Finally a propane company that's good! I had them install a tank for me (that I own) and they do my regular fill. Great service all along. Particularly appreciate during the January 2022 snow apocalypse they were out and delivering as soon as possible. Also gotten friendly helpful service from the office when I needed a copy of a receipt. For the longest time they had the best price in the area. I'm not sure if they still do but they post their price history right on the website, completely transparent. read more

Always the best price on propane in the area. The rest are crooks, plain and simple. Amerigas charges at least a buck a gallon more than fair market value at any given time of the year and Farrellgas has drivers who will actually steal your cash and you get hit with the bill twice. Never had a problem with these guys ever. No hidden fees or any of that nonsense. read more

If you have pilot light issues, they won't help you. Apparently they don't inspect the water heater when the pilot keeps going out even though the propane safety pamphlet THEY gave me says to call if it won't stay lit and have they're professionals look at it. They didn't even give me a local area to call! Hopefully nothing blows up! Fingers crossed . Eye roll ensues read more

Can't say thanks enough to ace Propane!! Due to crazy circumstances we found we were virtually out of propane upon return from a trip. Too cold here to be out of heat and hot water. I called Ace and Connie in the office was great and set up for a service man to come and help us out. First thing in the morning the serviceman Michael calls and said he would be right out. Within 15 minutes he was there and did a safety check and was able to get us enough propane to heat things up again until our Thursday delivery. Michael was amazing, friendly and made things ok!! I am another former Amerigas customer and the difference in customer service is night and day! I reached out to Ace because I couldn't get Amerigas to pick up my old tank after more than 6 months of being with Ace, even with calling weekly. Ace Propane went out of their way to track down an Amerigas sub-contractor and he had my tank gone in 2 days! Truly above and beyond- I am an Ace Propane customer for life! read more

Ace came out and removed my Amerigas tank (yes, been getting ripped off by Amerigas for years by paying their raised prices because we rented the tank from them) and Ace installed a tank that we purchased. They were friendly and professional, and were competitively priced (we really shopped around). They didn't try to sell us their propane, but told us to check around and that they'd be competitive. When the time came to refill that tank, we saw an internet ad from Amerigas and like idiots, bit into it by calling them. They scheduled a "free leak down test" and a fill offered at half price, but they only sent a tech out to do the leakdown test (who claimed to find a leak and red tagged our downstairs unit!) and when we asked if they were still planning on filling our tank for the advertised price, the tech told us we had "enough gas" at 40%. They apparently had NO intentions of honoring that advertised price. So we called ACE. John from ACE came out - same day and at NO CHARGE - and after a lengthy and thorough inspection, took care of our problem and then offered to fill the tank for about half price!!! They will be out tomorrow and every time thereafter. Excellent customer service!! 5 Stars doesn't express how rare and amazing our experience with ACE has been! read more

The ACE guys came out and removed my rented Amerigas tank and installed one of my own yesterday. I've been getting ripped off by Amerigas for years. Wish I had done this sooner, but I'm finally rid of terrible Amerigas. Mike pressure tested my system and fixed a couple minor things in the process. We just retained Ace Propane as our propane company. After 22 years with AmeriGas, we finally had enough of their new corporate, non-customer service approach. While we had good experience with AmeriGas until the last year and half, we decided to go with Ace upon recommendation from a former AmeriGas general manager from another county. Ace delivered and set up our new 350 gallon tank yesterday. The set up crew (Mike, Tim and Michael) were very professional, courteous and friendly and most capable. In the course of setting up the new tank, they did a leak and safety check of our propane system (standard procedure). In the course of that inspection they discovered a gas leak in our new Generac generator that was installed a little over a year ago. They also found other irregularities with the propane plumbing connections to our generator. At no cost to us, they replumbed the connections to our generator realizing that it is part of the customer service that they appear to hold to the highest level. We previously had experience with John Murphy when he was the manager at AmeriGas. We always liked his customer first approach to providing service and was delighted to see that he has been the manager at Ace Propane for about the last five years or so. We felt like we have come back home for our household propane needs. It also appears that many of the staff at Ace Propane once worked for AmeriGas. Our initial impressions are that we are also impressed with the office staff, delivery staff and of course their excellent propane technicians (Mike and Tim) that probably caught and fixed a ticking time bomb before it was too late. It is also refreshing to note that Ace Propane actually has an office where customers can actually go to conduct business, should the need arise. read more

After two con artist propane companies forced me into legal involvement ( I won), I found ACE. The have been fair and decent! They do not fill my tank when it is not needed and charge me astronomically. They have actually even notified me when the prices are down. They didn't con me into renting or buying a new tank when my old 500 gallon tank was just fine (Ace actually tested it). The other companies would not use it (causing rental fees) and it is still in service under Ace. The lack of stress from dealing with Ace makes it OK for the extra $$ to deliver to the hinterlands (Downieville & Sierra City). Check them out! read more

I have had Ace propane for more than 6 years now. GREAT GREAT company!! Always been reliable, helpful and friendly. Ran out of propane once during all that time and they were there with an emergency fill within two hours after the initial call -- and we live in No. San Juan, so not a short distance for them to travel. And NO delivery charge on that emergency fill. I appreciate that they are a locally owned company instead of a big conglomerate that is just out for a quick buck and gets by with lousy customer service. Great customer service. Very responsive. Its a small local business, so you get personal attention and they're friendly. The owner even came out and made a house call one day when I noticed a gas leak from one of my external pipes. He spent over an hour at my home addressing and fixing the problem, and taught me what to look for/how to fix it in the future. He then made sure that all my pilot lights were lit before he left. And he did all of this for no charge! read more

My experience with Ace has been top-notch. When we first moved to NC, we had no previous experience with propane - and found there are things to learn. Kathy & crew were very helpful, informative and forgiving of some of our earlier mistakes. They also gave us warnings about expected price raises which were very helpful. We've been using Ace since we moved here last year. I initially called 5-6 companies and Ace had the lowest price around. I did the same thing again the second time we needed a refill. Now I don't even bother calling around. Their service has been great too. They have always shown up when they say they are. On a general note about propane; the cost is much lower in the summer months. Fill your tanks before the winter and you save a lot of money. read more

Ace propane is great! We had ferrel gas for a couple years and would always notice that they would adjust the bill to add an extra dollar per gallon etc. Weird stuff kept happening and when we would call ferrel they would make it hard to adjust the rate they were offering/promised etc. So, we heard about ACE and were told to use them. Since, then we've had excellent rates compared to other companies in town, great customer service and understanding. I can't say enough about ACE, really nice people great service! read more

I am so disappointed in their attitude and service. We had our tank on an automatic refill but they wouldn't come out to fill it until we called when it was empty. Then of course they would charge another fee to pressurize the line. (Or whatever they were calling it). But we tolerated the poor service because we wanted to support a local business... and all the other reviews were great. But my husband and I have not been impressed at all. We finally just asked them to come pick up a tank that we had already purchased because we would rather deal with a company who can keep the tanks full. Or at least a company who isn't quite so rude about everything. They came to our home when we were in town and drove right through the middle of the grass leaving tire marks all over our property. Perhaps they were upset after losing our business. Whatever the reason it doesn't justify destroying someone's property or trespassing on our land. read more
