fun! We can't wait to go back. We sat towards the back of the venue, but the performers walk all around so there really isn't a bad seat in the house.

What a fun date night! Great show and delicious food! I came for the Noir Thursday 6pm showing with my husband. They checked IDs upon entering and led us to our seat. We were seated along one of the runaways. We showed up around 5:20pm because it was our first time and we were planning on eating dinner there. Everyone was super friendly at the cabaret from our host to the performers, we enjoyed each interaction. Food: + Mac and Cheese gnocchi was so good and very filling! + pork chop - my husband got this and he enjoyed! Pork was nicely cooked and juicy. + gumbo - loved the flavor and the cheesy grits! I had to get a box to take the rest of my plate home because I got full. + pink chai latte - this was the perfect post meal drink that I enjoyed during the last part of the show. Show: Noir was very entertaining! All of the performers did an amazing job! There were 3 parts with 2 intermissions which was nice they split it up so you can order more things in between or take a restroom break. At the end of the show, you can tip the performers. I really appreciate that they do Venmo since I don't carry cash with me that often. Overall a wonderful experience!

Need an adults-only activity in Seattle? This creative gem is tucked away in the heart of Pike's Place and offers a whimsically sexy cabaret show. This cabaret is both professional and playful without taking itself too seriously. The show definitely emphasizes the talented female dancers, though there are also male dancers to make the performance appealing to all tastes. Be prepared for a solidly R-rated show with a good mix of humor interspersed between impressive dancing, live singing, and even rope spinning. It has two intermissions to allow you to stretch your legs and order more food -- I would take advantage of these, as getting up during the show may disrupt the performers entering and exiting. Our friends who had previously gone to the show told us that while the food is fine, it's nothing spectacular, so we opted instead to just order drinks. They were great and fairly priced (around $15-17 per cocktail). Overall, the show was entertaining and tastefully provocative, setting the mood for a great evening out. The show changes regularly so if you've been before, it will likely be different the next time around. Would recommend!

The food here was... not great. We went for brunch and got the breakfast bowl, the can can breakfast and prosciutto eggs Benedict. We also had a peach mimosa, which was served completely flat. The Can Can breakfast was probably the best thing that we got but was extremely bland. The breakfast bowl had so much cheese it was pretty impossible to eat. The eggs Benedict had spinach that tasted like it was bad. Service was fine, especially the server. It took almost 10 minutes before someone even acknowledged we were waiting to be seated even though the restaurant was pretty slow. The wife and I saw Hitchcock Hotel at the Can Can and of the 5 or so shows we've seen, it was by far our favorite. I love the new location, the food and drinks are wonderful, and the cast/performers were absolutely spectacular. I cannot recommend this place enough! What a great evening! Attended opening weekend of House of Hearts. The performers were amazing, food and drinks were yummy, and we had a fantastic time. There doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. There's very brief almost-nudity, but most of the show is in lingerie (bra or pasties). The talent is top-notch, whether dancing, singing, or even doing acrobatics. It was thoroughly entertaining and I'm so glad we chose to go. I come from a musical family and have admittedly high standards when it comes to musical theater. I saw This is Halloween with my wife and friends. The show completely blew us away. Stopped into this old classic and checked out there new space - it's awesome! Staff is dressed and debonair as ever, with a super cute, tough as nails bartender that made me a super delish Tuxedo #2 Martini - can you say Gin and Absinthe Delish... knew you could. So, I'm going to update my review. There's a couple things I'm going to add; some good, some not so good. There were some details that went into my two star review that I didn't add that night, but meant to later. My mother and I got to the restaurant a little after eight -- their hours said they were open until 10 PM. Still, when we said we wanted to order some food and have a couple drinks, a gentleman who sat us acted like he really did not want to. When it seemed he would turn us away, I said maybe we could order food to go?. He said he would ask the kitchen. He sat us and got our drink order, and the kitchen did ultimately agree to make us food to-go, but it was definitely shocking to show up nearly 2 hours before closing and be treated like we were inconveniencing them somehow. Despite that, I'm going to add a star to my review. The fact that the owner responded back to my Yelp review shows me that they really do pay attention and care about the responses to their establishment. I highly respect that. read more

Amazing. I couldn't not leave a review. The dancers were amazing and held the same energy the entire show. It's raunchy, fun, sensual. It's a vibe. Jumbo shrimp was big and filling for an appetizer. I would say getting a package deal is well worth it. I got the drink and appetizer and neither failed. Be sure to bring cash you're able to tip the dancers at the end! Finally was able to experience the Valentines Day cabaret show, and what a fun show it is! But if you want to attend, order your tickets ahead of time, as it's popular and has a tendency to sell out. Venue is small, but that could also be considered intimate. Their menu is great, with various options and multiple courses. These people make a delicious steak! Staff is attentive and professional. Nothing majorly new to add vs the other reviews but I'll echo by saying this is SUCH a fun experience and a must do! Especially if you're a tourist to seattle - this is a really unique experience and sure to have a good time. (It is risqué / cabaret style so not for everyone). The vibes, decor and performance are top notch. The food, drinks, service and fees have much to be desired. My advice is to get in as cheap as you can (not really a bad seat in the house) - don't upgrade, don't eat or drink much and enjoy the show. It's a blast! read more

My first time ever at an adult dinner theater as well as my first time in Washington ever! The food was delicious. I had the pomme frites with parmesan, herbs and white truffle oil and the beignet sliders! They were the bomb! As for the drinks, the Pomme pomme was okay but I really enjoyed the Jinkies Juice better! I enjoyed the show and our waitress, she told us it was her second day on the job. She did a pretty good job! I hope to come back one day! read more

If you do anything during a visit to Seattle, DO THIS! I am so glad I gave this a try before we moving away from Seattle. We went this past weekend for the 7pm Hitchcock Hotel. We arrived a little early and grabbed a drink at the bar before they started seating. We were seated promptly 45 mins before the show started and we got great seats right by the stage (bought preferred seating tickets.) We got waited on quickly and ordered our appetizers and drinks that came with each ticket (each preferred ticket gets 1 app and 1 drink included.) I got the coconut shrimp and wow they were cooked perfectly and the dipping sauce was so yummy! My husband got the truffle fries and those were good as well. My husband also got the filet meal and I had a few bites. It was cooked well and tasted good. I saw several negative reviews about the food so I was a bit skeptical, but everything we ate was great and priced well! I would definitely eat a full meal here again. The food was good, but we came for the show and it did not disappoint! All the actors were amazing dancers, singers, and all around performers. It was the perfect story line that included crowd play, jokes, singing, dancing, costume changes, and just the right amount of sexy. After the show, they do come around with hats for tips, so make sure to bring cash! The bill for your food/drinks has an automatic gratuity of 20%. I would love to see another show, I'm sad we just now gave this a try before we move out of the area. If were back in Seattle, I would definitely come back! read more

Came here for my bachelorette party and absolutely loved every second of this show. Everyone was so incredibly nice and welcoming. The performers were gorgeous and so talented. Every song and performance was done perfectly, with just the right amount of humor and sex appeal. And the song/experience they did for the bride was hilarious and in such good fun. It was all absolute perfection. The food and drinks were also very good. The kale salad was great, the soup of the night was a potato and corn chowder that was very tasty, and the steak dinner with broccolini and potatoes was HUGE. You definitely get your money's worth and it's also very good. The crepes were good but the creme brulee was fantastic, especially with the crispy pearls on top. My only tiny issue was that I wish there had been more time in between acts to eat your food. At times I felt a little rushed or like I couldn't eat because I didn't want to miss the amazing performances! But it's a very very small complaint since everything else was so great and I'm sure they do their best given the amount of time they have for the show. I could not recommend The Cancan more! The website to buy tickets wasn't the easiest as it crashes several times while trying to buy the tickets. Our reservation somehow got booked for the wrong time slot. However when contacting the team to fix this problem the person I spoke to was prompt and very sympathetic to the issue at hand. They were totally booked for the slot my party wanted BUT somehow they managed to get us in! We booked the Owners box package for seven of us which included champagne and beignets. When arriving we were greeted warmly and excitedly at the door and shown to our seats. This made us all feel welcome and special! The table was beautifully set, and spacious enough for all of us. The waitress brought us our champagne and took our food and drink orders. The food and drinks came out quickly and with enough time for us to eat before the show started. The show itself was nothing short of amazing! The narrator and cast interacted with the crowd the whole time. The performers are incredibly talented and funny. We came to the Can Can to celebrate our friend's birthday. We bought the extra celebration package where they'd bring her on stage and take a shot with her. The team asked if the shot should be alcohol or non alcoholic which is very thoughtful. When they called her up we were blown away at how much time she spent on the stage It was incredible! They did a whole musical number with her! It made the night even more magical! The extra package was totally worth the cost. At the end of the show the whole cast walked around chatted with the crowd making the experience that more personable. I'll be getting married in October and definitely want to make a stop here for my Bach party! I can't recommend this place enough! If you aren't sure if this will be worth it, It totally is. This show was amazing!! Definitely worth the money. We went to the 9:30pm showing and choose the option that included a drink and starter. Luckily, they let us choose a dessert since we had just come from dinner. I'm not sure I'd want to try eating a full meal while watching the show - I was too busy clapping and being entertained. Actual food seems too much for this setting. The dancers were wonderful! You can definitely tell that some of them have a background in dance. And to my surprise, a few of them sang!! I was not expecting that. The main host was hilarious. The costumes were perfect and I loved the theme - very moulin rouge (saw "Oo La La"). We had a great time! What an amazing performance and all the staff were just awesome! We showed up Sunday on the last show of the current season and they were sold out. We are from out of town and didn't get tix in time. The staff asked us to hang out and if a cancellation happened we would be first in line. Close to show time The amazing lead actor came out and offered us a table that they threw together for us. They created a space to squeeze us in. They went the extra mile when they certainly didn't have to. I cannot express how much this meant to us. We had such a great time! Thank you! We didn't get to try the food but it certainly looked good. The show was absolutely amazing. All the performers are so talented and so fun. Great interaction with the crowd and the vibe in the house was palpable. If you have the chance take a show in and just enjoy the ride. Support your local artists and service providers, they work their tails off and create such a wonderful experience. THE BEST decision I made was taking my friend to the Can Can Matinee last weekend. Dolly! was absolutely FANTASTIC. I have been a Can Can customer for the last 15 years, and have witnessed many amazing shows, enjoying them all. This particular mid day fun fest was such a wonderful surprise. My friend and I reveled in the wonder of it all. Greeted at the door by Jonny the very handsome, debonair, talented emcee and the exceedingly beautiful and talented Shadou. These two create an environment of class, style with inviting warmth. I L O V E coming here! Dolly's beautiful singing voice and an elegant presence was spot on. Really cool place in Seattle. Me and my mom stopped in after visiting Pike Place. My mom said the French Toast was fried (maybe deep fat or air, couldn't tell) either way it was DELICIOUS according to her. I got the Ham and Cheese Crepe (also amazing 10/10). I discovered the Can Can burlesque show from a friend I made in Seattle. We immediately bought tickets for the only show that would work into our schedule, midnight. When we arrived, we were brought into a bar area to wait to be ushered to our seats. We ordered drinks, and were so happy with the bartender. I explained to him the type of drinks I enjoy and he concocted something delicious for me. A short while later we were ushered to our seats. The theater is tiny and dark (maybe not the perfect place for someone who is claustrophobic). The show was fantastic! Just a tad racy, but a lot of fun, laughter, dancing and music. The performances seemed to read the crowd perfectly, knowing who they could and could not incorporate into their act. I spent the whole time smiling and laughing! I've been going to the Can Can for 10 years now and I have to say, the new location has brought the experience down in my opinion. I went on to Hitchcock Hotel on September 16th. The new theater is shaped like a L with the stage in the corner... facing the door to the kitchen. The seating areas go out to either side at 90 degrees and you can't see the stage very well from a lot of the seats. I was not the only person craning my neck to try to see. When the actors were out on the end of the stage facing front (aka the kitchen door) I was staring at their backs the whole time. Then when they went upstage to interact with scenery and props I couldn't see them at all due to the curtains blocking the sides of the stage. I think the kitchen had the best seats. Even the VIP people had to look around and over each other to see as they are all essentially sitting in one sight line to the stage. Very disappointed in what I was able to see for how much tickets cost. I spoke with the staff that night and they just kind of shrugged and implied I should have paid more for the preferred seating. I get that I just bought a GA ticket and didn't pay for the preferred or VIP sections, but I should still be able to see the stage and the actors faces, or it should be noted when you purchase the ticket that it's an obstructed view. I've included a drawing to illustrate what I'm saying. I've sat in all the different tiers of ticket prices in the old theater and I could always see the stage. This wasn't just me, either, most of our party had problems, and there was a guy further out on my side of the venue that had a giant post completely blocking his view and the whole area was really craning to see on stage. I ended up mostly just listening to the show and could only see when they went out on the long stage wings. Considering how much of the show involves facial expressions and the what the actors were physically doing, I didn't always get what was going on and I felt I missed a lot If you haven't been in awhile I think the style of the show has changed a lot, too. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just something to take note of if it's been awhile since you went. When I first started going it was burlesque as in strip teases with light comedy. Slowly over the years it's become more and more of a scripted & produced stage show and less... I guess you could say sensual? It's been a slow change over time but the last time I had been was just prior to the pandemic and even since then it feels different and more produced and less sensual. Still bawdy in its subject matter but more like a broadway show. It's basically like something you'd see at the triple door (which is fine, I like those type of shows too, just a change worth noting) The food was good and the drinks came out at great intervals. I think they've actually improved over time with the timing of their drinks and food service with the show. The servers were excellent and the performers were great! I just don't think I'll be back unless I hear they've rearranged seating better. No one should be sat in a seat where they can't view the stage read more

Such a fun time. The performers are excellent, we loved the food, the whole atmosphere is really cool. I was expecting to see beauty, dancing, and singing, which of course I did. But it was also funny, magical and visually impressive. It is interactive so they pulled a few people on stage from the audience. Of course the performers make or break an event like this, and all of them commanded the stage. You might get a seat with really close up views of their dancing. I don't know if anyone is able to request seats, but that's against the two railings on either side of the stage. Our table was perfect and we didn't request anything special. We had dinner elsewhere but next time I'll try dinner there. The snacks, desserts and drinks we ordered made me want to try more. Food was really good. I came here for the first time with some friends back in May. Since then I have been back once a month to enjoy a good time and brings new friends. Its fun to see how excited and happy everyone is. Everyone in the audience enjoys themselves and I truly believe that is the best part. Sure the food is great and the show is fun but it is really unique to be in an environment where everyone is so happy the entire time. Either way, we had a great time. You get a small cup of champagne while you wait/once you are seated. We each tried two drinks, and honestly everything was great. My favorite was the tart au citron-- it was sweet and tart and a perfect cocktail! My friend really loved the espresso martini-- I had a sip and it's probably one of the best in the city. Definitely worth a try and will be what we get again next time we come again!

Our bartender was friendly and awesome and the bar is dog-friendly (check out all the polaroids of past doggo guests - it's the cutest!). Roquette was a surprisingly small space with a wonderful vibe serving up "destination" bar-worthy cocktails. It reminded me of some of the neighborhood gem cocktail bars that I'd frequented on the East Coast. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Roquette's lineup of cocktails were varied in flavor profile using a wide range of spirits. They also served non-alcoholic offerings which looked equally intriguing as their boozy selections. I started off with the 99 Problems ($28), which, unfortunately, I forgot to note what was in the drink. It was boozy, clever, inventive, and most importantly delicious. My second drink was the Imperium Old Fashioned ($24) made with Westland Whiskey "Roquette" Barrel, Clement Cask Strength Rhum, Old Delicious Apple Brandy, Pineapple, and Spice. It was an excellent, boozy, balanced update to the classic Old Fashioned. Although I went with drinks off their menu, I have no doubt that any of their skilled bar professionals could've crafted me a wonderful cocktail if I had simply requested a classic or something on the fly based on my choice of spirit and desired flavor profile. Yes, the prices on the two drinks I ordered were pretty steep, but they were comparable to prices I've paid in Las Vegas. Plus, I don't have a problem with paying a premium for a well-made cocktail made with premium ingredients in a comfortable, welcoming setting (the drunken guy next to me who tried to engage with me in a political discussion excluded). Bottom-line: Roquette was a revelation. It served up two of the best cocktails that I've had this year. I can't recommend it enough and it'll be at the top of my list of places to hit the next time I'm in town.

I have to be honest, I went down there with a few friends to prove once and for all that no bar in the United States sells REAL ABSINTHE. My friend said she had been to a show at this place called the Can Can and got a shot of real absinthe. I just got back from Amsterdam and thought it was utterly impossible. So we decided to go during their "Green Hour" which is all day on Wednesdays. I have never been so happy to be wrong in my life!!! We arrived just before what we later found out was showtime. The bartender (Shawn i think it was) took all my skepticism with a grain of salt. I riddled him with questions that he had answers for one and all, my friends even started siding with him. Finally I gave in and asked him for a recommendation for a shot. He politely asked if I minded paying a certain price (some absinthes can be quite expensive), when I responded "No as long as it is real Absinthe", he just smiled and started the ritual of dripping water through a sugar cube to louge the absinthe. While that was going my friends order drinks off the bar's absinthe cocktail menu. We all got our drinks at the same time and sat at a table in the bar to watch the show. It was probably one of the most memorable experiences I have had in Seattle. Drinking real absinthe (which is delicious) and watching a modern take on European cabaret. The dancers were talented, energetic, and vibrant. I simply could not believe that I was in some basement in Pike Place Market watching this amazing show and drinking absinthe. After the show which i believe was what the dance troupe considers their greatest hits, I talked to the bartender more about absinthe (its effects and what not). His candor made my friends and me stick around and test a few different brands of absinthe, then some more of his cocktails. Shawn knows what he is doing. One of the waiters who had gotten off early bellied up to the bar and informed my friends and me while we imbibed that one of the cocktails (the Green Fairy) had won a cocktail competition. We all could see and taste why, Shawn explain it was a mixture of rum, lime, absinthe, and mint. We could not get enough. This is simply the place to drink absinthe! read more

Saved my night!!! i was having one of those awful days. me and a girlfriend decided we needed to unwind and just went walking through the market. we stumbled on the Can Can and decided to give it a chance. i had seen advertisements and read reviews and had been wanting to try it and i am kicking myself for not going earlier. my girlfriend and i got there for what were were explained to by the pleasant door girl to be the last number of their show so we got in free. we sat at the end of the bar and watched this "last number" in utter amazement. it was funny, and sexy, and powerful. i found myself sitting their belly laughing. i wasnt even there for the whole show but i just started throwing money at the muscle bound gentlemen coming around with the tip bucket. i was sorry we came so late but i vow to be back to see the show in its entirety. as we sat there laughing the bartender informed us about the other shows we would enjoy and served us some drinks to utterly destroy our bad day. after our first round we asked him to make us something special, without some much as a "no prob" he whipped us up a drink that i could have sworn was heaven in a glass. he called it "sophia's shadow" and it is worthy of the trip down alone. we closed that bar down sipping on their ridiculous selection of liquor and cocktails. i can not wait to go back for the show and the bar. i really cant believe it had taken me that long. read more

My friends and I got the itch to escape the eastside and play in Seattle. We couldn't find anything in the Stranger that sounded fun on a Tuesday, but my girlfriend's boss said that there's a place that has live shows every night that isn't advertised it the Stranger. That's how we ended up at the Can-Can. The cute hostess (with what my bro is convinced is a successful Betty Page look) happily ushered us in to a great night. Joe was slinging the absinthe behind the bar with one of the most welcoming attitudes I've ever been privy to in a new bar. The music was amazing as well! My only regret is that there were so many people doing something else stupid in Seattle when they could have been here. Half-off on Lucid absinthe? YES PLEASE! I'm twitterpated for this bar now. What an absolute waste of time. The place was under staffed and overly crowded. It was dark, dismal, and uncomfortable as all get out. The salad and soup were good but dinner never made it before the show started. And the show ruined our appetite's. After less than a half hour into the show, we had to get up and leave as it was just too stupid. I paid $95 for a nice meal, that never came, and a show that included a transgender male, I think, rubbing fake fish intestines on his butt and then sniffing it. FUN! Hey CANCAN management, maybe include a bit more info on what the show is BEFORE anyone buys a ticket. read more

If you're a brunch lover, this spot is worth a visit just for the French toast alone! It was so incredible that we had to order a second round--perfectly fluffy with just the right balance of sweetness. It's easily one of the best French toasts I've ever had! As for the rest of the menu, everything was decent, though not particularly remarkable. But that French toast is such a standout that I'd still give this place five stars. This was an amazing show. We had such a fun time. I would definitely go back. At first we thought it was a show for girls only as there where several bachelorette parties, and only 4 guys at the show. But, it was super fun and it felt like a show for both males and females. Stopped into the new can can for drinks w friends- lookover the new space, great service, was only disappointed that the bathrooms were still gendered with no other option?
