We came from out of town and found this amazing place for breakfast. Our server was so nice and took care of us. We ordered the chicken fried steak with home fries and scrambled eggs. The chicken fried steak was so crunchy. The breading was seasoned perfect, the steak was tender and juicy. The gravy was really good and full of flavor. The home fries were great. I ordered peppers and onions with it. I was very impressed that it was all seasoned and I don't have to put any salt and pepper on it. Lol! We also ordered the griddle toast logs with strawberries and whipped cream. These were amazing. They had a cinnamon sugar crispy outside and "melt in your mouth " inside with a sweet cream cheese. We have been here a couple of times and thought maybe the 3rd time would be better.. not the case. We waited 30 minutes for a table on a Sunday afternoon, no big deal. Got sat and waited 10 minutes for a server to come and ask if anyone took our drink order to which we said no, and then gave her our drink and food order at once. (Mind you it's 2 of us, 2 waters- griddle logs to start and 2 basic breakfasts.) We then waited 50 minutes for our food, only for it to come out all at one time, and be ice cold.. There were 9 empty tables in the restaurant so it wasn't a matter of catching up with orders; 3 tables we watched sit after us each with 2-4 people were sat, fed, and on the way out the door by the time we received our food. We couldn't even eat our food and were not about to wait another 20 minutes for eggs bacon and potatoes. We spoke with a manager and out the door we went. There's no structure in that place as servers all share tips so no one actually cares whose table is whose. Don't bother making a reservation. The front of the house doesn't follow any type of schedule. We made reservations for Mother's Day at noon. It's 12:41 and we STILL haven't been seated. This restaurant reserves a particular table per reservation. Apparently our reserved table has a regular couple that sits there every Sunday for three hours. Instead of having a backbone and telling them to leave, the staff continues to let them sit there! Patrons who had reservations were for 12:45 and 1:00 were getting sat before us. When we asked the front of the house why we can't just sit at a different table, they just said that "this is how we were trained." Campfire Grill completely ruined our Mother's Day and we will not be returning. Not to mention, I've called several times to speak to a manager and no one has returned my calls. read more

Anyways it was a 3 egg omelette with tomato's , onion , broccoli bc and mushrooms , opted for a fruit cup instead of home fries .. Got the omelette it was loaded with grease , I mean big time , the cook must of sautéed the broccoli , mushrooms , onions and tomatoes in about an inch of crisisco oil , after making omelette must of put it on plate , before folding laid the vegetables dripping with the crisco oil then folded it .. Thought I'd enjoy fruit cup at least , it was terrible , the grapes were fine but as far as the cantaloupe and melon it was not ripe at all , and the parts too close to the rhine that should have been thrown out made up the fruit cup .. This place was popping when I went for breakfast recently. I ordered my food to go (thank goodness), but I still had about a 40+ minute wait to pick that up. Clearly it's very popular anf now having tried the food, I can understand why. I ordered the lumberjack all day breakfast which came with hotcakes, sausage, ham, bacon and eggs. It's similar to other lumberjacks I've had before and tasted great. I opted for fruit instead of a breakfast potato with mine. The real star where the griddle toast logs! I cannot tell you how amazing these things were and if you go for nothing else you should definitely get these. Just know that that'll hit your sweets quota for the rest of the day, haha. They come with a couple different options for dipping sauces and I opted for strawberry. I should also note that the hotcakes came with syrup and also a choice of a fruit syrup option. If this review was based on just my food experience, it'd be 3.5 (I know, I know no half stars, but I wish there were). This is a collective review for our table of 5. We arrived around 730 on a Saturday morning and were seated promptly. They only had black tea as an option, so that was a tad disappointing. We ordered waters and coffee. My water cup had sticker sticky all up the one side of it. Amongst the table, two lumberjacks were ordered, corned beef hash, a seafood omelette and crunchy PB & j griddle toast. I really enjoyed my PB & j griddle toast; it was pretty and yummy, but did have a couple strawberry leaf pieces in it. I also wish it had more fresh strawberries on top. The two people who got the Lumberjack platters got cinnamon roll pancakes (nice that you didn't have to get plain, but there was a $1 upcharge which is quite reasonable, however the waitress didn't let them know and I didn't see that anywhere on the menu). They also said most of their food was not hot... The one toast's butter wasn't even melted/spread (the waitress did offer to have it recooked). Also, the melon in the fresh fruit was kind of tasteless. The seafood omelette got a good review and the corned beef hash was raved about... "There was beef in every bite". Great breakfast. Even though it was a little wait, it was worth it. Once we were seated, the service was fast, friendly and efficient. There were lots of choices of breakfast entrees. I had the pancakes which were light and fluffy accompanied by a plethora of syrups and toppings. The decor makes it feel like a classic cafe with well-spaced tables and a moderate noise level. I've had this place bookmarked to try for a while so we decided to check it out on my birthday when hubby and I both took the day off from work on a hot summer day in June. It was pretty busy for a Monday, but luckily we didn't have to wait to get a table. The menu was pretty extensive and it took us a while before I decided to try The Gunslinger and hubby went for the Crispy Buffalo Chicken Melt, both with fries. I have to admit I really wasn't sure what to expect with a beef patty AND pulled pork burger combo, but it was absolutely fantastic. The coleslaw was excellent and went perfectly with both meats. The chicken sandwich melt was also delicious, with the chicken breaded and fried perfectly and no sogginess at all. All the food came out piping hot and we stuffed our faces until we were ready to call someone to wheel us outta there. The staff was courteous and friendly, and even though it's not a very large place, they had people coming and going quickly thanks to the speedy and efficient service. We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience here and definitely recommend it. We shall return if the opportunity presents itself, although I don't think we'd be coming back often since it's definitely not good for my health. I went back to Campfire Grill. It was an hour wait to be seated and for takeout but there were seats at the counter where there was no wait. My cousin and I had a to go order as well and I ordered it just as we sat down. It came out about ten minutes later. That was quick compared to the time frame we were quoted. I ordered the French toast rolls I forgot the name but I got apple. They're coated in cinnamon and sugar and has a cream cheese filling. I expected more of a cream cheese thickness but it was loose more like yogurt however it was good. I'd definitely order them again. It came with caramel and whipped cream. I also ordered a sandwich a hamburger whose buns were two grilled cheese sandwiches. It came with carmelized onions and barbecue sauce. I didn't love love it. Because there was 4 slices of bread two on each side I felt like it needed more than one piece of cheese in each grilled cheese. It also could use seasoning. It was horrible but I didn't enjoy it so I took two bites and I didn't eat the rest. I order homefries and received French fries. We had to leave so we asked that our food be boxed up before we got it. I couldn't return it for the correct potatoes but it was okay the fries were good. They appeared fresh cut. They would have been better with a tiny bit of salt but I put ketchup and hot sauce on them. My cousin got eggs with cheese, sausages, bacon, ham and homefries. She thoroughly enjoyed her food. I believe overall campfire has great food and I know mistakes happen. They are always busy and I feel they have a very small staff with five people cooking in the kitchen. However, it seems that Campfire Grill has done it. Their portions are very generous. We went ahead and ordered the French toast roll-ups. They were great, it almost felt like dessert for breakfast. We went ahead and tried all the flavors, but the apple stood out. They even let us customize our eggs benedict to include crab meat instead of salmon, love and appreciate the flexibility. One suggestion, I once had a hollandaise sauce that had sausage in it and I think that it would be amazing on top of the benedict. The home-fries had flavor to them. More times than not it seems that home-fries are often neglected. These had flavor and weren't an afterthought or filler on the plate. The staff themselves were extra kind and helpful. Great themed restaurant with several unique options here. I've never seen pancakes or French toast cooked in vanilla almond granola before but it's a good flavor. Be warned though that these dishes run SWEET so it's a kid's dream but easy to get a stomachache. Some are obvious - Oreos in pancakes, covered in caramel sauce and 1/4 of a bag of whipped cream (no exaggeration- we sat at the bar and watched them prep the plates), but even the pancake crumble with the granola on it was covered in brown sugar too. Pancakes are deliciously fluffy and strawberries fresh in them. You can call ahead to be placed on a wait-list for a table. It's usually around 35 minutes it seems. Even sitting at the bar, service was rather slow after the initial order taking. No offers to refill drinks. We were sitting there for awhile waiting for someone to offer us a box and the check, but they were so busy running back and forth, it makes sense. If you have a lazy morning you can wait around and enjoy a sugary breakfast, this is the place to go. And yes, there are normal eggs/bacon/pancakes options, but really, you can get that anywhere so the draw is the unique things here. read more

The first time I experience Campfire Grill it was at their newest location, in Clarence and I was blown away. This was my first time at the Walden Ave. location. My friend called ahead and asked if she were allowed to make reservations and she was able to put our names in about 20 minutes ahead of when we would be arriving. We only had to wait in the parking lot in our respective cars for 15 minutes, as opposed to a much longer time. I love their reservation system, where they text you a link and you get to refresh and see where you are on the list. I wish more restaurants had this same system. He relieves anxiety. I got a bloody Mary and it came with a piece of bacon. I wanted it with a tad more spice, but it was acceptable. Would I order it again? Probably not. I ordered the Scout omelet. It came with a choice of potatoes or fruit and toast. I went with the potatoes. I also chose rye toast. The Scout omelette was a veggie omelet. It was good. I would order it again. I wish the potatoes were more crispy. The toast was done perfectly. My friend's husband did ask for limp bacon and received extra crispy bacon. The fact that he stated he wanted limp, undercooked bacon was on the receipt. When he received crispy bacon, he sent it back because it was literally the opposite of what he ordered. I liked that they gave him the crispy bacon and that I guess you don't have to say you want the bacon cooked crispy. But also, when someone says what they want, give them what they want. I took a star off because the server brought the food and some of my omelet was touching his t-shirt and that is so disgusting to me.
