Recently rented a piece of equipment from Rental Guys for a week with a friend of mine. The charge for the equipment was $949.62, we paid in full and were on our way. Well two days later, no phone call or notification the account was charged an additional $309.25. Questioning it we called and were given the run around about trailer rental and discounts. This doesn't sit well with me, after all we agreed on a price for the week and paid in full. We did not authorize the additional charge because we were unaware of it. They just decided let's make them pay a little more without even a phone call. Here we are today, we returned the equipment and were provided a receipt. There was a break down on the receipt with all the equipment rented totaling $949.62 (the agreed upon amount. Then there was a flat charge for the $309.25, yep you guessed it, no break down, nothing about trailer discounts or equipment rented, no explanation at all just a charge. With some argument they refunded part of the charge (not all) because they said the manager was out sick. Long story short, I do not recommend Rental Guys, they will just charge you more without a written break down or real explanation of why. Terrible way to do business. read more

Better service. I ordered 6 sack concrete one yard. The concrete was just gavel. There was a lack of cement in the mix. I need to go buy extra cement just to make the finish better. The mixer ran out of gasoline with in the 2 hours policy. I had less than a 6 minute drive one way and the gas ran out. read more

Okay...so, it's spring and I'm doing work around my property. It was time to redo my redwood deck and of course , I don't possess all the tools I need to get the job done properly. I needed a large deck sander(I only have hand sanders and my deck is approximately 400 sq ft) so I contacted Rentals guys in Orangevale and spoke to Jeremy. He quoted a great price for an 12" x 18" electric sander for $70 for the day. To me this was the best quote I found. When I arrived they had the unit ready to go and loaded it in my truck. I have to say, IF you are going to strip, brighten, sand and stain your deck these guys have the right tools to make you job that much easier. Please note that when you rent the sander you will also need a pad and sand paper. They also have that in the shop. So, if you have a big deck project. Check these guys out. The process of renting the trencher was very seamless. They have me plenty of options of how long to keep it and how much it would cost. Great place for yard equipment rental and much more. I rented hydraulic rototiller here (large and heavy duty one). Finished all the work in couple of hours instead of couple of days with hand held tiller. The best part is they have delivery for heavy equipment, in and out of your place. Very disappointed. 2 issues: 1) Attitude and, 2) equipment not operable. The fellow who rented the paint sprayer was very caustic. "Don't use stain, we can tell if you do and there is a charge of $xxx if you do." OK I plan to use LATEX not oil based stain. "OK but..." Then upon return without looking up he calls out to yard guy "check that spryer out make sure its not full of stain". OK we've been over this issue now you are accusing me of lying? I don't need a clerk accusing me of anything. Remember? I am the customer (although not here again). BUT THE REAL ISSUE: I had a one day weather window to spray my fence (with latex stain) before rain moved in. My rental began Saturday afternoon to be returned Monday morning. They are closed Sunday. After final prep Saturday I began to spray Sunday morning. SURPRISE! The darn sprayer is missing the spray tip! So no spraying, no getting resolved until Monday. Now a one week delay in finishing the project and a one week delay on putting the house on the market. No, next time it is Home Depot tool rental or one of the many other equipment rental choices. read more

This company is now owned by the Rental Guys but still appears as Greenback Rental in most searches. I have never needed to rent large equipment before so I did not know what to expect. My job required an 18" trenching machine. Even the smallest ones are close to 1000 lbs so putting one in the back of your pick up is unlikely. These guys are great. They hooked up the trailer to my truck, loaded the trencher and sent me on my way after explaining how to use the machine. Trencher was gassed up and ready to use. Took it home, did my job with no issues, brought it back and they once again unloaded it and unhooked the trailer. I can't believe how smooth and easy the whole process was. Will always come here in the future. read more
