If I could grow two extra arms I'd give this place four thumbs down. I was lied to on billing... Verbally told each gallon is 3.44 In fact I was being charged 8.39 per gallon. According to math. I canceled immediately.. I then received multiple calls after my request to cancel. Them demanding an explanation.. as of why I would cancel. I explained, and was indirectly told my math is wrong. I was explained to by a rep how 2+2=6 and was given a word salad, Classic Complex Legal Maneuvering companies like this utilize a range of legal strategies to avoid liability. And bill you for no reason it's fancy theft! I do not associate nor do business with liars. After my contract was void and null I later was emailed by Jordan that I would be sent to collections for a meter reading fee for a building I no longer occupy for a building I do not own. Come to find out campora installed a tank at the commercial property without authorization From land lord I have proof and testimony of that from the land lord. Next door tenant was wrongfully billed for propane he didn't use. Him "not having a contract with campora " was charged for no reason. Campora filling his tank without authorization to do so In the summer time Also have proof and testimony of that. the list goes on! seems to me campora lacks integrity and posture! Absolute disaster. A tree fell and destroyed our propane tank, and Campora left us without gas for a full month--no stove, no hot water, in the middle of winter. They came out four times and still couldn't fix it. Finally the supervisor showed up without the parts because he forgot them, got his truck stuck in our yard ON TOP of a smoldering burn pile, tore up the yard, and then his truck broke down. I wish I was joking. They finally claimed there was a leak in the line--but couldn't find it or fix it. I called a different company, and within 24 hours, they came out, redid everything (properly), found no leak, and got us running again--for free. Then, Campora had the audacity to charge my debit card $1,200 without my consent for services they never completed. Not a single call, not an invoice--just took it. Completely unacceptable. They wasted our time, destroyed our yard, and left us stranded for weeks. Avoid Campora at all costs. read more

I started out with Campora Propane when our Landlord request we use them for the service at our rental home location. A tank was already on site, and the landlord had worked out a tenant discount for all their tenants. I have never had an issue with service or the office staff. I have always been a Will Call customer. I have let myself run out of gas, a couple of times, and the office staff has always been understanding and gotten our tank refilled as soon as possible. That said, after several years of being a customer, I applied for employment, as it seemed an honest friendly place to work. I kept applying until they Finally hired me, lol. I was a little concerned when I saw negative reviews. Most of the comments that said they were being held "hostage" or that they weren't required to pay for the propane delivery until they might want more. What company in their right mind would tell you pay whenever you feel like it. If you received a product and are using that product, you owe the bill. Why would anyone assume you don't owe the company a payment after using the propane for months. The only bad reviews are unfortunately from people whom may not always pay on time or have let their tank run out of gas. When Campora is required to come out to your home after you have run the tank out of propane it requires a safety check and a labor charge. Your safety is of utmost importance. How do we know for a fact that you ran out of gas and it wasn't because of a leak or malfunctioning appliance? All propane companies do the same. This is not a scam, it is in fact a Safety requirement. Since my employment, I have only noticed the effort the company is putting in to make every customer feel like they are the only customer that matters in that moment. We take the responsibility for your safety very seriously. We are available 24/7/365, even at 2 am. We always have a technician available for any safety issue's you may have. CAMPORA GAS DOES NOT HAVE TO CARE AOBUT ITS CUSTOMERS. SO IT DOESN'T. I moved to the Sierra foothills in 2021. This is the first time I have ever had propane service. I was told by the landlord that I HAVE TO USE Campora Gas. I call and set up service. I am told by a staff person at Campora Gas that as long as I pay my bill before I need gas again, that is fine. Turns out, NO, IT IS NOT. Because when I go to order gas again 5 months later, they tell me I am so delinquent, the only way I can get gas from now on is pay as you go. This tank cost $600 to fill. Yeah, Im not that rich. So the office manager, in what I thought was an act of good business faith, said I can make installments, BUT, I cannot get gas until the bill is paid. I pay the bill. My tank is at 25% I order gas. They tell me it could be up to 12 days before I get gas. 7 days later (in the winter) I call them and tell them we are at 5%. They tell me it hasn't been 12 days yet. 3 days later I call them and tell them we are at 0%. AND WE HAVE NO HEAT. They tell me it hasn't been 12 days yet. I have been without gas and therefore no heat (no, we don't have a fireplace) for 4 days. The temperature in our house is 51. It gets up to 59 during the day. I called them this morning 1/30/2023 and they tell me they're sorry but it hasn't been 12 days yet. Like a robot. Monotone, calm, almost smartassed. YOU, the customer, are hostage to their whims. Then I search CAMPORA GAS and see a whole litany of negative reviews. Clearly CAMPORA GAS business model and policies are based on the worshiping MONEY over PEOPLE. Unfortunately, being an ASSHOLE company is not in the California criminal code. AVOID CAMPORA GAS if you possibly can. UPDATE: I called Hunt Propane and told them what's going on. They will have someone out here today to give me a quote in replacing the tank. TODAY! And, the person at Hunt Propane told me its their 6th call today from unhappy Campora customers. We cannot say enough about how efficient, thorough, and professional Campora Colfax is, and the extent they go to keep safe and satisfied customers. We had an issue with our tank and they addressed it quickly, there was no waiting. Jordan, the new manager, was quickly to answer our calls, was very patient, easy to communicate with and reassured us that we were valued customers. Then adding the very pleasant office staff into the mix it all made for a bad situation much easier to go through. Campora in Colfax has Poor customer service and likes to hold your family hostage and wanting a ransom fee of some sort. CAMPORA will strong arm themselves onto your property to receive ransom payment. THE ladies in office wants you to be on some auto program and pay $200 a month, Even if you don't need it. They do not care for community or their customers will being especially when your out of propane for two weeks and you get to bbq your water just to bathe . They like to charge an emergency fee of $100-$200 if you need anything. They only care about money, profits, and the bottom line. read more

We cancelled our service when we realized other propane providers were almost $1 a gallon cheaper and it took 6 weeks for Campora to pick up their 500 gallon tank which was sitting in our driveway- total of 3 reschedules by them. I paid the yearly tank rental fee, $115, in May. We cancelled the service on June 7th. I asked about a refund of the tank rental fee for the 10.5 months after we cancelled and they said, "We don't prorate tank rentals- you get nothing back." We've been Campora customers for 16 years. The customer service/delivery/care has considerably deteriorated the last 2 years. Example; we tell Campora that we're down between 15-20%, we ask for delivery. We are always told it'll be 10 days, or "we'll get to you", "you're not going to run out") etc. Today, March 7th, we made our third call, first call was February 21st. We're down to 10% now, and expecting a big storm this weekend. If our power goes out, our generator needs propane, good luck to us. Being on auto fill with Campora means nothing. They missed the estimated auto fill date in January before the storms and missed the auto fill for March during the storms. Campora blamed me for not having the road plowed, notwithstanding that a Ford F150 with no chains made it down the one mile private road just fine. The road to our house has been plowed 2X since the "attrmpted delivery" (Campora claims they couldn't get diwn the driveway but the truck never got within 1/2 mile of the driveway). I call and tell Campora and it means nothing. Today I was told "by the end of the week." I guess I am supposed to have the main road in plowed daily just in case Camora deigns to show up. Ridiculous. HORRIBLE!! We called in November to have the previous owners tanks removed from our yard. 2 months later they still sit here. They are using our property to store their property. I called and at the admin states sorry we only do pickups in Spring or Summer. So I said you're basically using our property as your storage unit, she said yeah if that's how you want to think of it...um how else would I think of it!! I am not sure what has happened to Campora here in Colfax! I have been on auto fill for over.a Year and recently, last few months I have had to call to get a fill and when I call at 35 or 30 percent they say that's plenty for a week or more and they give me a day for delivery. I have had to make 4 and 5 calls after that for the past two or three months being told by a date and no one shows up. Keep in mind where we live, I have a Generac which sucks propane if power goes out. Last fill I was empty by the time someone showed up which affects Generac. Again. here we are, I started calling last Friday, was told a day, checked and called 4 times , even called again and was told for sure Friday by 8 pm and no delivery still. Once again I am on auto fill/ pay and It is unacceptable. Management needs to figure out a better system or they will continue to lose customers. read more

I'm surprised by all the negative reviews, we've had Campora for 8 years and have always had very positive experiences with them. We just had our extra tank removed and they were helpful with every step. Tim came out to do an inspection and was incredibly thorough, walking me through every step and figuring out how to save us money where he could, while still doing everything correctly and safely. He came out with another gentleman who's name I didn't catch today to do the removal, and they were so great! Quick, thorough, really nice and funny guys. They did a great job and explained everything along the way. Their office staff has always been super nice as well, calling me back to explain the planned tank removal and my options, and has always helped us out fitting us into their delivery schedule, even when we've messed up and let our tank run low due to finances. We have been dedicated customers for over 12 years for many propane services, home etc. we have always dropped off our many home and fifth wheel portable propane tanks for refills with no issues. We dropped off 3 tanks on Tuesday and called today to see if they were ready. The lady said that they were robbed and the tanks were stolen and we were always leaving them at our own risk -- inside a fenced, gated business. I used Campora for just under a year to fill my privately owned LP tanks for my house. They were great until last month. I had them replace all my valves on my tanks. Their service man, Ron came out and was GREAT. He was very quick to respond, gave me his personal cell number and was beyond helpful with the maintenance on my tanks. He had to come out a couple different times due to various reasons (not his fault). I cannot speak highly enough about Ron. After the job was done, I had Campora fill the tanks which were at empty. This was a 400+ gallon purchase and cost about $1,300 to fill. About a week later, I checked the tanks and saw that they were at 50% +/- capacity. I called in and Ron came out the next day. We found a leak on one of the valves. Ron stated that he checked the entire setup for leaks prior to the tanks being filled. He also stated that it was a strange situation and that I would need to reach out to his manager Andy (I think that is his name) to see if Campora was going to work with me regarding this mistake. Ron stated that Andy was aware that I would be calling in regarding this issue. Ron also stated that he personally supported me in that some sort of resolution should be found for refilling the propane loss. This leak cost me approx. 200 gallons of propane and would be about $600 to replace. I called into the office asking to speak to Andy later that week. The secretary advised that he would call me back after a meeting that he was in. About a week later, I still had not heard back, so I gave them a call again. The secretary again told me that he would call me right back. Another week went by and I still had not heard back. I called again and the secretary stated that Andy was in the room with her and that he would call me right away. Again, no call. I called one more time and again was told he would call me right back. That was a week ago. Clearly Campora does not care about their customers, or retaining them. This was a huge loss for me and to have zero communication regarding this is unacceptable. Campora clearly just sees their customers as money signs, as they are quick to call to get payments for their services, but cannot speak to a customer about a major mistake. read more

We've used Campora for years as that's what kind of tank was set up at the house we live in when we moved in. Usually we order gas before we run out but it's been especially cold out and the heat has been on more often than usual so we ran out of propane without realizing it. We called Campora for a delivery and were told 10-12 business days. We have two small children, a 6 month old and a 1 and 1/2 year old so we asked if there was any way to get gas sooner only to have the lady on the other end of the line chuckle as she said "nope, you're a will call customer, so it's up to you to call us". We got off the phone and discussed what to do so we called back to see if again there was any way for them to get us a delivery sooner, especially with two small children and an outdoor temperature of 25 degrees, to which they again just laughed and said no a second time. On our third call to try and speak with someone in management the same lady finally told us if we wanted propane sooner it'd be an extra $250 charge to get a delivery within 24 hours. Why was this not mentioned on our first phone call?! We can't possible have no heat for 10-12 days when it's below 30 at night! You're telling me that they couldn't stop at a house with no propane and deliver at fraction of a tank to help them out. Most of their current deliveries are to houses that just want to fill up before they run out, not to people with ZERO propane! These people don't give a crap about their customers, please save yourself the trouble and find a better company with some morals. read more

Set up my service with campora when I moved into my cabin and all went well at first. Then the gas ran out and I called to ask what the deal is and they said I was a will call account and to have gas set filled I had to call before it ran out (which it did). Better yet no one told me this when I started service or helped prepare me for having a propane tank. When service ran out on Friday I called to have it filled. I was told that the driver would contact me, which he did and stated he was on his way. He then called back to inform me that he couldn't fill my tank because I was a will call account and there was nothing he could do for me or help to fill the tank. Please note I was "will call" on my account because the front desk didn't share with me the protocol or options available while setting up my account at first arrival. This lack of care ( which we shouldn't blame on an hourly worker) has now resulted in 4 days without warm water, heat, or a stove top for cooking. This is ridiculous.....but wait friends it gets better!!!! I called today around 10am while at work on my 10 minute snack break to request and reinstate service to be filled and was Told that I am on the schedule! Thank god baby I can go back to work and slave knowing I will finally have a warm shower and gas to cook food when I am home! Hallelujah hallelujah!! Wrong. I get home to no gas no call and no notification. So I call again after hours ( as I am a hard working person who cannot reach services from 9-5 on the week days only) and they say they cannot have a driver deliver gas to me now and I need to talk to someone tomorrow morning to schedule a delivery....wait.... I did that today and you all didn't show. And I can't get the delivery driver for after hours emergencies to show because I am at will call still even after calling today. TF?! These idiots need some serious help. Even their drivers are fed up with them. Better get they have a 3rd party answer service for after hour calls clearly because they don't pay anyone in-house enough to give a shaaaaat or care to have someone in house who could do something do it. Anyone care to share their experiences with this price gouging conglomerate that doesn't care about customers who pay ridiculous prices for warm air water and atmosphere????? Please share! I have been with Campora for several years and have more often than not had very positive interactions. The customer service has always been very good and the staff I talk to are always polite and helpful. I would have no problem recommending this company to friends and family. We had a rental house in the area, and they'd come by monthly and we didn't think to check rates with others propane companies , so partially our fault , but as we were moving out found out that we could have changed out the tank and used other propane companies in the area who are half their price ! Well, these reviews are really split! But I have to throw my hat into the five-star ring. Campora has never let me down. We moved to Colfax last March. After being a suburban girl my whole life, living with propane was a big switch. Our sellers had graciously left us 5% in the 500-gallon tank and our agent told us on move-in day, "Better call them now." Temps were in the 30s and we didn't want to be without heat. They came bright and early a day and a half later. The 1200-dollar bill gave me a mini stroke, but this was, after all, the new reality I chose. After the hot summer we didn't need them again until October, when they once again served up a fast delivery. Fast-forward to late December and the great snow storm and blackout of '21. When the lights went out and the generator went on, we were at 35% propane, so we called right away. Not only were they presumably swamped, but their phone line was screwing up. So we emailed and they responded immediately. They didn't make us any shallow promises, but the upshot was they would get to us as soon as humanly possible. We had to wait six days while they struggled with impassable roads and a long list of demanding customers, but on Sunday, January 2nd, there was that beautiful truck coming up the driveway! Oh, and our driveway was still not driveable, so he had to back out and use our neighbor's driveway and stretch the hose across through knee-deep snow. And he filled that bad boy to capacity. I think they did a remarkable job considering the obstacles. Hearing horror stories of other propane providers, I'm glad ours is Campora. read more

Ok...Show of Hands: How many of us have been excited about their propane supplier for any reason OTHER than a) Unexpectedly starting the day by way of a slap-ya-in-the-face-with-a-wet-squirrel cold shower OR b) Discovering Hot Propane Guy rocking the whole bangin 'stache and testosterone truck groove solid is filling your tank? (Curiously, 'b' also seems to ends with a cold shower - for me at least - despite or perhaps because of said refill..) That's pretty much what I thought; aside from the icy needles cascading down upon our fish belly white naked vulnerability and/or The Joy of Propane Porn, we haven't much else to find memorably stimulating in this the rather pedestrian neighborhood of our friendly three-carbon alkane. But this would soon change. My view of liquid petroleum gasses and gas related customer service has raised the proverbial hydrocarbon considerably; all thanks to the fine folks at Campora Propane Colfax. A highly unusual account issue created a set of challenges for the team at Campora and myself. It was just one of those things that one doesn't encounter often (if at all) and had the potential to become a quagmire. No matter the fact that Campora wasn't at fault - and could easily have justified leaving me in the weeds - they chose to help. Yes Help. Assist. Aid. Go The Extra Mile. All that and a few hundred other positive adjectives and glowing superlatives. Campora jumped in with tact, sensitivity and class. And fixed the issue spot on right and quick. Wow. Just Wow. My husband and I just bought our first home here in foresthill, and we moved from orangevale, so having a propane tank and septic tank are all very new to us. When I called campora to transfer service in our name, the lady I spoke with was very personable, helpful and offered a lot of great advice. She set us up to have someone come out to check the tank and make sure nothing was leaking. I would also be able to complete all the paperwork at that time too.. The following Monday Travis came to do the inspection. Everything with the tank was fine, but he did find that our stove/range never had an LP conversion kit installed and he explained to me why we would need to get one. He was a wealth of knowledge! He gave me so many different tips on how to conserve our propane, using our wood burning stove to heat the house, tips with the septic tank and also lots of info on where to shop locally. I was very impressed by the all around service I have received from Campora and their employees! read more

Years ago this company was awesome but fast forward to 2022, not so much. In the process of our home being sold we had two accounts with Campora (lucky them) and during "Snowmageden" of 2021, we ran out of propane like alot of people. We called, emailed, messaged on the portal, reminding them which address to deliver to. Even the morning of the expected delivery, I called them AGAIN to make sure they delivered to our new address. THEY DIDN'T! Out of electricity for 13 days, out of propane, no heat, hot water or a way to cook inside, they delivered a full tank of propane to an empty house. We finally got the correct delivery but now we had a $2000 bill with Campora. We've been paying on the account since December and gave them $350 just a week ago ($1150 has been paid ) but today we got a notice if we don't pay the balance in 10 days they are going to send us to collections. After being a customer for over 7 years this is how we are being treated. We own our tank and have switched our service to Hunt. Hope our experience helps in your decision choosing a propane company. read more

Absolutely the worst utility service I have ever had to deal with. These guys will scam you out of every single cent they can get. Our usage went from approximately $1.50/day to $5.75/day during a month that we were out of the country for two whole weeks. Only gas appliances we have is central heating and oven/cooktop so absolutely no gas should've been used during those two weeks. When approached about the subject, they offered absolutely no explanation as to how this could've happened, however their technician came out and found 3 severe leaks in our line. Contacted 5 times over the last month trying to get a hold of the manager, who is conveniently out of the office every time we called. Their response: absolutely zero warning and then shut off our gas. Best part, they are now charging $100 for screwing in about 15-20 threads on a pipe to reconnect it. If we were not renting, therefore having no control over being forced into using these crooks for utilities, I would have cancelled the service after the first issue. I can not stress strongly enough how important it is that this "company" should be avoided if you're looking for gas service in the area. read more

Before I got a propane tank and first fill for my new house I made a giant spreadsheet of what I needed to know from propane companies and called 6 of them to compare prices and services. Campora won my business because they are local, had more consistent pricing per gallon, good tank rental price, and could install and fill a tank sooner than others. Jan,who opened my account and walked me through paperwork, was great. She was friendly and knowledgeable. Ed, who installed my tank, tested the lines, and got my heat working was great. He was quick, kind, knowledgable, and thorough. I think the tank-filler was Mike. He was also friendly and professional. I called their answering service very early this morning when my heat quit and even they were great. The tech called me shortly and he was great too, not actually able to help but gave me a good reference for a heating and air place nearby. So far, Campora has knocked my socks off and I feel I made the right choice. I will recommend them to others, even if I don't get the bonus gallons for referrals. I will recommend them because they are on top of their game and good communicators. read more
