Poor overall experience. Chose this location for its access hours (til 11pm) and thought it was the only one in the county open late but just found another: Keep It Safe Storage on Loma Rica, GV. Customer service has great room for improvement. - My 1st time arriving my access code didn't work, staff were on lunch and I waited around for 45 mins with 2 trucks full of movers and items. They have an app for remote gate access but staff on site have no idea how it works and can't troubleshoot issues. Prices went up $60/mo! - The deal started out as 1/2 off for 3 months, went to normal billing for 3 months, and now it's an extra $60/month?! Their competition around the corner is now $100 less per month and they were unwilling to retain my business by offering a lower rate. Byeeee! read more

After you get a move in special price, be prepared for an increase of 100% in rent. The manager Petra is a nitemare to deal with. Extremely nosey, she makes everything complicated. I was overcharged and when I disputed it, I was asked to be out in 48 hours. This isn't even LEGAL un California state law. Never again. BEWARE. read more

I rented a unit for about a year, 2020 to 2021. I needed it as essentially a closet for all my clothes I accumulated living in the city. The facility is immaculatly clean, safe and has one of the best views in the county. Would highly reccomend and if I need another unit, no question I'll be here. Horrible storage place. Took a full month of pay for only 2 days worth of storage. Would absolutely not go here and recommend anyone thinking of going here to go elsewhere. The facility is very clean and secure, But, the owners pay the tenants to post inflated reviews. There has been a recent management change, the prior managers were excellent the new one - not so much. Within 5 minutes of meeting him I'd been been given uninvited info on his personal life. No thanks. The current owners have imposed another insurance fee and the rent is going up in August as much as $39. Because of demand for storage. Just because they can raise it doesn'mean they should. Their costs haven't gone up that significantly. Let's call it what it is - opportunistic greed. In this time of financial insecurity it's te to help provide services that support loyal tenants not discard them. I call foul! Respect loyal tenants, not push them out on the street. read more

After a long tedious move, it was great getting to Old Barn Storage. We were met by a friendly, efficient staff person who checked us in and explained things thoroughly. The "Old Barn" is anything but an old barn. I've been hauling things out of MY old barn where there's creepy crawlies and rodents and who knows what! Then I take this stuff to storage at "The Old Barn" where everything is so clean, well lite and no signs of any bugs or rodents. My unit is inside where it's climate controlled. Love it!!! Plus the staff, Maxine & Carol are so helpful & friendly. They recommended three brothers to help move and they are the best workers, very careful with fragile items and strong with the heavy stuff. These people have been terrific. We moved a parent's belongs in in 2010. Since then another set of parents moved nearby and we combined in a larger unit. Now we have had to add a second unit. I used to hear nothing but good things about these guys but was at a local event this weekend and learned how after agreeing to support the non-profit event and hanging their banner for them they backed out a day later with no explanation and left the non-profit holding the expense on their signs and with no advertisement beyond the few hours the barn staff had the signs up for. Hopefully they make good and figure things out as in my mind Old Barn's connection to the community is what used to set them apart in a good way but it sounds like they lost that community loyalty lately. read more

Why wasn't the sign up for the dog show recently held in Grass Valley at the fairgrounds. I looked for the sign and only saw something for some Italian fest. I missed the show and am really upset. I always loved coming to that show. I saw the sign one day and then when I looked for it again, it wasn't there. read more

Old Barn storage is expensive to start with, and have raised their rates even higher since I have been storing my belongings there. Because of my location, no longer in the area, it has made it near impossible to move my items to another storage location. Now, even after letting them know I would have to pay late for June, they not only charged me an excessive late fee, but also charged an extra $185.00 because they put a lien on my unit - and the payment was less than one month late. I strongly suggest people be cautious using this storage, and go further to suggest you find another location if you are using them. read more
