But today the entire city had a power outage, from the rest stop to ALL the businesses!! Our guest had to use the restroom!! So no time for me to Yelp or take pictures. It felt like the end of the world; everyone was so stressed out. Our usual stops were Starbucks and McDonalds; but if you are following, you know I have cut back on coffee and fast food. During the winter, we stop at Valero to fill up on gas before going over the summit. But currently, we have been using the "rest stops" for our breaks. Atmosphere - Typically easy in and out. But for the last few visits, it was not easy in and out. We have been here during snow storms and you were all closed also... So you are becoming less dependable. I'm born and raised all natural city girl, but let me tell you, I would move up here in heartbeat if it was possible for me. Living here is an introvert's dream! Just peace and quiet, no busy roads and traffic. Very friendly residents and just so lovely all over! There are a lot of hidden rivers, creeks, and secret water holes up here! Basically, if you know, then you know! Also, the little town of Nevada City is not too far away either! Lots of good eateries and novelty shops out there! I came up here to spend a few days at my friend's place and the pictures of her home, pretty much sums up the beauty of Colfax! She did tell me she has some tenants that don't exactly pay rent. She does live on a few acres, so her night and day tenants are: Bears Mountain Lions Bobcats Coyotes Raccoons Possums Deers And also it snows up here too and when it snows it SNOWS! Mother nature will really DUMP that white powder up there like nobody's business! Prepared to be snowed in for a few days a week or so. Just some things to consider if you ever wanna live in this beautiful little country town!

He stated he would be unable to use his GPR because it broke n required a repair back East n stated he could only check for electrical wires utilizing EMF. He finally stated he got the " lawn mower back n could come to my property- he scanned my wiring to my well pump but then out of the blue stated because I was in the " boonies " that his GPR would not work because his I iPad did not have a WIFI signal ?- Duhh- Extremely unprofessional- If he's suppose to be a pro and I told him that I only had 2 bars that he should have planned better n bought a remote WiFi hotspot to accompany his machine n obtain coverage for proper scanning. I reluctantly paid him half for his trip / travel time expense and he departed back home n rescheduled for the following Monday which he canceled due to overtime job at Beale AFB. He never called to reschedule so I found a guy with a system with its own built in signal and used him which he completed properly. I would not recommend this floater to anyone!- U get what u pay for n no one should have to go thru what U did to get a normal utility scan! Incompetence abounds- caveat Emmotor buyer beware!!!! Fund a utility pro who " actually is passionate about his job n finds solutions not creates problems the customer has to endure!

I reached out to Charlie and he responded quickly. He was genuinely pleasant to work with, always polite and professional, and honestly just a joy to chat with. He completed the job promptly, did excellent work, and charged a very fair price. As new homeowners, we weren't sure what we might run into underground. We mapped out a route we thought would avoid any existing pipes or power lines, but while trenching with his mini excavator, Charlie discovered critical water and sewer lines in an unexpected area. Despite working with heavy machinery, he exposed the lines cleanly without damaging anything. Charlie then went above and beyond by pointing out a pre-existing issue with the pipes that could have been problematic for us down the line. Even after the job was complete and we were all settled up, he went back and forth with us to make sure everything was working well. He even called around to some of his contacts, grabbed supplies, and came back out a few days later to make sure everything was working properly. I can't recommend Charlie the Trencher enough. Outstanding work and an even better person.

He's experienced and has the appropriate, good equipment so the task of trenching and covering it went smoothly! During the job he asked if I had any questions. He communicates well / is easy to talk to... answered all questions! It's hard to tell where he did his work. It almost looks as if he wasn't there. He took the time to hand finish the job.....even, maybe, arranging the leaves and pine needles back to the way they were. I would highly recommend Charlie to you!
