Took my father here to enjoy a breakfast and it was amazing . I had the Eggs Benedict trio and my father had the Surge Breakfast both had amazing texture and depth of flavor. Once you walk into the Restaurant the ambiance is one of an upscale diner.. welcoming you with art work on the walls and an artistic view of Italy. We like to avoid crowds so we went on a Monday around 11am. It still got decently busy after we arrived, but the ambiance was still calm and I was able to hear my husband. Our server was Hunter and he was fantastic. He helped me decide on my order which was helpful and I was very pleased with his suggestion of the Gyro Skillet. The food was cooked to perfection. It was a large portion too so I took the leftovers for tomorrow! The chef brought out our food and was very kind as well. My husband loved trying three different kinds of Benedict, I think that's a cool option to have a Benedict flight. We love this place, definitely recommend! Extremely disappointing visit. We waited 30 minutes for our coffee, which included spoiled 1/2 & 1/2. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for our food to arrive(only 4 of us). When the food arrived, it was literally cold and not correct. The poached eggs were hard. I had to wait 5 minutes for the hollandaise sauce and toast. The owner did come to the table to try to explain why. Only the coffee was taken off the bill. That was an unacceptable "fix" to the big problems. We will not be back. Visited this Kenmore restaurant on a Friday to try their fish fry. We were quickly seated and our drink and food order was immediately taken by a pleasant waitress. As we waited there was music and subdued lighting. The restaurant was just about full, seems the secret is out. They were not properly staffed for such a rush though. The poor waitress was having to run all over. Our food arrived overflowing and hot. The fish fry was delicious and so big there were leftovers to bring home. Ordered Take out for 4. I've dined in and taken out here before, picture for reference, comfortable place and clean and tidy. Surge Burger for me, so I'll review that specificity since that's what I ate. Dolmas Pita, Lemon Rice Soup, Souvlaki Salad and Tuna Melt along with Falafel App for the rest of the family. Food was (and always is) freshly made, with quality ingredients - everyone was pleased and all meals were flavorful. The Surge Burger, stuffed with Chipotle peppers, fried peppers and onions and Cheddar Melted just right- and cooked exactly medium as I asked was excellent. Season fries to go along were the perfect touch. So when I arrived home, one of our dishes was not included in the bag. Here's where the story gets great. My expectation was that I would call and they would apologize and tell me we'll have it ready for you in a few minutes to pick up, (we live close) or we can refund you. I mean, that's the most I expect, and what every other restaurant seems to offer - happens often since Covid and we are understanding. Not this time. The owner answered the phone, addressed me by name, he took personal accountability and apologized profusely. He made the missing entree in minutes, drove it to my house on a 25 degree night, added a little extra bonus, and apologized in person. There was a time that this was "normal" and just the right way to do business. I never thought I would experience that level of care again. He was genuinely upset, it was the most sincere apology I've received over something that was not that big a deal. Surge (Sergio I believe) has won us over. Not only is the food excellent, he genuinely cares about the experience he delivers to customers at a level that most restaurants abandoned long ago. He went far out of his way. I didn't expect my best dining experience this year to be local take out, but the situation start to finish was exceptional, and so is the gentleman that owns this establishment. I have been to Surge a couple times now and DoorDashed it once. Food: The first couple times I got food from Surge was for brunch. Their breakfast menu is huge but both times I went for my favorite: Chocolate Chip Pancakes. They were delicious, even the time I DoorDashed them. The home fries were okay. Nothing special. The third time I went was for dinner with my partner. He was excited to go for dinner because he is of Columbian descent and we found out they serve some traditional Columbian dishes. I got the fish fry that night after hearing people rave about it, but it was pretty bleh. It wasn't flavorful at all and the sides were not the best. Service: The service at Surge has always been good, even when busy. When DoorDashing it was a little delayed but i assumed it was because it was peak brunch hours. Ambiance: The restaurant is cozy and well decorated. It's pretty quiet even during brunch hours. Overall, the food is pretty meh. I appreciate the unique menu items as does my partner. I would still go to Surge again despite that but will probably stick with breakfast food. read more

What a great hidden gem in Kenmore. I usually don't take half of my breakfast home but there was no way I was finishing the Greek Skillet this morning. Gyro, peppers, onions, potatoes with two over easy eggs on top, and sprinkled with feta cheese was so delicious I really wanted to finish it all but was just too much for even me. Absolutely delicious, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Service was great, prices are on point for the amount of food that you get. It was great to see the owner, Sergio, come out and greet his patrons and make sure everything was okay with all the tables, always a sign of a caring establishment. Wife and I walked in on a weekend morning a few weeks ago expecting to have some breakfast. There were a few tables with people, and seemingly sufficient labor for the volume. Not that busy. We sat down, a waitress brought our menus. Then nothing. We sat for 15 minutes and walked out after being passed by without acknowledgement several times. Ended up going to the coffee shop across the street. I can only assume that either they didn't want our business... or they really need an experienced front end person to straighten stuff like that out. I gather that they're all family and they don't want to take a professional approach. That's not going to work in a town with such a competitive food scene. Had take out once before that. Lox bagel sandwich and a standard eggs, bacon and toast breakfast. Both were really good. Expected better than the zero-star service we got when we went in. Might try again, might not. I've been here a few times. The breakfast skillet it's typically great (most times I've gotten the gyro meat) . This time I got the beef, it was average. The gyro is much better IMO. Substituting pancakes for toast is an upcharge, but usually it's worth it (at most places). This time they were basically silver dollar pancakes. Not worth it. Our server was nice, the food was good (my friend got the avalanche french toast), but I won't return. The reason: when I got the check, there was a change for "Kitchen Love." Granted, it was nominal ($1 for each meal). But as someone who spent years in F&B, it is ridiculous where the customer is forced to pay the kitchen staff. read more

We stopped here shortly before closing last night as it was on the few places open and we had no idea where to go and we were pleasantly surprised. While we just got our food to go quick, it was very nice looking inside. The business is run by a family and everyone seemed very friendly. No cared that we were there so close to closing and treated us well with a smile. I got a lamb gyro which was cooked perfectly with a delicious tzatziki sauce - which surprised me because I don't normally like cucumber anything. The pita was well done and tasted homemade. I did a takeout order from here and really enjoyed both the items I had. I had the patty melt which came with fries and the chicken souvlaki poutine. Both are flavorful and few things can top a delicious patty melt on that rye bread. I forgot to take pictures but for being to go orders they have a nice presentation and the pick up process was really easy from a friendly staff member. A note on the interior of the place, it's quite spacious in there and definitely looks like a nice dining environment, so I'll have to go back and check it out in the future. read more

First time here in this long narrow restaurant. Formerly Vasilis Eggsperience. . Very busy this Sunday morning. . Staff was attentive and helpful with my breakfast selections. Started with a cup of brewed coffee. The breakfast I had two extra large eggs fried over easy two six inch pancakes, home fries ham and a small fruit cup. The food was prepared quickly came out hot. I thought the eggs were overcooked and the server offered to replace them however I declined. Overall the plate of food was delicious and filling. Service was very good. Its really a shame because one would have high hopes for the food here, but it's the Buffalo equivalent of lipstick on a pig. The food is inedible, often times not cooked properly. The kitchen staff don't seem to comprehend what properly cooking potatoes are, or what black rotting parts of potatoes are. So they'll just throw them in all the same. I've tried eating from here now five separate times, each one worse than before. Avoid this place at all costs, its clear that they don't care about the food or health standards for food safety.
