A year ago I had an issue and Omar the owner responded timely and corrected the issue. We had quality dry firewood delivered timely and by a very nice gentleman. My problem was resolved and PLACER FIREWOOD provided a quality product and timely. The value and service has been outstanding. I suggest....Get your wood early this year! Looks like it maybe a long and chilly winter. read more

Stopped by on an afternoon to return to Cool, CA. The location is back off the main road and once you can't miss it, once you see it. Had them load the truck up with an entire basket of mixed wood. For the price and service it really was a great experience. Also learned they will deliver out in my area so next time I don't have to make the trip. Wood worked perfectly and looking forward to burning it up! read more

Great communication. The owner himself dropped off the wood. Price range is affordable and sure helps with my gas usage price. According to PG&E i was 38% less gas usage than neighboors with similar sized houses. And with the new price increase it sure helps! read more

I primarily heat my house in winter with firewood but after 15 years of bucking, splitting and seasoning my own firewood, it was time to find a reputable supplier and hand over the work to someone else. I tried a local supplier last season that I found easy to communicate with but the quality of their mixed lot had a lot of different lengths and showed signs of pest & rot so I didn't want to use them again. I chose Placer Firewood for this season, and I was really impressed with Omar's overall communication and response. When he says he wants to make sure you're satisfied with the order, he's not just blowing smoke. He means it. I initially ordered 2 cords of their mixed value wood to get a starting gauge of the quality. The wood was delivered and right away, I noticed the quality of the logs. They were mostly uniform 16 inches and pest/rot free. I was very excited by this but as I began sorting and stacking, I noticed at least half a cord of logs felt very heavy to handle and had an immediate "fresh cut" smell. Because of my extensive experience with seasoned firewood, I could tell by weight and sound that I had received some "wet" logs. I test burned some of the logs and found they were smoking heavily and creating a lot of creosote. I later confirmed it with a moisture meter which picked up 23/24% moisture in some of the logs I had suspected. I contacted Omar about my issue with the delivery, and he acknowledged that there was a miscommunication during the rush of loading that resulted in my accidentally receiving unseasoned wood, and he made it right by offering to swap the whole order. We came to a mutually agreed remedy, and he later delivered a very well seasoned cord and stacked them for me. It was sincerely an above and beyond response. Omar's commitment to customer satisfaction and effective communication sets Placer apart and makes them a reliable choice for anyone seeking top-notch firewood and exceptional service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Placer to anyone and looking forward to ordering from them again next season. read more

Another great experience with Placer Firewood. Omar kept me updated with delivery details, Ash delivered my order and was so friendly (despite working in a torrential downpour) with a perfect drop right where I needed it. Ordered 1/2 cord of Almond and it looks great. Customer for life. read more

Great customer service, great communication, and great delivery! I highly recommend Placer Firewood.

Ok. I am nearly on the verge of holding back tears due to the level of customer service that Oscar and his company has. My original post mentioned a paid-for product that was not delivered last year, and Oscar literally came by this year to drop off the items! He didn't give us a heads up or say a word about it other than taking time out of his day (or an employee's since I'm not sure who dropped it off) to make right of a situation that occurred LAST YEAR! Thank you for being so gracious enough to correct an issue from so long ago despite us writing it off as a non issue. 100% impressed by the level of quality customer service that I definitely need to update my review. read more

Great experience with Omar at Placer Firewood. He was very responsive and got me a quote right away. Came 2 days later with a truckload of wood. I only wanted 1/4 of a cord and he worked with me. Omar and his guys are GOOD! Great communication, generous amount of quality wood. I got a mix of almond and oak. They delivered same day and beat an oncoming rainstorm. The driver called ahead to let me know he was on his way and backed right up as far as he could to make it easy for me to stack. Very pleased, and Placer Firewood will be my go-to next season. Please remember to tip your delivery people if they go the extra mile. read more

My wife and I moved into a home and inherited about a chord of firewood. Unfortunately, we didn't cover it in time before the "Bomb Cyclone" and it was drenched and doesn't burn correctly. I called Omar and requested 1/24 of Almond. He delivered it the next day for a reasonable price. Also, Omar is very friendly which made the transaction much easier. I will use Omar again when we need more firewood! read more

I just purchased a 1/2 cord and couldn't be happier. It was delivered two days after I called, which surprised me since others I had checked with couldn't deliver for quite a while. Placer Firewood was the best value by far. Chris, who delivered the wood, went above and beyond dropping the wood at my gate. He was personable and fun to talk to. I highly recommend Placer Firewood for quality wood and excellent service. read more

The only place I would go for firewood. Omar has the best wood! And that's not just according to Mrs. Omar... I bought a cord or so of really great dried Almond wood from Omar at the end of winter and he delivered it himself, helped me unload it and it looked and smelled so good I knew I wouldn't make it until winter to get a nice fire going. So what did I do? Cranked up the AC and then got a good fire going! Best stuff ever. Ever! read more
