Finding a place to refill your propane tanks is getting harder. I'd been doing the tank exchange at WallyMart and it's $22 bucks for a swap . If your tank is old go to Wally. In 2017, we moved into our home that did not have gas installed. Placer propane was eager to help with that problem and provided a means that my wife could have a gas range and fireplace. They installed a 100 gal tank on the side of our house in Orangevale. It worked great from the first day until now. How did I not know of this little gem a mere few miles from my work and almost on my way home?!?! Had three tanks empty and really did not want to go to WalMart or any of the chains to exchange the tanks. Then I was recommended to go here. I am so glad I did! We've come here a few times. Price just about 50 to $1 cents less than the cheaper tank swaps for 20lb cylinders. Last time we went I was charged to "re-certify" my tank( which was a Rhino tank) since, according them, had expired. Rhino sells expired tanks? He said no problem!! I'll take care of it. Yup, took care of it all right!!! Charged me $10 extra to slap a paper sticky label(which will fall off) and called it good. Called my husband which told me I should have just walked away from offer. The way he said it, sounded complementary. Make sure you always check your tank dates and if more than 12 years old, just go to Rhino or Amerigas and swap it. Cheaper than paying $10 extra for the same propane. read more

The pigtail propane hose connector for my 2014 Coleman Trailer began to leak up in Lake Tahoe. Upon my return to the area, I called up Camping World - Roseville (where I bought the trailer) and they suggested I go to Placer Propane to get a replacement...because of the unique length of my original hose. Rick was training someone when I arrived, but took the time to not only make a replacement for me...he also provided superior connector at the tank connection end of the hose! Placer Propane came to the rescue when another well known propane company left us without propane during a cold winter storm. They were able to schedule a delivery in a few business days and accommodated us by providing an emergency delivery of 16 gallons to hold us over until that time (at a very premium price, but we were desperate). The only negative is that their price per gallon is the highest we have been quoted, but their customer service and technicians are great. Friendly, efficient and affordable. Price fluctuates but as of today it cost me $17.41 to refill a 15lb tank which is the standard size people use for bbq grills. In case it helps anyone propane weighs 4.24 pounds per gallon. read more

They fill tanks at the island efficiently and with great customer service, and they also do excellent work on things like tank sets for residential customers. These guys are really great, and they have great pricing. But even though the hours say updated one month ago, it is not correct. The handwritten sign on the front gate says closes at 4:30 during Covid. While yelp still says 530. Drove 30 minutes to get here today just to find out they were already closed. Very disappointed in this place right now. We have been getting our propane from here for 10 years now and today was a whole different story. We had dropped off 7 tanks on Friday. Called on Monday, were told tanks are not ready. Called on Tuesday, were told that they would be ready the following morning. When arriving there Wednesday morning around 10 they were still not ready. Ended up getting only 3 tanks filled and paying over $400! The receipt is not itemized so there are no break down of the charges, have absolutely no idea what we were charged for if we only got 3 of tanks filled. Ridiculous. Went down to Harris Gas and got the rest of the tanks filled on the spot for $60! Make sure you get a break down of your changes before leaving this place. read more

I had six propane tanks that I needed to get rid of. I went to different recycle places and they did not want to take them they said that I need to cut them in half in order for them to receive it. I went on Google called different propane tank places and no one wanted to take it to recycle it. I called place or propane they said that they will recycle it for no problem I came there 30 minutes before they open up and they still took me and my containers so if you have some propane tanks that you need to recycle that's the right place to go.
